741  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does even freezing a customer's account curb irresponsible gambling? on: February 10, 2024, 01:42:24 PM
If suddenly you went on a binge-gambling out of a lack of self-control or something else. For example, you deposit money in rapid succession after a series of losses and the casino management freezes your account. And when you call their customer support, they tell you that your account has been frozen for 3 weeks and the reason why they carried out that measure was because they suspected that you were gambling irresponsibly and decided to take that measure so that you can call yourself back to order, will you feel furious, cuss out, sign out of your account and register on another casino and continue betting. Does even freezing a customer's account curb irresponsible gambling or betting addiction?

No one can stop you from playing if you want to play, there's always other casinos to play so no I don't think freezing a gambler's account will curb addiction as long as there are other alternatives, a compulsive gambler will always find a way, the only way to stop compulsive gambler is through personal intervention and not preventing him from gambling when there are other options to gamble, I have not known a case where an addicted to gambling because he was restricted, that's not how to cure a compulsive gambler.

A compulsive gambler may stop from playing but he will always come back until a professional intervene and laid out a therapy to cure his addiction, many casino have that feature but its a feature they implement as part of their compliancy of making their platform safe from addiction to gambling.
742  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia April 20 WBC junior welterweight title on: February 10, 2024, 01:07:57 PM
I like to be different among the many here, and with that said, I choose from the poll "Ryan Garcia BY KO"... I am the only one who voted for that, I choose that because I believe that for Ryan Garcia to win, he needs to be aggressive and has to KO Haney. Despite not being an undefeated boxer anymore, I believe Ryan's power is enough to knock out Haney with the right strategy. We know that Haney moves a lot, therefore Ryan has to improve his quickness too in order to catch Haney moving, and with Ryan's long reach and has a good height, he could possibly achieve that.

Haney believes that Ryan will be aggressive in this fight, and he expects that and he likes that, because he knows how to counter aggressive guys he's been fighting aggressive guys all his career and his style is very much suited to Haney, he will just confuse Garcia by creating deceitful maneuvers and baiting him a lot, just like what Gervonta Davis did.

This fight is predictable, Ryan has a lot of bad habits in the ring and Haney will just wait for that habit to come out so he can counter, or punish him.
Haney's style is quite boring, but it always works, you hate to see Haney's style in the ring, but you will always agree that after his every fight, he deserves the win.
Garcia's value will go down if he loses this fight so he needs to train hard to get the best coaches and trainers and he needs to adapt immediately to the plan his trainers will laid out.
743  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia April 20 WBC junior welterweight title on: February 10, 2024, 11:24:21 AM

So we will see, hopefully there's no rehydration clause or something that will put Ryan at a disadvantage. Haney is  huge favorite, Ryan 5:1 underdog hehehe. Probably it's because of his style, it will be very difficult for Ryan. And this is what the fans wanted and Oscar did deliver again.

Most likely another 1 million+ PPV for Ryan and then tickets sold out in live gates?

A rehydration clause would only hurt Haney, who gained 25 pounds between the weigh-in and fight night against Regis Prograis. It’s crazy to think that Haney is basically a natural middleweight and Loma, who is an undersized lightweight, still almost beat him.

Something which is interesting is that this is already Ryan’s second fight since losing to Tank. Meanwhile, Tank is still sitting on the sidelines without anything scheduled and coming up with excuses to avoid fighting Haney and other elite champions.

This dehydration clause will hurt boxers because they are still dehydrated going into the ring and they are not at their full potential going into the ring, it's normal for boxers to increase their size after the weigh-in it is part of a boxer's strategy so they can employ their full potential going into the ring, and this will only give reason for a boxer to have an alibi, Ryan may have a good alibi losing the fight because of that clause.

If all contracts have it in their matches we will see boxers not having their potential in the ring, they should only be strict on doping tests but not burden boxers with this dehydration clause, so far there is no mention of a dehydration clause or we don't know if they are not divulging anything.
744  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Taking a break in gambling on: February 09, 2024, 03:55:20 PM
How do you guys manage to take a break in gambling? I’m not asking for advice but rather I’m just interested to know what you are doing on your own or if you really do a break.

I recently decided to take a break since I want to hold my crypto due to its increasing value and I don’t to spend it while it’s giving me passive profit. I just claiming bonus now or anything that is free to still enjoy gambling without risking my money.

What is the instances that makes you take a break in gambling?

If you're a responsible gambler and you do not consider gambling as your priority, you can take a vacation anytime you, your decision to take a vacation while the value of Bitcoin is increasing is a good decision, I'm also limiting my time, and saving my Bitcoin.
But when the market is in bear I usually stop or take a vacation after I lose a large amount, of money that I should have not lost, I do it to shrug off the frustration it's my decision that after I suffer a huge loss that I will continue to gamble.
Because I will just remember all my losses and I will just chase my losses that's what happened to me in the past,  so is better to take a week off or just come back when you are ready and have forgotten your losses.
Taking a break is important in gambling so you will break the habit that will lead you to addiction.

745  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia April 20 WBC junior welterweight title on: February 09, 2024, 03:35:06 PM
Great match. I'm just curiuos why Ryan Garcia's name now is floating everywhere. I mean, we talk about Lopez, Rolly, Davis and now Haney... they seemed  want to have a piece of Ryan. Maybe because he is an attraction, that they know when they fight Ryan they'll get a good pay check?

Since this is just a potential fight.. let's keep this updated so we will know its chances of happening.. Right now, there are plenty of rumors on the space about Ryan's potential fight next.

Well, it finally confirmed, this fight should have happened years ago, Haney wanted to face Garcia but Garcia's promoters Hopkins and De La Hoya wanted a great buildup to the fight, they wanted Garcia to be a legit or multi-titled first before he faced Haney, but its the other way around now, Garcia has one loss and no title and Haney became the undisputed junior welterweight.
I'm sure there will be a lot of thrash talks as there is no love lost between the two.

In case we all forgot they had a face-off and a thrash talk inside the ring 3 years ago here is the video

746  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do coaches get sacked over poor performance of players? on: February 09, 2024, 02:24:50 PM
There's a saying that players win games coaches lose them and that's what the management follows on the theory of team management, the coaches are responsible for motivating their players and giving them specific roles and what to do, if the coaches fail to do they usually are the first to get sacked but there are players who are also get sacked or traded because of their performance, but if the overall performance of the team the coaches are the one who gets the ax.

I believe that both parties should be blamed for their poor performance, but the management will always see the potential and skill of the players more than the technical know-how of the coaches, which is why they get all the blame, for the team getting better and perform to the highest level they should have equal responsibility and duty to the management that pay their salary.
747  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If I bet big I lose, but if I bet small I win on: February 09, 2024, 12:54:24 PM
Guys, do you often feel like me? when I raise the bet I lose and when I lower the bet I win. Does the casino system/algorithm know the betting patterns we make? So often when we bet big we are given a loss and when our bet is small we actually win, which is very annoying

Honestly, I was about to create like that just hours ago I was doing good on Mines betting a small amount I have 10 to 13 runs with 2 bombs to chase me, I have the same setting then suddenly I become boring and hit max and to my surprise I lose everything, I almost hit my desktop, my consolation is I still have some coins on other Currency I only lose Bitcoin.

I know and fully understand that in gambling there is no guarantee on every bet, but sometimes you lose control and throw away all your belief for a chance to make a profit, this is another endless lesson to learn, but this is gambling when we thought we know a lot, we just know less of what we should know.
This is the time that we like to get angry with ourselves but it will do no good so we have to forget it and move on.
748  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have a habit of tracking your gambling progress? on: February 09, 2024, 10:25:54 AM
Do you have a habit of tracking your gambling progress?

A newbie needs to  set up a system to track how he plays how much money he is losing and winning, and if he is doing it right, for a regular gambler needs to track the system or the habit he set up if he is still following this system, following your progress is very important this is a sign or the behavior of a responsible gambler
he needs to update and assess himself if he is still a responsible gambler or going off the mark with his budget and allocated time.

The temptation to bet more or play longer hours is always there, sometimes we lose ourselves when we become too excited and too anxious to regain what we've lost, so we need to assess even weekly so we can judge ourselves if we are still what we want to become in gambling or we are departing from our plan.
749  Economy / Gambling / Re: Satelite Late Betting / Offering Fast Stream / Satelite Feeds on: February 09, 2024, 12:48:50 AM
For me is useless to answer you  , you think that you know everything or what ?  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy
The answer is a legit one that's how hackers and scammers laid out their plan by handing out control of your computer to unknown people, this is the first time I read about satellite late betting service you should add more information on how to safeguard the user, there's a possibility of abuse and access to to your data, team viewer is best used for companies and team projects but sharing to user who is stranger is not recommended, there should be a level of trust first before handing out to people access to your device.

Honestly, I'm not disputing your offer in satellite betting, but you should have at least a few people who admit that you're honest about additional betting methods, rather difficult to connect personal computers with other people, the risk of viruses is more dangerous than winning gambling.
750  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Teofimo Lopez Vs. Jamaine Ortiz WBO Welterweight Title February 8 on: February 08, 2024, 03:58:08 PM

Can't wait to watch this fight. Teo will again showcase his special talent, and might easily dispose Ortiz  in this battle.

I like Teofimo's reaction to their faceoff he is more relaxed and calculated gone are the days where he resorted to cheap thrash talk like he did with Kambosos he learned a lot from that fight.
I agree that this should be an easy assignment for Teofimo before heading for big fights maybe after this fight he will go for a unification title, and fight either Haney or Matias, Teofimo is ambitious the three champions in that weight divisions are all undefeated so its better that after this fight Lopez negotiate for a title unification

By the way the round by round updates for this fight is already listed here in case you cannot watch a live feed but if there are live feeds from social media I will drop it here

751  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you beleive in the concept of "Luck"? on: February 08, 2024, 03:42:52 PM
Hello everyone!

Recently, I was thinking about the concept of luck in my life and how lucky I am. And I wondered how other people, especially gamblers, perceive this concept.
This is a force that every gambler summons whenever they are making a bet even if the bet comes from good analysis and is favorite to come out gamblers still wish that luck will be in your favor

quote]Do you believe in Luck? If so, how do you describe your perception of this concept?[/quote]
As a gambler yes I'm a firm believer in luck I always think and hope and pray to have it when I'm about to play, luck made me a better gambler because I know that in gambling there is no guarantee.

Quote
How lucky do you think you are from 1 to 10
I rate myself 5 in gambling but in life, it's 10 because I am very healthy, with a good family and I can still eat three times a day, people should appreciate what they have its always a blessing and you're in luck if you're still alive

Quote
Does your sense of luck in regular life correlate with your luck in gambling?
Unfortunately no I am not lucky in gambling compared to my life

Quote
Do you believe that some special things or actions can increase your luck?
Yes we are governed by special forces and we can summon that through prayers and through our belief that we can be lucky in what we are doing.
752  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Beterbiev vs. Bivol - Undisputed Light Heavyweight Championship on: February 08, 2024, 03:02:10 PM

I think both boxers does not want drama, they just want to fight and declared to be the best in their division. This should be fun, and a lot of money are stakes in this fight, so they can't afford to postpone it worst cancel it. The venue is set, people are expecting it, this should happen.

I'm not discriminating but this is what I like about Russian-based fighters they came to fight they don't want dramas compared to US-based fighters, they don't thrash talks and they behave well in press conferences, maybe because of the language barriers they are not good in English.
Is there a possibility of a rematch or even a trilogy just like what happened in the Canelo - Golovkin fight?

If the fight becomes close I believe there should be a rematch, but of course, it depends on what happens in the first fight and the boxing community's reaction and feedback this is one legacy fight and very important for both fighters, one's zero and his title will have to go on that night.
753  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever introduced an elder gambler to online betting? on: February 08, 2024, 12:38:53 PM

As you can see, it wasn't only about gambling, but also about interacting with other people inside a real gambling environment, besides the technological experience not being so rewardable when compared to playing at solid, palpable physical machines.

And you, have you ever successfully introduced an elder person to virtual gambling?

As a rule, I don't want to introduce gambling to who I think will not a responsible, I based it on my assessment and my interaction with him much more to elderly person, so no I have not yet introduced an elder person to virtual gambling I don't want to get blamed if fever the elder person become addicted to gambling the whole family will blame me if ever the elder person become addicted I want him to enjoy his retirement age by doing what older people are doing like strolling in the park talking to their peers and enjoying retirement years.

If I get him involved in gambling, there's a possibility that he will spend more time gambling than doing what is best in his status as an elder, and we all know gambling is risky for people who have time and money many elder people have time and money coming from their pension.
754  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How's problem gambling different from compulsive gambling. on: February 08, 2024, 11:21:43 AM
Was reading a gambling related article just this morning and it was talking on random issues cut across gambling responsibly, many of which I agree with.
You should have shared that article so we could also read it for a healthier discussion and we can explore the subject that you want to disscuss.

Quote
However, there were two terms that were made mentioned of which stole my interest unfortunately they weren't explained but only mentioned. I could have just checked them on Google but I felt reluctant and said let me bring it to the community let make it a discussion among us. The two terms were Problem Gambling and Compulsive Gambling. I want to know if they are different in meaning and how different is their effect on their victims.
Based on my experience and what I believe in, there's no difference on the meaning of both words and their essence if you are a compulsive gambler then you have a gambling problem these two are interconnected you cannot be a compulsive gambler and do not have problem in your gambling activity.

And moreso, there's a statement I read in the comment section which is in the quote below. I would love to have the views of slot lovers in the forum on this. How true is this statement.

All slot players are long term losers.
I seldom play slot but this applies to all games of chance, whether it is a dice, mine or Plinko the house edge will beat you so don't ever treat these luck based games as a source of income
755  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Changing initial option and losing the bet on: February 08, 2024, 09:28:52 AM
As a gambler and I do participate on physical gambling, at times this scenario often happens to me. After doing my analysis, checked statistics on games, I have selected option I want to play but when I get to gambling center I will have a thought of changing option or adding  a game  to the initial option I selected and this most time will cost losing the bet.

These acts has cost me from losing bet many times, as a gambler share your thoughts on this and have you been in a similar situation.
To err and to change decisions is just humans much more if you're doing this in a casino, I have a lot of bad and good experiences changing my first bet but unfortunately, the number of losses is much more than winning, I experienced this offline and online casinos.

I experienced this when I was betting on horse racing because there were so many tipsters in the betting station and everyone offered a different perspective and good analysis that is why I kept changing my bets sometimes it turned out good but most of the time bad.

I carry this in my online gambling, it is hard to keep up and just settle on your decision there are so many things rushing in your mind especially if the stake is huge, this is one of the gambling dilemmas that gamblers face and that's what makes gambling exciting and the casino that you want to get back over and over again.
756  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Pacquiao vs. Buakaw - April 20 on: February 07, 2024, 03:51:25 PM
Buakaw isn't even a boxer and is not much younger, not sure if this is a good matchup.
But Pacquiao always gives his 100% as seen in his fight against DK Yoo with no mercy even if it's an exhibition Grin Now imagine if Buakaw makes him angry... IMO the chance of Buakaw winning is slim since Muaythay is more about knee, elbow, and spinning back fist. Rooting for Pacman to win, as seen on my avatar, lol.

If it's just for exhibition purposes I think people will buy it regardless. Buakaw is excellent in muay thai, and I'm sure he knows how to handle himself. He's a defensive fighter too, so it will be natural for him to be on guard against a more aggressive Pacquiao. I'd still watch it, though, and probably bet on some other categories and not directly on the match winner as there's obviously no value in it when it comes to such exhibition matches.

Yeah, he know how to defend himself, but against Pacman? I doubt he will even last since it's boxing and Pacman has not become the only 8th division champion for no reason. This maybe an exhibition fight but we know who would possibly win here, unless there's a script that needs to be follow to make it look hard for Pacman. Well, I brought up this "script" thing as there are rumors that exhibition fights follows some script to make it an entertaining event.

I'm sure Pacquiao will try to look impressive here because he is preparing for the Mayweather fight and he wants to look good in this fight to show Floyd that he is still good and impressive in the ring, but Buakaw is not an easy fight, because the guy can take a punch but his being limited with his skill in boxing and the fact that he is more expert in kicking will render him defenseless against Pacman.

It will be good if Pacquiao can knock out Buakaw to scare off Mayweather, Pacquiao has better preparation against Mayweather who is fighting an unknown and inexperienced Gatti, both of their opponents' records will speak on who is the better opponent between Pacquaio and Mayweather.
757  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Teofimo Lopez Vs. Jamaine Ortiz WBO Welterweight Title February 8 on: February 07, 2024, 03:04:07 PM

Nothing spectacular on that press conference though, both has so much respect with each other. If Teo will stay relax and not get clip early, he will definitely win this fight. Ortiz is much taller but I don't think it has a advantage in this fight. It's more on the boxing IQ, and as per Teo, he has mature now and so he has the experience against Ortiz.

They already met in the ring nine years ago in their amateur days, Lopez won the match but he earned respect of Lopez so they know each other but not that well since they amateur fought and we all know that there are great amateur boxers that did not translate their success in the professional, while there are boxers who are a poor performer in the amateur but ended to be great champions we can site boxers like Tyson, Wilder and many great names to mention

Quote
During their amateur days, Lopez and Ortiz locked horned horns.

They met as teenagers in the final of the Golden Gloves at junior lightweight in May 2015. At the end of three rounds, Lopez was the victor but Ortiz got his licks in.
https://www.ringtv.com/664214-jamaine-ortiz-expects-the-best-version-of-teofimo-lopez-in-their-ring-championship

I also going to bet on Lopez when he is not triggered and relaxed he is a very good tactician in the ring, and he seems fine in the interview not unlike the Kambosos fight where he is triggered by thrashtalks.
758  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Subriel Matias vs Liam Paro Possible, 140-pound Title 90% complete on: February 07, 2024, 01:22:14 PM
I hope this fight pushes through, both fighters are good knock-out artists when two undefeated fighters collide in the ring expect a lot of action, Matias is such a good fighter, he is a pressure fighter who loves to move forward and loves to slug it out many become his fans after he fought Shohjahon Ergashev,
Shohjahon Ergashev is such a good fighter I thought he had a good chance to take Matias's title but Ergasshev it seems never faced a pressure fighter who moves forward and is willing to take so he can give out his best punches.

Matias is an underrated superstar in boxing and so is Liam Paro whoever wins this match will soon become a threat against Teofimo Lopez and Haney so it's going to be exciting to watch this fight It is a battle of underated fighters who can one day take a spotlight in the 140 lbs.
759  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rich or poor gambler, who should risk more? on: February 07, 2024, 12:14:04 PM
Gambling an activity for fun also has the chance to turn someone's fortune. Calculated risk when taken in gambling can be the way to big wins from gambling. Who do you think should take more risk in gambling? The rich gambler or the gambler who is not yet rich. If a rich gambler takes risks in gambling, they are risking losing money and becoming poor from gambling, or getting richer, when a gambler who is not yet rich gambles, they can also get poorer or richer, so the gambler who should take the risk should be the gambler who can handle the dangers of the risk like losing too. When a rich gambler loses from taking a risk, there is a better chance of them being in a position to manage with the losses, than someone struggling financially who a big loss will really affect. So, I am confused after asking myself this question and answering it, does this mean a poor gambler should continue to play it safe in gambling? With no risk, how can a poor gambler change their fortune in gambling?

None of them should, they should not risk their money, to get more money, gambling is not a cash cow and it's risky for both of them, they could end up penniless because rich or poor people there's an inherent risk, people should have a limit on how they gamble and the risk they are going to take depends on their capacity and capability.

Rich people may have all the money but it only takes a few nights to lose everything, same with the poor people, we should not play more than we can afford to lose an we should not use the word risk as part of our gambling activity rather its better to use the word enjoy whenever we are playing.
Our motivation should be on enjoyment and not on risking money just to gain money, the former is safer than the latter.
760  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Selling a property to play gamble on: February 07, 2024, 10:51:57 AM

No matter how deep you are in gambling never you sell a property because you will surely regret it when it doesn't work the way you expected.

Have you ever sold a property to play gamble and afterwards finds it difficult to replace that same property again?

Unfortunately, those addicted to gambling sell everything they have and they don't care about the outcome, all they want is to satisfy the need to get dopamine the reward hormone that will satisfy the feelings of gamblers, they are blinded and they do not even take consideration the hardships they undergo when acquiring these properties, that is why we see gamblers living miserably because they lose everything they have all because of the feeling that they are alive because of the dopamine.
Once you sell your property you are at the height of your addiction and there's a need for intervention because if there are interventions there is a possibility that the individual who is addicted to gambling will turn to crime just to sustain their addiction, their love ones should do their best to implement intervention to cure the addiction before its too late.
Here in our country, I read rumors of wealthy people and entertainment people losing all they have because of their addiction, it can happen to these people it can happen to anyone.
