Apple just unfortunately has the brand and legions of loyal followers. Their products look good but there's much better devices and computers out there. People really just need to start voicing their frustrations and boycot them with your money and dont buy their stuff until they chnage their practises.
422  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitPay Purportedly Raises $30 Million from Investors Including Richard Branson on: May 13, 2014, 08:31:01 AM
1000 a week is an insane amount. I guess it'll only keep growing from here. Getting merchants adopting the currency is exactly what we need to push it forward and take the price with it.
423  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CeX buys and sells in Bitcoin! Webuy.com AND has ATM in glasgow store! on: May 13, 2014, 08:08:28 AM
I also saw about the last time somebody posted the news here but then the option to receive bitcoins disappeared. I don't think I'm ready to spend any of my coins at the current price, but I will when they rise up a bit again.
424  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is your dream job? on: May 13, 2014, 06:20:32 AM
I'd like a job where I could travel the world or something in whatever capacity. Not sure what it could be or if I was even bothered as long as I got to see different places for free. So much of the world to see and so little time / money.
425  Other / Off-topic / Re: Question about dreams/night terrors, do you get them? on: May 13, 2014, 05:58:37 AM
I used to have weird recurring nightmares as a kid, but I don't think I've had any as an adult. I have plenty of dreams, but like the user above said I forget them very quickly after waking up.
426  Other / Off-topic / Re: Mobile phones you ever used on: May 12, 2014, 07:11:00 AM
I cant even remember the models of most of my old phones. I had a big motorola brick as my first one then a slimmer but still huge siemens phone, then onto a load of nokias, none of which I can remember the exact models but I know what they look like. I might try find the images on google or something just for nostalgia  Cheesy.
427  Other / Off-topic / Re: Saving private key in MS Word on: May 06, 2014, 06:18:25 PM
I am actually curious about how people really store their private keys. I have read several people saying stuff that indicates that they keep digital copies (not just written down or memorized.) But then other people are all like OMG OMG OMG no you can't do that it's not secure! You need to like, make a special file and then encrypt it and then double encrypt it and then copy it on a USB drive and seal it in a capsule and swallow it and poop it out and re-eat it every day just to be safe.

But realistically I doubt most people, except the very very select few super ultra obsessed geek nerd kings are going to such lengths.

It's good to be safe and secure but sometimes I think people go over the top. If you use a clean computer and back up your wallet or save your private key on a pass-word protected document and store it safely you'll probably be fine. I don't think you need to rar it then encrypt it then encrypt it again and store it in a safe within a safe lol. It just seems overkill.

If you boot from a ubuntu live disk and do something like back up your wallet or copy your keys down you really will be fine.
428  Other / Off-topic / Re: Donald Sterling Racism Controversy on: May 06, 2014, 06:17:04 PM
you underestimate her. you think she's not smart enough to record a tape of him being racist? she's a gold digger looking for her comeuppance.

If she was a gold digger, then she would have waited for him to die, so that she could get a share of his fortune. Remember that Donald Sterling is already diagnosed with terminal cancer. But when he loses his money, she also loses a part of her potential future inheritance.

Right now Donald Sterling will lose around $200-300 million in Capital Gains. That means that she also lost tens of millions of $$$.

you are probably unaware of the situation. sterling's wife sued her for "being a temptress." she probably came out with the info in response to that. and what makes you think she's in sterling's will? she's just one of his mistresses.

How exactly can someone get sued for being a temptress? It's interesting to see he doesn't like black people that much but it doesn't mind fucking them.
429  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Jeremy Clarkson and the BBC licence fee on: May 04, 2014, 05:55:12 PM
The licence issue has always resurfaced whenever one of the bbc fat cats steps into it
Clarkson is an egregious case of a pompous bully and fart

I wonder if they'll ever stop the liscence fee? I really wish people would just boycott it en mass. That's the only way anything will ever change. They cant penalise everyone and if people just stopped paying it then they'll surely get the message, but as usual people don't really care and just pay it and get on with their lives.

I don't understand why we're forced to pay for the licence at all. They should just get their money from advertisements or privatise it instead. There just seems to be so many fuck ups with the BBC as of late and we foot the bill. Some of the salaries they pay people lark Clarkson are ridiculous.
430  Other / Off-topic / Re: FIFA World Cup 2014!!! on: May 03, 2014, 04:12:49 PM
I think Brazil will win, but I hope England will win. Cheesy

I don't think that Brazil has any chance of winning this world cup... Sure, they will be having the crowd support, but I think this time it will be Argentina. And regarding England... I don't even think that they'll go past the first round.

I don't think England will either, but I think it will be very close. I reckon Argentina and Brazil for the final.
431  Other / Off-topic / Re: what to do with large amounts of cash? on: May 03, 2014, 04:09:32 PM
does OP have a record? is that why you are wary of this? i don't think a cop will bring a k9 with him when pulling him over, much less ask to check his car. even if he did, OP could refuse it.. unless he has a record.

He already said he doesn't do anything illegal. He just gets paid in cash for his work. Which means he can't prove how he got the cash nor does he pay taxes on the cash he made. At least thats what I take from this thread.

He could have a record for something previous, and not paying taxes is technically illegal lol.
432  Other / Off-topic / Re: what to do with large amounts of cash? on: May 03, 2014, 03:15:37 PM
My advice is take the time to wash your cash. People seem to forget or just don't know that cocaine is on the money. With a large sum of cash, the smell of cocaine can be picked up by police dogs. Just wash your cash, put it in a bag with dirty clothes and nobody will ever know.

Will that actually work though? I'm not sure you can easily get rid of all drug traces just by washing money.

You could always wrap it up like drug dealers do cocaine after you wash the money. Or you could place the cash in something air tight.

I don't think even doing any of that fools the dogs though. I've seen videos of stuff that has been packaged and consealed insanely well and they still sniffed it out.

Love COD and this looks awesome. Interesting to see Kevin Spacey is in it too. Didn't know that. Can't wait to actually get my hands on it. What's everyone elses favourite COD game?

Reminds me a bit of Jennifer Anniston's behaviour in Horrible Bosses where she sexually assaults her patients under anaesthesia, but I guess it isnt that funny when it happens in real life http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P1PJc-ZxEy8
436  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the biggestest threats to Bitcoin? on: May 03, 2014, 12:23:29 PM
The biggest threats to me are the media if they keep on the attack and spreading propoganda but also from the price fluctations. I just dont see how it can become a mainstream currency if the value dips as much as it does. I hope there will be a way around this somehow.
437  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-05-03] CoinDesk: New SMS Bitcoin Service Aims at Emerging Markets on: May 03, 2014, 12:20:12 PM
Wow this is interesting.  Sooner or later bitcoin will be the real e-money accepted worldwide.

IMO, this is a good start. And the plus point is that you don't need a smartphone or a laptop to trade the coins. That makes this service very attractive to the poorer countries, such as those in Africa, Latin America and Asia.

That's a very good point. Sending coins or payment via text messages could be great if you have no internet connection. I think this sort of service could really catch on and push the currency to where it might not have been able to get to previously.

The Black Keys Bullet in the Brain.

yeah the quaalude scene had me laughing too. it's the funniest thing scorcese/leo have done, so it wasn't expected.

btw, jordan belfort sounds like a sociopath. he's a "motivational speaker" now, which just means he collects money from naive people for speaking and making them feel good about themselves.

SPOILER ALERT  Tongue  for anyone who has not watched it yet .

Where's the spoiler exactly?

Yeah not really seeing any spoilers here lol.
440  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-04-29] Bitcoin entrepreneurs target Mt Gox lifeline on: April 30, 2014, 04:31:28 PM
I can't see it either but I have no idea why people would want to resurrect Gox. Are people actually going to want to use it when we've got better exchnages already?
