They aren't just highlighting police brutality, they are amplifying horrible examples of criminals doing dumb shit to intentionally create division over an issue most people agree about. Furthermore they have repeatedly pushed false narratives and hoaxes in order to create racial division and anger over the past 10 years or so, and have done more than the police themselves to create this situation.
True, there is definitely a political agenda behind. The US election are too close to be a coincidence.

Additionally these kind of events also happen to white people all the time, but the media never covers those incidents because it doesn't fuel their rage bait and political narratives, creating the false impression that this is only a problem for black people, again creating more racial division.
Tue, as a matter of fact, I wrote that 50% of policy brutality / murders are committed on white people.
And if you put in relation % of people in jail per color, I'm pretty sure that the % of white being killed is greater than the balcks in relation to incarcerated population (lack of tiem to find proper source).
Using a black victim allow to rally the afro americans, the latino amercians that are also victims, all the minorities and the "leftist" white and also some of the republican that have more than 2 brain cells and understand the police brutality issue.
Someone is being played, but we don't know who yet.
Regardless of that, if the police are pruning their staff of the bad apples, and start to being held accountable this would be somewhat a victory for all the future "victims".

The people creating this uprising don't give a GOOD GOD DAMN about justice for anyone, they are simply creating and using rage for their own monetary and political gains. This is exactly why I don't support any of this current situation, because it is enabling and benefiting the people doing the MOST to create these issues.
There is definitely and agenda, but it doesnt mean that the police brutality against citizen of all colour and sex is an issue.

I think I already answered your question with my previous replies regarding my covering of police brutality in the past. One measure I do support for example is the removal of qualified immunity for police which protects them from being sued. I am sure however that bill will also be loaded up with all kinds of other bullshit I don't support, because that is how these people work. It is never about justice, it is about achieving a means to an end, and fuck the principle of the matter. These people are just tools to be used to obtain their political and financial goals.

Someone is being played, but we don't know who yet.
One of the request of the #blacklivematter and the antifa and all the people that rallied behind the floyd movement is  to stop the police immunity.
Someone is being played, but we don't know who yet.

Chauvin had 17 complaints against him, most of them dismissed.
Is the USA a democracy where the police should be held accountable or is a martial law contry where the ones with the guns and the badge do what they want ?

702  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Cop broke the windows at Autozone which sparked riots across America on: June 08, 2020, 10:00:44 PM
It is a fact he was a convicted violent felon. No one is saying he "got what he deserved". They are however saying he is by far not simply an innocent victim of racist circumstance as the media, and retards like you present him to be. He made choices that lead himself down that path. He put HIMSELF into that situation. This is all being portrayed as an innocent man minding his own business being victimized by circumstances beyond his control. This is totally a lie. You don't give a fuck about justice, if you did you would be bringing ACTUAL INNOCENTS harmed by police to the forefront. Instead we find you here regurgitating what the media and hive mind command of you like a social justice parrot bot.

I will give it to you that the media is using this case to highlight police brutality and police abuse. There are way better case to highlt their points, and Floyd wouldn't have been my preferred choice.

But, the true question is the following: if Floyd was an abiding citizen that died to the hand of the police, would you have supported the current movement aiming to end police brutality? (I am not reffering to the looting, violence and destruction... just the peaceful action of saying enough is enough).

It is unfortunate, that Floyd is being martyrized as a hero, a figure to refer to for the young generation.
Yes he was a felon, yes he was a bad person, but, no, he didn't deserve to die that day.
There are pedophiles, mass murders, serial killers that are better treated than him, waiting for 5 - 10 years for sentencing on the death penalty.
Floyd, got killed for handing over a fake bill (we will never know if it was intentional or not!).

I also believe that better previous policy manslaughter/brutality/murder would have been a better case for exposing the bad cops.
But hey, the internet has decided that this case was the last straw that breaks the camel's back

I'll repost here, that what I wrote somewhere else :

sources  = +/- 1000  police murders per year  : THE GUARDIAN COUNTED

% of the 1000 black  ? (is it more or less than the  12% of the US population ?)
% latinos  ? ( + or - than 16% of USA stats ?)
% white  ? ( + or- than 72.4 % of USA Stats ?)

results :
% of killed is different than % of the population (but not by too much)
white = 50% of the 1000 casualties ).
Black 24%
latinos  18%

Blacks are twice more killed than the % of the US population
Latinos  20% more
white =  30% less than the expected number.

Bon, these numbers are "skewed" anyway because (it is a fact) that black Americans and Latinos have a higher felony rate than white Americans (reference numbers of people in jail by skin color).
It could be based on the fact that police officers are more likely to arrests blacks or Latinos, or it could also be because they are not given the same work/employment opportunities ... this is another story.

Who is Satoshi Nakamoto ?

Satoshi Nakamoto is a talented cipher and coder.
Wrote the whitepaper on bitcoin "Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System" and published it on the cypherpunks mailing list in October 2008
Developed the code for bitcoin and founded https://bitcointalk.org
He used an e-mail address and a web site that is untraceable.
In 2009 and 2010, he wrote hundreds of posts in flawless English.
He invited other software developers to help him improve the code, and corresponded with them,
He never revealed any personal details.
Stefan Thomas, a Swiss coder and active community member, graphed the time stamps for each of Nakamoto's bitcoin forum posts and found:
He made almost no posts between the hours of 5 a.m. and 11 a.m. Greenwich Mean Time.
In April, 2011, he sent a note to a developer saying that he had “moved on to other things.” He has not been heard from since.

His birthday is said to be on April 5, 1975 according to this post.
(But it is likely that he didn't select his real birth-date)

His writing is clean, with few typos.
He shows a high proficiency in English. Making very few mistakes.
After his first post, in which he used American spelling, he switched to English spelling for all the rest.

Title: Electronic Cash Without a Trusted Third Party

Abstract: A purely peer-to-peer version of electronic cash would allow
online payments to be sent directly from one party to another without the
burdens of going through a financial institution.  Digital signatures
offer part of the solution, but the main benefits are lost if a trusted
party is still required to prevent double-spending.  We propose a solution
to the double-spending problem using a peer-to-peer network.  The network
timestamps transactions by hashing them into an ongoing chain of
hash-based proof-of-work, forming a record that cannot be changed without
redoing the proof-of-work.  The longest chain not only serves as proof of
the sequence of events witnessed, but proof that it came from the largest
pool of CPU power.  As long as honest nodes control the most CPU power on
the network, they can generate the longest chain and outpace any
attackers.  The network itself requires minimal structure.  Messages are
broadcasted on a best effort basis, and nodes can leave and rejoin the
network at will, accepting the longest proof-of-work chain as proof of
what happened while they were gone.

Satoshi

Was Satoshi a good coder ?

It was pretty good: I'd give it a grade of B+. The worst problem was that there were only a few, huge files, but if you ignored that then it made a lot of sense. It was written in (then-)modern C++, clearly with a lot of care. It was clearly not written in a stream-of-consciousness manner. There were very few bugs that you could blame on lack of programming skill.

My personal suspicion in this area is that Satoshi was never (or not recently) a full-time programmer, but he was pretty familiar with computer science (maybe a student or academic?), and he'd read some comprehensive C++ book just before starting on Bitcoin, so he made full and correct usage of C++ features in a slightly messy way.

Lots of people have been suspected of being Satoshi:

People who corresponded with him have all been named as suspects:

‎Hal Finney, Martti Malmi,  Adam Back, Michael Marquardt, Gavin Andresen and Wei Dai.

But in doing so are we minimising those individuals own contribution to Bitcoin.
They may not be the founder but they are the apostles.

Bitcoin is a collaboration of efforts based on a combination of ideas all consolidated in this whitepaper
It was then executed by a group of individuals, both identified and anonymous.

Many threads with some compelling arguments have been made about it.

I'm not going to duplicate the theories but have instead provided the links to various theories on here:

Mr Wright has also demonstrated this verification in person to The Economist—and not just for block 9, but block 1. Such demonstrations can be stage-managed; and information that allows us to go through the verification process independently was provided too late for us to do so fully. Still, as far as we can tell he indeed seems to be in possession of the keys, at least for block 9. This assessment is shared by two bitcoin insiders who have sat through the same demonstration: Jon Matonis, a bitcoin consultant and former director of the Bitcoin Foundation, and Gavin Andresen
https://ftalphaville.ft.com/2016/05/02/2160632/oh-my-craig-wrights-keys-of-revelation/

This in combination to the claims made in the Dave Kleiman Estate lawsuit against Craig Wright makes Dave Kleiman the current most plausible suspect.

Craig Wright filed a motion to dismiss

But I'm still skeptical of the claim because it is reliant on Craig Wrights testimony. In my opinion he has a $54 million reason to lie.

Craig Wrights MtGox account also is not that of a "whale" https://np.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/4hx3q9/according_to_the_mtgox_leaks_from_early_2014_our/

Wright also claimed to have a  PhD in computer science with Sydney's Charles Sturt University (CSU). But the university denied ever handing him a Phd.

Cybersecurity firm Wizsec dismisses the Wright claims on which the Kleiman lawsuit is based as "fantasy" https://blog.wizsec.jp/2018/02/kleiman-v-craig-wright-bitcoins.html

My conclusion:

I rather not know. I think the mystery makes it more intriguing. Some legends are better as legends. Like Merlin and Robin Hood.

705  Local / Hors-sujet / Re: La NZ cet eldorado ? on: June 08, 2020, 09:09:43 PM

Aucunes taxes, rien nada !

Anyone that's arrested should of course be treated well but maintaining control of the suspect was still necessary, especially if he resisted and was acting erratic. The issue of negligence could be made when Chauvin placed his knee on the back of Floyd's neck for too long, but he's being charged with 2nd degree murder so a prosecution is going to have to prove intent. Because handcuffed suspects can still pose a threat, the prosecution has an uphill battle to go through considering the fact Floyd died of essentially a heart attack, not strangulation.

Yes the deceased had a previous heart condition, yes he was under the influence of drugs.
Would he have died that day, just walking on the pavement, going by his day if the police didnt restrain and suffocate him ? That is the question to answer.

The cop is charged with 2nd-degree murder but also to 3rd-degree manslaughter (easier to prove).

I'll  copy this here :
Quote
Dr. Stephen Nelson, chairman of Florida’s medical examiners commission, agreed. Even if someone with severe heart disease died of a heart attack during a purse-snatching, “we’d still call it a homicide,” he said.

Also, on an almost funny note :
Quote
“The coronavirus had nothing to do with his death, that’s the important thing.”

(FYI the autopsy deteced that Floyd, had Covid19, but it didn't kill him)
Quote
The autopsy says Floyd tested positive for the new coronavirus on April 3 and that a nose swab during the autopsy found signs of the virus

At OP, sorry for your loss.
You are clearly not a "newbie",  you account has been created today to ask about this electrum issue.
Newbies don't magically have an old version of electrum with BTC in it.

The reasons behind the "new" throwaway account are not important.
What is important to see here is that even intermediate to experienced users could get phished.

Luckily it was just $200 and not dozen of thousands.

Damnit brave, why would you do that ?
I've just tried it on my phone and a search for binance does redirect to the official site without a ref link.
They must have fixed it, or it may not affect all the countries the same.

Anyway, it is disappointing, but not yet big enough to make me change back to safari or chrome.
I like the fact that it is fast, and that most adds are blocked by default.

713  Other / Off-topic / Re: Which company's phone and laptop do you use? on: June 07, 2020, 09:02:26 PM

Dell Inspiron laptop and Xiaomi phone since I lost my iPhone a few weeks back. Love the Dell, hate the Xiaomi. The hardware is good but the MIUI Android (Chinese ROM) is horrible.

If you are an iPhone user you cannot get used to Android phones especially the Xiaomi ones.
Xiaomi phones are one of the most value for money purchases in the market right now and the MIUI is pretty simple to use for any Android user.

For work purpose I have a cheap samsung A10 (just to make phone calls).
Bur for personal use I have an Iphone.

For work purpose I have  a windows HP laptop (quite good).
For personal use I have macbook pro
For crypto purpose I have a Linuix machine on a Dell vostro rugged

My watch is an apple watch, my headset are apple earpods.

I genuinely think that apple laptop + apple phone + apple watch and apple earpods is an awesone combo.
It is expensive, but do last for a while (macbook is 2013, Iphone 7 is from 2016).

Better for you translate all the sentence by yourself and all the topic while you in there,
I'm not going to waste my time translating everything. But to sum up, it is something like this :
- You ask yogg if Ashe is your cousin in an unrelated topic.
- You and Yogg are arguing...
- You get angry and you make threats.
The next day, I split the off topic part and locks it up.
Am I right?

Ha and why did you move this topic to the US section ? You were hoping that topic would be deleted ?

- It wasn't a direct death threat, just a way of saying "You're an idiot".
- I would have had a report from mikmrc, or the topic would have gotten out of hand, maybe I would have split or deleted it.

And for this case, here's the archive : https://archive.fo/QRt3c#selection-4891.6-4891.13

as some one who is not even an American, I would suggest you refrain from telling us how it is in our own country.

I find it funny coming from an American to say that non-americans shouldn't be allowed to have comments about America

Shall I remind you that for the past 30 years Murica has had a word to say on every single  country / coup / revolution in the world.

Donald Trump is tweeting everyday multiple times about Russia and China, without being Chinese or Russian.

My wife is American, can you please let me know if I am allowed to talk to her and exchange ideas, or no ?

I only see one solution to restore democracy in the USA,  Murica should invade the US. (source Twitter)
It makes total sense,  the US has oil, and there are "unrest" and riots,  so the Americans must invade themselves to bring democracy.
Logic this what you guys have done for the past 30 years.
720  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 'Trump Designates Antifa "A Terrorist Organization"' on: June 04, 2020, 12:58:31 AM
Good on you! I believe that more people ~snip~

I stopped when I realized that the shift against police was being purposely turned trendy to weaponize it to sow division and create chaos, also when everyone suddenly thought it was ok to hate all police. It became propaganda, not just reality based criticism. Weird how people act like you are the enemy when they get treated like the enemy isn't it?

I would like to thank you for developing a great answer to my questions.
You are 100% correct, the overgeneralization of a "minority" is never a good idea.

10 bad cops in NYC, doesn't mean that all the cops in all the states are crooked, black (or Hispanic) killers.
This week, the world discovered the "basketball" cops and his newly founded charity.

In the same time, 10 bad Muslims doesn't mean that 1.2 billion people are terrorists.
And 10 white American "lone wolf shooters" doesn't mean that all the white Americans like to shoot kids at uni for sporting.

Shortcuts are always the recipe for fuck ups.

Please quote exactly the statement where I defended dirty cops.

I guess It was a shortcut from me.
you are against all the "good" people expressing their 1st by peacefully walking the street against cops brutality.
Hence you are "for" what they are against.
The whole situation isn't all black and white (not referring to skin color here).

I am pro-freedom of speech, however when there in nation wide civil unrest which is directly endangering the lives of thousands of people, possibly millions if it expands, then the protestors should go home, at least until the rioting stops. These people, if not violent criminal themselves, are directly and in some cases purposely serving as direct cover for rioting.

This is what these ANTIFA cowards do. They come to protests of ANY KIND left or right, hide among the crowd, pop out and beat, stab, burn, and steal. Then they slip away back into the masses to escape. ANTIFA is also closely affiliated and organized with BLM. They also share some funding sources. These are not innocent protests. This is PR cover for violent unrest.

This is the exact issue of these "solidarity" walks.
And this happens in all states in all countries and for whatever the purpose of the walk is.
you will always find people that go there to cause unrest, destruction, intimidation.

however, calling all the peaceful walkers terrorists is something else.

People need to wake the fuck up quick and realize this is an organized effort to destabilize our nation and soften it up for it being taken down. Take a look at the historical patterns used in "color revolutions" all over the world. A more recent example is "The Arab Spring". That is happening here, and it is NOT organic. This is NOT going to result in anything you like. What it will however result in is society breaking down, and death, destruction, poverty, and starvation becoming commonplace, but you can at least rest assured that you were trying to fight for justice when that does happen.

More media propaganda exposed...

"No Tear Gas Used Ahead of Trump’s Church Visit: Police"

https://www.theepochtimes.com/no-tear-gas-used-ahead-of-trumps-church-visit-police_3374470.html

Something is going up, someone is taking advantage of this unrest for political purposes.
Who ? this is the 1 billion $ question.

Final point, if I was in the USA (I'm not). I would definitely live in a major city, probably not NYC, Memphis, LA or any of those huge one.
Something a little bit low key, more family, smaller.
I would definitely, in support of the family of the deceased, partake in a peaceful walk. Definitely go home as soon as the unrest start.
I would feel betrayed by the government if, by doing so, I was accused of terrorism by affiliation.

Once something or someone is defined as a terrorist, aiding, assisting, supporting it makes of yourself a terrorist.
So much for a 1 st amendment.
