The crypto space as it is does not have room for all these "moon lambo" types, if you're coming into crypto thinking you will be a millionaire overnight I can assure you, you will most likely lose your money and be burned by crypto. I suggest researching more into what you are getting yourself into, if you're too lazy then just wait until crypto is 100% mainstream and used as currency. You obviously don't even know the slightest about Nano, even though there's more information about DAG blockchains and just Bitcoin info in general out there. How is NANO this important?
Its already capped and distributed all its coins, this is good but no incentive to go and hunt those shiny extra coins.
Its not mineable, so noone spending electricity to validate.
No "common" POS (like Dash or other coins).
Dont get me wrong, I am trying to understand, I am generally speaking still new to cryptos, just I am failing to see the super uber new thing that NANO brings into the table.
I just see it as a big hairy place to store value, but it's growth only happens through trading, can someone explain please?

Just got this running so very open to suggestions or critique. Thank you both for the replies  perceptivetek: I like the simple design, straight to the point. The forms listing the nano rep's addresses are editable, maybe make them so it cannot be edited by accident. I will look into adding more reps (and playing with them  ) this weekend and asking you to list them. |

Devs: Wallet for 2.4 has errors while building under Ubuntu. Could you upload a built QT to the git?
It's hard chasing down every dependency needed, it would help a lot of us if you just post the QT.

Well won't future gains of mass adoption of XRB essentially pay for running a node for those getting early on? I mean, it already paid itself forward many times over for a lot of people. |

Some of us are willing to run 24/7 nodes just so everyone else can enjoy this tech.
Don't underestimate the power of the few willing to do something out of pure altruism for the better of everyone else.
It's not like running nodes will cost thousands a week, if everyone chips in a little we are seeing cents a day for running a node.
I just wish the node running was easier, like a list that tells you which nodes are active or not active. Anyone know of such lists?

Now there are a lot of analytical articles about the fact that NEM will become a real competitor for ETH. I think that makes sense. In a few years NEM will become a very strong platform if the project will also develop rapidly and sign contracts with well-known companies.
As one who's actually attempted to *use* the ETH platform, I can tell you NEM is much easier. It won't be long before others catch on. ETH seems to have better name recognition at this point, but NEM is starting to catch up on that too. I hope so because I'm much more invested in NEM than in ETH, altough I don't think NEM is more easy to use than ETH. A big problem with NEM is the adoption of Mosaics on the exchanges, Dimcoin has still huge problems to get listed because of technical reasons. ETH is not too user friendly, from the beginning it felt like I needed to know JavaScript to even send ETH. |

I’m not sure NEM is that kind of a system. I understood it as a corporate solution and that’s what it seems like it aspires to be (in contrast to a privacy coin for example, which might be more agnostic to its users). So I wish NEM had stepped in and disallows this. Surely there has to be governance over what is essentially fraud? Would NEM allow known scamcoins to ICO?
I need to have a think, but this materially changes my interest in staying in NEM.

Their transactions can't be stopped either. It's not like IBM selling them a database solution. Yes I'm curious about that too. I don't recall that older wallets throwing up false flags... The older wallets should work the same as they always did, it's just the newer ones are supposed to be faster though I haven't heard any testimonals to confirm that yet. It's a false positive, I use Avast and it did the same. As long as it's from the official Nano Github, it should be ok. The dev didn't sign the new wallet properly so the anti-virus will give a false positive. |
