Didn't understand your last sentence. You mean USA is OK with its allies massacring "other" people, but not "their own people"?

I think I'm getting it wrong because is obvious nonsense. The USA didn't care much about Bahrein slaughtering its own citizens.

This is ONLY about the money. Human lives don't mean shit to those pulling the strings.

no, i meant the gulf monarchies. as long as they don't kick over the traces and start seriously massacring their own people on a large scale US and western governments don't care too much about it
as long as they can make their money with supplies of weapons and observation-tech and it only streaks second pages instead of headlines in the massmedia at home (which could badly influence elections and innerpolitical sentiment).
eg gaddafi gambled too much and fought his last stand at some point only backed up by some mercenaries... assad is already turning this way.

hamas isnt in Syria. hezbollah got into it when there border was being used like the Turkish border. The EU and USA sell Quatar and Saudi Arabia weapons, they give them to the mercinaries in Syria. Some of the same weapons and mercinaries that were used in the Lybian "revolution" are in Syria. This is a traveling pack that is used by gulf monarchies to destablize any threat to them, mainly secular non-islamic goverments. The only thing that will stop the war is if pressure is put on Saudia Arabia to stop payrolling the mercinaries. This is not a civil war , this is a proxy war.

well sure it's a proxy war but imo also a civil war.
if a state lets its military force kill people because of their social affiliation to a certain ethnical group and minorities start taking sides in this conflict I don't know any other name for that.
i didn't mean that hamas forces are directly in syria but from what i know they are involved and support the rebellions and have divergent interests with hezbollah supporting the syrian military.
I don't think there will come a point in the near future where pressure is build on saudi-arabia.
A lot has to happen until western governments decide to put off their velvet gloves regarding gulf monarchies. (until they don't start massacring their own people)

This is a game of degrees, not wrong or right. Nobody knows with certainty. You can only evaluate your odds by examining many factors, and this is a factor I think people are overlooking (while getting excited about things that don't matter, like advertisements).

If I'm evaluating my odds i see an investment for one of the few companies for mining hardware that
- hasn't broken any promises or shipped overdue/shitty products to its customers (compared to most of the rest of the market)
- currently holds 10% of the network hashrate
- didn't take preorders to finance 2nd gen production (compared to every other company on the market)
- doesn't need to brag about data of unfinished products because there's no need for advertising to get preorder money
- has a good (if not the best) brand reputation in the small mining community

These degrees feel quite good for my taste of security in a wildly speculated high-risk market.

oh and while I'm at it let me evaluate...
user
- is short on AM
- is concerned when AM buys advertising space  Huh
- seems resistant to any positive news and instantly bad-mouthes them.
(irrespictive of the fact that there were no negative news besides growing competition (=based on promises for unreleased products), low divs because of 2nd gen investment and partially low hashrate charts in the last weeks)
- has ridiculous demands for shareholders' comfort from a small startup company (that isn't even given by big companies in a regular market), just to ease his position  Roll Eyes
- not informed on present delievery status of AM's product portfolio
- sometimes has a postcount of more than 50% per page on a speculation thread
- starts to seed doubts on company's reliability without any proof when he runs out of arguments ignoring the fact that he's just adressing fundamental risks that every shareholder should already be aware of in the first place.
- tends to get an sarcastic undertone after broad criticism and continues preaching his standpoint instead of confessing several flaws in his argumentation to allow a constructive discussion

you really seemed like a good counterbalance at first but shifting focus of a thread by constant posting from a goodlooking hashrate chart and decent news on advertising back to two pages of argumentation for your distorted standpoint is really the icing of the cake.

congrats and welcome to my ignorelist (with your rate of being quoted it won't help though)

Public companies are required BY LAW to hold annual in-person shareholder meetings, and quarterly conference calls. Most companies go far beyond that and hold frequent events and Q&A sessions for investors, as well as press releases. For many companies the CEO's primary job is investor relations - the COO and operations folks take care of the day-to-day.

you can't be serious to expect this comfort from a small company like AsicMiner in a chaotic market like that.
You realize that friedcat even personally refreshed the list of direct shareholders in the past?
Ever seen a CEO do that?
This is a small company with potential in a growing market. Give it some time.

Do you know why those other hardware companys like Avalon or BFL don't ipo and sell shares?
They take preorders as loanfree credits to produce some promised hardware that will be delievered whenever they want to.
789  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: September 08, 2013, 05:36:00 AM
Is this the new record?? something happen?? 2 gen chips into mining???

I don't think those are 2 gen chips, but:

August-September: Deploy/sell all hashpower arriving in July and early August.
September-November: Deploy/sell the hashpower ordered at early July.
November-December: Experimental products of 2nd-gen chips and modular large-scale deployment solutions.

How are things going regarding your business plan? Did you account for the sudden network hashrate increase? How is the international expansion of ASICminer coming along?
The business plan is unchanged. The network hashrate increase was still under our projection. The total hash target originally set for the end of this year would probably achieved earlier.

Worst case:
Only variance + advertisement space for hardware sells. Though not that bad.. Wink
"The grilled cat mining machine is a continuation of the quality of baked cat. Grilled cat quality, roast cat team embodies the physical ability. In the world of Bitcoin client roast cat, cat fans and the public trust grilled roast cat's shareholders, the firm and steadfast grilled cat is constantly moving forward to solid backing. After a competitor, overwhelming viral marketing style spread negative news, I believe that the cat will not make grilled irrational choice and let his client fans be sad. Let us follow the roast cat vast cock wire counter-attack of wealth now!"

Uh, so nobody is concerned about the fact that the CEO is choosing to communicate product line updates to his shareholders via advertisements?
Not at all. That's normally how shareholders find about about products.

No... it's not. They're usually announced at shareholder meetings or industry conferences.

so you're concerned because the company your holding shares of rents advertising space on a forum to reach a potential customergroup?

sorry, this point of view is just ridiculous!!!

oh, i just forgot... Wink

Guys what happened to this week's update?  Shocked, Did I miss something? I checked F.C. profile. Nothing.....  Cry

He's working. At this point, a year after the IPO and 2000% growth, you either believe in Friedcat's abilities or you don't.

I don't want any more announcements until new shit is in place and / or ready to sell. I don't need weekly reassurance, and I don't want plans leaking to competitors. I like the opportunities provided by panic and capitulation. I want Friedcat doing what Friedcat does, which is executing better than anyone else in the game.

Bit of a lucky streak last six hours.

i think this counts as a small update.

more supply:

"Workingman's Death" (AUT / GER 2005) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0478331/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1)

This documentary is a disturbing but also fascinating portrait of physical work in the 21st century.
Director Michael Glawogger has the unique style of just presenting scenes and interviews without any further comment.
It's up to the viewer to form his opinion and expand his view of the world.

The only annotation to this movie is a famous citate from William Faulkner:
„You can't eat eight hours a day nor drink for eight hours a day nor make love for eight hours --all you can do for eight hours is work. Which is the reason why man makes himself and everybody else so miserable and unhappy."

movie is split into several episodes (couldn't find the complete version on the web in english):
playlist: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Ch8zL2_oWk&list=PL073F9F1BF743735E

Epsiode 1: "Lions"
Activity around the Port Harcourt meat market in Nigeria.

Epsiode 2: "Brothers"
Pakistani men dismantling oil tankers with their bare hands.

Epsiode 3: "Heroes"
                Freelance Miners in the Ukraine.

Epsiode 4: "Ghosts"
Men mining sulphur on a volcano in the east of Java, Indonesia.

unfortunately last two episodes are missing (please pm or comment if somebody knows where to get them):

Episode 5: "Future"
Chinese steelworkers in Anshan, a city in the province Liaoning, China.

Episode 6: "Epilogue"
Scenes from an ancient smeltery from the Industrial Age in Duisburg-Meiderich, Germany which was converted into an amusement park.

I highly recommend documentaries by this guy and if you liked the first four episodes perhaps think about buying this one for the collection if you're a docu gatherer (like me  Smiley)
795  Other / Politics & Society / Re: So... Al Qaeda are now our friends in Syria? Cool! on: September 08, 2013, 01:42:57 AM
I wouldn't say that Al-Qaeda in syria is funded by US. (perhaps more by accident because of the intransparency of the whole situation)

the rebellion forces in syria are split into several groups with different backgrounds:

according to an independent documentary i saw lately a lot of jihad fighters (most probably of Al-Qaeda) come to syria via the turkish border and can move freely within that border zone.
Supposedly these forces are financed by Saudi Arabians and turkey seems to be ok and its military takes no action against this.

Then there's the secularistic rebels that are financed by western governments and fight against assad not because of religious background but they just have enough of the dictatorship and nepotism of Assad Family representing a small minority, the alawites.

On top you have sunnites representing 70% of syrian society and a lot of other minorities (kurds, schiites, turkmen, palestenians, christians etc.).
Sunnites and every minority again have their own or allied forces.

now throw the interests of countries (USA, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Iran) and of islamic groups like lebanese hezbollah, palestenian hamas in the pot and you get a really strange brew.

besides that one thing is for sure though:

This is a great opportunity to get US military in action, spread the footage worldwide on the media and let john doe forget what's going on with snowden affair for some time.
796  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is there a online alcohol website to buy with bitcoins? on: September 08, 2013, 12:02:10 AM
I would buy good quality Tequila with bitcoins. Where I live there is a government monopoly on alcohol and quality Tequila is very rare. I shipped myself alcohol when travelling so I know it's working.

same problem here. it's ridiculous what dishwater is sold for 20-30 € in my city compared to local products.
(some friend brought a local vodka from poland for less than 10€ and it was the best vodka i've ever tasted.)
I also send some bottles to my place when i'm on holidays.
A global network of local manufacturers selling via a trading platform would be really nice.
Probably something like this already exists, haven't searched for it though.

i really smell some business opportunity here  Smiley
797  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is there a online alcohol website to buy with bitcoins? on: September 07, 2013, 11:43:15 PM
i just imagined a trading platform where you could buy these neat local alcoholic gems that are so hard to get your hands on except during holidays.

vodka from east europe and scandinavia, whiskeys from scotland and ireland, some nice absinth...southamerican rum...everything locally manufactured
Some of this stuff costs a fortune after import and you only get the commercial overexpensive brands in big cities.

sounds like a big market gap for SR  Cheesy
