It's called partial reinforcement scheduling. If you want to keep 50 sheep at the fence, feed two some grain, then stay in sight of all of them, and they'll all stay, hoping they get theirs.
What you are describing is a Ponzi. A scam is, most often, where everyone gets fucked. BFL is certainly a Ponzi, and i suspect before too long they will pack up shop and move to Costa Rica, or the FTC will kick down the door and seize everything. Either way, i feel like i got bent over the table. If you have ordered from BFL and have not yet received your product, you are entitled to a refund whenever you request one (per FTC rules). First ask BFL for one, they will probably say no but you might get lucky. If you ordered via PayPal you can file a complaint with them even if you are outside the 45 day window. One customer has already gotten a refund from PayPal that was outside the 45 days. If you ordered via BTC or Bank wire, you can fill out a complaint with the FTC and they will advocate for you with BFL to get your refund. If you have ordered from BFL and have not yet received your product, you are entitled to a refund whenever you request one (per FTC rules).

Maybe D&T is just part of the older generation. The 2 space after sentences was something they did in the early days of typing, I think. I had a teacher in middle school who told us to do that in reports. I think you are right. It's a legacy of learning to type at a certain time and place. I distinctly remember my typing teacher (teaching us to use an IBM Selectric typewriter) telling us to put two spaces between sentences. This probably dates Satoshi (and the rest of us) as having learned to type with an older typewriter standard, OR from someone who taught an older typewriter standard. More conclusively though it places Satoshi as having learned in an English speaking country. The sportsbook's website wordwager.com was parked last week. SBR has received many complaints of fraudulent activity from World Wager players over the past four years including deleted winning bets, creating new rules to void winnings, and simply refusing to pay part or all of player withdrawals. WorldWager solidified its scam status in 2004 when SBR questioned the book about deleting months of betting history and lowering account balances. WorldWager's owner responded:
"If the lines posted by worldwager.com are off by more than 1.5 points on any point spread sport or posted incorrectly (reversed), management is entitled to delete any wagers placed on the wrong lines. In any money line sport, if the lines are off by more than 20 cents, management is entitled to delete any wagers placed on the wrong lines."

When I evaluated all of the online books on the market (over 2 years ago), I found most of them to be utter crap when it came to user interface.
