701  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why Herbalists Live Longer than Christains on: February 02, 2024, 07:41:49 PM
Most of the things you said may be agreed by some people and disagreed by others. But apart from the reasons you gave that tend to support that Christians die earlier than traditionalist but I don't really accept that myself because I know of some traditionalist who have died younger too. To the morals of healthy living, Christians have changed, they have been reoriented on staying healthy. They go for check-up and are told what they need to keep staying healthy.

703  Economy / Economics / Re: Why does a country borrow money from the world bank even when they can afford it on: February 02, 2024, 04:03:02 PM
It is cheaper to borrow money than to run the cost of printing. For example if you want to print new currency in a country, it is not very cheap especially when the quantity you want to print can as well be given to you/country as borrow and you can quickly get onto the project that it is meant for. In order words, it is faster to use borrowed money to start a project than going through the legislative bottle kneck of printing money. Therefore, apart from the fact that it is cheaper in cost to printing money, it is faster to get things done with the money.

Another possible point is that it is targeted on a particular project or certain project which gives room for accountability assuming it was properly utilized without corruption and going into private pocket.

Another point again is that it makes lesser noise and doesn't raise curiosity in the public sphere only that money is being borrowed than when a government embarks on printing money. If government embarks on printing money, it creates more fear, doubt and uncertainty about what is happening to the economy of that country, perhaps they are being bankrupte or such kind of fear.

Government doesn't really like to print money or it is not really a good economic policy to print money if it is not expedient.

Then , when money is printed, it could increase the inflation rate if not properly managed and controlled. So, it is more serene to hear of borrowing than printing economically.
704  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there any fun in losing while gambling on: February 02, 2024, 02:07:00 PM

But if you use more than 30% of your gambling budget and lose, it's very painful.

To do that takes a big heart and this is not healthy way to gamble. It is a greedy step and someone who is taking such risk should be sure to understand the risk on that because if that fails, the gambler will look very sad. However, there are high stakers that never mind such consequences and will go on to take such risk.

Betting for fun is not when you have used a high risk on your bankroll, you can only have peace with yourself if you have gambled a very low amount incase of losing.
705  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: The cost of federal university fees on: February 02, 2024, 01:29:11 PM
I don't know how far about the student loan that was promised by this administration even though personally I have my negative disliking about it because after the loan, how do you repay where there is no job?

Well about the high cost of education especially in the government owned universities, it will be a miracle if tuition fees are cheaper when other aspect of sector is crashing with inflation. So the educational system is part of the whole gamuts of the challenges of bad leadership and corruption bedevilling the Nigerian economy.
706  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for February on: February 02, 2024, 07:37:35 AM
The chart is still bullish from Op and that has been the trend over few months from the ending of last year. So I don't see the price going down until the halving in April. The demand for bitcoin is creating more stronger support because more new investors are rushing in for the bull expectation, so they are buying and hodling in expectation of a margin profit.

I expect that this month will also end in bullish candle to lead into stronger support levels for next month in march.
707  Economy / Economics / Re: Business/Entrepreneurship. on: February 02, 2024, 06:46:08 AM

So, if you had the opportunity to invest your money into something would it be to start up something regardless of the amount of risks that come with it, or would you rather open a business or make a simple investment into assets?

Of course before you begin a business venture, you would look into your risk to losses and profit expectation because you don't jump into something you don't have an idea what you will see there. Before you go inside a tunnel you already know it is round in shape, or you don't deep your fingers inside fire. Therefore, every business entrepreneur has to do a survey of the business arena they are going to and see if the capital at hand can even sustain the business at the time it is still going under the teething stage. Usually, businesses are to be allowed 6 months of breathing space without salary, so payment of salary and other miscellaneous are to be provided for before the business starts yielding.
708  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: To what extent have you hated yourself due to your gambling losses? on: February 01, 2024, 09:07:22 PM
I don't feel that way because of losing because I understand gambling is not what you will be optimistic about to win but however, I do feel very bad if I allow a cash out to disappear in my eyes  Grin and I ended up losing the game. This happens in football when the cash out is available and I become indecisive to go for the smaller profit against waiting for the full payment, thus losing such makes me feel bad and regretful.
709  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: VPN - Differences between countries where gambling is legal and not on: February 01, 2024, 07:37:36 PM
Hi, guys

Maybe I actually want to ask how do countries that legalize gambling protect gamblers? Does the country have a special institution to regulate gambling? Or does the state legalize gambling just to collect taxes and not pay much attention to legal protection for gamblers?

Talking about protecting gamblers, a country that has not ban gambling but have regulated it, it means they have perhaps licensed gambling companies to operate in their jurisdiction and there must be a way that gamblers have to lay reports against the gambling company if they have issues with them.

In Nigeria for example when you are talking about offline gaming and gambling, National Lottery Regulatory Commission is in charge and controls the activities of gambling. They can sanction, revoke license or prosecute criminality against the company.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/iclg.com/practice-areas/gambling-laws-and-regulations/nigeria/amp

if there is no significant difference then there is no difference from countries that prohibit gambling because VPN can be used to bypass.

VPN is mainly used to bypass the countries IP. This may not be an issue if a casino is sincere that they won't penalize when they find that out but for a casino not wanting VPN, at the request of KYC they may block the account.
710  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe visiting a seer or spiritual house could make you win a game? on: February 01, 2024, 06:58:00 PM
Well there are gamblers who prays just to win their bet, most of them are sportsbetters who prays during the match especially when it's a close fight. I personally don't believe on it and also don't care what other people do just to win their gambling activity. I believe that one thing that you can get if you pray or doing some spiritual stuff is the relaxation. The calm mind and relax composure is what logically help us gamblers win the games. Being relaxed is a factor on different gambling games such as poker, it also help us analyze the information when we are doing research on sportsbetting.

If we somehow find gamblers who prays on a real casino, it is just better to mind our own business because it is their belief.

Praying while gambling is very funny because prayer is what we use to communicate and request from God for help and God doesn't support or like gambling, an example is in the bible where he chased gamblers out of the synagogue. So how is he going to respond to such prayer when he is rebuking gamblers.

Also, sports is man made and other games including casino games and God does not have business in man made arrangements. So to pray while gambling is a waste of time because God won't condescend to that and I have seen many gamblers who pray while their game is on but that is done in ignorance. Prayer is important but it has no place in God's line of action.
711  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The best way to fight insecurity in our society on: February 01, 2024, 05:43:42 PM
Exactly. To tackle insecurity, we need to go beyond just using the military. It's about making things fair, sorting out the economy, and giving everyone a shot at a good life. Wars might not be the smartest move in the long haul. We should focus on making things right from the ground up like fair rights, fair play, and fixing the economy. That way, people feel more chill and we've got better chances at keeping the peace. Creating jobs, improving social stuff, that's the real deal in wiping out insecurity.

Social justice is an idea that will reduce the level of insecurity. I won't be saying insecurity will be gone totally because certain individuals will always create chaos in the society but larger number of people are conformers. Those who don't conform are the mafias, the rebels that causes nuisances in the society. So to have an equitable distribution of resources and welfare for all will be a resolution to insecurity threats. Creating employment employment opportunities for the youth reduces struggle for freedom and agitation for change of government.
712  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The scam of FAKE fixed matches on: February 01, 2024, 03:50:12 PM

A match is fixed by a team and a gambler, so those who bet for this team are cheated. It is not possible to tell with the naked eye which match is being fixed and which match is being played normally. A small mistake in a match is enough to fix the match. Many bettors may have been duped into thinking that the team they bet on has colluded with another bettor to fix the match.

Anyway, if match is being fixed it will be difficult for everyone to know. Match fixing is not speculated at the heat of the league where every team is struggling for a place first or during the group stage where they are still trying to go over each other because no one wants to drop any point. So people begin to speculate match fixing during the ending of the league when the relegating teams are beginning to show and those not in need of the points are known. Usually between the top on the table and buttom teams, that is speculative but it only stays at that most times with no prove because it is an offence when it is found out.
713  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is skill key to success! on: February 01, 2024, 03:01:02 PM

I think it is also a skill what do you call it ? It's a combination of various attributes that often leads to success. Maybe its depend on their faith. But you have to keep trying for success.

No I don't think it is all about faith because faith without work is amounting to nothing but frustration. You can't have only faith when you have not worked out something for yourself in expectation of the positive manifestation of the faith. Working out something is that skill that you have acquired that will lead you to success. You can't be in a revered office if you have not equipped yourself with very good skill that will make you be in high demand.

We don't have to rely on faith and wishing for miracle to happen when we have not prepared ourselves for the challenges ahead. So the ways to acquire these skills is to go to school and study some discipline where you can master the courses and become a professional in it or you can go into direct tutelage under a master who would put you through certain secrets of the process and with time you master it. Therefore, learn something, go to study and have a skill it will help in the future.
714  Other / Off-topic / Re: Before you start gambling, do some research first on: February 01, 2024, 02:34:44 PM
Maybe this is based on what I have only seen, because I can't see everything, gambling addicts are the hardest to change, try all you can, if it work it's because the person wanted to change by all means, most addicted gamblers only dream of changing but they can't just help themselves, this ones are the hardest, they can even turn your worst enemy if you take things too far with them.

Also believe that a gambler addict changes because it is time for them to reconsider their habit and their mindset is telling them to stop, so at that stage any little effort on them to stop will work but if they are not yet considering it but only thinking of how to recover their loses and probably win some jackpots, you probably would try longer. There is time in the moment of a gambling addict that he wants to come out of it, so don't try to force it too much, just try but if it doesn't work then let go at the time and try some other time.
715  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Proverbs and Sayings that Act as Triggers to Gambling on: February 01, 2024, 01:38:05 PM
What I know about gambling quote is that majority of them talk about life existence and comparing it with gambling. People say that the life you are living is like also gambling. They say some people don't want to do risky jobs that is life threatening because they don't want to jeopardize their lives but that they can also die just by sleeping, by exercising, fighting or accidentally. It has been compared to taking risk, most gamblers see it as a risk that they take and that they are wiser by taking risk than someone who does not gamble. So life is a risk, gamble is just like life.
716  Economy / Economics / Re: Quitting Smoking Has Two Big Benefits. on: February 01, 2024, 12:25:56 PM

And the strong reason I stopped smoking was because my wife likes to nag me if I smoke at home because I have small children, and over time I decided to stop smoking. And previously I tried it several times but failed, and now I haven't smoked for more than 3 months and I hope I can do it forever because it has two extraordinary benefits. Health and can increase my investment.

There are different reasons that we stop some habit and family is one of the reasons like it has happened to you and now you are benefiting it, using money that you would have used for wasteful escapade.

There are people who stop such because of health reasons caused by excessive drinking of alcohol and they were diagnosed of certain organ failure. The point is certain challenges we go through may be caused by our actions and we could also be lucky to benefit from it like you have succeeded to channel your loses in smoking into gains in bitcoin investment.
717  Economy / Economics / Re: A course worth studying ? on: February 01, 2024, 11:09:06 AM
These days people don't rely on what they have studied for financial success but they acquire more skills in life and that is what is needed to succeed just like we say to have diversified means of resources is better than having a single source of income. People these days don't rely on just one skill so having economies as a study just gives you the economic knowledge base and you can study any discipline in higher level in masters. There are people who studied second degree after the first degree in a separate discipline.

5. Gambling Community as Support
When things go tough, some people become shy to ask for help and to seek for suggestions. But the more that you are hesitating to reach out, the more that you have to do it. Gambling community such as this forum can help you in various ways.

This is a very good idea for especially newbies. Some newbies hid away from people knowing that they are losing and they keep dying in silence instead of asking for support. You don't stay out from people who have past through the bizarre experience that you are having, you only need to extend your hands by asking for the solution of the gambling challenges you are facing. For instance interms of continuous losses, a gambler need to reduce his wager habit and observe what he is not doing right instead of playing with revenge and aggression by increasing his risk which will lead to further losses. So it is better relying on advise and suggestions of experienced gamblers in the game you wager mostly.
719  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe visiting a seer or spiritual house could make you win a game? on: February 01, 2024, 08:13:03 AM
I don't personally believe in superstitious belief, voodoo, witchcraft and any spiritual help from gambling because those magic things were created by demons based on the holy scriptures depending on our belief. I also found it inaccurate but sometimes it coincides with winnings but yeah I still consider it hitting the luck and no whatsoever. I see people using these things here in my place but they still have nothing to prove as non of them became millionaires through it.

Just like what Solomon said in the bible, vanity on vanity. We have to ask ourselves all those seers and spiritual heads how many are rich or they don't like to be rich or perhaps they don't like to gamble? They could have used the influence of seeing the outcome of matches to bet hugely and hit the biggest jackpots but if this is not happening to them, it is not because they are not trying or whether their children or relatives are not trying but because it all goes back to luck and what will be will surely be. Gambling is you win some and you lose some but if you are bent on winning every time, you are surely going to keep losing.
720  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: gambling for fun vs gambling for the financial benefit. on: February 01, 2024, 07:02:27 AM

Gambling is more like investing in some Altcoins, if it happens to give profits fine and if it doesn't also good but we don't also say we rely on our Altcoins investment to carryout expenses on our cost of living.
I don't agree if gambling is equated with altcoin investment. because altcoins still have clear programs and good management. different from gambling which only relies on the luck factor.
Or is it possible that the altcoin investment you mean here is investing in memecoin?

I think what that means is that altcoins performance is not predetermined maybe like bitcoin that is expected to rise anytime halving is around and the rise of altcoins has to follow suit if at all because some are shit coins so it is that rate of shitcoins that gambling is compared with altcoins. Memecoins are not to be relied on actually like gambling is not to be relied on so when investing on it you have to take the risk you can bear and gamble as you can bear also.
