661  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: {BFL} WHAT! :( Butterfly Lads won't deliver the Monarch Till March or April:( on: February 28, 2014, 08:46:37 PM
More promises from your favorite guy "JOSH":

"Yes, and I'm working on getting additional benefits for those that paid $4k for the cards. I don't want to reveal any specifics yet, but we will hopefully be able to take care of the customers appropriately."

It's a promise to only pre-mine on it for a month

or

It's a discount on the 1000W PSU that will be needed to power the thing when they inevitably miss the power specs

or

It's a free 2015 calendar with all the expected delivery dates pre-printed

or

.....

662  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [GUIDE] How to rent your rig on LEASERIG.NET - Scrypt & SHA256 on: February 28, 2014, 08:08:01 PM
UPDATE: BAMT = 32bit and the provided binary for the stratum is 64bit.

Any chance of getting a 32bit compiled version of LeaseRigProxy for those of us running BAMT? Also do you have any ideas for setting this up redundantly (I don't want LeaseRigProxy to be a single point of failure)?

Thanks.

From the latest version I just downloaded, looks like it's already been fixed.

v0.03b
- fixed issue of some stratum pools not being supported
- linux executable is now 32-bit

Also many thanks to djeZo for working through some problems with my SHA256 rigs (hence the v0.02 and v0.03 !!)
663  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 Sales open] Price changes daily, now 1.37 BTC for 180GH/s on: February 28, 2014, 03:59:54 PM
Just received my 2 Antminers, the last UPS "cheap declared" batch.

So Bitmain declares the full value now?
How much?

Around $850-$900 people are reporting.

Thanks to those who have posted about the increased charges especially in the UK, I had been wavering about a large order as it was too near breakeven but this makes it not a good deal as it adds BTC0.3 to the cost.

I think the trouble with DHL is that there base charges are so high compared to UPS, for example some cables that I just got in from China that were $100 cost me £30 ($50) in charges.

Please bitmain go back to UPS  Angry

Lease Information

All speeds quoted are based on long term bitcoin mining speeds at the pool and are rounded down to allow a little extra.  Please note that if you are mining coins with faster block times you may see slightly slower speeds, this is normal as stale and rejected shares increase and will apply to all hardware.  It can take up to 5 minutes from the lease starting for the speed to stabilise as the pool adjusts the difficulty levels, if your pool allows it use at least 256 difficulty.

Please ensure you set MULTIPLE pools. Because the rigs mine exclusively for you, if your pool goes down and you only have one set then the machine will be idle and there is nothing I can do.  This is especially important with new coins as they tend to get hammered and crash frequently. I'd suggest one of the main BTC pools (guild, ghash, slush etc) as the last on your list then at least you will always get something.

My rigs are very stable some with uptimes of several months, but nothing is ever perfect, I keep an active eye on any leases and will try to let you know by email if I spot something wrong.  In the event of any downtime which is my fault you will receive double what you lost.  So if a rig is down for an hour I will add 2 hours or if you prefer you can request a refund.

Most rigs are located in my own air conditioned server room here in the UK apart from the Spondoolies machines which are hosted at a professional data center in the USA. All are monitored with CGRemote, if a machine goes offline it sends a message to my phone and plays a siren loud enough to wake me up if asleep Smiley

My aim is to offer good rigs at reasonable prices with excellent service so people keep coming back, rehires get a 2% discount.

I am usually around from 09:00 to 23:00 UK time, if you have questions or there are any problems just send me a PM or send me a message in the chat on Leaserigs site

I need help understanding something.

at current lower end rates of 0.015 btc/mhash/day.. renting rig out still yelds 1.5-2x more value than mining at most pools, including some of my favourite ones... I really don't get the economics of renting.. I mean, I'm loving it, but I don't get what makes it profitable to the renter?? I.e...  Ican't find a pool that would pay me more then I'd get for leasing my rig out.. even with altcoins and coin switching. etc.

I expect the bulk of rentals are on new coins that have just come out.

For ones that take off the early days can be very very profitable so I expect people are trying to acquire as many coins as possible at the beginning when the diff is low and the block rewards are highest.
667  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Server Power Supply Interface Board - for standalone miners and GPU rigs on: February 26, 2014, 04:53:17 PM
Stock is growing on D750 boards, and parts are inbound for the next batch so general sales should be open soon. I'll probably post the sales thread in the Group Buys forum, as that's more the proper place for such things.

Eagerly awaiting the next batch, I presume you'll add a post in here directing to the group buy thread when available, I don't keep up with that forum and don't want to miss them.

668  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] LEASERIG.NET - rent mining rigs - SHA256 rigs are needed! on: February 26, 2014, 11:46:54 AM
DjeZo, will we only be able to offer as a big rig or will we be able to have the leasee split it/ choose a smaller one?

I'm curious about this too, have over 2TH of SHA256 miners I can bring bring (which ties in with the topic change), there may be a market for that size but if not would be nice to offer the individual machines.

Also will this new proxy allow the use of antminers as currently I don't think it's possible due to them not using a cgminer.conf file

If you need someone to help test I have windows and am around all day.

670  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: February 25, 2014, 12:20:30 PM
It's very sad, I love KNC, had an order for Neptune in the first hour or so, but their announcements combined with bitcoin price dropping makes refund the only thing to do.  Sad

The only thing keeping me hanging on to my order is the geek in me wants one of the very first machines delivered, if I had a later order it would have been refunded for sure, but as each day passes I'm getting closer and closer to a refund.

KNC, if you do actually care about your customers

1. Produce some Jupiters very quickly and sell them to existing customers (Ideally your 1-500 customers first !!!).
2. Issue a proper statement about what neptune buyers are going to get and when, not vague comments that tell us nothing
3. Offer us something to make it worthwhile waiting, as I can buy almost 3TH TODAY and have it delivered in a couple of days for the $10k

Number 3 is the killer and is the reason most people are jumping ship, I love KNC and don't want to leave but I need to hear something soon
671  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Hacking The KNC Firmware: Overclocking on: February 24, 2014, 05:01:40 PM
I am in the same position, I've tried rolling back the firmware but it just trashed the miner and i had to put 1.0 firmware back on Sad

Contemplating using the recovery file now Sad

I think I've got mine back to it's previous 625GH

Had to roll back to 0.99.1-tune to achieve any success

Changed the cgminer.sh file back to 211, started cgminer, redid the SPI settings and all the voltages (fortunately I'd taken a screenshot after I initially set them up), restarted cgminer and appears to be OK

I am getting some AJAX errors from the GUI, but just ignoring those as it's running.
672  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [CLOSED] ASICs group buy by pidobir on: February 24, 2014, 11:23:44 AM
Unfortunately, but only Avalon asic in first and second generation have positive ROI in BTC  Angry
At one time I was paying for BFL Single 25 BTC, and it mine only 3,5 BTC....But in USD i have profit more then 700$

Don't remind me about avalon, batch #3 lost me lots more than your BFL's Smiley

You are correct though that almost all pre-orders have been a bad idea, with a few rare exceptions

Both my Jupiters are +ROI in BTC but only because one was one of the very first delivered when the returns were very high, and the other was one of last when the price was cheap and the wait was only a couple of weeks.
673  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [CLOSED] ASICs group buy by pidobir on: February 24, 2014, 10:00:06 AM
you seriuosly did not had your ROI? i have paid nearly 12k $ for my 72 shares, and that did ROI, bought me 100 ghs of knc miner and around 10mhs of scrypt gpu mining.

When you bring $ into the equation it might be possible to claim a ROI due to the rise in the BTC/USD rate but that's not this investment that has made a profit it's been your investment in BTC

My shares were BTC0.8418, and have so far returned BTC0.4472 so around half and with the diminishing rewards it's not going to go much higher than that Sad
674  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Hacking The KNC Firmware: Overclocking on: February 23, 2014, 11:14:44 PM
The 1.0 firmware works really well with November Jupiters.

I simply changed the speed of all cores from 900 to 1000 and did nothing more, and my best November Jupiter increased from 675 GH to 750 GH. My other November Jupiter increased from 650 GH to 725 GH. Hardware errors also did not increase after overclocking, so the systems have been very stable after the overclock.

The 1.0 firmware really does nothing for October Jupiters though, as the overclocking options are very limited since the core speed can only be increased from 750 to 775. Custom hacking / overclocking still works best for October Jupiters.

I noticed similar on my november one. I had to leave one die at 950 as the voltage/amps on it kept dropping to 0, but all the rest at 1000 and gone from 650 to 725 so very happy, and the reduction in HW errors is massive, previously around 1.5% now down to 0.07%

Changed my october one as well to reduce the hardware errors, changed them all to 775 but only getting 570GH which is down from the previous 620GH

Went to change the cgminer.sh file but the line I used to edit has gone

Quote
cmd=$(printf "0x86,0x%02X,0x01,0xF1" $c)

to this:

cmd=$(printf "0x86,0x%02X,0x02,0x11" $c)

Will I have to roll back firmware or is there a new edit ?

676  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - www.middlecoin.com on: February 18, 2014, 02:50:08 PM
I pointed both my miners to clevermining. I will let y'all know how good I do there. H2o if you fix your pool, I might come back.

I tried it for about an hour earlier, but with only a US server the rejects were > 25% on my rock solid rigs, so no good for me.
677  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BETARIGS.COM - Cryptocurrency cloud mining - Record: 1.1Gh/s of scrypt!!! on: February 17, 2014, 11:03:42 PM
Is there a service like this for ASIC mining?

I agree and would like to see SHA256/ASIC mining rigs at some point, leaserigs offers this but betarigs is much simpler to set up so would rather use you.

2.1TH standing by Smiley
678  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 open for sale again] The last round before the Chinese New Year on: February 16, 2014, 06:23:11 PM
But anyway, long story short -- the site said "Ships 48 hours after payment is confirmed."  Then my order went through (the email from Bitmain literally says I ordered at GMT 05:01:52, so they hadn't even been open for business for 2 minutes when I ordered, lol) and  I quickly sent in my payment and it was confirmed in the next 10-20 minutes.

The site was definately updated prior to them going on sale, I posted about in this thread at 13:50 UK time which was 1 hour and 10 minutes before they went on sale

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=417159.msg5177456#msg5177456

Maybe request a refund if you are unhappy ?

Update on website

Quote
Limited units sales.

Shipment will be started on Feb 28th.

BITMAIN always do the fastest shipment !!!

The good news is that with a 2 week delay and no price drop I don't need to hammer the website at 3pm to try and get an order in.
