721  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Halving block date can change ? on: February 26, 2016, 08:20:57 PM
when the hashrate suddenly increase the diff need time to readjust, this can lead to more block mined than usual, more coins per day, and this will result in a fast halving date

so the fee era is probably much early than many think, still not early enough for us to be there

I do not think that more big miners will start mining before the halving, they may wait after the halving happen to see if they will be able to get their ROI or the btc price will be the same will more mining difficulty.

that's would be a dumb move, don't you think? why wait and start mining after it's harder to get more bitcoins?
722  Economy / Reputation / Re: Question about negative trust on loan on: February 26, 2016, 08:06:27 PM
Hi..
I just wanna buy a account which has neg trust because of a defaulted loan.

Questions:

1. Will the negative trusts be removed after I pay the defaulted loan?

maybe. depends on the user who gave the account a negative feedback.
723  Other / Meta / Re: Yobit Sig noob multiaccounts out of control? on: February 26, 2016, 05:47:47 PM
I am also tempted to do a one liner on some of my post,I have seen a lot of signature campaigner doing that thing not only on Yobit, but I don't want to be categorize as spammer and beside they are paying me to contribute and they clearly stated their spam policy..

few words posts doesn't always mean that they are low quality/nonconstructive posts (although they may look a little spammy if you do too many in very short time.).
you don't have to make a great wall of text if you can deliver your point or answer the question in 10 words or less.
724  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Halving block date can change ? on: February 26, 2016, 05:43:30 PM
I see but what if more miners or to be more specific "more mining farms" appears before the halving block reward , will that make the process faster or not ? or that will make it more difficult to mine and basically  we will get to halving slower instead of faster ?  Huh

it should be faster. but not very much because the difficulty changes depending on how fast the last 2016 blocks were mined. and more miners means more hashrate and that in turn means faster mining and even more difficulty. so it shouldn't even make it even a week faster unless they throw some huge mining power in.
725  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Halving block date can change ? on: February 26, 2016, 04:31:16 PM
Halving block reward dates are stable and happens exactly each 4 years ? Or this is just an estimated date ?
According to this website for example : http://thehalvening.com/#1 , Halving block reward should be on 13 July , could this date change ? (after or before) and what could cause the changes ? having more miners should get things faster , no ?

it's just an estimated date on when the 420000th block will be mined. the block reward halves every 210000 blocks. the total mining hashrate and the difficulty can affect this estimation. it doesn't happen every 4 years exactly, but the algorithm makes it happen approximately every 4 years.
726  Other / Meta / Re: Old account banned - have no idea why! on: February 26, 2016, 04:10:57 PM
I see someone (maybe you) reset the password of that account using the secret question. that can get your account locked (not banned.)

Quote
February 09, 2016, 07:59:47 PM - sickhouse - password reset via secret question

if it says your account is locked, just send an email and wait.
if not then you are banned and is not allowed to post anywhere on this forum other that in this thread during the duration of your ban.
the duration and the reason of your ban should be included in the ban message (no duration means permanent.). that is IF you're banned.
727  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How to check a large amount of bitcoin addresses on: February 25, 2016, 09:42:58 PM
http://www.satoshiquiz.com/easybalance/easybalance.html
tried it with 490 addresses and worked. took around 9 minutes (I think 490 seconds because I set it to 1 second delay). don't have the time to fetch thousands of bitcoin addresses so excuse me for not trying that.
728  Other / Meta / Re: Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ on: February 25, 2016, 08:53:17 PM
Came across a list of rules on avatar by theymos: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1011789.msg10977206#msg10977206

Should this be added?

I thought there was already a simplified version of it here... guess not.
so yeah, adding that would be a good idea. and the required rank too. people asks that frequently enough to make it a FAQTongue
729  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Manyproofs scammed me - HOW TO GET MY ACCOUNT BACK on: February 25, 2016, 06:51:16 PM
that was fast. post proof using the proper format and sign message using an address that was posted by that account before.
730  Other / Meta / Re: The Rules for user Avatar. on: February 25, 2016, 06:42:19 PM
(should've made it simple and said that it's not allowed. )  Undecided

you can just go on with the current one. if it you get a warning or the avatar gets removed then you know that they're not allowed.

edit:
obviously your avatar is adult content.

edit2:
oh and nudity is not allowed. forgot about that. you can remove your avatar now.

732  Other / Meta / Re: Flagging old bumped threads. on: February 25, 2016, 06:25:53 PM
Out of pure curiosity, what is so taboo about replying to old threads? I assume people do it at least some of the time because there's an interesting point buried in there.

it's allowed as long as the bumper bring something new and/or constructive to the thread. the ones that gets deleted are mostly posts by users that have sig ad who's posting something that have already been posted before on the thread just for their signature payment. or sometimes by newbies who doesn't know the rules and posting something entirely out off topic or low quality. in rare cases I see users ranked above full member and their posts rarely gets deleted because they have no sig ad (I think this one depends on the mod of that section.).

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1372499.msg13963671#msg13963671

theymos' answer for adult content was "maybe". fyi. but nudity is a no no.
IMHO your current avatar is too... ehh.. vulgar.
734  Other / Meta / Re: Flagging old bumped threads. on: February 25, 2016, 05:29:38 PM
report to moderator? you can't really flag/mark threads (could be a nice addition on the new forum I think).

maybe you should clarify what it is that you want to be done so that we can figure out if there's a workaround.
735  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Martingale Profitable ??? on: February 25, 2016, 05:28:53 PM
Instead of martingale I would rather recommend using another variation of similar (in theory) system - Paroli.
Paroli is a system, which rather than decreasing the wager on a win like the Martingale method, increases the wager after a win.
It involves doubling your wager after a win and resetting it back to your original wager after a loss, and after 3 consecutive wins, going back to your original wager.
I prefer this method because it is less risky than martingale and I like small but consistent wins.

I've seen a lot of high rollers do that (people call that reverse martingale. same thing?). some of them win big and others lost miserably. still not much different from martingale as it relies on a winning streak and losing even once can cost a lot (in martingale one long losing streak can do the job but it is less likely to happen.).
736  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Martingale Profitable ??? on: February 25, 2016, 03:31:51 PM
Initially it is profitable, but henceforth always lose. and really work on short-term.

no. no no no no no. no.
it's still depends on your luck. you can bust on the first try. so no, it doesn't really work on short-term.
737  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Martingale Profitable ??? on: February 25, 2016, 03:04:26 PM
it can be profitable if you're lucky and know when to stop. most of the time it is not profitable though.

It is profitable for the casino where you play at because you will lose all your money.  Smiley

I've made something like 400k rolls 'martingaling', could lose 22 in a row, if I recall correctly, didn't bust, but with so many rolls the probability of busting is already quite high.

I got 26 losses in a row once. granted it happened on a questionable site (999dice). but I still think that's possible. lost about 1.5BTC (iirc) that I got from the same site.

I think the record on just-dice was 34 losses at 49.5%. Technically, you could have infinite losses, but this is not very probable.

wow. that's got to be a lot of losses even if you start with 1 satoshi. if you multiply by 2 on each loss you'll bust, how much, around 150 300BTC? my head hurts just thinking about that.

739  Economy / Speculation / Re: Welcome back $410 on: February 25, 2016, 02:44:48 PM
Up and down the price is changing so fast hope it don't raise to fast. Some services can't survive if it will too high.

what do you mean by that? increased price shouldn't make people close their services. they'll just adjust according to the price.
740  Economy / Economics / Re: Does the Price of Bitcoin Matter? on: February 25, 2016, 02:38:16 PM
it does matter because low price will make mining unprofitable to most. but that's not the only thing that make the price matters. the price is also very important for bitcoin itself. bitcoin was made as a currency and value is very important aspect of currency.
