701  Economy / Goods / Re: Spend bitcoins on amazon, Go Daddy, barnes & noble, etc with no transaction fees on: September 03, 2011, 10:14:16 AM
Tried using your amazon affiliate link for a small purchase I made yesterday. Any way to know if it actually worked?

Thanks for that! As long as you used the affiliate link to get to Amazon when you placed the item in the cart and did not click through to Amazon from any other affiliate link before checking out, it should have worked. If you want to be certain, you can PM me the details of the item you purchased and I can look it up.

Thanks again!

Happy spending!

oh oops I didn't go through your link until just before checkout, oops.

That may be okay. I'd be interested to see if your purchase showed up anyway. If you don't mind PMing me the info on what you purchased, I'll check.

Thanks!

After an order is placed, how long are normal wait times for the order to get processed?   Is this service 24x7?

Orders are processed at least twice a day 7 days per week. This means the maximum wait time to receive a gift code or receipt is twelve hours.

Been using you for the past few days.  Very happy.

My only problem I have is, I'd love to see the actual total and not the subtotal from amazon so I can figure in shipping to my price.  Any way around this?

Don't know if this helps, but you can get an order total using a fake credit card number (as long as the first 4 digits are real?). I just tested it using 4640 9999 9999 9999 and an expiration of 1/12. Don't know what happens after you apply the gift card, though. If anyone tries it, let us know.

Happy spending!

Welp, need to toss away more of my bitcoins towards more computer junk that I probably don't need. /meh.

Now I need a cooler for my radeon 5870. Yes the one that I needed a cooler for about 2 weeks back. I bought a VF1000 from someone and apparently it isn't good enough (temperatures go out of control on stock speeds/voltages, 100C+. Yes I installed it right, and re-applied thermal paste fresh 3 times), so I need something better. My mind is set on a zalman VF3000A. Looking for shipped $45 to zip code 54501, USA. Can pay with bitcoins (prefered), also have paypal/moneybookers/amazon payments/dwolla.

It looks like you can get it here http://www.amazon.com/s?ie=UTF8&x=0&ref_=nb_sb_noss&y=0&field-keywords=zalman%20VF3000A&url=search-alias%3Daps#?_encoding=UTF8&tag=spendbitcoi0b-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=390957 through http://spendbitcoins.com for $49.70.

hi,

can you wait before adding a website on spendbitcoin, btcdeals was a scamm and I have been scammed because I thought it was a good site (it was on your site)

Hi there,

I am very sorry to hear about your experience with btcdeals. I put them on my site because they had a good reputation on the forums at the time. I took them down as soon as I saw some shady feedback on them here on the forums. I have no experience with them so I cannot say anything good our bad about them.

After I pulled them down I started a new policy of linking the btc stores on my site to a survey on the forums to rate your experience with them so that people can make up their own minds on who to trust. Treat it like ebay ratings. Choose how much to trust someone based on the ratings they have received.

If you can think of another way for me to verify the trustworthiness of sellers, please let me know.

Happy spending!

Amazon's still being annoying that you can't see the total cost + shipping till you either add a credit card or add enough gift card codes to cover for it...

Don't know if this helps, but you can get an order total using a fake credit card number (as long as the first 4 digits are real?). I just tested it using 4640 9999 9999 9999 and an expiration of 1/12. Don't know what happens after you apply the gift card, though. If anyone tries it, let us know.

omg nice
but sort of expensive because BTC .42 less than market price
is it like a vcc or what?

Not a vcc, just us doing the ordering on your behalf. The reason for the lower exchange rate is that in this case, you are covering our commissions for any sites we do not have an affiliate relationship with. If we get enough orders for any one site, we'll push to get it affiliated with us and on the main page with the actual market rate.

Happy spending!

718  Economy / Goods / Re: What store would you like added to spendbitcoins.com next? on: August 27, 2011, 05:12:49 AM
so convenient, thanks!

p.s. one thing that would make it better though would be if no email back&forth were required... if it were all done on site.

Hey there,

I agree that would make it easier, but I want both customers and myself to have an email record of what transpired. Make sense?

yes, makes sense unless the customer doesn't want such a record.

you are requiring that customers have a valid email address in order to make payments.

you can just keep a record of the form submission.

p.s. i'm not unhappy with the service, i guess i'm just suggesting that there is still a hole in the market - for a service exactly like yours but one that doesn't require email interaction.

Thanks. And I am very happy with any feedback any time regarding how my service can be improved. Just wanted to explain my thinking. Smiley

720  Economy / Goods / ANNOUNCEMENT: Now, Spend Bitcoins on any website on: August 27, 2011, 03:42:45 AM
Spend Bitcoins has just added a page to spend your bitcoins on any online site. The rate isn't as good as our main page of websites we're affiliated with, but it does allow you to shop at any site online with your bitcoins!

It's also like voting with your bitcoins. The more orders we get for any one site, the more we will push for an affiliate relationship with them so that we can put them on the main page at our best rate!

So, happy spending on anything! --> http://anything.spendbitcoins.com
