661  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: March 08, 2017, 05:23:53 PM
I am stuck on block ( NIS is synchronizing. At block 998273 ) , what to do ?

Before logging in, go to settings and use an alternate node: https://www.nodeexplorer.com/

This will show you the latest block without having to download the whole blockchain, in the background the blockchain will be syncing.
662  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NEWBIUM.COM - Learn coin markets instantly. on: March 07, 2017, 05:43:07 PM
Today I was looking around for data analyses tools and I remembered Newbium.

I decided to go on Newbium.com and see what data I could gather, only thing is the data analysis tools are not quite there.

It'd nice if when I click on a particular coin it would pull up data from several exchanges, blogs, news, etc. and display them all at once in their own seperate sections.

Also, a tool that averages out the values between different sources would be nice, and a rough predictability tool based on probabilities would also be a plus.

Just pointing these things out, because today I actually thought about using a type of market analyses tool and newbium would have fit right into what someone looking for these would need.

Also, what is going on with Nxtty?
663  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: March 03, 2017, 01:25:56 PM
Is it too late to buy in now?

It is just beginning! Smiley
Buying Now!
Later $0.1 and then $1 XEM....... Grin Grin Grin

$1 for 1 XEM?
well, that's impossible, unless BTC will rise 10x from current price

XEM would need to have 9 Billion$ market cap for that

Not necessarily, supply vs. demand
664  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [FACTS] Dash has the whole scene scared ! on: March 01, 2017, 11:46:07 PM
Look over the NEM advancements and how they are working with several tech bureaus and even a municipal community in Belgium is trying to experiment with the blockchain Mijin/NEM.

Let's not be salty now because we see a lot of people gaining from these unprecedented rises in the alt world.

By your logic, Bitcoin has not made it yet which means... see what I did there.

I will be composing a technical analysis on NEM's PoI shortly and you are not going to be happy.

Those "accomplishments" for NEM are just more fluff and no actual adoption.

Bitcoin adoption is still tiny.

Here's your quote from the thread you created:

I had also written else where:

The reputation/rank aspect is just proof-of-stake in transactions. It has the same properties of proof-of-stake wherein your stake determines how much rank you realistically have (and not just lose it all to transaction fees).

Also since it requires the transaction graph, then it is incompatible with privacy and anonymity.

I don't understand why everyone is so excited about NEM. It is just a rehash of PoS. Where is the innovation?

So in conclusion it seems like you have no idea why NEM is so popular and have tried to criticize it with unfounded assumptions.

Nothing wrong with criticism, I'm glad someone that is in the know with NEM replied to you and proved your assumption false. It's good that this happens just so these projects don't go unquestioned.
665  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [FACTS] Dash has the whole scene scared ! on: March 01, 2017, 09:35:43 PM
It could very well be a pretender.

Aren't they all at this point? (all the crypto-coins)

We're just at beginning folks.

We are at the Pong and PacMan stage.

Not all, NEM so far has surpassed expectations and seems everyone so far agrees looks like the most legit project in the alt scene.

DASH, well good for those who got in early. We've all seen these patterns before, heavy manipulation because for sure DASH does not have any uses that I have witnessed.

I think you missed his point. You have to fake it 'til you make it, and no one's made it yet. Which means...

holy s***, this is not normal for a crypto to spike like this.

Either way, congrats to those who bought in low and are now being rewarded.

I had the opportunity to mine it when it was launched and even bought some at extremely low, oh well I put it aside and ignored it.
Nothing lost, but many of you have gained a lot  Cool

Small request for a quick summary of PIVx for those who are just discovering it by someone who can verify it as correct information.

No speculation, just the status of the project. The speculation part is being handled by the market and it has been green for a while now

Thought about it, erased my original reply.

670  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Thread - Beta is almost here[Updates & Discussion] on: February 27, 2017, 07:56:18 AM
Initial investors invested only 0~50 USD each.
So small amount caused some investors to forget/neglect their stake and responsibility,  and at last lose it.
As a result, they took away an opportunity of other peoples who wanted to join NEM project but came later.
Right should be accompanied with responsibility.
Had better think they lost not 2,250,000 XEM but only 0~50 USD, and forget all for mental health.
And buy XEM now for material wealth.
Do not miss your second chance.

P.S.)Instead of the expression "initial investor", "initial joiner" would be proper, I think.
well said... this is exactly how it is.

I second this motion, well said

Neckbeard alert.

Won't bother anymore, everyone has been warned about your "high intellect". You actually do more neckbeard talk than anything.

Have fun scamming people, maybe one day you'll step out of your neckbeard shell.

Another weak troll. This is the main problem with all trolls here: they come and go and I have to find new ones to use as jokers. Luckily doing things right is enough to lure new trolls.

You can't erase posts here, you're the weak one here.

Idiot, where is Asian big deal? Where is exchange news release in last year? Only fake news to dump your worthless IOTA to newbies, you greedy bastard.

Cry, baby, cry. The purpose of your life is to entertain me while I'm having a break between work tasks, you are doing it pretty good.

Neckbeard alert.

674  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA - Unmoderated thread on: February 25, 2017, 07:33:02 AM

it's actually a quotation of a scientific journal, but as I can see, you lack the competence to understand it.
is my assumption correct, that you didnt read for yourself but just guessed that this is a scam, because you simply dont understand it? really?

I understand it perfectly, it's jargon.

Don't assume anything, some of us have multiple disciplines in different science fields.

Just because you post from an abstract does not make it correct. Show me where the paper was challenged and the theory proven correct many times by different institutions. You won't be able to find any verifiable evidence because we don't even have such system to test such incomplete hypothesis.

Anyone with any knowledge on quantum computing can tell you we are very far from achieving it, the only way we have been able to observe this super position of quantum states has been when the quantum computing system was in sub-zero temperatures. And only then for very short periods of time.

If you can't explain it simply, then you obviously are just pulling jargon and abstracts you find with google out of your a**.

The alt-world is full of scams and hyped up promises, IOTA seemed ok until its emperor decided to act like a know it all and dismiss other's criticism.
Get off your sock puppet account and post from your real account CfB.
675  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA - Unmoderated thread on: February 24, 2017, 10:33:20 PM
Be wary of IOTA, they don't like constructive criticism. Red flags are raised:

They dont take kindly on even asking how Iota is supposed to work.

However, they do spread bullshit about Byteball on here, and in their slack forum, they are originater of "Byteball is a blockchain and DAG hybrid" lie.

Iota action smell bad, like something is rotten.

The whole "we'll beat quantum computing" even is a bunch of bs. How can they beat something that can compute several states at the same time almost instantaneously with regular tech that still computes things one at a time? Sounds like they are spreading a bunch of hype to uninformed individuals.

I'm sure someone in their team is working under Ubuntu and somehow convinced their boss about this new fancy shmancy state of the art technology and the many moneys they will make.

The guy I bought some IOTA from said he was selling all of their coins because of internal conflicts with Come-from-Beyond and hinted that the initial investors have a hard time dealing with someone who doesn't want to discuss how the project even works. To the point that they were not allowed to question iota.

Like you said, smells of another BTC scam. What's new in the alt-world, same thing over and over again.

you guys don't wanna get a better image of IOTA. you just stick to your opinion. This looks to me like a conditioned opinion because this isn't about IOTA. this is about byteball or whatever you invested in instead.
everyone INCLUDING dom and david tried their best and talked to you guys to clear uncertain questions but you still come here to trigger everyone.
and I'm asking myself why.
is this just bottom-feeding or is this an honest scientific opinion based on facts?
because all I can see is an ever repeating trump-argumentation with phrases and neural diarrhea.
for the facts I'm willing to start an AmA. You may ask anything and I don't even give a shit about ad hominem. you insult, you ask, I answer anyway.
the first question I saw is "Is quantum-proof bullshit!?"
no.
Winternitz one time signature scheme enables the quantum resistance. here: this for example doesn't say quantum proof or immune, but resistance. and furthermore, that "Current research suggests, that the
security of hash-based signatures will not be significantly harmed by quantum computer supported
attacks [12]." Side 1, bottom. https://eprint.iacr.org/2011/191.pdf
It is about "pseudo randomization" and "key one-wayness" explained on side 4.
Source: "We begin by reviewing the standard definition of digital signature schemes and the security notion
existential unforgeability under adaptive chosen message attacks (EU-CMA) [11]. We then define
two security notions for function families required for our reduction. The first is the well known
pseudo-randomness property. The second is key one-wayness which states that it is hard to find
a key k such that the function fk maps a given input x to a given output y. We also state two
lemmas about these notions which will be useful for the reduction of W-OTS.
"
This is proven.
If you come up with further bullshit, Ill proof you wrong. gogo.
next question!

This sounds like a bunch of jargon trying to sway away from the real discussion.
 Roll Eyes

Problem is you have underestimated users on BTCtalk and dismissed them as uneducated investors. Realize you are talking to individuals who are educated on the matter and have a descent understanding of how some of the tech works, stop trying to misdirect the original topic.

@DunningKruger, I had to remove your post because you quoted LemonAndFriesOne who was banned from this thread for trolling.

Not trolling, you just can't take criticism like a man.

Same thing here, but for Unix based systems  Roll Eyes

Don't get too exited yet, IOTA is the first. Eventually there will be 100+ projects they are considering.

Most likely will end up with their own project after they rip-off research these coins.

1 March price is $0.2 - $0.3  Tongue

I'll bet one BTC that won't happen, because if it did, I'll glady pay it!

I like this coin, but what I've been seeing lately is too much manipulation by bots and very small buy orders that jump around a bit too much.

I would like to see a stable price increase, not this jump from 0.02 to 0.03 and back down again with very little BTC needed.

Hoping this coin survives the P&D's that have noticed it but then I could be wrong also.

So what are you playing at here? That Savage and DeJerk are in fact not real and in reality some indian kids are running a scam scheme here?

Just a pattern I have noticed with coins that promise a lot and never deliver.

All the devs from those coins sign "Best regards", even the coins that are trying to be revived. The new devs of those coins sign "Best regards".

I don't know about Indian, but it sure does sound like Bollywood is behind many of these coins.
