741  Economy / Economics / Re: Vietnam Becomes Latest Country to Turn to Crypto on: July 06, 2021, 07:26:11 AM
They're turning to a central bank issued coin, not a decentralised coin. Calm down people.

The fact of the matter is that the Vietnamese government is still entirely restrictive when it comes to decentralised cryptos. There is no intention on lifting the bans on these coins, and exchanges find it very hard to set up shop there.

It seems like another cheap way of raising revenue for the government much like the Petro in Venezuela, by riding the hype crypto has been getting. Absolutely not worth getting into as an investor if they do decide to go ahead with a national crypto, especially with their track record of high inflation.
742  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has anybody ever used pnxbet? on: July 06, 2021, 06:28:08 AM
Highly suggest that you steer away from them especially if you are playing with a large volume of cash.

There is a reason why the 1xbit brand is so looked down upon on this forum. Its reputation and track record of freezing accounts and dishonouring bets have been way too bad for there to be any merit in playing with anyone remotely affiliated with 1xbit.

There are much better alternatives in terms of sportsbooks or casinos in the crypto space anyways. Go with them, it's not worth the risk.
743  Economy / Exchanges / Re: YoBit HELP - locked out on: July 06, 2021, 04:43:17 AM
I havent used it sense 2018 when i brought some coins. I was a noobie didnt know anything
check if there is another one that is similar to the one you used on yobit.
i restored a 2FA for yobit trying to use secret key, and it WORKED. im in! super weird. maybe support fixed something.
thanks panic over.

First time I've actually seen Yobit support do anything of value. Roll Eyes

Anyway, I would definitely warn against continuing to use them just to echo the sentiments of others.

Their support is virtually nonexistent and their business model is literally based off a few ponzis that they run (the Rise-Only-Markets) and the listing fees that they charge on crappy tokens. Nobody knows where they are incorporated or if they are even regulated at all.
744  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you know the Cards game..lucky nine, pusoy and tong its on: July 06, 2021, 01:09:04 AM
I find these more exotic games a lot more entertaining than just plain dice, actually.

I used to play a lot of these local games on Bitsler and other sites (i think it's called Cara Y Cruz?) and have always found that their rules are a lot more intriguing to learn.

It would be fantastic to see some more variation in the crypto gambling space. Dice was a fresh concept but not anymore. It's time for casinos to integrate these local games into their system - they'll probably stand to benefit from the increased traffic, too.
745  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Feedback on the Blackjack Trainer by Bojoko on: July 05, 2021, 08:51:12 PM
This is precisely what I have been looking for, thank you.

A lot of the other blackjack trainers are either too archaic to be worthwhile or you have to pay for them. Your service is certainly one of a kind.

Though, would it be possible to have a mode that tells you the precise EV of each action given a certain deck and how the cards that are dealt look like? I think that would be even better given that we would be able to see to what extent certain actions hurt us in the long run.
746  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Coinbase don’t allow to withdraw on: July 05, 2021, 04:15:59 AM
Any updates on this, OP?

I'd also suspect that it has to do with long term inactivity which led to Coinbase freezing the funds. I personally think that it's a bit shady for them to make people jump through hoops just because they are inactive, but as long as your friend provides KYC it should be good.

But given the Coinbase IPO their attention is probably diverted towards this short term money grab as opposed to serving their customers (which is already not a focus to begin with). Be prepared to wait.
747  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: To what extent can sport be strengthened with cryptocurrencies on: July 05, 2021, 01:43:00 AM
Given the fact that crypto companies such as Stake are actively endorsing atheletes now, I'd say that the influence of crypto is only going to continue to grow in the sporting world.

I remember that a few NBA players including Spencer Dinwiddie also pledged to convert all of their salary into BTC as soon as they receive it. Which would both generate media attention and actual demand for cryptos.

I would say that it will be only a matter of time before crypto sportsbooks/casinos become so widespread and adopted due to their convenience that traditional ones simply cannot compete anymore and thus the majority of sports sponsorships will be replaced with crypto brands. Bet365, William Hill, etc. will probably start accepting crypto soon too as regulations continue to be clarified.
748  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Recognizing Gambling Disorders, Symptoms of Severe Gambling Addiction on: July 05, 2021, 12:40:45 AM
Very valuable thread.

I think that people have to realise that certain personalities are especially prone to impulse gambling. That's why it is so important to have stop losses when you are playing, make sure that you align your mindset with treating gambling as an entertainment venue rather than a profit making venture, and request voluntary self-exclusion.

I've seen many intelligent people who were chasing their losses or trying to gain quick profits and lose it all - it's not worth it.
749  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: You got a pifzer ? Then you can be eligible for lottery in Poland. on: July 05, 2021, 12:10:53 AM
These are some pretty good incentives.

I personally think that these vaccination incentives which involve an element of chance are certainly very effective, from both a marketing perspective by playing on people's psyche and also from a public helath perspective.

Most people, when presented with a surefire $1 reward or a lottery ticket with 0.1% chance of winning $1,000, will take the latter.

And plus, this is great advertisement for the national lottery post-pandemic. Absolutely a great play.
750  Economy / Lending / Re: Verified Bitcoin bound request starting at 8% interest per year on: July 04, 2021, 10:50:58 PM
Awaiting 2-3 year is very optimistic, mtgox courts continue to this day ..which has been seven years .
But Mt.Gox users had the option to access funds earlier through plateforms like Kraken. The case of Cryptopia is simpler since the plateform in the end was closed because of the drop on trading volume not because of repeated hacks on large funds or getting accounts sized. I don t remember about Mt.Gox being able to register for their funds in less than a year as it s case with Cryptopia.

For Mt.Gox, they are trying to pay everything in fiat so auctionning the Bitcoins through the legal system takes time. With Cryptopia, things should be paid back in crypto (and that s why I can t borrow in fiat because of volatility).

Hey! you compare the duration with the one of a typicall auto loan. Mine is shorter and lower.

Mt. Gox sounded like a fantastic idea... until it wasn't.

How is it guaranteed that the Cryptopia liquidation process is any easier? Is it just based off what their customer support has been telling you, or are there actual legal documents outlining the process? Is this process even overseen by anyone?

Auto loan lenders have access to your credit history, have access to your car as collateral, and reside in the same jurisdiction as you. None of that applies in this instance, and you're saying that the lender bears all risk of default in case of Cryptopia reneging on their promises.
751  Economy / Gambling / Re: ✅🍅 wintomato.com 🍅Dice 🍅 Slots 🍅 Sport Betting on: July 04, 2021, 05:11:16 AM
Site looks down right now for scheduled maintenance. Wonder if that's going to be the start of the sportsbook? Cheesy

I would agree, promoting a sportsbook that you don't even have up and running probably isn't the best idea when it comes to PR.

I can not found Sportsbook on your site? Can I get direct link?

They should probably make it more clear to the public that whilst sports betting is on the agending, it's not available yet. If I read the title of the thread as someone who's not familiar with the site's operations, I would have assumed that it was already an ongoing feature.
752  Economy / Economics / Re: Will banking system in Bangladesh collapse? on: July 04, 2021, 03:03:38 AM
Due to pandemic, there’s lockdown going on here. People are more likely to withdraw fund from Bank while rate of deposit is decreasing now. On a side note, default loan has been alarming here.
I was looking for cash out BDT from mobile banking but I had to look for a long area to find out a mobile banking agent. I felt like I should cash out more money than I need for now because it’s possible that there will be no agent opening their shop.
The same will also happen with the banking system if situation get severe which possibly will be soon. And if the lockdown continues for months, won't bank have hard time maintaining deposit and withdraw?
What do you think? Is it possible that if lockdown continues, banking system will collapse here?

Definitely possible. And these seem to be early signs of an insolvent fractional reserve system.

We have seen this sort of thing happen over and over again. The most recent example would probably be Venezuela, where ATMs are virtually depleted of cash or always in perpetual maintenance, meaning that no one can get out their cash from their banks whilst prices have been skyrocketing.

I certainly would take whatever hedges are available to you. Buying some digital assets, precious metals, or heck even foreign exchange (only if that's the only thing available to you, since themselves are liable to falter) would be a good idea.
753  Economy / Gambling / Re: dappcasino.io - Gambling Dapps & Crypto Casino Reviews on: July 04, 2021, 02:26:10 AM
I see that in the List you have some casinos that I have hardly seen here in the forum, I would like to know if you take into account as a main requirement to choose the TOP what? The Welcome bonus? Perhaps if you focus that the casino gives opportunities to offer to play to those who use VPN and who are in prohibited countries, that I think may be a criterion to take into account.

Here in the forum there have been many complaints due to this, and with large casinos, also many casinos that are excellent have been demanding KYC thanks to their licenses, are these things taken into account?

As for the page, it seems to me that it has a good presentation and is understandable.

Thanks.

I think that they mainly review dApps which means that the casinos that are listed on there should generally be decentralised.

Now obviously, that's going to be different to the top centralised casinos which is the ones that you are generally exposed to on the forum.

As to the VPN restrictions, I think that given a lot of these casinos being reviewed are indeed decentralised, most of them don't even have an area/jurisdiction restriction to begin with the same way centralised casinos do. So not really much of a point in reviewing that aspect.
754  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔥 Bitpr0.com | The Ultimate Crypto Gambling Site Directory on: July 04, 2021, 01:20:21 AM
Anyone else stuck on the loading screen for a long time without any progress?

I've tried with a bunch of browsers including trying to use incognito in Chrome. Each time it just remains stuck there. Perhaps maintenance?

Anyhow, I do dig what I see so far with the previews. The all-in-one solution definitely seems enticing and positions you guys as a very real competitor to most other reviews sites - would be better if I could actually access it, though.  Undecided
755  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Million dollar win on $15 parlay whoa on: July 04, 2021, 12:30:55 AM
Pretty insane for sure.

Perhaps parlaying for very large odds would work out better if the amount of legs were minimised (i.e., the odds on each leg are larger rather having than having a bunch of 1.05x odd legs). This makes sense as low odd bets generally carry a more negative EV compared to the rest.

And that's exactly what the bettor did here as well. A few double digit odds bet and 6 legs only - fair play to him.
756  Economy / Economics / Re: What Binance Market ban is about on: July 03, 2021, 11:24:35 PM
Look, I doubt there is actually anything particularly remarkable about the ban.

The fact of the matter is that Binance, with its current business model at the very least, were always going to be restricted from doing business in certain countries as a matter of time. No country would willingly allow some semi-regulated exchange to be operating in their jurisdiction, pay little to no taxes to their country, and whilst offering virtually annoymous accounts.

AML/KYC is definitely one consideration in that regard, but it's also probably to serve as a warning to others trying to enter the market just as Binance did.

No it’s force majeure https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Force_majeure. In the same vein, virtually all mortgages in my country don’t have to be paid if the company hiring the person goes bankrupt.

Is this a mortgage?
No, but force majeure is limited to loans. Just read the article url.
Disagree for schelling the claim. With screenshots, this looks like an honest loans, but schelling fell in the money mule category.

Up to you. I'm merely giving you my honest advice that it's going to be an absolute waste of time for you to continue to ask around.

I am simply asserting that based on my experience on the lending board there will be no one interested in this. You will have a much better chance (still close to zero, granted) of getting short term funding if you just tried to sell this claim instead.
759  Economy / Speculation / Re: Germany is about to allow legally the funds to invest in crypto, from July 1st on: July 01, 2021, 09:55:14 AM
This is certainly very exciting news.

I think that a lot of funds with really long time horizons such as pension funds would jump at the opportunity to invest in a store of value asset class like BTC that also has long term growth potential. It's also incredibly tax efficient given that you don't have any distributions to pay dividend income tax on.

Hopefully a lot more countries follow suit. A lot of the underperformance of big funds is really caused by these hawkish regulations that demand a certain percentage of bond holdings that bear negative to zero interest that is completely unwarranted.
760  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC Go for Another All Time High This Year? on: July 01, 2021, 09:34:21 AM
Personally think that it is highly doubtful.

Bitcoin has had a very significant run-up over the entire year thus far and I think given the current decline in FOMO it'll be very difficult for any further gains to be made.

I think that it is more likely we'll see a period of consolidation at this $30k level, and then see a period of steady decline into 2022/2023 where usually the hype from the halving dies down, before the resurgence of a bull market heading into 2024/25.
