That link also speak only about seti and folding. It seems only these 2 projects exists in the world.

782  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins and distributed computing projects on: July 21, 2013, 03:59:17 PM
This argument is cyclical, too cyclic. Periodically someone open a thread asking if mining power can be used for projects like Folding or SETI (and only these 2 projects, NEVER other projects, never)

As always the answer is no.

Well, Press subboard rules are very clear, if you violate them then you just didn't read them. There are rules about the title and the post, that's all. We can discuss if a "news" is fine or not, but the rules about how to make a thread are very clear.

Get a Trezor wallet when it comes out. It will probably be the best thing around, to secure your bitcoins.

THIS

A hardware wallet is the best way to protect your wallet and do transactions in a secure way. Add a paper wallet and you are ok.

100 is cheap, not expensive.

787  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ASIC heaters on: July 14, 2013, 10:17:33 PM
Of course no one will do that for 1.46$ per year. But just multiply bitcoin value by 100 (wich would mean the bitcoin market cap would be 100 billions, still not a lot) and it would be 146$

Right now the bitcoin economy is still very small

789  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Question regarding BTC mining on: July 14, 2013, 04:18:44 PM
You receive something only when the pool find a block, so of course if you mine for some minutes you will see 0, check again once it find a block, you should have something.

Note that mining with 300mh/s is just lost time and lost power these days

I was just pointing out that ip ban= totally useless and also dangerous, as eventually someone else will use the same ip and will find himself banned for no reason

792  Other / Meta / Re: Marketplace trust on: July 13, 2013, 11:11:04 PM
Note that i am not saying that people should trust people with 0 trust. Remember: TRUST NO ONE

Just, trust 0 is just that: trust 0. Not positive, not negative. Why changing color? A different color means something other than "0".
793  Other / Meta / Re: Marketplace trust on: July 13, 2013, 10:59:03 PM
Wait, what?  At the least, I would expect a 0 trust rating to be neutral in value, not negative.

No. People who haven't done any trades (as far as the trust system knows) are dangerous.
Lolwut? Everyone trusted pirate and guess what, he was dangerous. But making people who don't use the trade section look like scammers is just fail.

Now i need someone to give some trust so i don't look like a scammer to the whole forum as my trust thing suddenly become yellow. Someone give me a +1, c'mon  Tongue

795  Other / Meta / Re: Name calling and Personal attacks need to stop! on: July 13, 2013, 09:22:50 PM
a possible solution could be to ban the IPs of everyone who is obviously making personal attacks

nearly one out of ten customers prefer this payment, they feel more confident of not being caught by the IRS

How would someone get cought by the IRS using cash? Do people really pay prositutes with creditcards ??

What's the IRS doing in Italy? What are food stamps doing in Italy? Maybe it's a translation thing.

I guess Google's algorithms are slightly overzealous in translating Italian terms to English equivalents.

Anyway, in many countries (including Italy) credit card records are not private and are shared with taxing authorities in order to detect lifestyles expenses that don't match declared income.  So there's an extra privacy concern wrt. using credit cards for sexual purchases: not only will they be stored on the credit card's history, but someone in the local tax office is guaranteed to also know about your escapades.

Yeah well, Italy is second in Europe for tax evasion. Only Greece evade more.
So all these records are pretty useless.

Stop using wallets that are stored on computers with an Internet connection...
Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin
This advice doesn't seem to be very useful.
Bitcoin works only with internet.
The advice actually is very useful!

You should not keep a wallet on a computer with an internet connection but you should keep your wallet in a hardware wallet like Trezor http://www.bitcointrezor.com/faq/ So you cannot lose your coins!
