81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still believe in ETH ? on: August 26, 2018, 07:30:37 AM
I think people still believe that ETH is a bit paranoid. In fact, our high speed ETH has lost its value. Why do you still want to believe it.

Paranoid about what? Can you please clarify? Ethereum might have lost quite a bit of value recently but so has bitcoin. That doesn't mean you shouldn't believe in either of them. Some people also don't measure the value of crypto purely by the current fiat value and can see the bigger picture in the longer term.

82  Other / Off-topic / Re: Are we evolving backwards? on: August 26, 2018, 07:27:44 AM
Yeah, advancements and technology do exist in our era but based on researches it seems that we are losing instead of gaining in different terms of pur humanity and character. Discipline is naught; birthrate increases but resources becomes depleted. The lifespan of a human is gradually going down. Nature is becoming more dangerous than it was before.

Are we really moving forward? Or are we lacking some essential aspect that a human requires?

Evolving backwards? Seems a bit of an oxymoronic phrase. Devolving? Devolution? Evolution doesn't work that way. Your question seems to be more of a philosophical one than anything else but doesn't seem to be based on facts either. Birthrates might be increasing and population along with it, but we're living longer and longer, especially in the developed world. Are we getting worse as people and more cruel? That's arguable. I think we've moved on a long way in terms of racism and discrimination but some people still clearly lack compassion for their fellow man and we've still got a long way to go. I don't think there will ever be a time where everybody sees eye to eye and there's no global-disagreements on something of other. We're still too primal and tribal at the end of the day and this is always going to lead to issues and wars etc.

JoeySalads who's making social experiments in u.s.a..

You forgot the 'fake' in front of social experiments. Joey Salads is a pretty entertaining guy but his videos are pure fantasy and they often have a dangerous message which distorts the truth and misleads those who are viewing it.
84  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why people don't vote? on: August 25, 2018, 10:34:06 AM
We recently had election and only about a half of voters turned up for the vote.

Don't people realise it is their democratic right to vote, to be able to influence where we are going as society? Don't they realise what a priviledge this is compared to old times and places with no democracy. It is a duty and responsibility in my opinion. If you don't vote, then don't complain!

So do you think people should be forced to vote? Surely it's also your democratic right not to vote if you don't wish to, unless you live in one of those silly countries that forces people to do so by law. If I was forced to vote I would vote for the worst possible candidate as a protest vote and that's actually what many people do when they're forced to. Why even force people to vote who have no interest in doing so? Someone with no knowledge or interest in politics obviously isn't going to make an informed choice. I think those who blindly think their democracy is a great thing and people should vote no matter what are quite naive. Often your vote really doesn't make a difference depending on the type of voting system and you end up having to choose between Tweedledum and Tweedledee. Look at the last US election. There were people voting for Hilary Clinton who actually despised her and everything she stood for, but they believed she would be the most competent over the complete buffoon and phony that is Trump, but would she have been any better? I doubt it. In fact, she may have been much worse and I'm almost certain that she would have started more wars over her term. So yeah, if you don't want to vote then I don't think you should be telling people they should.
85  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do not respond to FUD threads! on: August 22, 2018, 08:25:25 PM
But what about those that ignore the "Do not respond to FUD threads"?  Grin People are never going to stop listening to fud. Sure, some people including myself ride out the waves of fear, uncertainty and doubt and generally ignore it but there's always those legions that don't and panic and that's why it's effective. There's a lot of trolls here as well who get their kicks from it so they're never going to stop because that's what the enjoy. There are also those that will profit off the dips so it's in their interests to keep the cycles going.
86  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-08-22] Apple Co-Founder: Crypto World “Like the Internet When it was Brand on: August 22, 2018, 04:29:09 PM
I agree. Certainly in 2010 and 2011, it felt like the internet in 1992 and 1993.  It seems more like the late 1990s right now, but that was still a great time to be involved.

So...we have a huge crash coming around the corner?  Wink

LOL. You could probably argue that that already happened.
87  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-08-21]Zimbabwe: Crypto is a Criminal's Best Friend, the 'Social Engineerin on: August 22, 2018, 03:56:52 PM
Well this is funny. Zimbabwe, a country who drove their fiat currency into the ground by over inflating it is complaining about a decentralized currency.

Besides, fiat is actually a criminal's best friend. I can guarantee you that most criminals just use bitcoin as a way to get more cash. They earn bitcoin then just cash it out to their countries fiat. This is just fud at the end the end of the day or very least just pure ignorance.
88  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin ever stop depending on fiat currency? on: August 22, 2018, 11:56:11 AM
Well in theory that could happen if people only used bitcoin or crypto for transactions, but that's likely to never happen, just as the entire world doesn't just use one currency. Also you have to remember people are likely always going to trade it for something else whether it is fiat or another crypto and even fiat currencies are traded against each other and lose or gain value over time due to numerous factors so they will likely always co-exist together.

I am not sure if this exist now but do you think that a time will come when bitcoin will be used as payment for service? Like what is happening now but instead of paying in fiat money people will be paid in bitcoin instead?

Um. Seriously? This already happens. Some people who work for crypto businesses get paid directly in bitcoin. Just check out the Services sub board here. It's an entire board dedicated to people offering their skills or work in exchange for bitcoin. Even you could do it. Many people even get paid by signature campaigns here and those are people who are getting paid to offer their advertising/promotional services. Not sure how effective they are to the people paying them but they certainly seem to be popular here.

Ethereum fell to $270, but it didn't last long. It rose again. I think this is just a wave of the market. We don't need to panic too much. I will continue to hold my Ethereum. I believe it will be in the future. There will be more room for growth.
These guys predict that ina month ETH will drop in the min price, but the price will be in the $600-700 range ina few years, so it makes sense to hold it for now. http://30rates.com/ethereum-price-prediction-tomorrow-week-month-eth-forecast.

All still just speculation at the end of the day. One person says it will fall by X and the other says it will rise by Y. Who is right or wrong? Only time will tell but speculation is always just that; speculation, and is never an exact science, with the majority of the time it just being pure guesswork. I tend to pay little attention to either optimism or fud/fomo, but I believe in certain coins longterm and eth is one of them.
91  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-08-22] Apple Co-Founder: Crypto World “Like the Internet When it was Brand on: August 22, 2018, 08:21:52 AM
I certainly share his enthusiasm. I've often compared bitcoin to like the birth of computers or the internet or even big companies like Apple and Microsoft. They all changed the world and those who invested in early reaped the rewards later on. Bitcoin obviously isn't a company and needs both computers and the internet to work, but I see it as like the next best technological advance, or at the very least the future or even evolution of money.
92  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who will benefit the most from bitcoin/cryptocurrency? on: August 22, 2018, 08:18:29 AM
I have a friend who is interested in getting into bitcoins but he does not have a lot of savings or any major investments. He also has a lot of debts to pay and has an average wage job with a family of 4 to raise. When we were talking yesterday, I thought: who really would benefit the most from investing in bitcoin or cryptocurrency? Can those who are like my friend get into bitcoin even though he has no major investment? Or is bitcoin only for those who can afford it?

Well as with anything if something costs something then you will likely only be available to own it by purchasing it or finding other ways to acquire it. Some people might go get a job because they want to buy a new TV, and others might do a deal with someone that if they do some work for them they will give them a tv in exchange. You could apply this to bitcoin. If you want to buy some with your own money then you can, but you can also earn bitcoins by providing services etc. Many people join signature campaigns here to earn bitcoin and all that includes is time and effort, but it requires no monetary investment from you. If you have any skills like design or something then you can offer your services in exchange for bitcoin also. If you have debts like your friend does then I would suggest he clears them first because those aren't going to go away by themselves and interest will only be accruing which is the opposite of investing, so get the debt sorted first.
93  Other / Off-topic / Re: Deleting post question on: August 22, 2018, 08:09:15 AM
Then exactly that will happen: you will lose post count. I believe you would also run the risk of going down a rank if you deleted most posts but since you're a Newbie this obviously won't happen to you. The forum works on some sort of "activity" system but I don't understand it 100% fully myself but if you delete posts you will lose activity and it explains it a bit in this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2766177.0
94  Other / Off-topic / Re: addiction to drugs on: August 22, 2018, 07:58:34 AM
I was addicted to drugs when I was young and it was hard to stop, how do you think to get rid of drugs?

You can't get rid of drugs, nor should you. If people want to take drugs then let them. Most people who do drugs can do so without getting addicted. I've met very few alcoholics in my life but know plenty of people who drink socially every now and again. Of course it can always become a problem but that's the individuals responsibility. I don't think we should be telling them or anyone else that they shouldn't or can't be drinking or doing these drugs. It's all about moderation. People who get addicted to drugs use them as self-medication and they're using them to numb some sort of emotional, physical or mental pain so you need to look at the root issue of what is causing that first, but drowning your sorrows or using drugs to cope with trauma is a quick way to get addicted very fast.

You must forced yourself to avoid it. If you cant help yourself go to Rehab

Why go to expensive rehab? Lock yourself in a room. Rehab only works if you have the willpower and if you have the willpower then just stop doing the drugs. It isn't going to be easy but that's the only way to stop at the end of the day.
95  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why would anyone choose to live singles? on: August 22, 2018, 07:53:41 AM
Why in this world there are people who do not want to get married and in choosing to live singletons, when we as humans definitely need offspring and biological needs such as sex and other needs.

One: We don't definitely need children - I don't want them. Two: You don't need to get married. It's pointless. It's a bit of paper and a ring and I don't believe in it. Three: You can have sex whilst being single. Many people don't see the need just to shack up with one person for as long as they can stand them. There's nothing more pathetic than someone who is in a relationship with somebody they don't really like much but are scared of being lonely or going without sex until they find the next person. You can have a much more fulfilling life being single without having strings attached, especially if the person you're in a relationship just makes you miserable. I've had plenty of friends over the years that stay with their partners even though they spend half the time arguing and being miserable. The moment that happens to me I walk away. Don't have the time or energy for arguing over nothing. I'd rather be by myself and lonely and miserable then with someone who made me feel lonely and miserable. If you want a relationship though you do you, but that's not the way everyone lives and the whole date for a bit then get married as soon as possible isn't really how things work these days and is becoming fastly outdated tradition.
96  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you stop calling Bitcoin an investment? on: August 22, 2018, 07:35:57 AM
Clearly people are using or buying bitcoin as an investment. Merely telling people to stop doing so is futile. It's just not going to happen. It's largely those who are treating is as so that are pushing the demand up for it. We should be thankful that people are choosing to invest in it because if it was merely a currency then the value of it would and should be more stable. If you personally want to just use it as a currency then you do your thing and that's fine, but we shouldn't try dictate to others what bitcoin is or isn't to them.
97  Economy / Speculation / Re: Aug 23 ETF Deadline... on: August 22, 2018, 06:54:09 AM
I thought the decision was next month in September not this one?

https://www.coindesk.com/sec-delays-vaneck-solidx-bitcoin-etf-decision-to-september/

The previous rejection didn't have a huge impact but gemini have been unsuccessful before so no-one expected them to succeed anyway. This won't be the last application so a rejection won't end bitcoin, but it will delay the next bull run

The one last month did. A denial is never going to be good for the price because people always panic like idiots.
98  Economy / Speculation / Re: about bitcoin price??? on: August 21, 2018, 05:25:24 PM
I am new to this field , this field about crypto currency and bitcoin my friend introduced it to me
Now I got an confusion that , why the price of bitcoin keeps falling why so ??
If it is so then how to trust it??

Bitcoin isn't falling. One bitcoin is worth one bitcoin. For as long as bitcoin exists your one bitcoin will still be worth one bitcoin. It's just what people are paying for it in filthy fiat that changes and that is always going to go up and down due to supply and demand. Whether you want to take the risk and invest is up to you but nothing is guaranteed and you could lose some or all of your money so invest with caution.
99  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Adoption or Regulations why way is better for bitcoin ? on: August 21, 2018, 02:44:48 PM
There has been so much FUD/FOMO lately about the bitcoin ETF proposals, debates on its merits and demerits,  it makes me wonder. What is actually better for bitcoin, Is it some form of government regulations like ETF approvals or Gradual mass adoption of cryptos in general?  What's your take?

Bitcoin should not be regulated because it is decentralized. ETF approvals only makes speculators of crypto manipulate the market.
It is better no government involved for cryptocurrency i think, because it is only causing some high volatility in the price of crypto.

Bitcoin might be decentralized, but systems that use it like payment processors aren't and are in fact the opposite. The ETF is a centralized system governed by a governmental body and that's what this is about. You've also got to remember Bitcoin is like being your own bank and whether we like it or not banks or those institutions that deal with cash payments are going to need regulating.
100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it better to have many altcoins or it is enough to have few? on: August 21, 2018, 02:42:18 PM
You should bear in mind that the more coins you have, the more chances of you making bad investments.

But on the flipside of that you can just as easily say that if you only have a few coins you run the risk of investing in a bad one also. If you put most of your money in one coin or all your eggs in one basket as they say and it's the wrong coin or "basket" then you're screwed. That's why its sometimes better to diversify your assets or at least put the majority of your money in a stronger investment but take a gamble on a few more risky ones and hope the gamble pays off.
