I might go meatless in the future.
Making the commitment is difficult and I'm not ready.

Who likes PETA?
People
Eating
Tasty
Animals
......sorry.

PETA are such hypocrites.

Yeah they put down a lot of healthy animals when they take them in. Apparently its ok to kill them as long as you dont eat them.

466  Other / Off-topic / Re: How can anyone claim that their religion is moral? on: April 23, 2014, 06:06:44 PM
My idea of morality is very simple at it's core and doesn't require religion. It basically consists of:

-Don't steal
-Don't rape
-Don't intentionally injure or kill a person unless necessary to defend yourself or other people they intend to harm
-Don't torture or kill living creatures needlessly

You don't need a special book or a god or a person claiming to be your direct link to God in order to follow these.

What about cheating?

If it weren't for plants you also wouldn't be here typing right now, this is a fact. You don't need to consume meat, all those nutrients you are talking about such as proteins, calcium, enzymes, vitamins such as B12, can all be found in meat substitutes

And ? I don't understand the whole point of you argument here, if it wasn't for meat you wouldn't be typing here this is a fact, meat kicked human evolution ( a scientific fact) and meat cannot be be easily substituted not by any mean.

Thought you were a christian or are you one that believes in evolution? Is it true that we wouldt have evolved without eating meat? Couldnt we have got the protein from elsewhere?

We couldn't, we are talking about natural occurrence here, also there is evolution and evolution ^^ getting

What do you mean by the last part?  Huh

The part of evolution that meats contributed two is making us more intelligent more efficient ect, we aren't talking about human Darwinism here, (which was not proven to this day or age btw...) ^^

God hasnt been proven either lol. Why do you believe in one evolution but not the other?

Why dont you check the tv reccomendation thread?
470  Other / Off-topic / Re: TV Series Recommendations... on: April 23, 2014, 11:56:08 AM
Lost and games of thrones is great.

I think you're the first person I've seen that said Lost was great. Even fanboys were annoyed with the shitty ending.

the deep blue sea - like!

Which one? The one with Rachel Weisz or LL Cool J? lol

I'm guessing the latter. I haven't seen either but the one with LL Cool J got panned and looks pretty cheesy.
473  Other / Off-topic / Re: Movie Recommendation Station on: April 23, 2014, 10:15:48 AM

Angels and Demons and Da Vince Code were two other good Tom Hanks movies.

Agree! I also like his classic films: Sleepless in Seattle, You've Got Mail, Apollo 13. Heard Saving Private Ryan is good, too, but haven't watched that.

I've not seen any of these films apart from Apollo 13. Angels and Demons was much better than the shitty Da Vinci code.

Really enjoyed Captain Phillips. I thought Tom Hank's was great in it. Gonna watch Cloud Atlas tomorrow and see how he is in that.

I find it hard to comment on The X- Files because it simply transcends words. It's an intelligent masterpiece, an epos of beautifully complicated scenarios, plots and characters. Eruditely taking on the grayest of areas, confronting those things under your bed and inside your closet thus bringing new meaning to the fears brought on by conventions and the imprudent obstinacy of social norms. The script, the actors and the direction make the most unbelievable seem believable and the unfathomable- unfathomably real. So thought provoking that if you really let yourself dwell in its essence, it can change the way you see the world, if only just by believing in the conviction that The Truth Is Out There.

lol fanboy detected. What episodes do you reccomend? I'll give it a go.
I would assume you'd have to watch "all of them" to become as big a fanboy as that poster above is. Cheesy

All of them several times probably. It's been years since I've seen an episode.

I didn't read partial your reply I decided to reply on that part because it's the only part that sounded like an argument in your comment

Have a good read.

What's that list of? Karl Sagan & Hawkings aren't religious or am I confused here?

Here we go again, didn't you see the huge striketrough on Hawkings, how about the other dozen of profilant scientist mentioned there ?

Yeah I saw it but why is he still there? What about Sagan? And some of the others are religious but I don't know about all of them.

You quoted me pretty quickly ^^, check out my reply I think, you can check them out, they all are religious with a clear stance, except, Sagan who doesn't follow a religion per say, but he doesn't denies God and he clearly said I quote :"Atheism is stupid" As for Einstein he is a Jew who believes in Spinoza God... there points were discussed in that topic.

I don't know what spinozas god is but sagan is defiantly not relgious at all. Have you seen Cosmos series?
