Just be careful always, because, in the telegram, there's a lot of scammers and fake accounts. Enjoy trading!
Some helpful posts on scams in Telegram groupchats and some options to modify your account, and increase security. Even when you apply those security steps, it is worth to remember that it will only protect your from people whom are not in your contact list.

To protect yourself from Telegram users in your contact lists:
Please never click on strange links from someone else, even people who are in your contacts. Because their devices, accounts can be compromised, then attackers will send hazardous links to your Telegram account.

6885  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin mixers be considered illegal by worldwide governments? on: August 28, 2019, 03:47:13 PM
The problem is not on the mixer but crypto itself.
When my government heard about crypto mixing , it's really annoying because the corruptor will have the advantage for using it !
Mixers are not bad or shady, only people whom use mixing services are bad. Bitcoin has to face with the same thing, bitcoin itself is not bad, only bad people whom used bitcoin for their shady things, money laundering are bad. They, in turn, affected reputation of bitcoin. If you search Bitcoin + Fraud (as key word), abundant results on Bitcoin is a fraud will be shown on your computer screen.
6886  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the safest way to buy crypto? on: August 28, 2019, 03:19:09 PM
Hey! I want to know how to purchase crypto safe. I don't want hackers to steal my money, and I don't want exchanges to sell my personal data. And is it safe using non custodial exchanges like changelly and shapeshift. Please help!
Using exchanges to store bitcoin or crypto is most stupid thing to do, so avoid it if you are not dumb.
Now, let think of which exchanges you should choose to buy bitcoin.
- Centralized or decentralized exchange: Most of centralized exchanges ask for KYC, but there are non-KYC exchange like Binance (if you don't withdraw above 2 BTC in total per day). Most of decentralized exchanges don't ask for KYC, so you can use them. Nevertheless, it is worth to warn you that you have to secure your private keys yourself after creating accounts on decentralized exchanges. Losing private keys and account usernames, you will lose both your accounts & your bitcoin. It's certainly your faults, not exchanges.
- What you should do next after buying bitcoin on exchanges? Storing them there, nope.
Because exchanges can be hacked, you know that, right? So, you must withdraw your bitcoin to non-custodial wallets that you have full control (with wallet private key)
There are lots of advanced bitcoin wallets to choose, but which one you choose, you have to read and pratice backup and recover wallets from private keys/ seeds, before you withdraw your money from exchanges (centralized or decentralized, whatever) to your wallet.
Don't buy bitcoin on exchanges if you have not yet known how to install, backup, recover with bitcoin wallets.
Withdraw your bitcoin ASAP after buying it. It is more fitted to your intention, because you don't want to store your bitcoin on exchanges, don't want to trade, withdraw ASAP is perfect.

In fact, you must do the second step I mentioned first, because you have to prepare your wallets before buying bitcoin.
[General] Bitcoin Wallets - Which, what, why?
Choose your wallet
Newbies - Read before using exchanges or investing
Electrum wallet - Update safely and avoid phishing wallets?

There is another way if you don't want to buy bitcoin on exchanges, is buying bitcoin from high trusted users, whom run Escrow services in the forum. However, I don't suggest to do that, because you can easily buy bitcoin on exchanges.
6887  Economy / Services / Re: Teaching how Bitcoin works to my dad on: August 28, 2019, 01:30:14 PM
My dad has been curious why I'm always hooked on to the computer reading about something called Bitcoin.
I'm from India. In our country Bitcoin is banned. So to him Bitcoin is a dark technology. He's concerned I might be moving to the dark side.
Just tell your Dad that blockchain is the most important invention in the Last 500 Years in human civilization, and bitcoin is the King of blockchain ecosystem.

Everything is extremely difficult if you choose wrong approach, wrong place to start with.

To start with efficiently, you must:
- Choosing right place to start. That seems you have done well by joining the forum which is the biggest bitcoin/ crypto forum. I am not sure you did join other forums before joining here or not, but finally, for now, you are here. Welcome, fella!
- Choosing essential things to start off:
They are:
unofficial forum rules
forum structures (in Help page)
★ A Complete Guideline to use forum search button properly ★ (Read this one to sharpen your searching skill)
[GUIDE] Bitcointalk forum etiquette (for your life in the forum, you do need it)
community-written fundamental guides
Available courses on Bitcoin and Blockchain Technology from colleges and Universities (in case you want to find out more things beyond the forum)
- Spending your decent amount of time, and efforts to do first two steps.

You will certainly feel difficult at beginnings and early weeks, but you will feel more better when you become more familiar with basic terms of crypto, blockchain, and eventually will do find your joy here.

I have that one, more than one year ago: Available courses on Bitcoin and Blockchain Technology from colleges and Universities. The list contains courses from traditional courses to online ones (free or paid). People can start off with free courses first, then if they feel that they need more, paid courses to go. Lastly, they can choose to go to colleges/ universities to learn about blockchain if after first two steps, they become a real blockchain enthusiast

6892  Other / Meta / Re: Percentages of DT1, DT2 & normal users in top100 merited profiles, merit senders on: August 28, 2019, 02:10:43 AM
I guess it comes without saying that the most trusted and the most active ones here in the forum are the ones who are sending and receiving the merits the most. How active you are on how you contribute your knowledge in the forum is the key to receiving a lot of merits, you won't really be part of that list by not contributing anything to BCT. We are also forgetting that some of the trusted members in the DT list are also merit sources which is also a factor to consider since they have the most merits to send and they also have a good chance of receiving them due to reciprocal merits.
People don't need to be highly-trusted to receive significant merits, like me. Who trust me, not yet, but I have received 553 merits so far.
You pointed out a good point, that people must do their contributions first, then community will do recognize their contributions. Trustworthiness is the thing that follow contributions.
Trust mostly get from trade with others, but I believe no one in DT member lists will leave positive trust on newbie accounts whom trade smoothly with them.
Good contributions (posts/threads only or scam-accusation-focuces works) will help users to be recognized, then later they will get more trust. I meant trustworthiness in general, and they don't actually need to have positive trusts in order to be a trusted guy, like LoyceV wrote somewhere else (I don't remember where it is).
6893  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where to learn Blockchain ? on: August 27, 2019, 10:43:11 PM
Hey buddy,

Welcome to the blockchain world.
There are lots of courses: Available courses on Bitcoin and Blockchain Technology from colleges and Universities. In fact, you can find out more online courses, free or paid, from coursera.org or edx.org.

Starting from these ones is good, too.

If you find new cources, which have not yet listed in my thread, you can let know by leaving a post with links to courses you found, I will take a look at them and add them in OP.
6894  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin mixers be considered illegal by worldwide governments? on: August 27, 2019, 04:39:12 PM
We've already seen a mixing service getting shutdown by authorities in Europe, I think there's very high chance it will happen again. More likely, it will be a part of some global regulatory framework, they can try to forbid all services from accepting coins from mixers if there will be an easy way to tell if a coin comes from mixers or not.

But on the other hand, I think governments understand the value of privacy, usually they want to be the only one's with backdoors. In the last year there was an article how Canada advised people how to buy weed privately, because the US was taking action against people who did it even in other countries. So, regulating mixers is another option, forcing them to keep records and share them with authorities.
From what theymos wrote in his guide: [Guide] Decent mixing methods. The probability to see mixing services discovered by authorities, and shut them down is not too low. He mentioned that even ChipMixer (it seems the best mixing service for now) can be shut down. In addition, mixing services do not truly provide full privacy for their customers, as they always promised.
Most "tumblers", like the now-defunct bestmixer.io or even ChipMixer, aren't great because they are needlessly expensive, you're trusting the service not to run away with your coins, and you're trusting the service not to keep logs. Maybe they're the best current solution for small amounts where lasting anonymity isn't mission-critical, but in most cases you shouldn't use them.

Anonymity is very difficult, especially with blockchain-based systems where so much data has to be public, but also in other areas (eg. there are several known weaknesses with Tor). You should always operate with the expectation that any anonymity system you use will eventually fail you. If you're ever confident in your anonymity, then you're wrong.

6895  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This is one of the reason why Bitcoin and Ethereum price not growing as expected on: August 27, 2019, 03:02:18 PM
If there are no new ICO and IEO in the market I think the price of Bitcoin and Ethereum will stabilize and increase.
What's your thought am I right or wrong?
There are always new ICOs, IEOs, but over time, it turns out to become more difficult for new ICOs, and IEOs successfully raise funds they plan. The fact is, investors, from their past investments and their losses, actually become more careful with their investment decisions. They don't naively believe in investment advice from their friends, group leaders, etc. They changed themselves, and spend more time to read, learn, and investigate projects that they have interests and consider to invest.
Therefore, scam ICOs, IEOs mostly failed, but I don't think that they are reasons as you mentioned.
Personally, I saw growths of Bitcoin and Ethereum, in their liquidities.
6896  Other / Meta / Re: Percentages of DT1, DT2 & normal users in top100 merited profiles, merit senders on: August 27, 2019, 02:14:53 PM
It is more interesting if LoyceV can scrap data (in their trust page) from those zero-merit-earned DT2 members - especially whom get only 1, or <= 2 / <=3 positive trusts - to see how they got positive trusts. I believe most of them got from trade. Despite the fact that trust used to show trustworthiness in trade between users, I doubt that those ones are likely bought positive trusts. I considered them as potential biased DT2 members, whom might use their power wrongly or inappropriately which in turn result in trust drama.
It is a myth for me to see that guy in DT1 member list. Turned to inactive just one day before the day theymos made his trust list for this month.
DT 1
   92. 2148411: DIKUL (Trust:  neutral) (DT1! (5) 137 Merit earned) (Trust list) (BPIP)
I saw that user added in theymos' latest trust list, but not sure why it happened.
Which kind of inclusive criteria used here in order to have a group, from which randomly choose eligible ones?
I agreed with LoyceV's perspective
It's been suggested before, but I'll do it again: a minimum of 10 earned Merit would be a good requirement to be on DT. It's the minimum amount needed to be allowed to vote for DT1, so it seems reasonable to me to require the same for actually being on DT.

6898  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are You Still looking For New Coins When Bitcoin Dominance Hit 90% on: August 27, 2019, 08:12:40 AM
That is a really good point to ask and even if not 90% and Bitcoin has 70% dominance like Coinmarketcap says
What I saw is people nearly forgot to look at the growth of both bitcoin and altcoins in their dailly liquidity. Liquidity growths give us very strong signal for growth of crypto currency market, in general. When demands increase, price will increase later, certainly. No one can answer when bitcoin will stop its domination in crypto market, like it has been so far this year. No one can answer when altcoins will officially start its season this year, or whether altcoins have their season this year or not.

Like what we all witnessed when bitcoin fell to around $3100 in late days of 2018, but bitcoin has never ended as dead one. It rallied, and brought happiness to most of us, especially investors whom bought at bottom range.

Believe me, altcoins will certainly do bring happiness to loyal, patient investors, whom hold them till the bearish period of altcoins goes away.
Important to remind altcoin investors that what I said only apply for good altcoins, for shit, scam altcoins, yeah, investors should take advantage of any pumps from news to get out, and reduce their losses.
6899  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can identify off-topic?? on: August 27, 2019, 07:24:18 AM
P.S. You made 2826 posts and got just 1 Merit! Wow, it's really bad. Did you came here just for bounties? You don't need to answer this question...
Impressive ratio of merit per post, at 1/2826. Just kidding, I want to add some points on off-topic posts:

In my opinion, off-topic posts are the ones:
  • Totally shitposts: one-lined, non-sense, spam
  • Relates to issues that raise by OPs, but already answered/ solved by previous posts (it means when questions of OPs solved, your posts will become pointless if you repeatedly answer what others already answered in posts before yours)
  • Completely not relate to issues that are discussing in threads
1. No zero or low value, pointless or uninteresting posts or threads. [1][e]

2. No off-topic posts.
Quote
1. Such posts as "SELL SELL SELL", "I agree", "+1", "Support", "Watching", "Interesting", "LOL", "SCAM", "LEGIT", "FAKE", other one word posts, posts consisting mostly of swearing, quote pyramids, useless introduction threads, threads about a topic already recently discussed in several other threads.
Off-topic replies have become a big problem. From now on, I will be deleting such replies without notice, forum-wide. If your replies disappear, this is probably why.

All replies must respond to the topic's original post in some way, even if they are replying to an on-topic reply. If your reply has nothing to do with the topic post, either add some content that is relevant or create a new topic.

Please report off-topic posts as soon as you see them.

Yesterday, I joined that club, and now we have in the same club.  Wink

Interesting findings are less than 15% of normal users (non-DT1/DT2 members in the clubs of most merited profiles as well as most merit senders).
DT1 members obviously dominate two clubs, with the same percentage at 50%.
(1) Percentages of DT1 members are the same, at 50% in top 100 merited profiles and top 100 merit senders.
(2) Percentages of DT2 members are 37% and 34%, in top 100 merited profiles and top 100 merit senders, respectively.
