361  Economy / Economics / Re: 100 yrs to mine the last million bitcoin? on: May 30, 2014, 02:12:09 PM
I'm not sure I can see a time when the price isnt steady. It just seems to volatile. And it doesnt really matter when the last coins will be mined because we wont be here to witness the event.
362  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC or LTC will replace Paypal some day? on: May 30, 2014, 02:03:30 PM
I think payment processors will always have their place in the world, or will at least for a really long time, but bitcoin will hopefully eat into their profits and business eventually. It's good to see companies like PP taking note of BTC though. I think theyre wise to.
363  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does Bitcoin Require Regulations? on: May 30, 2014, 01:59:18 PM
People here really tend to flinch at the word 'regulation'. Regulation is not always a bad word. It's probably ineviotable if we want bitcoin to grow as a currency.
364  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin-freindly countries ; Developed or developing? on: May 27, 2014, 04:30:31 PM
I think growth is going to come from both developed and developing nations. Most seems to have come from devolved countries but I think we'll see a boom in devolving countries from the remittance market etc.
365  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-5-25]Report Suggests MtGox Fraud Led to $1200 Bitcoin Price on: May 27, 2014, 03:14:10 PM
I don't buy it. China is not even in the mix in this scenerio, and everyone else seems to agree that it is the Chinese who pushed the price up past $1000.

The value isnt all down to China. People just like to speculate when the value is just down to supply and demand really.

Markus never had to pay any fees on his trades and neither of the trading bots had a country code attached to their accounts

Mark K should be in jail by now, how come he isn't?

He probably will be eventually. I'm sure there will be criminal preceedings against him eventually.
366  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn up to 2.4 BTC/Month by Posting on: May 27, 2014, 03:11:45 PM
Oh "posts that consist of images or +1's " could also be removed by mods anyway.

So I shouldn't worry and continue writing just like I did before

They'll only be removed if you report them so report them if you see them. Mods dont patrol the forums constantly and will miss most stuff if its not reported.
367  Other / Off-topic / Re: FIFA World Cup 2014!!! on: May 22, 2014, 05:01:59 PM
Ah man, Suarez is a doubt for the World Cup now. If he isn't fit for the tournament then that will surely damage the threat of Uruguay going forward, and thus their chances of getting out of the group. Mind, they still have a decent team.

I didn't think they'd get that far anyway. The whole team cant be based around ome player either.

I'd know it's more work but I'd prefer keeping them both. Some will prefer one to the other but at least they can make their own mind up and choose which one to view then.

372  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is there any paying get paid to work website that pays in bitcoins? on: May 22, 2014, 03:28:54 PM
Why dont you do some work in fiat money - then go trade into bitcoin like most do? lol.

You can try to advertise yourself on the services section, if you have a freelance skill.

What are you good at?

But getting paid straight in bitcoins is better. You dont have to deal with banks and exchanges and not everyone has access to banks or wants the fuss of being verified on the exchanges etc. Plus no paper trail is left if you wanted to avoid that sort of thing.
373  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is there any paying get paid to work website that pays in bitcoins? on: May 22, 2014, 03:22:03 PM
Sites like fiver? I think I saw they accept bitcoins.

I'm pretty sure they only accept them as payment but do not payout in bitcoins. Hopefully they'll change their stance on this though as it could be a big market and easy way to earn your first coins.
374  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Urls next to BTC addresses on: May 22, 2014, 03:10:15 PM
How do you make those custom url btc addresses?

You need a blockchain.info account.

I think he might mean vanity addresses. You need to google for vanity generators, but be careful as some of them are scams.

Thanks! Do you know any by chance? before I go googling around. Why do you say some of them are scams? Is it not good to get a custom btc address or something?  Smiley

Well they might not be secure. Some of the websites can have flaws or are set up to try scam you. They can be made safely, but you just need to be sure. Always test them with a small amount first.

Does anyone know best way to order pizza in UK with bitcoin?

http://www.takeaway.com/

Accepts Bitcoin apparently, I'm going to try and order.

Yes it does and it's a great service. Give it a go next time you order a takeaway. It has a ridiculous selection of stores. I hope we can get other similar websites like justeat.com to accept it.

377  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What does the Bilderberg Group think of Bitcoin and Crypto's? on: May 22, 2014, 02:49:46 PM
IF you find out where they're holding the next meeting I doubt they'll let you in to ask lol. I'm sure they're keeping an eye on it, but I don't think they'll be worried yet, but hopefully they will in the future. Cryptos could certainly topple the banking dynasties that's for sure.
378  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin ever reach $1000 dollars again? on: May 22, 2014, 02:45:24 PM
Yes.

I believe it'll be well over $1,000 within a year: http://cryptocoinstats.com/priceforecaster.php

I'm sure it will, but we can't go by them sort of price forecasting charts as they're not magical fortune telling devices.
379  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Ransom for Cryptolocker on: May 22, 2014, 02:25:25 PM
CryptoLocker  seems to be a raltive new and fast spreading virus that "hackers" use it to make money...sadly..
And even worse,
Quote
Someone is selling a DIY malware kit that builds custom CryptoLocker knock-offs for just $100.
http://www.geek.com/apps/100-malware-kit-lets-anyone-build-their-own-cryptolocker-1581505/

Wow that's bad. Do those kits come with the bitcoin payment option? I guess this is sadly one use where bitcoin is also an advantage to criminals.
380  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Ransom for Cryptolocker on: May 22, 2014, 02:03:38 PM
IS there no other way to get rid of it? Can't you take yourl drive out and put it in an external caddy and try search for the virus? Usually works for me.

According to wikipedia, "Although CryptoLocker itself is readily removed, files remain encrypted in a way which researchers have considered infeasible to break. Many say that the ransom should not be paid, but do not offer any way to recover files; others say that paying the ransom is the only way to recover files that had not been backed up. Payment often, but not always, has been followed by files being decrypted."

I'm afraid that would most likely not work. If the virus is real it will have encrypted all the files already.
However, depending on how recent the backup is (you DO have backups, do you?) the simplest way out might be to reinstall the computer and recover files from backup.

Regarding the immediate need for buying bitcoins: localbitcoins.com is probably easiest, a very nice alternative is the local trader feature that comes with the mycelium android bitcoin wallet.

Oh wow, that really is a bastard. It'd be terrible if you paid the ransom and they still didn't unlock your files. I guess this is a warning to back up your stuff just in case this ever happens.
