261  Economy / Digital goods / Re: 6 hero member on: August 15, 2014, 09:38:33 AM
Why risk being scammed buying one account, when you can be scammed buying 6 accounts?

That is 6 BTC deal or more, since the only Hero announce I see is around 3 BTC. Invest such ammount on forum accounts is too much, I think

Agreed. This seems very dodgy. What are the likelihood of someone having 6 (noe 3) hero accounts and actually wanting to sell them all? Plus, having six hero accounts and none of them have avatars seems unlikely. I'd avoid this deal to be honest.
262  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Anonymity so important to you? on: August 11, 2014, 12:03:06 PM
Anonymity is important if you want to kidnap or assassinate someone and get paid without consequence.

I never thought about that, cryptocurrency is really awesome for ransom!

I discover a new way to use BTC each day. Amazing.
So far, BTC is not anonymous. You'll need to use something else.

I think it's pretty anonymous. You don't know who I am and I don't know who you are except for a username.

It's not truly anonymous, but the people behind it or using it can be if they're careful. IF you look at the transactions happening on the blockchain it'll be hard to trace them to a real world identity, but you could find some into out about them if they were sloppy.
263  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin a project by the CIA??? on: August 11, 2014, 06:33:25 AM

i think your resources from the fake sites. a lot of the information isn't right reported on there.

for my advice, we don't easily accept the information that has not been recognized of the truth.

I hope this post doesn't stop us to earn bitcoin.

It is a fake site run by a well known troll here who likes to spread fud and promote his crappy businesses and ebook rubbish.
264  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice.com | Most Popular Bitcoin Game! | 700M+ Bets | 400k+ BTC Wagered | on: August 10, 2014, 12:26:37 PM
So I lost the 0.01 giveaway because of not having 30+ activity?
Can we get that activity and then get it or it's lost?
Damn, I had plans to gamble dat 0.01

Nah, I doubt it will be retroactive as it was to stop people abusing it with new accounts or alts. I'm sure there will be more giveaways announced soon so best get that activity up by contributing in the meantime.
265  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn Bitcoins Simply By Posting on: August 10, 2014, 10:43:37 AM
What are your predictions about the rates of the fixed payments which will probably be introduced the next month?

We don't know yet. There are some rumours about the payments being activity-based in the future but we'll just have to wait. I guess Stunna's main priority is launching PD3 so we'll probably hear about this after the launch.

Yep, true, so not much point speculating on it. Also, since stunna made that announcemenmt there has been another pay per post campaign enter the field which is also higher paying, so maybe you guys could even see a raise. Only time will tell or an update from stunna though.

I'm quite sure Stunna mentioned this program would be closing as the automatic affiliate system would be a replacement (0.09% from BTC wagered by refs)
Btw that post you just made about a "raise" is a load of junk. No proof at all you just said that to get hopes up.

I'll try find the post where he mentioned the affiliate earnings would replace the campaign

Are you sure? I don't think he said it will be replacing the campaign but people could use ref links as well. People will just go to a different paying deal that pays per post instead. Cant just rely on ref income.

I'm pretty sure stunna is not gonna raise the payment you get per post.

Why would he not? He's done it before several times when a new higher paying competitor comes about.
266  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 0.2 FEE!!!! ? am i missing something? on: August 08, 2014, 01:33:01 PM
Oh, really? I think I must've been using the custom send then. That's good then. I'll try do that next time  Cheesy.
267  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 0.2 FEE!!!! ? am i missing something? on: August 08, 2014, 01:28:06 PM
If there's one criticism I have of blockchain.info it's that you have to manually input the fee so I can see how this could happen. It should be autofilled with the suggested amount based on what transaction you're attempting to send.
268  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Here is how to have your own pre-paid bitcoin card without limits and fees! on: July 24, 2014, 09:47:27 AM
What requirements are needed to open a EU bank account?

Well it's pretty easy if you're a Euro citizen, but you need the standard documentation Passport Proof of address and some sort of bill with your name and address on it will help.
269  Economy / Digital goods / Re: $100 Starbucks Gift Cards for $40 on: July 14, 2014, 07:10:32 AM
How are the points sent to users from you to buyers? Do we just need to provide you with an email address or user ID? I just tried downloading the Starbucks app but it's not compatible with the current version of my ios. Can I set up an account online, then how do I transfer them to a card?
270  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Where is the Blockchain Apple App? Its been over a month. on: July 14, 2014, 06:58:33 AM
I'm almost positive it's an issue with Apple. Has blockchain.info provided any information about this? It seems weird that it's taken so long to reappear on the app store.
271  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: the biggest problem with Bitcoin? Nobody uses it ... on: July 14, 2014, 06:56:35 AM
Almost everyone has heard of the Bunny Ranch, but few people use it.

I guess that means Dennis Hoff should shut it down even though it has made him millions. Clearly it is a failure.

I've never heard of or have any idea what the Bunny Ranch is?

Problem is, hardly anyone is actually USING Bitcoin to buy and sell anything but drugs.

Using a currency is not only about buying tangible products, it is about buying services too.

You see members here hiring for design work, program code, advertising, domain names, voucher codes... These are real business activities and bitcoin is USED as a payment system. The products are usually digital goods because shipping a physical product is expensive.

I forgot to mentioned all the people transacting with it here. People are using it, just not to the level you want. As I said above, this will chnage over time.
272  Other / Off-topic / Re: FIFA World Cup 2014!!! on: July 14, 2014, 06:53:05 AM
Germany deserved to win but the game was so boring. Didn't feel like a World Cup Final at all. Did Argentina even have a shot on target in 90 minutes? Messi didn't deserve the player of the tournament either. I expected more from him.
273  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: the biggest problem with Bitcoin? Nobody uses it ... on: July 14, 2014, 06:45:44 AM
Regarding the op though regardless of whether he is trolling or not, people are obviously using it and this number is growing everyday. We can't expect bitcoin just to become mainstream overnight. A steady growth is far safer and easier for people to get used to. It also gives us more time to aquire more coins in the meantime Cheesy.
274  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-07-11] BBC: Jersey approves first regulated Bitcoin fund on: July 11, 2014, 12:38:32 PM
They really do  Cheesy. It's good to know that they got the go ahead. I remember reading a few articles a while back that mentioned Jersey could become a hub for bitcoin activity due to it's tax heaven situation. I'm sure there will be lots more bitcoin businesses getting involved with Jersey over the year.

yeah, that was only 2-3 weeks ago  Wink

Was it? Seems like longer than that. I think time moves fast in cyrptoworld. Can;t believe half a year has gone by already. I thought bitcoin would be twice the price it is now and have twice the merchants, though I think we're getting their slowly but surely on the merchant front.
275  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Very severe blow to bitcoin on: July 11, 2014, 12:19:50 PM

Andreas Antonop's tweet is the worst news yet that I've heard for bitcoin.

Looks like Andreas is done with the Bitcoin Foundation. Good. Screw the Bitcoin Foundation.

"I can no longer have even the smallest association with the Bitcoin Foundation, because of the complete lack of transparency" https://twitter.com/aantonop/status/486926129409052672

The Bitcoin foundation has gained Pierce and lost Antonopolos.  This isn't going in the right direction at all.

Does it really matter? The Bitcoin Foundation are what exactly? An unelected body that nobody voted for. Andreas can go on to serve the bitcoin community in better ways now. He doesn't need them and we don't need the Foundation.

277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Brock Pierce's real coin on: July 11, 2014, 11:42:58 AM
I don't understand how this can work? I like the idea of a fixed price coin, but I'm not sure you can stop people from paying what they want for it so I don't think the price will be fixed at all. Interesting to see how it plays out though.
278  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have officially made it into the 100 Bitcoin club on: July 10, 2014, 01:46:25 PM
Your final balance doesn't look too grand though lol. And you could've just sent 1 bitcoin backwards and forwards to get that amount transacted  Cheesy.
279  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-7-10] Andreas Antonopoulos Leaves Bitcoin Foundation on: July 10, 2014, 01:44:38 PM
He gets a bit fired up {fanatical} in some of his videos, but it only shows his passion for what he is doing.

I must say, I enjoy all his stuff, and the detailed information he gives.

He also gives detailed answers to the Q&A part, which shows his knowledge on the subject matter.

I think Andreas is probably genuinely passionate and was in bitcoin (and the foundation) with good intentions, but I reckon he figured out the rest of the members there wern't really like him and only care about one thing: profit. Maybe this can free his time up to do more things now. I think he's a good figurehead for bitcoin but he doesnt need to be in the foundation for that.
280  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-07-09] Supporter Of Extremist Group ISIS Explains How Bitcoin Could Be Use on: July 10, 2014, 01:42:25 PM
We all knew this would happen eventually, I'm waiting for this to be spammed all over the news networks now and for political pundits everywhere calling for it to be banned. What I find ironic about all this is these are 'religious extremists' who are using a technology developed by mathematics which is something that almost openly defies their god at every turn, yet they're totally okay with using it if it helps them fund their activities, what a bunch of hypocrites.

A less extreme example are Christians who rant about the evils of technology yet you see them using an iphone or and ipad to post up their bullshit everywhere or are using an internet connection, which guess what, was developed by SCIENCE! >_<

This will get picked up by the media no doubt. Not sure how Mathematics defies their god though, unless you mean science in general defies god or religions. I don't really think extremist Muslims complain about technology that much either and I'm sure most will use whatever they have at their disposal to further their cause. After all Muslims tend to like firing their ak47s in the air quite often  Cheesy. Maybe a handful of the extreme of extremist leaders might preach against technology being evil or whatnot, but we all know they're hypocrites anyway. Do you really think they follow their religion strictly 100%?
