Sorry, I was talking to Tawsix. I was trying to say "you" like this :

"You, Tawsix, are..."

NOT like :

"You, Tawsix, and myself..."

Sorry if my grammar failed 3:

I'm in at 4.5 BTC, at what time after auction will the BTC be do?
783  Economy / Auctions / Re: 5 BTC up for auction! Bidding starts at 1 BTC. on: November 17, 2011, 04:37:01 AM
So now we know that dollar auctions are rather unprofitable, lol...

Did you try... Advertising it?
784  Economy / Marketplace / Re: SkepsiDyne Integrated Node - The Bitcoin Mining Company on: November 17, 2011, 04:33:19 AM
Sorry, I misread what you were referring to regarding assets.

I don't know what "better" offer regarding absorption could appear. As long as my shares do not lose value and there is a competent person running the rigs, I consider it a non-issue what absorbs SIN. Has anyone made any offer to absorb SIN other than Shades Minoco?

Technically the only shareholder I am certain is taking a part in this discussion is you, Tawsix( and myself).
This is a public discussion. Whether or not I think we should continue to discuss absorption should depend on how many shares of the IPO votes regarding the liquidation. If it is a low number, I think a dummy motion should be created pointing to a private discussion (password or link protected access).

If not that, then I think we need to find another way to prove who has shares, if we need to continue to discuss.

I just thought we were going to be having one motion up for 5 days, but it seems like it may be weeks before we come to a decision.
785  Economy / Marketplace / Re: SkepsiDyne Integrated Node - The Bitcoin Mining Company on: November 17, 2011, 02:40:00 AM
I thought the plan was to have one motion decide.

just so everyone is clear what has been proposed by SDM is an absoprtion of all SIN assests, all equipment operational or otherwise as well as any information will be transfered from SIN to SDM and after relocation to a SDM location and evaluation/restoration(as needed) to operate as originally intended.
So we have two proposed options then:
1)  All rigs are sold for cash to whomever, and the cash is distributed to shareholders proportional to their LEGITIMATE shares.
2)  SDM takes over the mining operations by physically acquiring the rigs, though they are still owned by the shareholders.

This is correct, and once I get my client updated I will set forth a motion concerning these matters.

I thought the absorption has already been discussed and has been determined as the ideal alternative. Then again, you (Tawsix) havent really discussed it yourself, even going to the point of saying shakaru was disinterested in the idea of absorption.
786  Economy / Marketplace / Re: SkepsiDyne Integrated Node - The Bitcoin Mining Company on: November 17, 2011, 02:07:01 AM
Could you please give more details on the procedure for liquidating SIN and your estimate of the likely proceeds you will get for the equipment? Where will you be selling the company's assets? eBay?

If this motion is voted down, would you then consider Shakaru's proposal?

A vote of Yes is for the liquidation and against absorption. A vote of No is against liquidation and for absorption. If the liquidation is voted down, I expect the absorption to go through.
787  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: 20 bitcoins for a 60-70 dollar moneypak!!! on: November 17, 2011, 01:28:31 AM
Ah I see the confusion then.

Yeah you just need to buy a "green dot" debit card.  7-11, Walmart, most grocery stores, etc all have them.  Costs like $4 and comes with $0.00 balance.  You can fund them w/ a moneypak code.

Little tip: If you need a really big Moneypak go to Walmart.  They can issue $1100 Moneypaks most other places only go for $250 or $500 max.

Also on a related note, the same anti-money laundering laws (US federal) that cover money orders, now cover "stored value cards" like these. I will link my post on the subject when I get home.
788  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: November 16, 2011, 08:02:17 PM
While LTCs value finally seems to have gotten more stable something must be wrong with the reported difficulty.

I haven't gotten a block since almost 2 weeks, am I just unlucky?

You must be solo mining, so yes, probably.
789  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: 20 bitcoins for a 60-70 dollar moneypak!!! on: November 16, 2011, 07:58:13 PM
I got scammed with the moneypaks into paypal.  If the transactions get flagged, they can and will remove the moneypak funds from the paypal account. They will then lock the funds up until someone with a receipt contacts them.  If you are going to accept moneypak, you should demand a copy of the receipt.  Anyone buying the moneypaks legitimately will have the receipt and it should be trivial to post a private picture/scan of it somewhere.
Great info to know, thanks!

What if you put the balance onto a prepaid card? Sounds like the picture wouldn't be much to ask for, that should still keep it viable for buying/selling.

What transaction was flagged? Did you try and withdraw it? If so, that is why you were flagged.
That might work, but I bet your Paypal accounts maintains a negative balance or is just frozen altogether until you add funding to it again.  Not worth the risk IMO.

What are you talking about? When you add balance to a prepaid card, you don't go through paypal. If you put money on paypal with a moneypak, paypal expects you to spend it, not withdraw it. Never put money on your PP account if you're just going to withdraw it!

791  Other / Politics & Society / Anti-Laundering Policies US on: November 16, 2011, 04:24:08 AM
I recently found out that the current US (Federal) Anti Money Laundering laws now cover "Stored Value Cards", such as gift cards, moneypaks, and prepaid visas/mastercards. It no longer only covers Money Orders.

How do you think this policy will affect people looking to buy bitcoins, the bitcoin economy as a whole, and money laundering in general. (Bonus points if you incorporate Silk Road)
792  Economy / Marketplace / Re: SkepsiDyne Integrated Node - The Bitcoin Mining Company on: November 16, 2011, 01:13:48 AM
Here is what Tawsix says on first post of this thread.

Quote
As of July 11, we've sold 2,029 shares, and sold the BTC raised for over $15,000.
Also
I certainly wouldn't be suing him over my two shares by myself, but shakaru invested several thousand dollars worth of BTC by the sound of it.  That's something large enough that it couldn't even be settled in small claims court.

Yes, definitely not small claims court, especially if given total amount invested.

A correction.  ANYTHING can be settled in small claims court you just accept the max judgement of small claims court as the limitation of the settlement.  Given depreciation and the lack of business skills one would imagine that net asset value of the company at liquidation would be far smaller than $15K.

Lastly if an investor filed suit as an indivudal (not representing other individuals) for breech of contract only the value of his "shares" (portion of contract) would be relevant.

Thank you! Finally someone who knows something that dosent start with "I dont have the facts to back this up..."

If this would turn into a legal battle, class action representation is the way to go.
Any word on when the SIN GLBSE account will be working? All the SDM ones have no issue. Even raising a motion. How is it that only SIN is affected when a vote is to be called that would blow this scam out of the water?

I really think we should file a suit and get his fat ass into jail. This guy scammed us all and the biggest mistake he did was thinking he could get away with it !!! This is not Nigeria boy, this is the US of A. People uphold the law or get screwed by big Bubba in the prison cell. I hope that is coming for you Mr Scammer. Soon Grin

I want to see a quick liquidation or absorption... I am not interested in losing money just to bring Tawsix to justice. Taking Tawsix to court should be only considered an option to prevent losses, not something to be persued.

It is in the shareholders best interest to preserve the value of their return and taking this to court(at this point) will only increase losses.
793  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: 20 bitcoins for a 60-70 dollar moneypak!!! on: November 15, 2011, 05:56:29 PM
Do not give someone your bitcoins until you have the moneypak balance withdrawn to either a pre-paid card (greendot has these as well) or a paypal account.

Just be aware that if you add funds to your paypal account, it should be to either spend them, or to send them to someone else over paypal, paypal will take actions against you if you withdraw them.

I am not aware of any balance funded with a moneypak being pulled.
794  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Interested in selling 100 or better coins for cash locally on: November 15, 2011, 04:59:15 PM
http://btcnearme.com/  might be of help

I've never actually gone as far as to post an interest to buy or sell to one of those sites. Exactly what does it do to help people strike a deal with locals? Does it send an email to potential sellers/buyers if you are a buyer/seller (respectively) who put up a post? (or vice versa)
795  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Debit card BTC purchase help on: November 15, 2011, 01:41:35 AM
Paxum isn't doing it for me either.
Is there ANY way that I can buy on mtgox or tradehill using my debit card? I'd use the money pack and buy on here but no one ever knows if they can trust the other person.. And I want to get it done fast, without complications.

If you cannot seem to use Paxum to get MtGoxUSD with the site, you can still trade PaxumUSD for MtGoxUSD from another person.

I'll be in at 2 btc. What is your definition of "almost 2.5 carats"?
798  Economy / Services / Re: Gauging interest: A personal Broker for GLBSE on: November 14, 2011, 09:30:15 AM
Has anyone put any work into creating a custom client for the GLBSE? I'm not saying that there isn't the market or demand for a broker, but if the problem is with the complexity of the client(s), then perhaps it's the client itself that needs to be addressed.

Any news on the status of Nefario and Tawsix's client?

I have still not heard back from him, I have sent him a forum message in addition to the email I sent so hopefully he get's back to me soon.  Once I put the motion up it will last for 5 days so that hopefully all investors can get a chance to vote.

Nefario has been busy with a relocation apparently. https://glbse.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=243

ColdHardMetal may be able to help you with getting your hands on an up to do CLI client. I'm not sure exactly what your problem is, so I can't say for sure though.
