981  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Crowdfund Homes in Detroit? on: August 04, 2013, 03:23:41 AM
Was thinking the BTCitcoin community should snatch up some homes in Detroit after reading this article:

http://homes.yahoo.com/photos/yahoo-homes-of-the-week-homes-listed-for-less-than-5-000-slideshow/

Quote
Detroit metro home values are expected to rise 4.3 percent in the next 12 months — the current median home value is $89,600 compared with $161,100 for the U.S. — but more than 400 single-family homes are currently listed for less than $5,000.

Could use BitcoinStarter to purchase a few with tier rewards being whatever we want to come up with as a community.  Anyone think its a good idea??
982  Economy / Services / Someone who understands BitFunder on: August 03, 2013, 03:48:51 PM
I'd like to IPO a project say in Bitfunder  but I have no idea how any of it works. I suppose compensation would be % of the IPO or ?

Thanks
983  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NFC Ring on: August 03, 2013, 03:34:04 AM
Wow, seriously? Could you please post some pics and, more important, your impression once you will actually use it?

Once I receive it I sure can.

I was one of the first in the kickstarter so I will be receiving mine in September (yay Erli Bird). The inventor has a number of great video demonstrations:

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mclear/nfc-ring

Still 19 days left if you want to buy one

Public vs Private example:

Cool video!   10 days left on BitcoinStarter! only 10 % funded.

986  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum for Android - Stretch Goals on: July 31, 2013, 06:47:35 AM
I would very much like to have another Bitcoin wallet available on Android, and I think Electrum could fit the mobile use case very well, but... I saw the design proposal on Reddit. Please stop the ugly! I would donate if there were to be a more .. professional look in the end.

Here's my tip on getting more donations:

1. Get a designer on board very early. Get sketches out there for us to drool for.

2. Explain more about why we want this software. What would make me prefer it to Mycelium, which works similarly?

As it stands right now, I feel that the main demographic is teenage gamers, and the main feature is support for one or more scamcoins. I can't bring myself to donate under those circumstances, sorry...

I think he went about /or is in the process of doing exactly what you mentioned. Very good ideas  Grin.
987  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitpages: The definitive bussiness and initiative database on: July 31, 2013, 06:42:01 AM
I really like this idea. Now If I could only be sure I'm not the only person in town with an interest in Bitcoin. Maybe I'll have to take an ad out in the multiple papers circulating.

I'm pretty sure there are plenty of businesses that take Bitcoin that nobody knows about.

993  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Can you contact Tradehill? on: July 30, 2013, 03:13:14 AM
TradeHill, Inc.
584 Market St # 44535
San Francisco, CA 94104
United States
info@tradehill.com
(503) 446-6127

No such address in San Francisco, there is a virtual office place called Earth Mail at 548 Market which I suspect is the correct address. The #44535 is consistent with others that use the service. Just do a Google for 548 market in San Francisco.

503 area code is Portland, Oregon.
