Coinbase is the easiest method for US-based persons.
As you've found, MtGox is slow and Localbitcoins is unreliable. Coinbase requires a few days to verify your bank account (in some cases though, it is instant), but then you can buy and sell with a click of a button.
Basically this ^^ . Coinbase is the only way to go ...not sure why anyone would use localbitcoins.

My account appears not to have been comprised but I can't send any coin due to the "Sending has failed. The hot pocket may be empty. We have being notified of this." issue. Anyone know when this is going to get fixed?
All the bitcoins are gone, what don't you understand about that? It was taken thru the bitcoind and not the api like first thought. This ^^

The question is above. inputs.io has been hacked. This is a self-moderated thread , and any scam accusations , unrelated to the question may be deleted.
Eventually, ALL wallets get hacked. I think blockchain.info had a leak not long ago but can't remember. So, I should not store my BTC in blockchain.info either ? I recommend not a huge amount. I have small amounts scattered everywhere and large amounts off the grid. As TF replied this is exactly what can happen.

So yes hear me out. I don't know how this would work but if there was a way to allow certain Bitcoin Merchants both non-bitcoin and Bitcoin to have one Bitcoin address that is "locked" and users who get Bitcoins are "locked" in to spend to only at Merchants Bitcoin addresses and can't take it out of the "Merchant eco-system" - why you ask? This will finally allow people to pay in fiat via credit card or buy bitcoins with credit card - at the end of the day the merchant is getting Bitcoins either way (this is sort of like that trybtc.org site or whatever it is) . There would be no reason to chargeback as the person is spending the Bitcoins at the merchant. I don't know if I have articulated the idea well but sort me out. I know there will be a group who will say HELL NO I want to move my coins around anywhere and spend them anywhere. That is fine I understand.

How about we build our own small rocket and shoot it to the moon to implant the flag? Like we see with iphones and weather baloons. Either way get it crowdfunded in bitcoins http://www.bitcoinstarter.com
