Good morning,
Anyone knows if NEM ever had ICO / Crowdsale?
If so, how much money have they raised in USD?
Also, can anyone advise where can I check official stats for number of XEM in circulation and Total Supply? (not just CMC stats, they are often incorrect!).
Thanks, Pete

I think the ramifications of NEM somehow stepping in and telling Maduro et al, "No, you may not use our block chain!" would be pretty sweeping, and probably more of a detriment to whatever good in the world cryptocurrencies can accomplish than the "good" of prohibiting a "bad person" from doing something crazy with a cryptocoin. Just imagine that NEM got taken over by bad people (Maybe Maduro himself launches a coup and takes over the NEM foundation or something), and decided that no "good" organizations could ever build anything on NEM. Then what?
I think it's honestly better to keep it open sourced and decentralized, and see who uses the technology. I've heard of at least 7 or 8 tokens launching on the NEM block chain, so it won't be long before Petro becomes just one of many others.
Apparently Bankera is under investigation by the Lithuanian central bank. Bankera is soon to be a NEM token. Does that make them bad too?
please re read that article you saw this in. its an investigation from a fucking bank. A BANK. THATS NOT NEWS. THATS ANOTHER JP MORGAN CRYING BECUASE THEY ARE MAKING MORE MONEY THAN THIS THE BANK. Bankera is backed by the lithuanain parliament. bankera is not LEAVING. that is 100% certain. if you're a betting man, you've already lost if you sold those tokens.

Now there are a lot of analytical articles about the fact that NEM will become a real competitor for ETH. I think that makes sense. In a few years NEM will become a very strong platform if the project will also develop rapidly and sign contracts with well-known companies.
what competition to eth? there is no competition anymore. nem will slowly take over ETH as the PREMIER BLOCKCHAIN. HOW MANY FORKS OCCURED ON ETH, AND HOW MANY TIMES HAS ETH BLOCKCHAIN BEEN HACKED? any fool would have made up his mind by now. doesn't take a rocket scientist to give you the right answer. hope this helps

I hope you're right in the sense that the central bank would have no legal authority to do anything about the results of its investigation. I'm not sure how much weight such an investigation would carry in Lithuania. Hopefully zero.

As one who's actually attempted to *use* the ETH platform, I can tell you NEM is much easier. It won't be long before others catch on. ETH seems to have better name recognition at this point, but NEM is starting to catch up on that too. I hope so because I'm much more invested in NEM than in ETH, altough I don't think NEM is more easy to use than ETH. A big problem with NEM is the adoption of Mosaics on the exchanges, Dimcoin has still huge problems to get listed because of technical reasons.

No crowdsale as such. The first few hundred in got their stake (2.25 million nem)for free. After that the price increased but it was only a few dollars max price. So virtually no money raised in USD. CMC is accurate for NEM

How many app/tokes are available for eth blockchain? And how many for nem blockchain? I really hope that it's just a metter a time!

By the way ... any news of Ledger Nano S support?

Hi,
I just wanted to report a bug in Nano Wallet. At least I think it's a bug but I'm not sure. It appeared with version 2.0.10 and is still present with the new 2.1.2. With version 1.4.13 and before I haven't observed this behaviour. So almost every time I log in to Nano Wallet there's another node shown under delegated harvesting and the harvesting shows inactive. When I change the node again harvesting status switches to active. I don't even have to enter my passphrase. It's interesting that it's always another node and it's always a node I haven't harvested on before. This happens also to the node I'm connected to, not only to the one I'm harvesting on. And it also doesn't matter if I have deleted my browser storage or not. I don't know if the bitcointalk thread is the right forum to post this on but I only have an account here.

I had idea of project/service based on NEM, but because nobody from NEM's team didn't reply to me, I decided to post it here. If that's not interesting for NEM, in future I'll think about developing this project with my costs
XEM BM - XEM BOUNTY MANAGEMENT
Goals: 1) To increase the everyday usage of NEM in cryptocurrency communities and beyond 2) To introduce new people, mostly active social media users and influencers to the cryptocurrency world. Firstly they will be introduced to NEM 3) To make bounty management process easier and more efficient 4) To make it easier for people to earn with their creative work, social media activities.
Idea of Project:
Getting involved in cryptocurrency blockchain world is very interesting and easy. Bounty campaign give good opportunity for people all around the world to follow, interact with the projects they like and earn some tokens (cryptocurrencies) for their contribution. However still there is no ideal way to handle bounty campaign. Moreover when there are so many ICOs going on it's easy to get lost. There is necessity for a New Bounty service, which can later be extended to the biggest marketplace of creative labor, social media, advertising, etc.
XEM.BM Project's Idea: To make 1-stop place for the ICOs and New Crypto-related Projects which need additional voice, additional advertisement, and 1-stop place for crypto-community (bounty hunters, and different people who have some extra time for social media engagement) The Platform XEM.BM should include the list of major social media and blogging platforms, possibility to submit articles for reviews and other creative bounties, signature campaigns management tool, translation bounty and many other useful tools and options.
Competition: Similar sites exist, for example theviralexchange.com which I took as example while speaking with developers. But it is not popular now, it lacks promotion, it gives very small payment and has only 3 social media (Facebook, Twitter, Youtube)
Therefore I think it is right time to start this service.
NEM Economy inside XEM.BM The users will earn XEM by performing social media and other tasks. The advertisers will deposit XEM and can setup prices for each task. The system will take 1% fee from the deposit from the advertisers' side. If the advertisers are ICO managers, they can have option to pay with their tokens. Special appeal will be for ICO projects to move into NEM, then the fees can be lifted and they will be able to get Premium service (when the Premium option might be developed)
Development assumption: NEM's development bounty is up to $10,000 This is the amount which I would request for this project. The initial development cost might be lower than $5000, but it's better to have bigger budget to be available to add more features and the remaining part will be spent for project marketing. Also this project can fit into "Go To Market Bounty", and if it wins into this category, this amount I will reinvest into further development, marketing.
I think this project will both promote NEM and will create the best marketplace for ICOs, bounty managers and crypto-enthusiasts, with appeal to new people to join blockchain world!
