741  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you gamble because you don't have sufficient money? on: July 23, 2023, 01:31:39 PM
All people do gamble; there are no exceptions, but what I've really noticed as I've grown in a poor area is that most of the poor people, including us, are really doing gambling to try our luck, and mostly this is the lottery. I've mostly noticed poor people are buying more tickets to it than those rich people, but again, because there are more poor people than rich people in the area, we can't really compare both. Still, rich people do gamble also to try their luck, and even though they spend more in casinos just to have fun, unlike the poor, they are taking the risk to win.
742  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My easy way to teach your kids bitcoin. on: July 23, 2023, 11:03:46 AM
This is a good idea to somewhat get them interested in it while having fun watching it, but again, kids are always kids, and they are not serious about this stuff first as they always want to have fun with you or with themselves, which again, we shouldn't force them to do. Videos are really helpful; even an adult can still watch them and have fun with them. Even before I saw this on social media, I watched it multiple times as I am still a kid at heart.
743  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: lost access to my bitcoin wallet... on: July 23, 2023, 09:40:00 AM
The only solution to this is to dig it up with an expert. Let's say you saved it in a text file, then you'll need to find and hire a recovery service for all documents or all files on your drive. Also, don't ever mention that you have bitcoin or that your purpose is to recover your bitcoin wallet, as we don't know if someone you hired will gain access to your wallet. Though you can try to buy a hard drive enclosure and plug it into your PC if it works, if not, you don't have any choice but to do the above.
744  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How was your first experience with gambling? on: July 23, 2023, 07:25:41 AM
Mine was like a trap because I actually got interested in gambling through my friend and the first experience I had what was triggered my gambling today because the first actual game I played I won the bet which made me very interesting to play more and I thank God I had to hold ma self back if not I would have become a gambling addict by now.

Wining is really the one that can trigger addiction, and you also start imagining it, like in your first day, let's say you win $50 and you are now thinking that it can make you a living from it and you aren't thinking of losing. This is my first mindset, really, that it can make me earn money without working much, and I was really blind to losing, but turns out I lost it all.
745  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers Belief on: July 23, 2023, 05:45:27 AM
Because in gambling your belief and point of view can attract good luck, like most gamblers, they always believe that they will win no matter what, as this attracts a good spirit in them to win, which they will get lucky with. Now if you are a negative thinker that you won't win, then that will bring your bad luck in gambling, which you are right won't see in any aspect of life, but again, once you are motivated, you'll think on this so that you'll be successful.
746  Economy / Economics / Re: What are some financial secrets that you know of? on: July 23, 2023, 03:57:38 AM
~snip~

Yep, right, that's what I was trying to do on my first reply, asking for an experienced forum member.
However, I think both are equally important, it's true that an expert is more theoretical, but that's not bad. People with experience may life through a bad financial decision and solve it, but most of the time they wont be able to explain the 'why' and 'how', an expert eventho they are maybe not actually experienced what they say, they most likely will be able to explain the possible action and what will be the risk and benefit of the action they suggest.

I still lean more towards the more experienced, but if you can, you can combine advice from both to make the best decision for you. But in life, there is no better piece of advice than experiencing it all yourself. So that's why I rarely seek advice from others, and I find the answers myself. I mean, I will always take into account the worst case scenario that I will face and if it fails, I will try to start over again until I succeed. Because everyone's life is different, sometimes what works for them may not work for us.

You are really different as you are kind of discovering it by yourself, whereas for me, I always ask for advice, but again, I do not take that advice and also discover it on my own, but that advice is really helpful because I can see what the outcome is, which I do expect. You're right, experience is really the best teacher in the world. That is why most of us only learn a thing if we have already experienced it, as that is the time that it will go deep in our minds, which is sometimes good and sometimes bad.
747  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Teaching Bitcoin is not do or die on: July 23, 2023, 02:38:54 AM
Obviously, teaching bitcoin and engaging into bitcoin is not a do or die. People will always have its freedom of choice whether they take part in bitcoin or just disregard it like most people did. However, if people will be a lot wiser and would be goal driven, then at least they should learn bitcoin and all its life’s benefits in the future. Bitcoin could be our future when fiat comes to depreciate, so at least we’re taking an edge over others.
A wild dream I suppose but its kinda okay to dream because we can assume what we feel might happen in years coming but I doubt if bitcoin can be world reserve as  I take its what you are trying to say. But no doubt bitcoin actually has major role to play in the future in our various field of life especially the finance world.

For sure, we will be cashless in the future, and if the Bitcoin wasn't used, it was their model, or that's where they derived it, because we are now in the age when people want to use only cards, QR, or cash less as they don't want to bring those bills or coins as it can be a faster transaction like there's no change, just use the phone and pay. We really don't know what will happen to Bitcoin in the future, but what I am sure of is that it will hit ATH again in a few years.
748  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think selling your property is better than taking loan? on: July 23, 2023, 01:20:27 AM
A friend contacted me yesterday for some loans, which I declined (with some excuses) because I knew he really had no means of fast repayment. After some time, he called again and requested that I buy his refrigerator or his washing machine instead. Although I don't have a washing machine, but I had no interest in buying anything at that moment, so I contacted another of my friend who bought the refrigerator and the washing machine from that guy.

It's not a surprise that sometimes we find ourselves in emergencies that really require some funds to solve the problem at hand. We all know that life treats everyone differently depending on the country, city, or village in which they find themselves. You can't blame anyone or say it's a result of bad budgeting plans or inability to save for emergencies.

I just decided to put this up here to see what you guys think about it. If you are in a situation that requires some funds immediately, would you go for a loan or would you sell one of your properties to solve the problem? And which of them is a better option, to sell property or to take a loan?

I don't know where you came from, but we both have a double meaning of "property, which is either land or a house, and assets, like appliances or anything that you have that you can sell, like phones or even shoes. I have really experienced this a lot before. When I was too young, my mother would always pawn her phone or ring, but this was only when the amount needed was small because she tended to pay it and was able to get the money. When the amount needed was big, she would take a loan and pay it in installments, but again, this kind of loan has high interest.
749  Economy / Economics / Re: Can your passion lead to an increase in your net worth? on: July 23, 2023, 12:29:32 AM
There are many diverse opinions about following one's passion and wealth. I read two stories of people who followed their passion, and in a short period of time, the businesses became very profitable.

In story 1, Defossey left a job at Apple to open a BBQ restaurant in Mexico City. It made $9 million in sales last year. In story 2, Sean Audet, a 30-year-old, spent $0 launching a food photography side hustle, and now he brings in $134,000 a year.

The people in these stories followed their passion and created wealth through it. What is your opinion on following one's passion in relation to wealth? Can your passion lead to an increase in your net worth? If yes, what is stopping you from following it?

There are many more passionate and successful stories like the two you mentioned above. But not everyone who follows their passion will have such success, not every pursuit of your passion will be rewarded. I am a witness to following my passion but with no good results. I used to want to be a hairstylist, but while pursuing my passion, I encountered more economic difficulties than the advantages I had dreamed of. But when I switched to another field that I didn't love, it brought me a lot of money. For me, with a difficult life like now, as long as I have a job that helps me earn a lot of money, I will pursue it, I am no longer passionate about my passions. Because passion cannot be more important than wife and children and family.

With the different situations we have it is true that following our passion can lead to different results. Some may thrive and some may have to look for other outlets for their financial needs. Perhaps in a more ideal world, we can all pursue our passion while making money not only for our needs and the demands of our lifestyle, but also to dive in deeper to that passion.
Though sometimes it will not go our way, like when you really need a job but you land on not your dream job, we really don't have a choice as there are bills we need to pay, but that doesn't mean we don't look now. If we have free time, try to upskill or find a side hustle that is related to your passion because that is when you can resign from your other work and pursue your passion.
750  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Newbies can't profit from crypto without knowing how to trade. Truth or Myth? on: July 21, 2023, 04:21:16 PM
It’s a truth. People will never gain profits in crypto if they won’t be expose with buy and sell.

You're so wrong about this. Don't you get that if bitcoin can be exchange to goods and services directly? You don't have to know how to trade it on exchange to turn it into those goods and services.
Someone bought bitcoin in 2020 and in 2021, when he was up 300%, he bought a house with bitcoin, because the seller or the agency agreed to such deal. According to you that person did not gain any profit. Cheesy

Also, he can use it as a payment method if he has a business, which can attract more customers and also increase profits. You are right about selling your services, like here in the forum, or there are other tasks like graphic design, video editing, and other microtasks that you'll be paid for with bitcoin. There are tons of ways to earn, but trading is really the main one that all of us can do, like buying and holding it as it is still trading, but it will take more years before you sell it.
751  Economy / Economics / Re: Should I Use Emergency funds or Sell my Assets ? on: July 21, 2023, 02:51:37 PM
Emergency fund is what i will choose. As it is indicated, use it in emergency situation like you are now right now. If you sell your assets, i think this is a wrong moved as of the moment especially when economic is not in good situation.
Unless you don't have other choices, that is their last resort. This is mostly the move of other people that has no savings and their relatives got hospitalize because they don't have enough money they will end up selling their land or lend it to others like making it as a collateral then they will pay back in the future but mostly they cant pay it back. When you really don't have emergency funds you have 2 choices to take out a loan or really sell off your assets which is very not a good move
752  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: $1,080 Billion powerball lotto winner in the USA on: July 21, 2023, 12:52:25 PM
That is really huge, but so is the tax. But again, it is still money, and even if it is cut in half, you still won't have that decent money that can change her life. My thought on this is that the winner should be the person who really needed it, and she should also have been able to manage it well because we know that most lottery winners can't handle it well and just lose it all in a matter of time. I do hope that this is the start of where she can change her life and also be good at other things, like being helpful. But still, I cant imagine that the tax department also won half of it.
753  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ads for online gambling should be banned. on: July 21, 2023, 11:43:54 AM
That's part of solution maybe we can't see a huge effect on it since there are still people gambles but still its good initiative already since they can study how their regulation goes. If it happens the number of addiction has still rising up maybe another solution will be placed and maybe we. n see them issue a total ban if they see that their last regulation didn't seems effective and they need to level up their actions and put total end to each casino platform to lessen up the damage  brought up by wrong perception about the casino.
I don't know how the rules in Australia are regarding gambling in general. Maybe the regulation has leeway with funds that can enter the state treasury. The government earns revenue from casino operations in accordance with the legality that has been approved. Gambling cannot be prohibited even through government regulations, advertisements will still appear everywhere, especially on each cell phone. You've seen it right? then refer to government policy on whether gambling is allowed. In fact, the advertisements are still running around and the only people who can stop them are the individuals themselves.
The government earn a lot of money from gambling and for the government to put an end to it, it will be very hard unless the Senate decided to take it personal and create law that will be ban gambling ads. If the government have to ban gambling ads then there will be a need for them to ban gambling too so everything will end like that and casinos will not find a means to advertise there business to the public. That is the only way gambling ads can be ban when gambling activities are ban to so that people will not go and look for casinos to use and make bets. Could this be possible?

They don't have to ban the ads, they just have to make the general public think twice in gambling before spending any money. This can be done by placing negative advertisements or emphasizing the negative effects of gambling. They did this in every cigarette packets and there's really no reason for them not to try this. It's way easier since the government won't have to lose profit at all as they also get taxes from this industry. Bans are sometimes not a great solution as you'll be foregoing revenue with it.
Imposing more taxes is also a good idea, like the cigarrets, which is why they keep getting more expensive. It is a really good idea to have an advertisement about not gambling as it can lose you money or even your life, but again, this is difficult if there are no regulations on this because it shouldn't be only on the platform that needs to do it. Again, a casino is a business, and there's a ton of money involved in it, which is why it is better if a big person or organization implements it.
754  Economy / Economics / Re: What are some financial secrets that you know of? on: July 21, 2023, 09:23:55 AM
The secrets that are usually told to us by the rich are to take risks and work hard and smart. That is really what they've done to be financially free: they took a risk to have a business and got lucky that it is working. Though there are no risks, it was already told to us that we should work hard and always have motivation to continue to strive until we achieve our dreams.
755  Economy / Economics / Re: How is financial stability defined for you? on: July 21, 2023, 06:53:06 AM
How do you define financial stability for yourself? Do you believe that there's a thing as too much money? With what kind of income would you be satisfied and felt successful, at least in the sector of finances. Is it the more, the better?

Financial stability can be perceived differently by individuals, depending on their specific financial circumstances and responsibilities. From my perspective, financial stability means ability to meet one's obligations and maintain reasonable standard of living without excessive financial standard. Moreover, It is also essential for us to engage in social work and contribute for betterment of society alongside finding fulfilment and purpose of life.

Others will say they are financially stable if they can eat three times a day and also have no problem buying foods, but others perspective is that they are able to buy what they want without taking out a loan, meaning they can buy it in cash. It is still about their content because others are content with it, like having only one single source of income that can provide for them, but others want more as they want to earn more money for their wants and also purchase some stuff.
756  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't expect everyone to embrace Bitcoin on: July 21, 2023, 03:55:27 AM
Seeing a lot of people are still doubtful and suspicious about bitcoin, then I have to say that not everyone is liking the existence of bitcoin. Some have embraced it with so much eagerness while others dare to never trust bitcoin in the first place. So it’s a certain fact that bitcoin is not for everyone. However, let us know that even if bitcoin adoption will not be granted easily, but knowing bitcoin has high potentials to succeed in the future, then it’s value will never stop growing and it’s utility case will also be more useful in the end.

Bitcoin is for everyone because anyone can invest in bitcoin whether rich or poor, but the point is that some people will like it and some will not. Just like when we talk about investing, not everyone is interested in investing, there are also many people who prefer doing other things than investing.
Everyone has different opinions and thoughts, so don't impose your thoughts on others. Convincing or trying to force someone to use bitcoin is a bad idea and a waste of time. That's why I'm against teaching kids bitcoin, it's more like coercion than education.

Even other people are viewing it as an illegal currency, thinking that it was only used in deep pockets, just like they hear in the news. People really don't want to get corrected or change their bias when they first hear it because once they hear that it is illegal, they will think of it all the time, which makes them very hard to convince. Also, teaching Bitcoin to kids is good, but the way better approach to this is to teach them not only Bitcoin but financial awareness so that even as kids, they are already financially aware.
757  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will You Return Hardware Wallet That Contains 3+ BTC in a Hotel Room? on: July 21, 2023, 02:49:05 AM
No matter what, you should always return it, even if it is a small or big amount, because the owner of it is really struggling to earn it. Also, with regards to the hardware wallet, it is impossible to know how much is in there if you don't have the private key or seed phrase, meaning you need to open it first before knowing if there are bitcoins there. But again, no matter what, do your best to find the owner of it; if not, give it to the most responsible authorities.
758  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 10 tips to manage one's emotions while trading crypto. on: July 21, 2023, 01:58:22 AM
For instance: For someone who becomes frightened when the price takes a slight turn in the opposite direction and takes off their trade,  often misses out when the price makes a U-turn in their original direction.

You are right and in the first place, I wonder what the trader comes to do in the market if can't hold emotions when there is a price retracement. Some do exit early even where there is a clear sign that the market is in their favor such as in a market that trends in corrective moves.
Two things must happen when it comes to trading either you win or lose it.

The reasons why they exit early on their entries are emotions and lack of knowledge because if you just see it as a retracement, then there is no reason why you exit, which is because you are just scared to lose the small profit or your strategy is not working. But again, emotions really take place in every aspect of trading, which is why the way you build your strategy also goes to your emotions.
759  Economy / Economics / Re: How much food can you store for survival?3 on: July 20, 2023, 03:43:08 PM
I am a person who is not too afraid of tomorrow because I believe that tomorrow will be a great day, many people are too afraid of the future so they do everything including storing groceries in the warehouse, and I think this is a waste because when we want to use it The quality of the food is reduced.
This seems positive, but we realize this when the pandemic hits: it is not working all the time because if you haven't stored much food at that time and you just buy it by tomorrow, you'll be left with nothing to eat. It is best to be ready with just food that can last a week or even just a few days because it saves you money and also saves you time. Also, you won't be buying any food that only lasts for a day, so make sure that you put it in the refrigerator to preserve it.
760  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do anyone have done this? with gambling platforms on: July 20, 2023, 02:20:03 PM
Before this is possible as there are no wagering limits or KYC, which was again abused before. I remember I managed to win $10 for free using the faucet of the gambling and play it into a crash game, and after winning, I quit and withdrew it, but again, that is really prone to abuse, and a lot of people abuse it by making multiple accounts. That is why they are now more strict like they are putting limits or missions before you can withdraw your money, even if you deposited it.
