More specifically this is what BFL brought to the CES convention. What was the point again? To show off all the extra space you have? BFL so fucking fail. LOL! This is what could use a damn explanation, Why bring an empty FPGA minirig shell? Why not a running minirig? They dont exist?

so there are still people sticking with them until march?
As long as someone is going to stepup and produce a product I'll stick it out. I dont want to lose my money but I didnt invest any I couldnt afford to lose so bring it on.

With the recent bad news of bASIC Im looking for some good news to bring me up. Any good news here with the HPC work/client? Or with anything?
Ive been trying to decide if I want to start using my loyalty points or not. Im still profitable without, maybe I'll wait and see what Avalon pushes out this week, if anything.

Me too! The "believer's" from a couple days back should be embarrassed. I am. Jesus, WTF??

Did Josh know this guy from before? Because I think the vid is made to make Josh out to look like an asshole, why would he be so belligerent from the start?
If you guys want some background on this... Micon came by our booth yesterday and started stomping around (literally, like a little kid throwing a tantrum) and screaming foul language at one of my employees "IS THAT JUST A FUCKING BOX OF FANS?! ARE YOU EVER GOING TO FUCKING SHIP ASICS? ITS JUST A BOX OF FUCKING FANS!" over and over. Needless to say, we did not want a repeat of his behavior today.
The lovely anti-semite "joke" he tried to tell me at the end of our encounter was also classy. I don't know if he thought I was Jewish or what?
If this is true then I would say it was called for and I retract my previous statement.

Just added a $1 and a $5.

Then hopefully it pops up a message telling everyone that they are losing money by pressing that CPU button ... Since there are "plenty of newcomers" that use the miner.
Why don't you try it and find out? Or are you just here for the trolling?BINGO!

Well in one of those other threads on their forum (announcements) in a post yesterday they said they will post a video TODAY of a working ASIC, not a production sample, but a prototype sample to prove their tech does indeed work. That will be interesting indeed!
Yes, as this will be the first proof of a working ASIC from ANYONE (as far as I know). Im excited to see it just for that fact. I really dont think Tom is out to scam anyone, he just got into a bind and had too much pride to ask for help. It finally just crushed him. That being said I still dont like the outcome of it all but I am keeping my orders inplace. I decided before I placed the order that I could afford to loose every penny of it and not be hurting. I dont WANT to loose it but it wont hurt me financially if I do. My biggest question is something I posted on another thread here, quoting Dave on BTCFPGA. Due to the delay with chip fab, the new team believes we *must* provide proof-of-tech. Tomorrow I will post up a hard date by which we will deliver a video showing a hashing unit. This will not be a production unit, but it will show that the hard work has been done (the chips work, the PCB design is complete). If the hard work is done and the chips and PCB are done, why back out now? Fab is in the US, right? so CNY should be no issue. I could see if there was an issue with the board or something but if its all finished... Just dont get it. That doesn't say a video will be posted tomorrow (today now), that says that by today they'll post a date of when a video will be available. Ah, Good catch.

Here's the latest - Tom has been working very hard to find a way to keep project bASIC moving forward. I believe he has found a way to do this. He will pull back from the project day-to-day and act as an adviser only. He still has lots of valuable knowledge and contacts for this project and it would be terrible to lose him completely.
Tom wants to find the best solution for the customers and doesn't want to introduce any further delay, but he needs to step back from this. He's shouldered a tremendous amount of pressure and stress and its become too much for him to bear alone. However, he has brought us a very long way toward the ultimate goal.
There are new player(s) that have come to the fore pledging to support this project - this may come as a complete buyout or by taking a cash equity position - the details are being hammered out over the next day or two. Tom has already put this project in the hands of a new team who will be able to realize his original vision, delivering all customer units by March.
These new people have a few things the project can really use: active involvement with Bitcoin, technical expertise, connections, experience, money. No its not any of our competitors. You will learn who the players are only when the deal is done and everything is nailed down.

Thanks to all you who are taking a supporting position on this project - you really prove to me that there is a positive community here who really wants to see bASIC succeed. quote from dave on btcfpga forums. If the chips and PCB are done, what is the remaining problem? Where is the stress from here on? Fab will bein the US so CNY should not be an issue. I dont get it.

Hello all. I am using K1773R's devcoin client for Windows and have been using it without issue for a month or two now but the other day the blockchain download just stopped at block 71999.
I have tried re-launching the program with -rescan which didn't work, then I re-downloaded the Devcoin windows client files again and copied my wallet.dat and addr.dat files into a fresh install which caused the client to begin downloading the blockchain from the beginning again but it got stuck again when it reached block 71999 and now the program occasionally shows the wrong address in the "Your Bitcoin Address" box but corrects itself when I click "Address Book" and select the ONLY available receiving address (the correct address for my client) and click "ok".
Any ideas...?
I had the same problem the other day. I asked about it in the main Devcoin thread and was pointed to this file: http://galaxies.mygamesonline.org/receiver_18.csv Download and put it with the rest of the receiver files.

Uh, 12-13 or so? in 1998-1999 or so. Used to build them quite often but its been a few years since Ive messed with one. I need to catch up with this whole HTML5 thing...

Is this something I'll need to do every so often? Or is it a one time thing?

I have tried to install the windows version of the Devcoin wallet and have failed at some point. It will open and start downloading blocks but stops at 71999 even tho I still have connections. Ive deleted everything and tried again but it still stops at the same 71999 block. What did I do wrong?
Try putting the Round 18 reciever file in your directory. There's a link on a post in page 58 of this thread. Will try it. Im still trying to figure out how exactly this works...

Do you want a dead Ipad 4? Mine with it and you can very quickly! And other note: it will generate very low Hashrate. Litecoin needs lots of computing power and lots of memory. An i5 2nd generation with only 2GB RAM avaible generate no more than 11kH/s (I tested this)
Im not sure what the ipad has compared to my android phone, but i can get less than 1KH/s with it. Not impressive by any means. :/

Tom had distanced himself from public view to a large extent and had delegated a lot of responsibility to Dave. The post Tom made on New Years was his first in awhile, but Dave has been all over inquiries. I too would prefer to see Tom posting more often, but if he's out moving the ball down the field then I'm fine with things the way they are. I will be a whole lot less fine if there's another delay and this hosting offer is just to cushion the blow. NY isn't far from me and power is pretty cheap here, I'll babysit the hardware thanks. Agreed. Unless the offerings are very very good I plan on keeping my hardware myself. It is, however an interesting idea. I wish I had access to the space to setup a hosting service like Josh offers (or used to anyway).
