8361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: JPMorgan and BofA ban cryptocurrency transactions for their credit cards on: February 02, 2018, 10:13:35 PM
I wonder who is doing all these stuffs? i mean the manipulation in the market, the spreading of all the FUDs lately because it causes a lot of panic to all the people and investors, maybe theres someone who can explain why they are doing this? is this jsut for the money or they want to take down the cryptocurrency community, either way they will not prevail thats for sure.

Well bankers really hate bitcoin so it only make sense as to who is to blame about all the FUD that we have been hearing. And this is another attack from them, I'm sure that the market will be affected by such negative news coming from JP Morgan and BoA. So we need to brace ourselves, I mean tie ourselves to something strong. lol.

Of course everything is just for the "money". They know that significant amount of money have been flowing in the crypto world specially last year. They want a piece of it, that they will resorted by attacking it, started by Jamie Dimon last year.
8362  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Those who sold at a loss on: February 02, 2018, 09:47:10 PM
Tell me how you feel.

How much did you lose?

Of course with the current situation my poftfolio is down. But I'm still not selling anything so I don't think that I lose something. Its only down by a few percentage but I'm in it for the long haul so I'm not touching anything on my wallet.

You can't blame panic sellers at the moment, with the recent FUD and Attack. It's just funny how well orchestrated those FUD and regulations are being implemented, but yeah sadly those who sold at a loss will be loser but we cannot tell how deep can bitcoin go. I think eth should take over for sometime

Really funny though to read those FUD waves around the forum. And noobs suddenly dump their coins which they bought at top price of $17K-$19K. They should have hold on but sadly they are affected by a lot of FUD here and other social media outlets. They instead should wait and not panic sells, too bad for them.
8363  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is this stall in the cryptomarket temporary? on: February 02, 2018, 09:22:14 PM
Its frustrating to see such a steady stall in the crypto market post January. Seems like any price change (increase/decrease) is happening at snail pace. Any hope that this market will pick up soon in the following months?

Yes, of course, its frustrating to see such kind of stall and we cannot do anything to this and there is nothing to worry about this stall because this is how the market used to behave. Market moves like in snake speed when it is trending and otherwise, it used to move like a snail in sideways trend. the current stall is just a temporary pause and i am sure that we are going to see a big trending move soon and most probably it will be uptrend move because the long-term uptrend is still in action and it will not end once there is no strong formation of top forms over there in bitcoin price charts.

I agree. Its really so frustrating at times to see your wallet and slowing draining because the market is currently stalling. We have been spoiled to see the price goes up, specially last December when it nearly went as high as $20K. Good times.

But 2018 is really a pain for all of us. We didn't expect anything like this, so the best thing is to wait for it to bounce back. This behavior though is just normal, everything is either up or down. And I'm happy that most of the members here are still bullish about bitcoin. Only few members spewing lies and FUD. When everything recovers, all those shills will be silent again.
8364  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The market fell sharply, what is going on? on: February 02, 2018, 08:21:59 PM
As some of you said, this is another iteration of the same scheme we've seen so many times over and over again.
The negative news will circle around and effectively undermine the faith of people in cryptocurrency.
This is nothing new and all we need is patience and time, bitcoin will reach $20k again this year.

Yes, this is a vicious cycle that we are seeing again. Prices go up and down momentarily. That's how this market works. The only thing is that you should not be worry because everything can be recovered. We have seen how crypto started from nothing to almost $1T marketcap. Patience and holding is the key here.

The market is falling sharply, I see signs of not healing, capitalization is withdrawn, should I continue to buy in the top 10 coin or should I pin down USDT and wait for new move?  Sad

the history of cryptocurrencies is full of moments of strong pump and as many dump, so you just have to be patient and calm and wait for the market to grow again.
Perhaps now is the best time to invest obviously everyone must invest only what is willing to lose.

Yes. Golden moments for all of us to really enter the market. All of them are in a bargain. My portfolio is already full. But I'm thinking of adding more if the price still goes down in the next couple of days.
8365  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum 2k USD in February? on: February 02, 2018, 07:25:01 PM
Well, this market is really volatile and we can't really know when is a certain price is going to be. Just at the end of year and early part of this year, Ethereum is surging ahead and top $1K for the first time. And it stays on that price range even though bitcoin has been in several market corrections. Ethereum is not affected, though it will go down a bit and bounce back.

But today, it goes below $900 and I don't know if there's support level at this time. But for me, this is just temporary setback and no need to worry because pretty sure that long term is will recover and rebounded.
8366  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: its price decline continues until February this month on: February 02, 2018, 06:56:28 PM
Bitcoin's misfortune continued until early February. This digital money market slumped unexpectedly. It was also the worst since November 2017, which at that time bitcoin had touched $ 8,561.
now, the bitcoin value alone is in the range of $ 8,900.
is it possible that the forecast of its decline in bitcoin prices is caused by the new REGULATION enforced by governments that prohibit crypto?

As much as the parabolic rise of bitcoin is not sustainable in the long run, this crypto bloodbath will not last that long in my view. After the Chinese New Year, our Asian brothers will again bought bitcoin and cryptos. Those regulations have only short term effect, they can't really stop this revolution.

I'm very optimistic this coming February. I'm seeing that there will be ONE good news that will tip all this negative sentiments into another bull run.
8367  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop Selling bitcoin folks on: February 01, 2018, 08:41:29 PM
people who dont believe in the tech and was in only to make a quick buck.. they should sell.. bitcoin is not for them !

let them sell.. the least weak hands in the game, better for the next run up !

Let the weak hands suffer the most. And strong hands took control of everything. Its very unfortunate to see the price of bitcoin nose diving, but hey, its their lost anyways. Let them regret their decisions later when they see the bitcoin bouncing back to $20K.

We see something different. People do not hold for long time as they invested because they expect profit in reasonable time. A lot of newcomers entered the market in Dec and Jan as they expected further grow. But this has not happened and we see strong dip. Anyway many people need money they invested back so they will sell despite lower prices. Yes brother, arrears and rents are due every month. The way to pay is to sell bitcoins which is happening now.
Who the heck is spending his rent money on bitcoin ? Bitcoin should be an investment of money you are willing to store in your bank account or money that  you could only afford to lose . It's never a good idea to put your life savings or rent money on something as volatile as cryptocurrency. Invest on your own risk and don't be surprised when all people are selling and the market is droping .The Market won't only go up especialy crypto market.

Correct. Invest what you can afford to lose. Others are mislead though and sell everything and invest on bitcoin. The market is volatile, no one is certain how the price will move. Its gonna be a painful experience to see today all your investment crashing because you put your life savings on crypto market.
8368  Economy / Speculation / Re: WHAT IS CAUSING BITCOIN TO DROP?????????? on: February 01, 2018, 06:30:58 PM
OK I found something interesting. There was a massive dropped rate in global hash as reported by one member:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2860913.msg29401312#msg29401312

The massive dropped rate coincides with the price of bitcoin dropping as well. This could be something that other experts here nee to look at. I'm still trying to dissect the situation. But again others who have more knowledge can chime in as well. Are there any connections? Is this Bitmain's way to manipulate the price in their favor?
8369  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Leave full time office job to trade crypto? on: February 01, 2018, 06:03:21 PM
Look at the current situation right now. Bitcoin is currently down and if you are just relying on trading it and other crypto, I'm sure that you will have a hard time getting profits unless you are really a pro trader. If you can still salvage and have a full time job and trading as a way to earn extra money then that is the best decision in my opinion.

And for those we heard that they left their job to pursue their crypto trader career, I'm sure that they have save enough money and have other source like business to help them survive. Its good thing to have a plan a/b/c just in case something went wrong in your crypto trading.
8370  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: KuCoin. Problems with the exchange on: February 01, 2018, 04:59:44 PM
Been contemplating of doing trades on them because I'm somewhat disappointed with HitBtc. Already made an account but I haven't transferred my coins yet. But when I read this thread, it makes me wonder if I still should go with my decisions. Although there's a lot of positive feedback from you guys, I might hold on it for a while and see how it goes to the OP.

Kindly update us on anything though. Maybe there's a surge of users coming to their platform that's why the support is really slow at this time.
8371  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Its over guys on: February 01, 2018, 04:30:49 PM
lol. I was reading the whole thread and I was just laughing about bitcoin going to 0. Bitcoin has died many times already for all we know. Unfortunately, it has reached almost $20K last year, although the price took a nose dive after that. But it doesn't mean that its over for bitcoin.

Kindly check its past history and you will know that after every crash, bitcoin fought back and hit all-time-high. After everything settles down, I can see that bitcoin topping $20K easy.

He's completely trolling or just a paid schill to spread FUD in the forum.
8372  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The Flippening! Ethereum. on: February 01, 2018, 04:06:12 PM
Money goes from BTC to ETH when there is a bloodbath and back when all is well.
Transfering between crypto is easier than to $.
Meaning ETH will get hit hard once BTC goes back up.

We used to see this same effect between BTC and LTC.

I agree. This is an old practice by seasoned traders. That's why everyone is saying that bitcoin and ethereum has mutual relationship. So I think that bitcoin investors are just shuffling their funds around the crypto market and will go back once FUD have stop and bitcoin enjoying a price surge again.

didn;t you say the same thing 7 mo ago, aint happening schill, mom is calling to get off her computer.

Around June 2017 to be exact. But the so called flippening didn't happen. Bitcoin goes up while Ethereum slided. Although Ethereum just passed the 4 digit mark, I honestly can't see it taking the top spot from bitcoin. Too many parameters needed to be satisfy before this things could happen in the future.
8373  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My opinion about ETH on: February 01, 2018, 12:15:04 AM
In my opinion , ETH is now more hot than BTC because the explosion of ICOs base on ETH Blockchain. During the recent dip, ETH price even a little come up, all altcoins and BTC holders lose funds but ETH holders still have profit. So i think that ETH will reach BTC price this year. What do you think guys?

I am firmly convinced that eth will take the reins off btc in 2018. It's just better, even with btc getting and lightning and actual scaling issues get fixed. The ethereum alliance is going to bring crypto into mainstream use.

I have to disagree though. I'm sure that ETH will also experienced the same problem that bitcoin is currency facing. When the coins grows, high cost of tx will be the main problem. ETH has big potential but I don't see it touching bitcoin price in the next 5 years.

Good to see though that it was able to break the 4 figures. And the top price that I can speculate is $2K for this year. Unless bitcoin suffers a major crash and went down to $1K, I really can't see ETH taking the throne from bitcoin. Not even the Ethereum alliance can make a sudden pump to the price of ETH.
8374  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Did I diversify too much? on: January 31, 2018, 10:21:11 PM
For example, someone told me it's nonsense to hold btc and ltc, because ltc follows btc pumps/dips and I should only hold 1 of them.
Should I consider adding a privacy coin?
Or even more "platform" coins like eth?
This is bullshit, pretty much every coin follows btc. Except if some coin is pumped or has some major update. You can make sure of this by going on coinmarketcap and see what happens now, when btc is dropping.

Well this can be true about a couple of years ago. But time has changed buddy. Not every coin now follow the pattern of bitcoin. Heck, in December alone, all coins are enjoying their best year so far. So that's mindset no longer applies to the current state of the market today.

My only comment on his portfolio though is put more money on bitcoin. You mentioned privacy coins, Did investing on Monero cross your mind? Another good coins for me to put some investment on it. And yes, ETH is one coin that I would love to invest as well. Just saying.
8375  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WHAT ICO SHOULD I INVEST MY SALARY IN? on: January 31, 2018, 09:53:45 PM
I will get my salary soon and would like to invest some  Smiley
Recommend me any ICO for long term. Or coins that just hit exchanges. I want to invest and forget about it for a year and see what will come out of this.

As for me, I'm very bullish on Skycoin and Neurogress. I was lucky to buy Sky for 4$. And Neurogress is ICO now. Don't know what will turn out of this but seems good. They develop a software for controlling devices with the power of thought. Strange that their telegram group has only 700 people although ICO starts soon. What I like about them is that they at least have some prototype of their technology.

Please tell me what you think about my picks, I also hold WAVES, NEO and IOTA, ETH and a little bit of BTC

Are you serious? Why don't you do your own research instead of asking questions. You will get different answers here because most of them will point you to the coin where they have already invested up.

Use the power of internet and look at the coins that you have mentioned and decide for yourself it they are worth to be invested with your hard earn money.

The only coins that has a proven track record is bitcoin. All other coins has the "potential" to be pump-and-dump, meaning artificial price movement.
8376  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 5% each day trading Ethereum on: January 31, 2018, 09:41:42 PM
Hi Guys,

When daytrading Ethereum, do you think a profit of 5% will be possible?

What's the maximum percencentage per day in terms of profit?
More than 5%?

Love to see your opinions.
Cheers

Its doable. 5% is a fair target to achieve if you are into day trading. 5% is also possible as long as you know what you are doing, the right time to exit and then roll your invest to get more profit. But just be careful and not to be greedy. Sometimes its one factor that will make or break you.

If you think that you have reach your target profit then no need to wait further. Get your profits right away. The market is very volatile, in a blink of an eye, your potential profit could disappear in thin air.
8377  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If bitcoin gets banned in a country, does altcoins get banned along with it? on: January 31, 2018, 09:20:51 PM
I don't consider a serious problem to ban bitcoin or altcoins by  one country.
In order to completely prohibit the circulation of bitcoin and altcoins, the authorities will have to disconnect the Internet,
which is absolutely unrealistic. Look what happens in China, where the government is trying to ban crypto-currencies.
They can not do anything. People easily bypass all prohibitions.

But the thing is, there might be consequences at the end if you are caught using/trading/owning a bitcoin in a country that totally puts a hammer ban. Of course you can get away with it such as proxies, VPN. But sooner or later the government will find it out and the full hands of the law will be on you.

Its a resounding YES for me. Governments that are against bitcoin will automatically ban altcoins as well. Because they will not put any distinction, as long as its crypto, its gonna be illegal.
8378  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is the bubble bursting? on: January 31, 2018, 08:48:42 PM
This bubble has been bursting since the last couple of years. They even says that bitcoin is already dead. But guess what, bitcoin is still alive and will remain, unlike those dotcom bubbles that really didn't recover AFAIK. This is just another test that bitcoin will overcome. We have seen this kind of bearish market every year and always rebounded the following month.

There's this FUD about the US regulators subpoena Bitfinex and Tether. When everything settles down, I'm sure that bitcoin will recovered and another positive reversal is in the horizon.
8379  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Unconfirmed transactions || What is the reason? on: January 31, 2018, 08:26:40 PM
Honestly , I think that the high value of unconfirmed transaction is the biggest problem in Blockchain , as well, It is one of the reasons for the decreased price in this period.
On the other hand, I guess that the main cause of this problem is the overcoming of transaction in a small time, and that lead to rise in value of unconfirmed transaction. and hopefully that this problem will be solved soon.

This thread was opened at the height of bitcoin price surge, that's why the confirmation is very slow and the cost of transaction is very high. But if you are going to check it today, its down to around 50K unconfirmed tx.

https://blockchain.info/unconfirmed-transactions

It seems like transactions are now sent much faster and fees have lowered. Although the Lightning Network is still in test phase on the test net, people are already using it, which devs are not so happy with. Because there still some work to do. Hopefully LN will be live soon and transactions will sent properly.

I assumed that more and more bitcoin users are moving to Segwit wallet. Its much cheaper and tx are very quick. Although with the legacy address, its still cheap but not cheaper as Segwit address. And when LN is implemented this whole scalability problem will be resolved.

Quote
Which fee should I use?
The fastest and cheapest transaction fee is currently 180 satoshis/byte, shown in green at the top.
For the median transaction size of 226 bytes, this results in a fee of 40,680 satoshis.

8380  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How To Make Money From The Bitcoin Crash on: January 30, 2018, 11:01:14 PM
The future is being played by Crytopia, BTC will grow strongly, trust me. Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
Well at the moment no one can predict the bitcoin price but I think buying bitcoin at time of crash with low price is really good and beneficial. At time of low price it is good to hold bitcoin and wait for bitcoin price to rise again for betterment of your future. Now everyone know price of bitcoin will be recovered very fast and it will not take more than a year so holding is the only gateway for success.

With bitcoin's proven record, its just a matter of time before it can recover. But as this very moment, we have been in the bearish trend that most of us have losing our faith on it. Its been a struggle, one day we will that bitcoin is just about $11K and we get too excited and thought that we can go to $12K. Alas, next day the market goes into another market correction.

Right now its a shade above $10K and I'm expecting that a lot of us are nervous again and thinking of pushing the sell button because we all losing faith. But I guess I have to hold on my faith, after all, I'm in for the long haul.
