1021  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: May 18, 2023, 11:52:28 AM
Tomorrow, we have the Nuggets vs. Lakers game 2.

The spread is -5.5 in favor of the home team, with a total of 227 points.

Last time, it resulted in a push as the Nuggets were -6 during game time. However, this time, I don't think the line will move, so it's better to choose our sides now. I'm thinking the Nuggets will still win at home and might cover the spread. I know the Lakers were able to find a solution to their problem in the second half of game 1, but I'm also confident that the Nuggets will make adjustments.

Regarding the total score, I'm going under.
1022  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are there play and pay later casinos? on: May 18, 2023, 05:57:10 AM
As far as I know, you cannot borrow funds directly from an online casino. Perhaps your friend was referring to borrowing money at a land-based casino. In some cases, there may be loan sharks or individuals who lend money to gamblers at high interest rates. However, it's important to note that borrowing money from loan sharks can be risky and potentially dangerous, especially if you are unable to repay the debt. These types of loans are typically unsecured and may put your safety at risk. It's always advisable to avoid getting involved with such arrangements and to practice responsible gambling.
1023  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can NFTs last forever? on: May 17, 2023, 10:08:23 PM
I'd see people are happy before when buying NFT projects but for now, I really don't think we can see smile on their faces, probably regrets.
But what I take is that this NFT project will last for a long-time. Unfortunately, we can't also think that it was valuable, it was just your crypto collections instead. If we are thinking of a profit, we should not consider them on our list, they are dying actually. In fact, many people who buy them during their time/season can no longer sell them, nobody is buying this stuff actually.
1024  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco - May 20 on: May 17, 2023, 11:31:33 AM
The problem of current Lomachenko - he isnt hungry anymore. He has been boxing among pros for 10 years already. He has won European and World championship golden medals. While some people dream to get Olympic gold medal, Lomachenko got two of them. Not to mention all those belts he has got among professionals. He has achieved almost everything, he has earned a lot of money already, have lovely family. Compared to Haney, Loma has already "seen life, got everything". I really doubt that Loma needs and wants all that fights.

He may got everything that you said above but this fight has so much at stake for him. The unified title is what he is hoping for and this is what motivates him for this fight plus the fact that he is the underdog on this, this might be an additional motivation for him because seldom we see Loma becomes an underdog in his professional bout.

And because of that, it's important to seize this opportunity and bet on him with those attractive odds. Loma is going to make sure it's not going to be easy for Haney. We understand that Haney is a smart boxer, but I believe he hasn't faced a boxer as intelligent as Loma. Despite Loma's age, which some may consider him an older boxer, we might be surprised on fight night. Let's watch, see, and enjoy this highly anticipated big fight.
1025  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: May 17, 2023, 10:56:20 AM
Here's the updated Lakers vs Nuggets series odds.

You see the betting odds for the Lakers? They are quite high, offering a significant payout if they end up winning the series.

This presents another opportunity for those who have confidence in the Lakers, especially since they are only down 1 game in the series.
1026  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 16, 2023, 12:31:55 PM
It's tough to say or predict which one is better than another, Miami with a healthy Bam and Jimmy together with the whole cast of Miami they
are capable of beating any teams in NBA.

But, in Celtics side, we also see that same kind of energy all players are always ready when the coach calls them in and performs their best.

Let see if which team will show the hungriness in winning the series and move up to represent the east side.

If we base it on the current betting odds, it's quite evident that the Celtics are considered the stronger team.

Series moneyline: Celtics -525, Heat +400

However, the Heat have consistently been the underdogs throughout the playoffs, yet they continue to win. So, while the betting odds may suggest a certain outcome, they are not necessarily indicative of an expected loss. That's why I plan to continue following the trend and hope that the Heat can overcome the defending ECF champions.
1027  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: May 16, 2023, 11:59:44 AM

Congrats to Gilas and Brownlee in particular for leading the way to beat Team USA/Cambodia hehe.

I think next SEA we would see a lot of imports playing in this tournament now as they will follow what Cambodia did.

What were the betting odds for this game? I missed betting on it, actually, but I wanted to see the Philippines win. And they did win the game and grab the gold, but I regret not being able to place a bet. However, if the spread was like -10, I might have considered passing on this one to avoid potential losses.

It's a big win for the team, and they will go home with the gold, leaving no room for criticism.
1028  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do you favor betting on spesific sport? on: May 13, 2023, 01:48:24 PM
I am just curious to know why people favor one Sport over another, when it comes to betting? Is there specific Sport that increase your win chance or do you bet on those Sport for other reasons?

I know most people will favor certain Sport, because they know more about the players or the teams and information is power, when it comes to betting... but some Sport are 50/50 when it comes to the outcome of the match. (One lucky punch or kick can make a underdog a champion)

Please share your thoughts...  Tongue
I guess it will be more odd if you just bet even if you don’t know the whole thing about that sport, it’s like putting yourself at its losing end even if the betting has not yet started. That’s why most of us here would only want to bet on the games that we are also familiar of, on the game that we have certain favorites that are most likely to win and manipulate the game. You know, it’s useless to bet and put your money at risk when you don’t have any idea of the game you played, you are increasing your risk of losing, even though some games like this would still end up uncertainly.

You are right, personally, as I have said before, I am quite good at making some predictions about who can win in soccer, especially in the Leagues, but in the World Cup in Qatar I cannot deny that I was very wrong because there were certain results that surprised me now if on the Contrary I go to make bets on sports that I did not practice, such as basketball or baseball, that would be how I enter a casino to gamble, because basically it would be Giving myself over to luck and I consider that in sports betting the Things are handled with Knowledge and logic, then it would be an option to lose very easily.

It was our advantage to a sport that we support because we are already familiar with their team performance as we are following them the whole season. It is quite different and difficult to just speculate and rely on luck compared to a bet that we are really sure of ourselves that it was right (even tough the result is lose). As for me, I was preferred on basketball and I neglect to bet other sports because I know and just like what you are saying above, it just like i gamble in casino that only rely on luck.
1029  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in Bitcoin in Student Life on: May 13, 2023, 12:59:34 PM
Instead of keeping money in the bank, if you invest in Bitcoin, the money will return. Since there is a bull run in Bitcoin ahead, investing in the current time is more likely to grow the portfolio. (I say this is why people are sitting without investing in Bitcoin) Investing in Bitcoin is highly profitable and risky, but the chance of losing is very low at present. Although people deposit money in banks and in our country last two months a bank went bankrupt and thousands of people lost their money. So from here people should pledge and advise people around friends who are there. Investing in Bitcoin for a long time will definitely bring benefits.

Those who have an empty knowledge of crypto will prefer to keep their money in the bank. But those who really have an interest in crypto and working hard to gain knowledge about this will simply take risks in investing in Bitcoin. I don't say using a bank is a wrong move at all but what usually people think is that they gain security from the bank, unlike crypto investment.
Like what happened to OP, he did what he thinks is right and helpful for him. He is not just looking for something that he could rely but also, he is building a good future in crypto space.
1030  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I am only trying to stay safe by gambling less on: May 13, 2023, 11:58:48 AM

Professional help only helps a little because there is a time limit in helping, and indeed the most helpful and influential are the people closest to him. Like family, partners, friends and others, because they will always be with us and can help prevent it if they care.
and indeed when we are addicted to something it is very difficult for us to overcome, it is better not to get used to it and in the end it can become addicted. And to limit it we can create new activities that can be done on the sidelines of our busy life, so that we forget about addiction, and all of that there must still be intention and determination for addicts.
Professional help doesn't work on addiction like the way people perceived it to be, some people go as far as going meet a doctor to get some therapy and also rehabilitation but still, it will end with no positive result and that is what has been the reality, so just as you said, it is better not to get involved in any addictive activities or substance, because withdrawal process is not that easy to achieve on the long run.
But then a change of the environment can help you reduce the hold of addiction on the addicted and this can even go as far as erasing the memory from the victim but the majority of the efforts must come from the individual involved.
Agreed, doesn't matter how much effort we try to give but it is very difficult to get rid of it at the end unless a gambler can improve his situation in time. However, if people want, it is possible to bring about their own change. Gambling is especially effective if one can change the environment. A gambler's change of environment and location is not very effective in changing his addiction. If a gambler's company changes there can be something significant. But in my opinion, if a gambler can practice responsible gambling without going into such wars, it will be effective for him. If a gambler can control his greediness, he is less likely to become addicted.
I know that nobody wanted to get caught in addiction but because of some influence from friends and other gamblers, that gonna happen.
The problem now is how to get out of the cage of addiction since we know that it doesn't work easily especially if a gambler doesn't help themselves. Maybe, if we are serious to stick on our limitations and make it a habit from the start, definitely, we don't get into this tough situation.
1031  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Advice when you are going a bit far in gaming and betting on: May 13, 2023, 11:11:48 AM
Seek help if you feel you are no longer in control. Make a phone call to a friend or go out and speak with someone.
I do that strategy when lag and can't control again the game. I immediately called my best friend, and talk about something else. Fortunately, my friend knows that (I don't have control), and our conversation goes the same way. I do often tell if I am gambling and sometimes need help to refresh the mind, so if not burdensome I need a call every 3 hours, and my friend agree with condition I must invite him dinner and having fun if I won. Sometimes i need my friend to call me (pretend to be important) to leave the table.

I'd see your situation is getting worse and possible you had fallen into addiction already. You need to address your gambling habits, much better to stay away from gambling for weeks or even months to cut such addiction. And also for you to figure out what really happens to you. You'd better spend more time with your friends and might some of your old friends can help it out and totally be healed from gambling attraction.
1032  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: PEPE time to buy NOW? on: May 13, 2023, 10:35:02 AM
Always buy the rumors and sell the news, upon the announcement of binance listing it pumped hard but once it was listed it dumped hard as well that's why never expect memecoin to pump once listed on binance, it's other way around. Though we are in DIP market, it's still a good buy no matter what and always buy at your own risk hence PEPE has no actual utility, it's just a pure hype.
When the news spread out that the PEPE coin is on the Binance exchange it gives courage to the newbies and buy more thinking, and the hyped began but suddenly the trend changed when a bunch of early investors sell their coins. I couldn't get why still a lot of people buy this project when they know it has no use case and it only drives with hype due to Binance listing.
Buy now, regrets it later...although I admire their popularity but these meme coins actually have no place for me...
1033  Economy / Economics / Re: Why you should use spare money to invest on: May 12, 2023, 09:22:50 PM
There is no normal being that loves getting losses on business, career, investment and trades that's why even company holders make financial policies to keep record of investment and profits flows. And unlike other business bitcoin also makes sales and losses if you do not investment wisely....is nice when you put in what can not put you sickbed or gives you hypertension, don't invest out of what you cannot withstand the loss.

Is better to use small money or learn risk management first before investing especially newbies.
Is not all about using spare money to invest as we think that it was not hurt when it lose but it is all about how prepared we are to start that particular investment. Even if it was only spare money, it also comes our hard work but we dare to invest and take risk hoping that it grow more and bring us wealth. So why we should keep thinking it was okay to lose this money when we have ways to avoid it and work harder? It is all about the mindset that we have. We must know how to value every penny that we have that is why we don't think about it was just spare money but I rather be thinking it was our hard-earned money.
1034  Economy / Economics / Re: What to do with all guy who loss money to stock market on: May 12, 2023, 08:47:38 PM
Well one thing is sure, your broker is trying to motivate you but he is not being very straight wait you. If the market is dropped then it’s dropped and there are multiple theories about every stock in the market. It may come back, it may not come back and it may back after such long period of time that we would exhaust and sell it anyways.

They've got these promising words to make you motivate and invest in the stock market but never tell you the risk that awaits them. A thing that I hate much because if they are really helping people to grow, they must also warn them but guess what, these brokers say nothing, and what they did are just making you feel that this will help you reach your dream.

Of course, those who have experience or have knowledge already about the stock market know what will happen and the risk here. But innocent people and newcomers, they'll not be thinking about it considering how these brokers convince them.
1035  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What your opinion? on: May 12, 2023, 11:56:01 AM
Your prefer choice is trading. Even as a beginner you can trade but have to be careful and use only what you can offer to lose and when it happened it will not pain you. You have to trade with a very small amount of money at the beginning then you can increase it when you improve on the trading. As a beginner of the trading field, you have to learn very well first before entering the market if not you will lose all you cash and lay blame on people.
You can also leave trading and focus on investment where there is less risk. You only buy and monitor the price and sell whenever it goes up.
The interesting part of trading is very easy to start, just choose the preferred trading platform, then create an account, deposit some amounts, and start. But what next happens is usually terrible things, whether you make bad sell/buy calls, and suffer losses. It is very usual to see online promotions showing passive income in trading but are we sure it was true? People make a try and then see what trading is really about. Sadly, they will tell you how difficult it was in actual trading.
1036  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: May 12, 2023, 03:36:15 AM
Early into the 2nd quarter. Looks highly likely that Nuggets kick the Suns out of playoff contention. Bad start from KD, to make things worse. Durant is 1 of 8 shooting while all coming from 2pt range. That smells trouble for the Sun's. They really need Durant and Booker to keep them in playoffs. Cam Payne has had a fiery start and needs to keep that going.

It's déjà vu from the last playoffs when they were also trailing by 30 points at halftime against the Dallas Mavericks.

Booker has delivered some exceptional performances in the playoffs. However, if his team fails to make a comeback in this particular game (which I doubt), it may not positively impact his legacy in the NBA. Some argue that he is a good individual player but not a strong team player. This will only fuel the ongoing debate regarding Durant's ability to win a championship without Curry.
1037  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 12, 2023, 01:29:37 AM
If ever that AD wont be able to make it then Bron would really be needing to carry up again but i would say that it would be definitely be that hard for him to have that multiple roles or position but well this isnt the first time we've seen on doing this stuff specially if there would really be needing to patch up just because one of starting players are really having that injury but since its not that serious then it would be not
something to worry specially of Lakers fans out there. I do see that this might be closed up on Game 6 but well as long this series isnt over then we cant really tell on who would really
be taking the spot.

LeBron alone cannot carry his team; he is not the young LeBron anymore, as we remember. The Lakers need AD to win because he poses a threat inside, both offensively and defensively. Without him, the Warriors may continue to exploit the paint, and their strong 3-point shooting could give them an advantage, even on the road.

Davis has faced criticism for being a soft player, but that's just the reality. The Lakers are aware that this could happen to AD, and they simply have to deal with it. Besides, they are already leading the series.
1038  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Whats Your Favourite Meme Coins? on: May 11, 2023, 09:51:02 PM
The PEPE coin is getting too hype...
Dogecoin and Shiba Inu remain silent...

Not actually they are my favorite as I never invest any of them but if you are a hyped rider, you can take advantage of this new PEPE coin. So many meme coins out there but their market insights never change and it remains risky to put into an investment that has no potential to grow.
Many people had lost their money because of investing in the wrong projects but I won't stop you either OP since that is your money, I only give you insights into what might happen to you.
1039  Economy / Economics / Re: Success is fundamentally determined by luck, not effort. on: May 11, 2023, 09:23:00 PM
Many books have been written about success and luck in trading and investing. One of the best classic books is "Reminiscences of a Stock Operator". There are many stories of investors who went bankrupt many times, as well as rich people who lost their millions on investments.
Hard work isn't enough to gain success but I believe luck is also a part of it.
I agree that many rich people turn their millions into zero but this is not because they are working hard, they might putting into something that they are not good at, which means that they are pretty unlucky not to work it out despite the effort and hard work they did. In fact, even myself, it sometimes happens and sometimes we also need to give up on those investments that never work well otherwise, this will bring us to bankruptcy.
1040  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 11, 2023, 04:39:33 AM
The Warriors won by 15 points. That was awesome, and now the series is 3-2. They will still be on the edge in every game, but they have a chance to win the series, especially if they win on the road, which is difficult.

Green and Wiggins made great contributions, but Thompson hasn't found his rhythm yet after having a great Game 2 performance.

The top performers for the Warriors were:

Curry: 27 points
Wiggins: 25 points
Green: 20 points
