681  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Bitcoin also lead to corruption ? on: May 12, 2017, 11:50:28 AM
In any system where there is a dependence on consensus among humans, there will be such a possibility, but in Bitcoin this would be very unlikely to happen, since miners would be harming themselves.
Bitcoin or other crypto can just help to corruption to spread, by my opinion. Today there is currencies and technologies where you can't see the money road. it's hidden where from it sent and where it taken. In today's world in many countries the judgement for corruption is very easy, I live in Russia and I can guarantee you that with those people the government doesn't use something serious, all that makes to corruption to bloom.
682  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Which are your best bitcoin exchanges for a beginner user? on: May 12, 2017, 11:01:11 AM
Good question. I've been using bitcoin since 2013 and range of good bitcoin exchanges has vastly expanded since. Security has not improved though, so be sure to remove your coins to an offline wallet after purchasing.

Hi guys, I'm looking for the best bitcoin exchanges for a new user with little technical knowledge.

This site keeps an updated rating of all the top bitcoin exchanges: https://www.bestbitcoinexchange.io/ and gives very good advice. Use the column where it says "beginner-friendly" to get an idea of which place is best for your experience level.

As of May 2017, I would say that the following exchanges are well-suited for new users and have good reputation:
1. Coinbase - great for real newbies. Simple UI and easy to purchase with a card or bank transfer. Higher commissions. Insured deposits (don't let this tempt you into keeping your coins on their exchange).
2. Localbitcoins - good place to buy with cash and stay anonymous. Works well in every country globally. Nice opportunity to meet real life bitcoiners and chat. You can use bank transfer to buy online also.
3. CEX - ok for beginners with visa or mastercard. Fees are higher but it's very straightforward to use. You can buy with USD EUR GBP RUB. SEPA and wire transfer is possible too.
4. Bitstamp - a very reputable bitcoin exchange. Good prices. Just recently added card purchases for US customers too.
5. Blockchain.info - an online web-wallet that recently started acting as a trusted bitcoin exchange. Recommended for beginners because easy to purchase with card. European users only.
6. WeSellCrypto - you mentioned finding a good paypal to bitcoin exchange, well this place is decent. Only buy small amounts as fees are very high for PayPal - everywhere is the same.

I would be looking to buy 10 k usd worth of bitcoin with my card or bank account.

My advice is for large amounts try to find an exchange that allows bank transfer as fee are generally lower. Kraken is a very good bitcoin exchange with the lowest fees, but the user interface may not be adapted for beginners. Expect to pay at least 5 to 10 percent more if you buy 10 k USD of bitcoin with a bank card.

Quote
I could also use my paypal to buy the bitcoins, but i'd imagine the fees would be far higher?

Correct. Avoid using PayPal to buy bitcoin unless you only want small amounts (under 25 usd). Fees can go as high as 40 percent more than what you would normally pay using a bank transfer.
This information will be helpful not only newbies. If you would ask me the same question about exchanger some time ago I would recommend Yobit, because of I use this exchanger only. But that latest time I am not satisfied with their work at all. Transfers of little amount bitcoins take very long time and I am actually loose profit. Now I am looking for another exchanger where all operations would be provided in time and all this sites that you suggested will help me, I hope.
683  Other / Off-topic / Re: is worth to buy bitcoins? on: May 11, 2017, 11:16:12 AM
It depends. Today with this money you canbuy only 2 bitcoins, which cost a lot today indeed. But in a year you will doubble this money for sure and here is the question - will this money will satisfy you or not? I think the price is too high today for investment. I would wait for some fall, but the prognoses for bitcoin is only optimistic today. So, you have to decide yourself.
684  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price overvalued? Price Today: $1,827 on: May 11, 2017, 09:19:50 AM
Of course positive news from Japan makes the price to grow. But I didn't expected that bitcoin will come close to 2000$ point so fast. With such temps of growth now we must be all regret about our past withdraws.
685  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can gambling be profitable in long term ? on: May 11, 2017, 09:15:14 AM
Gambling can be profitable in the long run, provided we are not greedy or seek greater benefits than we have get. Profit 1%/day are better than 100% but only once.
How let's say you deposit 1 btc to gamble and don't win anything so you can't call the person greedy in this case.
Basic rule of gambling and it applies to anyone who gambles 'Deposit only the amount you can afford to lose' if you follow this rule you will either not gamble or if you lose you may not have any regret (hopefully)

If the game your are playing does not require skills like poker, and you are playing against the casino, you will eventually lose due to the house edge advantage. I agree, better play only with the money that you can afford to lose and only for entertainment.
Yes, we all know what way of play would be better, but the problem of addiction is still stays actual. I gamble on poker almost everyday, who knows how much I lost on this already.

689  Economy / Services / Re: TokenCard.io Signature Campaign [FULL] on: May 07, 2017, 10:16:06 AM
I  thought it was 0.15   ,it turns out to be 0.015 , too  little ,  feels too bad
On the first page everyhing written clearly 0,015 and I think there is no any signature campaign which would pay 0,15 per week.

691  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Use Social Media for Bitcoin on: May 06, 2017, 07:34:22 PM
Using social media to get the attention of our friends about Bitcoin is a good idea but it depends on the type of friends that you have. If majority of your friends are not open to new things and like to use the mainstream then theres a low chance that your post will be noticed. But if you have friends who are open to ideas and open to risks then post away and you'll see a lot of curious query in your mailbox.
The temper of friends is important here for sure, but you can't just post some information and expect that risky friends will follow. The commercial have to be attractive. And what can be more attractive than money?! But don't promise millions or it will looking just as some new scam scheme Wink
692  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: anyone else experiencing very long wait bitcoin transaction confirmation? on: May 06, 2017, 07:24:27 PM
I had same kind of problem couple of times already. You need to write to the site support to find out the truth and their reasons for that.
693  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Spam attack solution? on: May 06, 2017, 09:05:53 AM
People will not stop talking and spamming in any case. many of them just live with that. It called speculation and reasons can be different: to make the price for bitcoin to fall or to awake the interest to altcoins and many others actually.
694  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Hello, I want to show you a BTC website that really pays, not like others on: May 05, 2017, 07:25:39 PM
Looks like you never had any trustworthy site, but don't give up! I am sure you can find it sooner or later.
For myself I chose this site where for some little payments from signature campaigns I can allow myself to gamble with crypto currencies and win some real prize. Last week I won 1.3 BTC  Cheesy
695  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-05-04] Bitcoin Price Goes Full Throttle Blasting Past $1500 on: May 05, 2017, 03:12:12 PM
And now all the investors will be waiting for the next targer... 2000, 3000, 4000 and so on  Grin
That's normally that investors are waiting to the price continue to rise. In other case there is no sense for investment.
The price is close to the new record now and I expect to see 1600$ per 1 BTC very soon Grin
696  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Insanely high miner fees on: May 05, 2017, 03:04:41 PM
You have to be careful with all your transactions and check the sum in the beginning and after all counted fees before to finish the operation. Last time i was trying to cush out pretty big sum of money and cause of some site's problem when I wanted to cash out 10000 after all fees the final sum was just 1000! maybe cause of slow internet or slow work of the site, thenks God i looked carefuly on the transaction numbers and noticed it in time. So I have waited a bit and tried again and everything passed nicely  Smiley
697  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as the currency of the future? on: May 05, 2017, 09:20:22 AM
I see that the more bitcoin the more users seen from the significantly increased bitcoin price increase, is this a sign that bitcoin will soon become the future virtual currency?

yes there's a great possibility to that, because now bitcoin has the most highest value among all, and it is the most well known among all crytocurrency , it has also the greates number of investors nowadays, and I think that someday, more and more people will get interested on it, they will also invest and make an earning to it, the bitcoin earners population will be huge.

There is a possibility, but other crypto-currencies appeared with the same possibility as bitcoin. It all depends on what the users will choose.
Increased possibility is found to have bitcoin as the currency. As a beginning now Japan has legalized the bitcoin acceptance for all our requirements where fiat is used. In future more Countries start regulated usage then bitcoin becomes the currency as an alternative for fiat.
That's right. I think many countries will look on Japan as on example. And if such example will work without mistakes I am sure that one by one other countries will start to join to bitcoin.
698  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why won't my transaction confirm when my fee is higher than others? on: May 05, 2017, 09:12:17 AM
Everything depends from the site through which you provide your transaction - Do they have such money in the moment or not. I pay 0,0005 for the transaction and the last time I have waited 5 days to move money from one wallet to another.
699  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 04, 2017, 08:59:02 PM
Really though, for those of us who have been through perhaps 3 or more bubbles now and managed to hodl the entire time....it does start to get to the point where I think....am I ever going to sell? I know that if I ever do, a year after I would be spitting with rage.

Yep. It allowed me to hold from 2013. But, beginning to fear I'm treating bitcoin like an old spinster hoarding cats at some point you just have to say.    No more new cats.

My starategy is to use the current price for bitcoin without expectation for some great future with huge prices. Yes it can happen and can not. It's like 50
\50. So, I am not holding my bitcoins, I cash it out monthly and I think this is such strategy that makes bitcoin to roll in the wholw world economy.
700  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin crash coming? on: May 04, 2017, 08:53:35 PM
Drop to 1200-1300$ wouldn't be some seriouse crash for bitcoin. We saw drops much lover and faster already. Your thread name made me scary at first, maybe some other users too, but i think you just make people scare. The fact is we don;t know when the real crash will come. Will it be on a mark of 2000$ or 10000$ nobody knows.  We have to be wise and use all possibilities of bitcoin today or in nearly future to not become a looser when everything will end.
