That is a bold statement. Quoted for posterity.  Let me add another statement: We'll see 1000+ almost instantly (let's say 3 weeks) once the tps limit is lifted substantially. |

Megahertz and I are making a web store that will sell all sorts of Icelandic products and will only accept Auroracoin as payment. Fortunately for all of you that are not located in Iceland, we will have international shipping so you all have an opportunity to buy stuff from Iceland for you Auroracoins.
So that being said I wanted to hear from you guys what it is you would like to be able to buy in the store.

Aktuell stehen Differenzgeschäfte und binäre Optionen unter Beobachtung bei der Behörde. „Anleger verlieren mit dieser Art von Wetten auf minimale Preisveränderungen bei Aktien, Währungen und Rohstoffen in den allermeisten Fällen“, sagte Elisabeth Roegele, Leiterin der Wertpapieraufsicht der BaFin, der „Welt am Sonntag“. pfff, lol, als ob das ein Kriterium sein kann. Die sollten mal Lotto in's Visier nehmen, da verlieren die Leute auch in den allermeisten Fällen. Durchschnittlich 47% des einesetzten Kapitals. |

Interessante Diskussion.
Ich würde mal sagen das was serpens (ich unterstelle einfach mal) auf bitcoin.de macht ist sicher kein "Hochfrequenzhandel" und birgt auch nicht die Gefahr eines "algorithmischen crashs".
Im Gegenteil: er stabilisiert den Markt und trägt zur Erhöhung der Liquidität bei, was stabilisierend wirkt (danke übrigens!)

Und one4many ich will dir nicht unnötig dieses off topic Thema weiter aufdrängen, aber es gibt einen existenziellen Unterschied zwischem Sparvermögen und Geldschöpfung aus dem Nichts. Beim Sparvermögen sind die Sparer ersatzweise Investoren die eigentlichen Kunden, auch wenn sie das nicht wieder selbst kaufen müssen. Ist aber die Grundlage.
Beim Luftgeld gibt es keine Kunden. Weil niemand das Geld hatte. Es sei denn, die Kunden bekommen jetzt auch Luftgeld.
Ist das so ein bisschen wie PoW vs. PoS? |

Hi All,
I'm trying to get a new electrum server started, but it doesn't seem to sync all the way with bitcoind. Bitcoind is up to the latest block, but electrum server is almost 1000 blocks behind it and falling further behind. At one point it was 941 blocks behind, then 966 blocks behind, ...
Edit: Can it take that much longer to process via electrum than to keep up with the blockchain with bitcoind? That is, if the hardware can keep up with bitcoind with lots of CPU and RAM to spare, shouldn't it be possible for electrum-server to catch up? The log just shows it dropping further and further behind. Perhaps I'm just missing something here?
The thing is slow. In my experience it take a lot more resources than bitcoind per block to digest. Maybe the insert into the patricia tree (?) utxo data structure is to blame? I wouldn't know. There was an alternative implementation mentioned further up (in java?). I've been wanting to give it a try, but there's no pressure (the machine I use for electrum server has plenty of juice). Maybe you can try it and report back? EDIT: found the post: |

thanks for the info. Unfortunately the report linked from the article seems to have been removed. Do you have a link or remember the ballpark amount of AUR recovered? Will it be given back to users? It's has become unlikely funds are given back. Our friend Vernon seems to have destroyed the evidence and so the server files. Without an up to date balance sheet it's impossible to (partialy) refund the users. hilarious! |
