781  Economy / Gambling / Re: Evolution — report for Q3 (HOW THEY EARN THAT MUCH?) on: October 31, 2023, 04:28:25 PM
Their games are fair in the sense that they officially have an advantage over players, and they are not hiding it. Their profit is only telling us about how many gamblers are using their products, I don't understand why do you think it implies they are cheating. Like other people said in this thread, they don't need to cheat because they are making big money legally. Why risk your license?
I agree with you, they certainly don't rig their games. But I'm not sure they are always as fair as they could be. For example when they offer games with multipliers like lightning Roulette, Baccarat, BJ, etc. Why they don't use real dices, a physical wheel or a provably fair scheme in order to draw the multipliers? They just appear on a screen and nobody knows how and when they've been draw. Using a physical or provably fair tool would prevent them from offering smaller multipliers when more players are playing, when players have made big winnings or when the remaining shoe is not in favor of the house for example.

785  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My $50,000 betting goal by 2024. Share Your Thoughts With Me. on: October 29, 2023, 07:55:54 PM
I consider this year in terms of betting to be over. I have had some pretty decent wins. However, one mistake I made was not starting this year with a betting goal, which would have been the specific amount of money I intended to win. Instead, I began the year with the goal of gambling responsibly, and I'd rate myself around 80% in achieving that.

I am sharing my sports betting goal for next year with the gambling community because I highly value your insights and seek advice for any adjustments. I hope to gain expert advice. My goal for next year is to generate $50,000 through betting. Here are the strategies I plan to employ:

First, I will make every available promotion, bonus, arbitrage opportunity, injury information, and stale lines..

Second, I will take advantage of various accessible sportsbooks, which may include legal, offshore, or local options based on jurisdictional regulations.

Third, I will carefully build a bankroll that involves a selective approach to low-cost, high-potential profit angles to mitigate the risks associated with betting swings

Fourth, I will evaluate the expected value (EV) of each betting angle because achieving my $50,000 goal requires realistic assessments and potentially exploring new, uncharted angles.

Fifth, I will leverage my networks to maximize potential profits.

What are your thoughts on these strategies to assist me in achieving my $50,000 betting goal by 2024?
You didn't reveal your initial bankroll but with this strategy I think your goal is more than achievable with less than $50k as an initial bankroll tbh, and I wouldn't be surprised if you've already done it before. But how will you cope with sportsbooks when they will spot you as a long lasting sport bettor winner? They will lock or close your accounts one by one before you can whitdraw your winnings along with your deposits. They are businesses, their goal is to make money, not to give $50k every year to a random customer just because he is a good bettor, you shouldn't forget that.
You didn't mention the Kelly Criterion strategy for your risk management, you are not using it btw?
786  Economy / Gambling / Re: Evolution — report for Q3 (HOW THEY EARN THAT MUCH?) on: October 29, 2023, 07:42:16 PM
I don't think their games are rigged because with so many people playing there, including professionals, able to record their games, they would be already debunked on social medias or by serious journalists, and even halted by authorities before being sued by many players and casinos, customers of the company.
But I find few things weird. On infinite blackjack tables, the RTP is "based on the first hand in the shoe" while for traditional blackjack tables, this addition with an asterisk does not appear. Players in the chat often say that bots are playing when someone split on a pair of 10s or hit on 20 or 19. So I wonder if Evolution doesn't use bots for counting cards and hitting and splitting when they detect that the remaining shoe favors the player over the dealer...

787  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 Oscar Awards bets and discussions on: October 29, 2023, 06:57:33 PM
Bookmakers really think Barbie will be nominated for the ceremony as a contestant for the best picture of the year? Along with Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling as contestant for best actor and actress of the year? OMG it's insane. There is an option to bet against that somewhere? That would be crazy to be honest, I don't think it's a bad movie, but we are talking about the award of the Oscars academy here. For me, it was more a children or teenage movie than an adult one. And especially, more a long advertising for Mattel and Barbie toys than a serious movie.
788  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anti-Gambling Tools on: October 29, 2023, 06:48:50 PM
There are tools like blocking softwares. What this software do is to block gambling websites so that you will be tempted if you see one. This could word in conjunction with the self-exclusion you have activated for your online gambling platforms.

Here are some of the blocking softwares that I mentioned,

Source

You might want to try it and see if it's effective in your end. And of course, you need to practice your brain, re-wire then to think of positive things besides gambling. And the last one is to seek professional help.
You should be careful about the softwares you mention here because the first two of your list, Gamban and Gamblock, are not free, they are paid applications and the third one Betfilter doesn't seen to be available anymore. The only freely available app of this list is the last one Betblocker, I have mentioned it in my previous post above. I don't know if OP is ready to pay or not for that service, but it's useful to know that some solutions are free unlike some others.
789  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Greed or risk on: October 29, 2023, 06:39:51 PM
I saw this image below on one of my friend's WhatsApp statuses earlier today. I don't know if the game was played by him or if it was an image saved from somewhere, but the image got me thinking, and we got into a debate because of that.

I was telling someone that if I'm the one to have such a slip and the game is already showing me to cash out such an amount of money, which is equal to $865 based on our local exchange rate, seeing such an amount as cash out available and leaving it will make me appear like someone who is too greedy, but the guy was telling me it's not being greedy but it's all about taking risks. The debate didn't end well, so I decided to bring this up here to see the responses from experienced gamblers.

Lucky for anyone who ever has that bet slip, it seems like the game played in his favour.

You should be careful with this picture "Pot. Win" means Potential Win it doesn't mean cashout value offered. So unless it's a special promotion or a glitch from the app, I don't think your friend was able to cashout his bet @2.73 before the start of the match, and even before its end since the last goal has been scored in the 92nd minute by Jude Bellingham(for Madrid), it was the 1-2 goal which is the final score while Barça scored the first goal of the match in the 6th minute. So I think your friend would have been a surprise if he thought he was able to get that money at that time.
790  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: IRS proposes unprecedented data-collection on crypto users on: October 29, 2023, 05:58:17 PM

Don't do KYC, use DEX as much as you can do.
you can say that but they have other things in mind. to put DEXs on the same footing as places like coinbase.

For this reason, the proposal states that the IRS expects some decentralized exchanges and selfhosted wallets may be forced to report their customers’ private information.

Quote
enjoy those things while they last because there are people behind sites like Bisq and Localmonero. And if the IRS comes breathing down their neck they'll drop USA customers like a hot potato.

The premise seems to be partly based on “whether a person is in a position to know information about the identity of a customer, rather than whether a person ordinarily would know such information.” The proposal states that this distinction is made because some platforms “have a policy of not requesting customer information or requesting only limited information [but] have the ability to obtain information about their customers by updating their protocols.”
USA (and European Union) administration can do many things but they can't change sovereign countries laws, no-KYC exchanges exist in regulatory havens like Switzerland. There, it's legal to let customers exchanging 1000CHF(~$1100) by day without requiring KYC. It's their law. So I think some KYCless solutions will last for longtime, at least for small amounts, somewhere in the world, fortunately.

791  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anti-Gambling Tools on: October 29, 2023, 04:54:40 PM
So, here's the deal. I've been into crypto gambling, and I've realized that, despite my best intentions, it's a bit tough to control the urge. I've tried the self-exclusion route in the past, but it seems some crypto casinos still find a way to let me back in.

I know I've got an issue, and I've accepted that. Now, my goal is to manage it better and avoid any unnecessary damage to my finances.

I'm curious if any of you have faced a similar situation and if there are tools or methods you've found effective in controlling crypto gambling. It feels like most platforms lack daily limits or deposit controls, making it a bit challenging to stay on track.

Would really appreciate any advice or recommendations from those who've been through something similar.
Have you tried to look for some apps and browser extensions in order to block or filter gambling sites?

792  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have we seen the lowest low of this bear market? on: October 28, 2023, 09:56:31 PM
Since the FTX crash I listened a lot to Gareth Soloway and Nicholas Merten from Datadash. Both expected lower lows. Soloway even expected BTC to get under 10k at some point. With the recent price rise I'm a bit worried that the ship has sailed. In his most recent video he no longer mentioned these lows. He even mentioned a 50k possibility for this year.

What are your thoughts? How big of a price rise do you expect if an ETF gets approved?
And is a scenario of World War III (Israel + USA + NATO vs an alliance of Islamic countries) bullish or bearish?

You shouldn't listen too much those so-called forecasters when you trade, because if you lose money, you will just accuse them and you won't learn from your mistakes.
Regarding ETF approval I don't think it will have a significant impact on the price, as it is already priced in by the market IMO and because CME and CBOE futures listings along with Bakkt carried high expectations towards the community but didn't really pull up the price sustainably at the end.
793  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can someone explain how liquidation works ? on: October 28, 2023, 09:49:59 PM
In trading crypto, there are people who trade crypto derivatives or futures. In this kind of trading, people either short (predict that the Bitcoin might go down, so they get profits) or Long (predict that the Bitcoin might go down, so they get profits). On top of that, they use leverage (Borrowed funds). Once they open a position with leverage with funds in his account acting as collateral, a liquidation price is set. If the market price goes against the opened position beyond that liquidation price, the exchange's Liquidation engine will close the position and take out all the collateral the trader used for borrowing.

So in the case of the recent market uptrend, there are traders who opened short positions against Bitcoin and most of them probably had their liquidation prices set at 30K,33K, 35K depending on the leverage and entry prices. When the Bitcoin price rapidly moved upwards, the positions that had no stop losses got liquidated, leading to news of massive liquidations.
You don't need to trade deratives or futures to get liquidated actually. You just need to make margin trading with random (real) coins. Margin trading means you use borrowed funds that let you short or trade with a leverage. And if you are liquidated it's because your balance dedicated to the position in case of isolated margin trading or your overall account balance in case of cross margin trading is no longer sufficient to cover the loan. The exchange will then sell your funds in order to repay the loan.
That is to say if you are shorting BTC against USD for example, they will sell your collateral in order to buy back the BTCs borrowed you had sold in order to make your short trade.

@piebeyb I haven’t tracked FUN prices for a while now because I’m holding them with a minimum target of keeping them for 5 year’s and every downfall is an opportunity to buy. Furthermore what makes FUN special is that it’s not linked to any Ponzi scheme but to an site who’s operation we actually understand and that’s why I yet continue to believe in this token and will always suggest to buy it.
I agree with you I think in few years, FUN can rise again thanks to the quarterly burns. FUN's quarterly burns, where a portion of the token supply gets permanently removed, reduce the overall supply over time, which can potentially drive up its value. So we must be patient but with a total supply decreasing every 3 months we can be confident for the coming years, along with that I'm sure some other casinos or gambling sites will add it as a deposit option one day.

Salut !

797  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: TrustWallet on: October 27, 2023, 09:57:02 PM
I specify that right before the upgrade of the wallet everything was working fine.
It's been a while ain't used this wallet but as I remember before when I was actively investing in altcoins, it seems I encountered the same as your problem.  So after their system updates this is what I did, I cleared the app data and cache can help solve an issue like this, or log out of your account and uninstall the app, reinstall, and log in again.  In that way, seems like you refreshing the app and your account, and their system will work well at your end.
Uninstalling and reinstalling the app this is what advised me the chatbot (powered by GPT) from their so called "support" but I have several tokens from blockchains and layer2 networks(Optimism, Arbitrum, Polygon, Gnosis chain,...) that I add to set up manually because there were not available and it bores me to look for their set up somewhere on internet and to enter them one by one again while I am not sure it will solve the issue. So finally I have installed Metamask on my smartphone, set up the most important tokens I need to use on it and I'm using them through the Wallet Connect feature. They say it's an "experimental" feature but it works very well for me. I hope an update will fix those bugs soon though.

RUGBY WORLD CUP Bronze Medal Match

Argentina v England

Its half time and England lead, the match actually is riddled with errors and Argentina
while struggling early on came back into it

The odds at half time are 6.25 - 1.15

IMO Argentina should be lower odds, I really think thwy have a stronger chance to win this,
if they can cut out the errors which hands England the opportunity to at least kick their penalties.
Nice pick bro, only few minutes remain before the end of the match currently, and England is only leading by 3 small points (23-26). It was definitively a good value bet, and everything is still possible as of now. On which sportsbook did you find those odds by the way? This is live odds or pre-match ones? Because the ones I've seen for Argentina were way lower than that. So if it's live odds, I wonder if the bookie really evaluated them properly.

Interest paid over your holdings up to 25% annually by locking your FUN tokens on the platform. You can choose between 5 different packages, which go from 15 days to 360 days. It means that during that period of time your tokens will be untouchable and you will have to wait until the time expires, so you can cashout or sell your tokens once again. Usually, I lock my FUN for 30 or 90 days to have more versatility over my tokens from times to times.
thank you very much for explaining. can you withdraw your FUN anytime you like?
No, once your funds are locked you can't access them anymore until the end of the locking period. That's why several periods are offered : 15days, 30, 90, 180 and 360, with different APY though(5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%). So you will get more profits if you lock 100FUNs 30days than if you lock them during 15days + 15days.
You can also get some other perks if you buy FUN tokens on Freebitcoin through the Premium Membership program(I don't know if it works for deposits or not)
