Everything passes and this will pass! (King Solomon)
The crypto is already in the present and undoubtedly the future quantum science!

As this point, there's no really need to panic sell. I mean we have bottom already around $3.2 and it seems that there would be no more sell-off. Although the price is like trading sideways again, a indication that people are not yet entering and just continue to have their wait-and-see attitude.

It's good though, at least investors are getting smarter and no more FOMO. I'm sure everyone is familiar with what happened in 2017, a lot doesn't want to miss the boat, join at it's peaked and then burned in 2018. So for newbie investors, I do hope that you learn your lessons not to panic and just stay calm as we will get over this bump this year. Other's doesn't like HODLing though, but at this market conditions, it's the best strategy as far as I know.

7443  Economy / Speculation / Re: How do you think the price of BTC will change this week?💰 on: January 13, 2019, 05:42:41 AM
I'm speculating that the price would be the same, as what one thread says, it looks like that $3K-$4K levels is the new $6K-$6.5K. We have seen the price goes on sideways for four months and because of the BCH drama the price goes down to the levels we're currently in.

So I'm not expecting another mad rush to $4K this week, for me it will trade on sideways and there will no clear trend. Not unless there is a positive news that will push the price to go upward or another FUD to pull it downward. And remember that the bears is still in control and can pull surprises any time, I initially though that they are exhausted, but they prove me wrong. Worst case scenario is the price going to touch all-time-lows so just be prepared.

I'm been following this thread but it looks like its not a problem of Ledger Nano S but the OP has been scammed:

This is indeed a scam I lost 24ETH today because of this stupid hardfork. Be careful about it guys.

His been a victim and I'm sure lots of users as well, so just beware of this stupid hard fork or something. Reminds me of what had happened during the bitcoin fork as well, a lot of videos and help going around, even someone development this so called wallet to claim your free bitcoin cash but it turns out to be scam as well.
7445  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin losing value is nothing surprising, will continue on: January 13, 2019, 04:32:08 AM
Anyhow it's in reality.. which's clear everything is not really certain yet, even though it will happen.. yeah we have to accept it all, in essence no need be too dependent on it, because it's still in many considerations especially the government of each country and the interest of many people that's related to crypto/bitcoin on the side of its advantages/functions.

Yeah, when reality sets in, most of the time it's really hard to swallow it and find the logical solution to it. As for people dependent of it, we can't blame them, 2017 has open the doors for a lot of noobs investors to try their luck on this market because that time it's very lucrative. Just imagine that year alone, a tremendous leap ~$7xx in the beginning and ended up almost $20K at the end of 2017.

But when the bubble was burst, man it's really frustrating to see the price going on a downward spiral and more people got burned easily. But I always say to myself that once we hit the bottom, the only thing it can do after that is to really go up again and bounce back. Bitcoin is very resilient so I won't be surprised that after this bear market, the price will slowly recover and there will be renewed interest and sentiments will eventually change as the new cycle begins.

7447  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is growing at nonstop rates in my country on: January 13, 2019, 03:38:15 AM
Commercial gambling ads will be available only in the countries who supported gambling to grow and probably your government let this happen because they admitted gambling as industry and can be good source tax for them but besides all of it i think they will also thinking the risk behind it especially i read your post that there was casinos near to high school locations and it's very risky to childrens at there will attempts to gambling because casinos is too easy to be access
Governments should apply strict rules for those who wanna to gamble in such places. Casino industry is old, profitable industry due to gambling addiction based on  human nature. This type of casinos mainly care about profit with minimum risk that's why guards are constantly rude against winners. Minimum gambling age is over 18 in my country, everyone should avoid to risk hard earned money there especially this age group. Sometimes i hear about teenagers who lost their tuition fee in casino. IMO casinos can ask the source of money with checking the detailed info of teenager participants in central system before entering with big money in order to minimize such cases.

I don't think that casino's would go to that detail though, why would they need to ask where the source of money came from? If they are within the age wherein they can enter a casino then they are mature enough to know the risk involved, just saying.

What the guards usually do, if they have doubts is to ask for ID to verify their age and that's it. If they show ID saying that they are 18 and above then they can play as long as they money in their pocket.

Also government doesn't allow casino's to be operated near schools or universities, so if student wanted to play then its their choice, imho.
7448  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hardware wallets to store altcoins - too expensive? on: January 13, 2019, 02:46:27 AM
I noticed that a lot of people in the crypto space are actually quite interested in hardware wallets to store their coins and tokens, but for many the price is still simply too expensive.

I think that's part and parcel of being our own bank. It's better to get a full functioning trusted hardware for a better price so that you know your investments are safe from any attacks. If you invested $100K in crypto, $100 dollar of hardware wallet is nothing, I guess.

If there was an option to buy a hardware wallet, such as Ledger or Trezor, for a fraction of the current prices, would you personally be interested in getting one? For instance, if there was an older model that lacks some fancy features compared to the newer version of the wallet but works fine both to store and transact multiple cryptocurrencies, would this grab your attention?

Older model? Probably, but it's need to be original and not refurbished or something.

A hundred dollars for a hardware wallet seems to be rather expensive. This might not be the case for people who are relatively well off in the first place, yet if you hold only about fifty dollars worth of cryptocurrencies, indeed it doesn't seem to make much sense to spend double that to secure your coins. However, in the long run, as you work on increasing the amount of coins you hold, it might be a wise investment. It would be great if manufacturers were to offer models that are a lot more affordable.

I guess manufacturers are charging expensive because it took them time and money as well to developed their model to be secure and trusted.

Other than price, are there other factors that are holding you back from taking the plunge to hardware devices? Is the price the main factor?

I'm not saying I'm well-off or something, I always value security so it's a easy decision to me to invest into a hardware wallet as well.

Regarding his next opponent though, no disrespect, but I don't see him dethroning Jones here. Yes he is on a 3 fight winner streak, but two of those wins are against wash up fighters (Rashad and Rua).

For those who are interested to bet, Jones open up as a 13-1 favorite. Lol.

7451  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let's kick some bear ass on January 30th! on: January 13, 2019, 01:33:29 AM
As much as we wanted to do that and follow your advise and kick some bear, it's not simple as it sounds. This is a free market so I doubt that anyone will follow your advise though. Yes it's frustrating to see the market conditions right now, but we can't do anything like forcing or telling someone to have a a schedule buy-in.

Chances are people might sell on the 30th for all we know. I can also advise if someone is not really comfortable wit the market to really stay out and wait till everything settles down.

And even if your proposition might happen, we can't discount the fact the speculators or bots will take advantage of the situation to push the sell button and book their profits upon seeing a spike in the price.
7452  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Pre-Season on: January 13, 2019, 01:23:06 AM
Lakers lose once again. This team is incredibly inconsistent without a true leader. Lebron is still out and he is by far the best playmaker they have and create so many offensive chances, without him Lakers look like they have no idea what they are doing. Rondo is out as well and he is normally a genius that could at least unlock the other teams defense and help his teammates realize what they should do in order to win, Lonzo got into early foul trouble so he wasn't really effective neither.

Just like I said in my previous, even though that Lakers is performing very well at times without Lebron, the team really needs his leadership on the court. They needed his basket IQ and basketball minds to create a lot of offensive chances which they obviously lack today. This is uncharted territories for the young team right now so it's a big challenge for them. So far they have been inconsistent though.

Put Donovan amazing game on top of that and you get yourself another loss. I just really hope Lakers will get better with time but seriously it has been years of tanking and young guys improving and we still don't have anything to show for it, they must be getting a bit better by this time around, I am not expecting them to be amazing, they could still lose a lot of games but not being able to score and have no clue how to is not really acceptable at this level.

For a Laker fans, yes it's frustrating to see them tank for years now. There's a lot of hype around Lonzo when he enter, but so far  we haven't seen any significant changes. I'm sure they are not panicking, but I guess we really need some time to see them back in the groove and wait till Lebron is back. They are still holding the 8th spot (23-20).
7453  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: January 12, 2019, 10:27:13 AM
Very sad to hear about Andy Murray retiring possibly in the next two main event tournaments he is participating in.
If he could win Australian open and Wimbledon before doing so it would be the greatest achievement he could possibly do in ending his tennis career.

It would be a perfect cinderella finish for Andy Murray if that happen but I don't see it in reality though. I think his done and just wanted to have some fun in Australian Open and that's it.

I'm sure he will be the crowd favorite as well, tennis fans are very sentimental so I wouldn't be surprise the outpouring of messages or the standing ovations he will got, once he is the court.
7454  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 2019 first quarter market prediction on: January 12, 2019, 10:00:17 AM
If Bakkt goes live this month, then I'm sure that the market will start our slow recovery process. It's possible that the price could hit the $6K barrier once again. And we could very well ended up the year in the five digits.

However, it is postpone for another month or two, it's possible that we can see another bottom or close to the last bottom we have seen ($3.2K). And then we trade sideways so it's going to painful and boring at the start of the year.

This is just my honest opinion though, and I may be wrong here.
7455  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Thailand grants licenses to 4 crypto exchanges on: January 12, 2019, 09:40:07 AM
I know they would probably have been counting on Bitcoin popularity to make up for that, but in this sentiment be amazed if people went for exchanges rather than cheaper p2p.

It's like a cat and mouse game. Eventually governments will try to meet the average user in the middle, all to make local transactions less appealing, and thus not miss out on tax income they otherwise wouldn't be getting. It's amazing that crypto offers people this much power, because for the first time it's up to the government to make a 'friendly' move towards its people.

At least the government of Thailand see's the potential of getting huge taxes out of crypto and who knows, the kingdom will develop as another crypto hub in Asia. It's a democratic country so it's easy from the outside to see them really friendly to their population.

If you keep thinking that people will blindly follow everything you as government come up with, you are wrong. I would like this to be turned into some sort of a revolution at one point, whenever Bitcoin is ready to handle mass adoption. People gave governments the power they have, and now they have the tool they need to lessen that power, so use it.

And that tool would be crypto, as it gave freedom to even a ordinary citizens like the majority of us. Just imagine what mass adoption would be in the future though, exciting times ahead for all of us in the next 10 years.
7456  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Short now = make lots of money? on: January 12, 2019, 09:22:43 AM
Short-term is indeed a fairly profitable trading method, but most of us sometimes have difficulty using several pumps in the market.

Profitable if they really well adept on how the price moved or well verse in reading graphs or have some sort of experience of Technical Analysis.

I also speculate that speculators has also evolved shorting not just bitcoin but the rest of the coins in this bearish market. Just imagine buying when the price is $3200 and selling it at $4200 last December makes sense.

But we also have to take into account the risk involved. If you have a faint of heart then shorting might not be the one for you though. Also the greed factor must be controlled as well.
7457  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Bitcoin will pump like crazy on: January 12, 2019, 08:42:57 AM
The next block reward halvening is in mid 2020 so we should naturally see the price go up as we enter 2020 due the knowledge of a lower supply once the halvening happens.

Everyone is really waiting for that next activity. But it's what more than a year from now and there's a lot of factors that might start a recovery. But the last halving though took as months to see the price going upward, so don't expect something big to happen right after the halving.

2019 will probably be quite crap for the price, sideways & a slow grind upwards.

I'm also speculating that the might see a long and boring year in 2019. Sideways pattern will be the norm and I'm sure that investors and speculators will continue to short Bitcoin more.

To the OP, are you saying that you're going out of the market this 2019?
7458  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Pre-Season on: January 12, 2019, 07:15:41 AM
Anyone noticed the chemistry of Lakers?  Cool

They are getting better at passing and they always knew where their team mate is.
Kuzma getting 41 points for just 29 minutes. 9 players of Lakers played the game and 8 got points on their stats against the strong Detroit Pistons. What's better? Doing it without Lebron and Rondo.
Now they are getting fun to watch specially Kuzma. I am a big fan of this young player.
I also admired how this young rookie played, we've heard a lot from different rookies in the league but this boy have it's own way to be recognized and be noticed, I see him before LeBron's transfer and looking forward to see him improved and with how LeBron treat him there's a lots to expect with this young superstar.

You guys noticed that Kuzma is already in the top 10 in the All Star voting?

I guess the NBA and the fans are noticing that this kid is something special and he has a lot of leg room to improved and could be the potential Lakers franchise players.

Of course they are better if Lebron is on the court, but I don't see any differences whether he is playing on the court or not. Just fun to see Lakers and the chemistry they build specially with this kids.
7459  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Manny Pacquaio vs. Adrien Broner on: January 12, 2019, 07:05:10 AM
Continuing on the link Kemarit shared, Pacquiao, Mayweather come face to face at Clippers game. Read the comments about the news.

https://www.boxingscene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=803493

The posters there are into boxing more than the average fan, I reckon. But a greater part of their comments do not want Floyd versus Manny 2.

Does that imply that such an event is not ready?
The first fight between these two did not need promotional tours as that fight was all the boxing fans want. If this second fight will push through i think that they need a lot of promotional activities to get the fans buy that ticket or PPV. Mayweather had already done his part during that New year's eve circus in Japan while Manny is in a must win fight with Broner to get that money fight.

I think Money vs Manny 2 will be done on July as Manny will be busy for the upcoming election this May.  Smiley

IMO, these fighters dont need to push more promotional activities to sell tickets and PPV's. Just put enough hype, like Manny's vengeance or something that could add up to Manny's legacy, like defeating the undefeated floyd. Plus their first match wasnt a one sided fight, they both have showed their skills toe to toe, although a lot of fans misinterpreted the boxing style of Floyd. I guess Floyd's recent fight and Manny's fight today is a set up for them both to establish a good rematch, and ofcourse MONEY as always.

But they still need to do some promotional in order to sell tickets. They need to create their own storyboard, yes could be revenge for Manny but for me it's flat hype.

Wanted them to see thrash talk prior to the fight, they can even fire some tweet's like what Manny did after Floyd's win against Tenshin. Or both of them going on the media circle's having interviews and start a beef or something.
7460  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling strategies (beliefs) on: January 12, 2019, 06:54:42 AM
What are the strategies you believe which can brings to win for you even though in the practical there is no strategy from you.Just speak from your heart. Cheesy

There's no such thing as strategies, if you see someone using this sort of strategy or something, at the end it will caught up with him/her resulting in a loss. Some of the gamblers are weird though, they belief in superstitions but I don't believed them. It's just coincidence or pure luck.

My strategy is to play two or three bets with small bets,if I win something hen I believe I am lucky today so I will continue few more bets and sometimes it helps too. Kiss

What if on the fourth bet you lose? And then you big bet thinking that you're lucky? Grin
