So how do I estimate how long till the respec? Will it still be Fridayish?
Not quite that soon. Hard to say for sure, but block 131,913 should fall sometime Saturday, maybe Sunday. That is when the new coin spec kicks in. Reduced block rewards and increased block times should get the mining pools off our back for awhile; KittehCoin will be significantly less profitable to mine at current exchange rates. |

nobody could get the coins on and sell them for those crazy prices of 1000+ satoshi. that happens every time a new coin comes out. i think cryptsy employees buy up before they add ....and sell to make crazy profits.
agreed some shady shit definitely shady...but without regulation you can basically do whatever you want That *might* be what's going on -- but I'm guessing it's something more like automated load-testing on a new market before they open it to the public |

Which pools though? If you add all the pool hash rates up they only total under 1GH/s. Are you sure you checked them all? There are alot of MEOW pools . . . Don't forget the multipools as well, [Suspicious link removed], multipool.us, and (maybe) Middlecoin Plus, there are probably still people with larger rigs solo-mining Yeah that's what I thought. Do you think the 5GH overall net rate is correct then? Yes, I'm confident the value returned by getnetworkhashps in the "debug" console (also what the pools use under 'net hash rate') is correct. It has been swinging from ~2GH to ~14gh for the past several days now. |

How are you obtaining the network hashrate? Benjaminsd does not return it with getmininginfo nor with getnetworkhashps (which is why my pool's net hashrate is inaccurate) |

I'm supporting Kittehcoin since the very beginning, but I fear that if the relaunch does not include a new diff retarget algorithm, we will have once again the same story of multipools switching on/off it and making this coin stuck in a high diff for multiple hours if not a days.
This didn't really happened yet because this coin is only listed on coinedup and hashcow "only" has 2GH/s. Once it will be listed on coinwarz and cryptsy/coinex, middlecoin will start to hit it, doubling or tripling the net hashrate easily, if not more.
Diff will then jump to something like 300 to 500 after only a few minutes, and then everybody will stop mining it, letting the coin stuck to this diff for maybe one full day (see the catcoin story).
Again, this didn't happen yet because kittehcoin is only listed on coinedup.
Even fedoracoin which didn't have this kind of problem on coinedup now has it, with a very short 10 blocks retarget diff.
The only thing that could avoid this problem without a proper diff retarget algo, is already having 20 or 30 GH/s on the network without major multipools, like what DOGE had 3 or 4 weeks ago.
I agree the Multipools *SUCK* in this regard but it shouldn't be too big of a problem with KittehCoin. Diff retarget is already pretty short at 1hr, even if the hashrate tripled and then backed off to "normal" we would only be looking at a 3hr retarget window to get back to the proper diff. |

You don't need to worry, I don't know when they are upgrading their wallet but it should have ZERO impact on your coins. I have coins there too, so if they f* it up I'll know!
