81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dead Coins: Over 50% of Cryptocurrencies Have Failed on: May 06, 2024, 11:42:29 PM

https://www.coingecko.com/research/publications/how-many-cryptocurrencies-failed
"How Many Crypto Coins Have Died?
Over 50% of all cryptocurrencies have died. Of the over 24,000 cryptocurrencies listed on CoinGecko since 2014, 14,039 have died.
----
Most dead cryptocurrencies came from projects launched during the 2020 - 2021 bull run. 7,530 cryptocurrencies from that period have died, accounting for 53.6% of all dead cryptocurrencies on CoinGecko. Over 11,000 cryptocurrencies were listed on CoinGecko during the previous bull run, with ~70% having shut down since."

___
Officially, only 50% are scam and unsuccessful projects

There is still a lot of development regarding crypto, many beginners enter without learning the basics of crypto and cryptocurrencies which makes them useless. This shows the various reasons they fall and starting again is very difficult, even though they are interested in crypto projects and investing in them, it is surprising that there are so many bad projects on the market. This probability of getting in difficult to attract these people from 50% percent may be more than that estimate.

That is only the number reported and it was just from CoinGecko but we suspect more unreported failed projects and more are coming. The data is quite bothering as this will affect the reputation of the entire crypto market and people will be in doubt and think that even Bitcoin and Ethereum as scams. We never know that 10 years from now, only 1% left legit and can be trusted.

Developers will have to stop creating projects as we don't need a lot of cryptocurrencies because what we need is a project that is usable and sustainable. Unfortunately, what we got is a bunch of shitcoins and scams which gives a reason for slow adaption and trust.
82  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Invest To Learning First on: May 06, 2024, 11:23:12 AM
[...]
But in my opinion , if someone is really passionate about investing , they can learn for themselves because everything is free on the internet , no need to go to an expert . What matters is whether we are really serious or we are just greedy and want to get rich quickly .
have you ever booked a course with a trading expert in the past, for example? the courses are definitely justified, as the information is conveyed much better and in a much shorter time than if you have to teach yourself everything via youtube and co. so especially for people who want to get into the subject relatively quickly, such courses are very suitable, but of course they also cost (sometimes even a lot of) money.

I have never signed up for any courses from experts because I believe that this market has no experts, only cycles and investor psychology. Also, I have the thought that if someone claims to be a trading expert, it means they easily make profits from trading, from their investments. So why do they waste their time teaching others and earning pennies? That's why I don't believe there are experts in the market.

But I also partly agree with you, if someone doesn't have much time, they can use money to buy knowledge because it will help you shorten your learning time.
They can be experts on their own and many traders proclaim themselves as one of the best traders yet, we can't prove it right. I believe there are some really good where we can gain knowledge from them but when it comes to teaching, it is somewhat different. Still, I believe that there are no shortcuts to learning trading. If we are a rich person, spending money is not difficult but I don't think this will make someone become a good trader or forever we rely on others.

If we don't have enough time for trading, we rather choose not to trade because this won't work. Better consider ourselves as an investor than forcing ourselves to become a trader as the time don't permits us.
83  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you care about what people say about you gambling? on: May 04, 2024, 02:52:52 PM
One thing to say with those people that are trying to distract us while we do our own thing, mind their own business.

I don't care a thing they say, am I gambling with their money? am I using their time? No, they don't and that's why I don't care about them and whatever they say upon looking at my activities whether on my laptop or smartphone.

We've got our own lives to deal with and it's too short to be thinking of the welfare of other's activities.
Let’s just accept the reality that we can’t please everyone, and that we don’t have the control to what they want to say. Gambling can be a bad thing, but only for those who can’t manage their gambling urge and turn into irresponsible gamblers. However, for those who are good and responsible one, then there’s no way they’ll care whatever people will say.

I used to get affected with how others comprehend about gambling, but I realized this is what makes me entertained and sometimes makes me profitable, so I’m actually benefiting from it. I will continue gambling as long as I want, and as long as I’m using my own spare money. My money, my rules, and since they don’t contribute any goodness in my life, then they’re free to leave me on my own way and mind their own business.
Pro-gambling will definitely understand the feeling of being a gambler and how gambling affects their life. But for those against it, no way to expect them to say good but purely negative words. That is why I don't buy this kind of issue if I hear someone talking about it because the more we argue with and explain our side, they won't listen. In fact, it is not their money, and whatever happens to us, we never ask for help from them.

Besides, it is our choice to gamble. As long as we enjoy what we are doing (gambling), we must not care what they think about us. That is their problem, not ours.
84  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for May on: May 04, 2024, 02:02:06 PM
The bullish momentum continues despite the unexpected huge drop the day after the halving event. The chart tells us that the majority remain optimistic and decide to stay holding rather than get tempted by the price.

What I expect this month is more on the recovery after the short drop but I don't think it able to reach far $70k. While we were surprised about the drop, some also took this as an opportunity to buy which is why the price stopped falling instead, we see it rising again now.

This month may not be the bullish month of the year but I believe, it is all gonna be positive.
85  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price is going to touch all time highs on: May 04, 2024, 01:16:54 PM
Bitcoin price has already touched 69000 thousand dollars, which is the highest price of 2021. So how reasonable do you think it is that the price of bitcoin will touch 70k dollar again if it takes another step forward?

Bitcoin price hit an all-time high of $73.6k, although it held up for a while but made a big improvement just before the halving. The longer Bitcoin rolls through its four-year cycle, the more Bitcoin prices will continue to improve. From the present time you will notice that there have been a total of four halvings in the past, after these halvings Bitcoin price started pumping to the maximum. Maybe 100 plus days after the halving takes place Bitcoin's bull run begins.

Too hard to speculate in a volatile market but we ain't to be right because we are certainly be wrong no matter what we do. Until the bull season is not over yet, we can't say that the price of Bitcoin has reached its new ATH. In the past few days, the market has been in huge price corrections making people speculate for another bear moment. But history tells us something and I can still believe that what happened in the previous halvings can possibly happen again this time. The last ATH happens after halving which means that despite the current fallback of prices, we can't lose our hope to see the price of Bitcoin above $73k. It is still possible to reach $100k someday, we never know about it.
86  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is Satoshi app legit or scam? on: May 04, 2024, 08:26:17 AM
Has anyone come encounter this Satoshi app that offers Free airdrop to users? A friend of my introduce me to this platform for some months now, so I will like to know if the satoshi app is legit or a scam?
Be careful about those apps that talk about cryptocurrency or Bitcoin, especially Google apps because most of them are fake. Yes, it is very usual for these scammers to offer free coins because this is made to gain attraction to the searchers and this kind of (dirty) tactic is rampant due to the popularity of Bitcoin. Though I haven't tried to visit and read reviews but I feel something wrong with this.

Well, you can try to verify how legit it is but don't ever try to spend money about this.
Many apps mention airdrops and I tried it before. I can see flowing airdrops and it appear on the dashboard but I can't withdraw it. This is problem the same situation.
87  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don't make your bets when you're tired on: May 04, 2024, 06:39:53 AM
I can relate with what op wrote but not about gambling, situations when you’re feeling tired but you refuse to rest and decide to do something else you’ll definitely make a mistake cause at that time the brain need rest but why depriving your brain from resting, you’ll definitely not focus with such activity and what’s so surprising about this is the moment you make an expensive mistake during the process you’ll not feel like sleeping but rather you just feel sad. Mate, this is wrong cause you don’t joke with your resting time otherwise you’ll regret also op used gambling as an example but generally everything should be set aside first when tired cause you can actually carry out same activity next time
Yes, it is hard to make good decisions when you are tired and don't have focus. People force themselves to gamble despite the situation, it will never go well and it is 100% wrong. Our body and mind can't work 24 hours so we need to relax when needed, perhaps it is necessary because having good mental health creates better results and our mind works so well.

our health is very important so keeping it healthy is our priority. Besides, gambling can wait anytime until we are ready and fully recovered.
88  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Accumulating Bitcoin or trading Bitcoin which is more wise to do. on: May 03, 2024, 09:50:29 PM
Trading is profitable during bull season and there is no harm in trying as we can't tell ourselves if we are good at this if we never do it.
of course, holding is less risky and also profitable but if you don't have patience, this will never work.

Generally, we can just tell which one suits us after having a try on both of them. For me, I would say trading is a good choice during this time but after this bull season, I will become a holder again. We choose the option where we think we can do well, not because we see people doing this. That is why we should try and let us see the result before deciding as this also depends on our behavior, knowledge, skills, and interest.
89  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: May 03, 2024, 03:52:04 PM
Miami +10.5 loss.. Last game was a blowout win by the Celtics, just like in game 1, I like to see the Miami Heat making adjustment in game 4. I'm hoping it will be a close game so the Heat loss, they can cover with their high handicap.

Nuggets -7.5 loss
This is a no brainer, a close out game for the Nuggets, they should give everything here as they can't afford to take this series back to LA where the pressure could be higher.

Pelicans +4.5 loss
For the last time, I like to see them having a competitive game like they did in game 1.

Updated record 8(W)-13(L)..... 38%

Same result a day before, still 0-3.

Let's break that losing streak.

Magic -4, I'm following the same pattern, both teams are good at their home court, so the Magic should be able to tie the series and cover the spread.

Dallas -8 .  last game they beat the Clippers by 30 points, I'm seeing the same scenario, Dallas will be starting strong as they need to finish the series here.

I have the Magic at -3.5 at their home court, and they are a good home team, so it's a good chance that they will tie the series.

Will likely just watch the Dallas vs Clippers game.

Same with you mate. One of the Cavaliers best players Allen is probably not gonna play, so the Magic should win here.
Judging on the last 2 games on the same venue, Magic manage to beat the cavaliers via double digit, they should be able to do it again in a do or die game.

And I do agree that the Sixers and Bucks early exit are unexpected, but what can they do when Giannis and Dame got injured, and so is Joel Embiid. They have a good season, but the injuries though, oh well tough luck for them this season.

I expected the Bucks will exit the moment Giannis was announced he'll not play, but the Sixers, nah, I thought they have a great chance of winning even if Embiid is not 100%, but they loss at their homecourt, and no game 7, but that's alright, aat least they fought, especially Embiid who played despite of the injury.
90  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: May 03, 2024, 02:58:06 PM
But I still think that Denver with their experience will be enough to win the series for them. In crunch time, they will used their IQ and not sure how ANT can be in those crucial minutes of the game and I'm seeing him not able to response if they need to score big, in my opinion.

True that, if the game is tight, it does matter a lot. I've seen some games where OKC beat the Timberwolves, and I don't even see the young OKC would last in the playoffs. Well we know that they swept the Pelicans but that was because Zion was out due to injury, if he was playing the series will not end that fast. And OKC, they need to beat the Dallas first provided Dallas will finish the Clippers tomorrow, so I'm seeing that Jokic and his friend Luka will meet in the WCF.

Playoffs is very different on regular season matches. OKC has the ability to beat any team on NBA once but it’s different scenario when it’s on Playoffs since you will face it consecutively while team like Wolve can easily do an adjustment since they have a very solid line-up.

Maybe they manage to beat Wolves with incomplete line-up or Wolves has worst shooting accuracy while OKC have a solid accuracy for that game. This is some temporary factor that you can’t weigh in heavily on a playoffs match.

We don't need to talk about the wolves and OKC match up as that will only happen if both teams will advance the next round.

Wolves needs to beat the defending champion while the OKC needs to beat the Mavs in a series. Sorry, I'm already counting the clippers out tomorrow because the spread is too high and its indication is very obvious that the Mavs are gonna win by blowout again.

These 2nd round match up in the West are very exciting, both match ups are like 50/50 for me.
91  Other / Off-topic / Re: You can not win if you do not risk on: May 03, 2024, 01:25:16 PM
Whenever you walk into the casino, what you're going their is to risk your money, so at some point every gamblers are risk takers, but risk being an important aspect of gambling doesn't mean one should be a reckless risk taker.
As a gambler you must acknowledge the level of risk you should take and stay within that lane, people mostly misunderstand risk and gambling, they believe risking is all about going all in or putting more money than you can ordinarily afford to lose with high hopes of winning.

This choice has led so many gamblers into jeopardy and gamblers should always be careful and always weigh their risk tolerance.
Everything we do when it regards to money, always carries some risk. But as we gamble, we are already aware of the possible results we face whether to lose or win. It is not just we acknowledge the risk but also, that we put in mind that whatever happens, we are willing to accept it without any regrets.
Understanding how gambling works, the more possible it helps us become a responsible gambler as well. Since we don't have winning assurance from gambling, we must also learn how to behave calmly in times we lose.
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you taking advantage of this red market? on: May 02, 2024, 02:05:27 PM

Well people might want to know that you guys think this is a perfect opportunity now to load up on BTC and ETH? I think people should take this as the perfect time to buy the dip while the dip exists now.
Can't say this is the perfect time as it is nowhere to be found but instead, consider this a chance as this is not the usual happening in the market after halving. Although it was hard to assume what would happen next but I was too positive that it would skyrocket. So take this offer and leave no doubts about the future instead, keep optimistic and I know, this decision will never be regretful.

Buying at $58k and waiting for the new ATH, just to assume that it will reach $80k, it is a huge profit indeed. And this is not impossible in the sense that we are still in the bullish state.
93  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia on April 20 on: May 02, 2024, 01:24:45 PM
I read a post in facebook about Ryan saying that he doesn't want a rematch with Haney, as he think it would be dumb to give him a rematch when he convincingly beat Haney. So for sur Ryan is looking for another  big fight and will just forget about Haney, maybe a fight will only happen if there's a belt on the line, but without it, it will only be a waste of time for Ryan who is enjoying his superstar status now.
94  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: May 02, 2024, 12:26:58 PM
If you look at the Clippers, it was only Zubac against the bigs of the Mavericks, that will not work all the time as Zubac will eventually get tired and that's what happen in game 5.

Yeah, he had a great game but was only limited with 15 points. 7-8 shooting, that's impressive, but he could have shoot more with that percentage of shooting. I should be Harden and PG that should be leading the team, either one of them will play bad, things aren't going to be better for the team and in game 6, it's a do or die game for them, so they can't afford to loss. I don't know if they can but I believe Dallas will not allow this series to go back to LA and they'll be in disadvantage.
95  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lies told to cover up gambling habit on: May 02, 2024, 11:30:12 AM
There were a time when I lied about the amount that I lost in gambling, so that it wouldn't be such a big deal or cause a drama.
I also used to lie that it was just a normal match or game even though the match/game has money involve.
That was all the lies that I used back then that I could remember.
You are able to save your ass now but it was not a good excuse and thing to do especially if you are a family man. We better be transparent with our partner as this already involves money. It is worse when your partner knows it from others, so please don't do it again. I'd rather pretend to be busy but I was gambling already than not tell that I've lost for I'm sure, my partner could able to understand. But in your situation, I couldn't imagine how can take a look straight into her eyes.

Yes, we need to be responsible in all things as much as possible. Our partners could understand us (gamblers) if we don't hide it but of course, must also listen to our partners as well.
96  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it advisable for a beginner to invest in a newly launch project? on: May 01, 2024, 10:30:42 PM
It is not recommended for newbies because they don't have experience yet and we don't want them to fall into scam projects. We wanted them to enjoy their first try and stay in crypto by investing in potential coins like BTC and ETH. At least, they can't say that it was a scam unlike many of the altcoins and new projects. It is just for them to know more before taking risks in new projects. Because in the first place, investing in new projects gives us no assurance, unlike old coins that I've mentioned above.

It is not advisable for them but it does not mean we should have to ignore new projects at all.
97  Economy / Speculation / Re: Now is the best time to buy the dip and HODL on: May 01, 2024, 09:51:25 PM
I'm not expecting that the price of Bitcoin will drop like this after halving but the current situation reminds us that the market is really unpredictable. But I have no complaint about it, let us just think that it gives a chance for those who have not bought yet will have it now. And this drop would also tell us something that the next thing likely possible to happen is another huge pump. What we have now is the results from a huge number of investors who sell their BTC during halving. But I don't think it will turn back below $55k. For me, this is just a short-term impact of the halving and it recover back when demand increases. So, therefore, we have to take this chance before it skyrockets.

98  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 01, 2024, 01:05:11 PM
@Kemarit. You are correct. There is no argument against the signing of the contract with the rehydration clause is Ryan's fault. My argument is against the fans who do not consider the rehydration clause as the cause of King Ry's loss. Similar to what you have said, Tank will not fight this version of King Ry because he does not want to fight King Ry where he is strongest. However, King Ry agreed to fight Tank in his strongest and with a rehydration clause hehehehehe. I reckon it is very clear who will create a bigger legacy. This will not be Tank.

Too early to say who has a clear legacy, this fighters are still very young, and as per argument there could be fans that at the end of the day will used this fight to push Tank as the best compare to Ryan. Similar to fans that boasted Floyd's 50-0 against Manny Pacquaio for all the greatness after their retirement. But as we can see though, Manny's run was incredible, 8 division and many still considers the greatest and the best and Floyd is just second to him. So let's see how Ryan career will go after that big upset win against Haney. He could be a champion like Manny an be like by fans and even if he has lost already perhaps down in the future, if he chooses good fight, maybe, just maybe he will be up there with some of the great fighters.

That's correct, they are still young and still has a lot of fight to finish, just look at Haney for example, we thought that he'll be the next Mayweather as he has the size and the quickness to move up, but he loss to Ryan Garcia who is a heavy underdog at that time. So there's no guarantee on how they'll finish their career, but they have to impress the fans by not cherry picking their opponents, instead, they'll choose a fighter that are equal to their skills and that they'll be challenge.
99  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: May 01, 2024, 12:11:14 PM
My picks would be Celtics -14 and Dallas -3.. I think this Celtics beat is easy as Celtics will make sure they'll close the series and as usual, they will start strong until they finish, so more like a 30+ in blowout.
They have been blowing out the Heat after they got upset in game 2, so in a game that they will close the series, they will play harder and better as they are on their home court. I like the pick although the spread is high, and that over 30 points win is surely possible. Like the game 3 and 4, Celtics have to start strong in the first half so the heat cannot come back anymore. I'm also excited on the game tomorrow and I'm confident in choosing the Celtics -14.

Also on the Clippers vs Dallas, I think the home team are gonna avenge their previous loss, still no Leonard here but I like the Mavs taking the lead and finish at 6.
This is 50/50 for me, it's hard to predict especially that the Clippers are underdog after they defeated the Mavericks with the same line up. Actually, their 2 games was without Leonard, so missing Leonard in game 5 should not be a problem.
100  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Nery For Undisputed 122lbs Title - May on: April 30, 2024, 12:21:51 PM
So he can't really do that. If we look at the previous fight of Inoue, Marlon Tapales was able to land some solid shots from his counter punches, but the problem is the power was not there, can't even rocked Inoue, so I'm expecting that if Nery will do the same strategy, Nery should have the power to hurt Inoue, otherwise, he will suffer the same defeat as Tapales, will last a bit but will still be KO in the end. Honestly, I believe it's hard to beat Inoue, so it's a big problem for Nery on how he can upset the best fighter in Japan.
That's obviously true, Tapales is not a hard hitter that's why even if Inoue is hit sometimes, he is still very aggressive in hunting Tapales and knock him down. Actually, Inoue could knock down Tapales in just the first round, but because he doesn't underestimate Tapales, he take it slowly and surely and was just looking for the right timing until he sees an opportunity to KO Tapales.

Nery might be a different animal, but so far, it was only Inoue on their first time that has a decent match of beating Inoue, unfortunately, Donaire got tired in the end and his punches are not anymore as strong as in the early rounds.
