761  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Press any key to continue... Problem on: January 23, 2021, 08:27:01 PM
OS: Windows 10
Driver: Unsure
Algo:ETHash
Coin: ETH
Command Line: Unsure

Again new, so I apologize for leaving information that may be able to help you help me.

As for the lolminer, got it directly off Lolliedieb/releases on github, was released yesterday and was the same place I downloaded v1.19, the link I got directly from ethermine.org. Why I assumed it was safe. For the time being i just created a :loop in the .bat file so when it stops it restarts.

As long as you got it from the offical github its good....

https://github.com/Lolliedieb/lolMiner-releases/releases/tag/1.20

But we do have some malware posters dropping releases that dont exist or go elsewhere then the offical github.  Doesnt help the lol doesnt update the version in title or 1st page...but lately the devs have been slammed with updating.

Now back to the problem.

Open a command window....and cd to the directory woth the miner.  Then advise what command line you sre putting in.  Because it appears something is not executing properly and dumping you out.  The black terminal window does the press any key to continue...and i suspect thst when you hit any key the terminal window closes.  Now we just gotta figure out what wrong in the command line or config file.

Are you just double clickng the lolminer exe file from the gui?
762  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Dual mining ETH + on: January 23, 2021, 08:07:43 PM
To OP..DCR is mined now only with Asics....

Take a look at minerstat page showing what different gpu will earn per day on DCR.

https://minerstat.com/hardware/gpus?algo=Blake%20(14r)

Change your power cost to 0...and you still earn 0 per day...because even the best GPUS only get like 6ghs.....(and that is only mining DCR...it goes down when dual mining).  Even whattomine.com shows 6ghs earns 0 dcr....

A single Asic for DCR does over 50THS on DCR.  50THS is 50,000GHS...and your gpu will not even compete...like trying to mine BTC with GPU...somethings just dont work.
763  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining on Windows 10 and possibly fixing lower than expected hashrate on: January 23, 2021, 07:59:23 PM
Hmm, it sounds like I'm hearing this for the first time but it's true, anyways I never like mining on windows OS for few reasons and as per hashrate issue mining on Linux OS works better and also we have hive OS and other mining OS now so I don't need windows OS, it's too buggy

To buggy for you. Please don't always generalize windows 10, if good guided people use windows, then there is no difference between windows and linux, but windows is user friendly, because most people can handle it.

Windows runs for month without restart or problems, same on linux. I need 5minutes to setup a new windows rig and i need 5minutes to setup a new linux rig

Windows forced updates ruins anything good about windows for miners.  Plus the TOS for Windows makes it a no go for me.
764  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Help! Can't get my new L3+ to mine! on: January 23, 2021, 07:51:49 PM
You have no gateway and no dns specified (fields are empty)

Can you run the IPCONFIG?  and share the ip and gateway so we can double check you settings.

Then copy the gateway from ipconfig to l3+.
Set dns to 8.8.8.8

Also share the netmask...you show 255.255.255.0. but i wonder if this should be 255.255.0.0 based on your ip....ipconfig from a machine on the network will answer this...just copy what ipconfig shows to the miners netmask.
765  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Help! Can't get my new L3+ to mine! on: January 23, 2021, 07:26:03 PM
Sounds like a default gateway, subnet or DNS problem then.  Make sure all those network settings are correct.

What am I looking for with those settings? Sorry, I'm not very experienced with routers, everything is just set to the defaults (and is working fine for everything else).

Under Settings tab on the L3+

Netmask = is usually 255.255.255.0 (but can be different)
Gateway = your routers ip usually 192.168.0.1 or similar 1.1
DNS = 8.8.8.8.

On windows pull up a termianl screen and type IPCONFIG
look for Ethernet #

And should show you

IP address (which will be the address of the windows machine you are on)
Subnetmask (this is the netmask and you should set the netmask on L3+ to what the pc shows)
Default Gateway (this is the gateway to the router and you should set the gateway on the L3+ to what the pc shows)
Set DNS to 8.8.8.8

Save it and reboot the L3+...

Did you see Bitmain has new firmware for it from 2019...

https://service.bitmain.com/support/download?product=AntMiner%20L3%2B

There are also alternative optimzations from Hive Os and others for this miner.  I am looking to see if Bitmain locks your SSH ability with that firmware.  So read up before doing it...but may be as simple as old firmware.

Maybe check the pool website for the current settings port....etc may have changed.
Maybe provide the settings you are using so we can see if there is something incorrect.

Good idea! Let me see if I can attach some screenshots for my litecoinpool settings at least and the Kernal Log.

The pool you are trying to mine too does not exist.  At least not that i can find anywhere....

Try any of these :

https://miningpoolstats.stream/litecoin

It's #7 on the list on that link you posted. I also tried #5 and #13.

Ack missed it...tried going to their web url resolved to litecoin.org....so yeah pool is there...address matches..but isnt connecting pe your log pic..it states pool connection failed.

Can you login to the pool on the webpage?

Your config looks correct as long as the user id matches (case sensative).  Can you ping the miner on the local network?  did you check the dns settings (8.8.8.8 is a solid dns from google).

The error is POOL connection failed.  Check Internet, Pool URL, or Worker.

Pool Url looks correct.
Worker looks correct (double check you can log in via web)
So internet...check all your settings and try pinging or ssh into the asic from another computer.  Double check Netmasks and DNS settings.

There is no 1.20....that was malware posted not by lol dev but by spme newly created random user trying to infect people with malware.  I would purge that entire system...and i hope you dont have any crypto wallets on it.

Current version lolminer is 1.19

771  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining with GPUs from several constructor ? on: January 23, 2021, 03:00:59 PM
Hello fellas !

I may not use the right keywords but I can't find the information anywhere :
Is it a problem to use same GPUs but from several brands ? What if I build my own rig with :
- 3080 from EVGA
- 3080 from MSI
- 3080 from Zotac
- ...
Is it going to not work at all ? Or just being not optimal ? Or work perfectly ?

You can mix and match brands makes and models.  Depending on system you can even mix AMD / Nvidia.
772  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: lolMiner 1.19: AMD Miner for Ethash / BEAM / GRIN / Ae / Tube / Equihash & more on: January 23, 2021, 02:59:56 PM
I think there is a new realease in the github of the developer... 1.20

There are some interesting things for mix Rig with 8Gb and 4 Gb... and also interesting for making dualmining ETH+ZIL and ETC+ZIL... that is quite interesting because if you change your 4GB card to mine ETC you can get a nice extra mining the ZIL... nice job!!

very good features. I am wondering if the algo mix can be done only with ETH+ETC or with some other algos, like ETH+BEAM. I will try.

Good for my rig with ethos. At the moment I have the lolminer integrated in the system that is mining ETH with the 8gb cards and then I run another instance with lolminer to mine beam.
I can do everything with the integrated miner with the 1.20. Very very very goooooooodddd

This will allow you to update to all the new miners to current versions and add ones never support officially.

https://github.com/cynixx3/third-party-miner-installer-for-ethos

I run it on all of my ethos rigs. Ive moved newer cards to rigs on mmpOS because support beyond 10xx and 5xx series cards is limited or no existent on ethos.

Do you have igpu (video off the mobo/cpu)? if yes try enabling it in bios and put the monitor on it.

I can try it, but still these are 6GB GPUs not 4GB.
If I change the DAG buffer on GPU0 to single it is working but only 18-19MHs instead of 23.5MHs.

This "out of memory" error also hapened on my 1070 rig using the 2.42 version but on 2.38 it was working fine. But unfortunately this method is in not working with 1060 6GB  cards.  Sad

Yah saw that.  ive got a single rig of 13 1060x6gb cards.  Should get 23-24mhs each.
The other thing you might try is a mining OS based on linux from a thumbdrive.

If you can actually get one at MSRP I say buy now and think later.  I doubt it's variance is big enough to justify missing out because you hesitated.

No MSRP  Cheesy
But I bought and already installed here, running for 3 days

These are the settings:

TDP 52%
Core Clock - 502
Memory Clock  + 1169

61Mhs, stable and no reject shares

Consuming exactly 130w at the wall, software shows 114w
Running cool, less than 55ºC with 60% fan speed, another cards I have to use 70% to keep under 60ºC

Best efficient card I have in my rig

I have a 1050ti from them it mined for years and still works.

I can not find them 3060ti on their website.

https://www.galax.com/en/graphics-card/30-series/3060ti-series.html

But their store seems to show nothing available except 20XX series.

777  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ETH 1660ti Mobile version 6GB vram getting bad hashrate on: January 21, 2021, 06:49:17 PM
Mobile GPUs (in laptops ) are always weaker than real graphic cards mate, you can do a comparison between a mobile gtx1660ti vs the real gtx1660ti, you will see that the standalone gtx1660ti is more powerful, also I don't recommend mining with your laptop, a laptop that can have a gtx1660ti is costly I believe
It's roughly same spec with the laptop, I've just checked using Google right now, they are both using Gddr6 memory and the clock speed are near identical, it should hash more than 15mhs, something is wrong, but all the same you will kill your laptop if you use it for mining

I watch my heat all the time I never let it get over 75C I try to keep it around 72C I always have a box fan blowing on the laptop. Heat is not an issue unless you allow it to be.

Is your windows OS up to date? No other updates going on in the background? Also try increasing page file too, might actually help out, I will like to warn you though, do not mine on that laptop for 24/7, you will burn some things inside due to massive heat, laptop isn't a good choice for Mining that's why people don't mine on them

Yeah I'm always up to date on windows 10. Check them regularly always a habit.

Pagefile is set to 30 GB. My card has 6gb of memory I read online that 30gb is right for one card with 6gb of memory.

Heat is the only thing that will mess up any computer device and I never let my laptop get over 74C I keep it around 69C to 73C with a box fan on it and the bottom of the laptop cover removed and I have it elevated so it gets plenty of airflow. I monitor temps all day long.

You should be getting 27mhs atleast, what type of miner are you using? Try changing the miner to Nicehash or Minerstat software and see if there is a change, also are you sure that your laptop only has a single gpu activated? I've seen few with more than a single gpu and it's conflicting with each other

I have tried all the miners available that are the best. I'm currently using the most up to date t-rex miner. I've tried phoenix miner, and also some others. I've also tried nicehash and it will pick octopus or something else never eth. It also shows eth speeds at 15 mh/s or so.

This is an Omen 15 gaming laptop. I bought it about 6 months ago. I'm an I.T. tech and a big time gamer I am 100% sure I know what this laptop has in it. I even posted a picture of GPU-Z.

Nicehash software is picking octopus algorithm (Conflux) because it's the most profitable coin to mine for your gtx1660ti, also the mobile GPUs are always weaker than the real desktop GPUs, I'm sure that's why Nicehash pointed Octopus algorithm for you instead, do not stress yourself, you can't get anything better than this

It picked octopus because eth isn't getting the speeds it is suppose too and that's the only reason. This card is suppose to get 28 Mh/s on eth and it gets 15 which is half that. No one can convince me that a mobile gpu gets half the speeds of a desktop one when the stats are almost identical. I'm still trying to figure out why it's not hashing at the speeds this card is capable of.

No a regular non mobile 1660ti gets 28mhs...you have a mobile version which means everything is different.  Your vrms are going to be lower power ...all the subsystem on the card will be low power versions.  Thats why it is the mobile version.  If it was exactly the same as the regular 1660ti it would not have the mobile designstion and not be used in a laptop.  Laptops are specifically designed using components that are optimized for the lower power (battery) mode of the laptop.

You dont seem to get it.....if you want to prove it out go get an external gpu designed to hookup to a laptop and it will mine at full speed.  I know this becuase i own several.
when you open up the external case the gpu comes in...its has a standard gpu in it.  This is NOT what your laptop has in it.

The SSD doesnt matter.  I run my rigs off Thumbdrives just fine.  And on a lot less powerful computers than your laptop.  Mining on a laptop is only barely better than mining on a phone...both are really bad ideas.
778  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How do I know the Hash-Rate of the graphics cards? on: January 21, 2021, 06:00:52 PM
whattomine.com can give you an idea of what a specific gpu will do on a specific coin.
779  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Dual mining ETH + on: January 21, 2021, 02:24:43 PM
Its becuase zil isnt mined at all time the rig is running.  Zil is only being mined for a minute ever hour or two.

Based on my calculations it costs ETH profits to mie Zil.
780  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ETH 1660ti Mobile version 6GB vram getting bad hashrate on: January 21, 2021, 02:20:50 PM
Remeber this is a mobile gpu so everything about it is low power.  Thus dont expect much.

And mining on a laptop is one step up from phone mining.  Both are bad ideas.
