641  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and gambling which one has done you more harm on: September 30, 2023, 01:10:57 PM
Too sad to know that many people have chosen to gamble instead of making an investment. And this is probably because we usually think that gambling could make us rich in an instant if we get lucky. Such thinking can be found by most gamblers, especially poor people and it should be corrected knowing the fact that our chances are very slim. I've found also that many people are willing to lose their money in gambling rather than investing as they really don't get the idea that investing makes our lives better while gambling takes our money from us.
642  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling all about luck? on: September 30, 2023, 12:38:41 PM
In my opinion making cash from gambling is not a good option and the statistical probability that you will win every game at every casino is very low. I think winning or losing every game is completely in your head, so your individual tricks are not there. However, we all have some kind of luck so we should strive for what is possible for us.
It depends on the type of gambling we play because as far as I know, not all gambling games only rely on luck, for example the poker card game where you have to play by prioritizing strategy to be able to keep up with your opponent and if you succeed in using a better strategy than your opponent then the chance of winning is there. on your part when you are in the game, but it is different if we are in a game like slots or similar which are controlled by machines and systems, then it could be said that only luck guarantees our victory.

Though skills are very important in that play still, we need luck in order to win.
In general, when it comes to gambling, luck is something we need and skill is just an additional asset. Indeed, you can take advantage of your opponent and raise your chance to win the game. Just like sports betting, knowledge, and familiarization seem to work well and give us a bigger chance. That is why I preferred to gamble in sports betting as I know, luck isn't the only thing we need.
643  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and it effects on: September 30, 2023, 10:21:44 AM
Today I want to take a deep dive into gambling and how negatively it has impacted our society;

Growing up into a man I got used to gambling believing it will change my current financial status, which I was wrong, it was quite the opposite, not that am not seeing money, I was but I was too fix in making it through it.
That is the problem because we assume that gambling gives us a passive income and think we always win neglecting the fact that losses are even more possible. If we are into gambling, we must be aware also that we could lose our money. So instead of thinking about winning, better think about enjoying the moment so it won't hurt us if ever we lose.
Quote
When I finally quit the addiction, I realized that I was doing better than I even thought,

That was a good decision. Yes, we commit mistakes and take this as a reason to decide if we continue or not. Because if we are looking for passive income, gambling is not the answer.
644  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading can ruin you on: September 30, 2023, 07:00:22 AM
That is why we should learn trading first using demo accounts or get someone to teach us before starting otherwise, we are just like gambling. Trading is profitable indeed if we are really good at this but yes, can ruin our finances if we underestimate it. Many people tried this and ended up failing because of some reason. We can't just take this because someone told us that trading is easy and profitable, we also must know ourselves if we are capable enough to do this, or else, we can be like those many traders who tried and lost their money.
645  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you seen gambling advertisements on TV? Opinion. on: September 30, 2023, 06:25:12 AM
While watching TV with my kid, I've watched various advertisements of gambling nature (let's say for example, Rummy123, RummyCircle, A23 Rummy, etc.)
These are all specifically Indian ads, but I'm sure you may have seen various gambling advertisements, some banners at boundaries when cricket is ongoing, even in any other sport. How would a kid ignore those things, they might just come and ask you about what is it. Till when can we lie to them? Don't you think that the frequency of such ads must be less in order to let the kids not get trapped into gambling and don't do it at such a small age?
Good thing I'd never see it on TV so I have nothing to explain with my kids. Maybe this will depend on the location or country that allows gambling ads to be published on Television because I'd never seen it since before. But can be seen on social media platforms like Facebook, in fact, many social media influencers are promoting this. This is not really appropriate to be on television and parents have a huge role in educating their kids. But I think the government must implement rules restricting this kind of ads shown on television as this is not appropriate for kids.
646  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Let fear to lose be motivation to learn on: September 29, 2023, 09:38:08 PM

I know some of my mates who are into  cryptocurrency that phobia to lose but even with the fear to lose they still go ahead to trade. If beginners allows their fear to motivate them to learn first their won't be drastic lose in trading.

That will depend on our risk appetite, some people can take it high while others just can take it low. Fear is a big factor that would affect our decision making and honestly, it was hard to deal with it when we already have that phobia. Therefore, better to keep it low and never make this a motivation because that still appears someday and becomes a reason for our losses.
We have to keep in mind that trading is too risky and it is hard to keep your mind strong if you already have the fear inside.
647  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trade only Bitcoin on: September 29, 2023, 01:42:01 PM
Trading is a lifetime skill that is always beneficial if you know what you are doing, the biggest mistake of traders is trading alt that most times doesn't obey market structure,
when it comes to cryptocurrency, trade only Bitcoin.
Bitcoin doesn't just give you profit, it gives you security, it obeys market structure, for the past 2yrs I have been trading, I only have losess only when I trading Alt, price action trading I utilize will trading always gives me result when trading Bitcoin, but when it comes to Alt I really do feel as if am gambling, so my fellow traders, trade only Bitcoin, I don't know if anyone feel the same way?
Unfortunately, people's mindset is to earn more profit when trading and so they prefer to use altcoins instead of Bitcoin. I can't deny that and I have to admit that was really happened to me. I'd try trading using Bitcoin first and I try altcoins after because someone told me to do it and was a surprise that altcoins sometimes make you earn more when you get lucky especially when it is hype. I can say that there is a big difference when using Bitcoin and not to wonder why most traders choose altcoins while holders choose Bitcoin.
648  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will there be a boom again? on: September 29, 2023, 12:58:49 PM
The best that OP could do for himself or herself is taking things up with bitcoin, study the project and network, save out funds to invest when you can else, there would be a lot more regrets after that. Just as you already know, opportunity doesn’t sit around and the price for bitcoin isn’t either.
Now this is the best opportunity, I'm afraid retailers won't be able to buy at cheap prices like now. We will see many large companies starting to enter, when that happens prices will continue to rise and be higher than they are now. It is wise to buy now and start holding until the ATH is reached again. After all, this will be a profitable investment in the long term, for those who are not patient this will be a boring moment, but let's see how the profits will be seen later.
We're still given the chance to buy more and fill our bags ready for the next bull run. Those who wait for the bottom, I'm afraid that they will miss the chance and regret it.

We can't be uncertain about the 4-year cycle of the market. We have witnessed the bear season already and we couldn't think it was going to be like this forever but for sure, there is sunshine to be coming. Of course, not this year, we can't expect it but can be expected after halving. So buying now is a good idea but we also have to be patient if we want to earn more profit.
649  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting Tips for Consistent Profits on: September 29, 2023, 05:30:48 AM
It is also important to remember that the favorite does not always win!!!

They don't, but they win most of the time. However, if you're a bettor and consistently bet on the favorites, that can easily deplete your bankroll because of the odds which is normally below +100, in the long run, you'll still lose. It's important to understand the terms 'overvalued' and 'undervalued' as they can help us determine if the odds, for example, on the favorites, are correctly assessed. Sometimes, when a team or player is very popular, bookmakers may exploit our emotions because bettors tend to blindly bet on the favorites, leading to unfavorable outcomes.

As for spreads, I don't have information on whether the favorite or the underdog wins more often.
650  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Jermell Charlo - September 30th in Las Vegas on: September 29, 2023, 05:01:42 AM
https://www.boxingnews24.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Canelo-vs-Charlo-New-York-Press-Conference-08.15.23_09_30_2023_Presser-1-boxing-photo.jpg

it does not look that Charlo is two divisions below Canelo. I have no doubts that Canelo gonna win, but Charlo gonna cause him troubles for sure. We would see different Charlo, because he did not have to cut weight to fit into 154. I would not call it a disadvantage for his to fight in new weight class. In fact he risks nothing, as he went up to Canelo territory. While Canelo could lose belts, in case of a loss, Charlo looses nothing. When there is low to lose, he might show different boxing.

Their heights might be somewhat deceiving. We've seen Tank Davis fight taller fighters who were coming up to his weight but it was still a mismatch because of the power difference and being better acclimated to the weight. Canelo is used to fighting bigger and stronger fighters like Kovalev, Callum Smith, and Caleb Plant. Charlo might be able to make weight comfortably but that does not mean he will be able to sustain the punches from Canelo who is by far the heaviest hitter he has faced.

And to add to that, this is his first time to go to 168 lbs, so his power hasn't been tested, although we can see that he has it at 154 lbs. But this is new weight class for him. His body could adjust to the weight, no doubt about that, but can he bring his power to super middle weight?

That could only be answer inside the ring, if he tasted Canelo's power and how he will respond. But as far as Canelo goes, as you have said, he has face a lot of good boxers throughout his career, to be included there is GGG. But no one has the blue print yet to crack that solid chin of Canelo.

For Charlo to beat Canelo, he has to be quicker. It's true that Canelo has a solid chin, which makes it very dangerous to go toe to toe with him. Even the bigger Bivol couldn't knock him out despite his size advantage and fighting in his natural weight. Mayweather understood that as well; he used his quickness to score points throughout the 12 rounds, which is why he dominated Canelo.
651  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should I buy now or I should still wait for the dip? on: September 28, 2023, 09:52:40 PM
No one of us can predict accurately how much bitcoin will cost before the year is over. There are still a few months left in the year, and bitcoin is already bouncing between $25k and $26k+. We are unsure of whether the price will continue to decrease or rise slightly. In any case, I anticipate that bitcoin will complete this bear market at a price of $24k.
Well. the bear market is far from over. We are in the bear market at the moment and haven't touched the bottom yet. Although the price is stabilized at around $26k, this does not mean the bear market is over. There are chances that the market will slightly pump toward $30k to lure in more retail investors before the final dip. I think the bottom will be somewhere around $15k. The price will reach a new ATH in 2025.

I'm not sure how you determine bear season from normal market corrections as it was totally different because what we have experienced now is not a bear market situation but just price corrections. Often we saw such a bear market after the bull run and we're done last year. What we have now is just a usual market trend trend the UP and DOWN sentiment of the market. With the current price, I couldn't think about bouncing it back to $15k but instead, I was positive to reach $30k before this year ended.
652  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: DCA on a real account: does it work? on: September 28, 2023, 09:27:31 PM
Honestly, it is a different experience when you are doing it in actuality. DCA really works and based on your backtesting gives you a profit which is right but can't expect the market to behave the same as in your test that is why I would there big changes when doing it in real life. And for some reasons;
 - emotions dealing
 - market sentiment
 - risk management

Well, if you can play it well and stick to your plan, you can even make an ROI of more than 15-23% per year.
653  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 28, 2023, 10:28:21 AM
Here's the link of the full details:
https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/38505763/sources-blazers-trading-damian-lillard-bucks-3-team-deal

Well, many surprised with this trade. Many are hoping that the Heat will be the one to get him. Just a few days ago, the Raptors are the frontrunner on this trade, and now we saw the Bucks working in the dark, calling the Blazers GM, then making a trade. I already know that the Suns will be the third team that's involved with this trade, but I didn't expect that the Bucks will be the one who will get him.

On the flipside, Lillard already stated that he will not play with other team except the Heat. With Giannis playing alongside with him, I hope that this mindset of him will change. The Bucks are in a win-now situation because they're afraid that Giannis might leave the team if they will not compete for the title this upcoming season, so this move will motivate Giannis to stay with the team now that he's with another all-star already in Lillard. The question is, what will be the role of Middleton now? Will Dame be the PG of the team while Middleton will be the SG? Or Middleton will become a bench player.

It's a jackpot deal for the Bucks, and I think no one expected this outcome of the Lillard drama. Lillard is probably more than happy with this deal because he will play for a team that can really contend for the title. By the way, it's also worth noting that the Bucks not only got Lillard but also potentially retained Giannis, who earlier said that he might leave the Bucks.
As for Middleton's role, he will most likely be SG in the starting lineup. There is no need for the Bucks to put him on the bench.

Big news! No one saw it coming. The Bucks just surprised us, and they made the right move that could surely keep Giannis if they win a championship. We now have a big 3, all currently in their prime. Just imagine how big of a threat they are on the outside for Lillard and Middleton, both of whom are high-percentage 3-point shooters. Lillard is also unpredictable as he can attack the paint, which would help lessen the burden on Giannis.

With this news, the NBA Future odds have been adjusted, and the Bucks have now become the top favorites to win.

654  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: September 28, 2023, 09:54:55 AM
Depending on how both camps will negotiate, I also think that Tapales camp can activate that rematch clause as a defending champion
he can ask for it especially if he's not satisfied with the money.
I don't think money is the most important factor in activating the rematch. From the very beginning, they already negotiated, and Tapales already agreed to the terms. So if Tapales loses, I'm not sure if he will have the same share as in the first fight. For me, a rematch would only be activated if he is not convinced with the decision of the judges or if it's a close fight, and he thinks he can beat Inoue.

Since Inoue is seeking to unify all the belts, Tapales can demand things that may let Inoue agree, without Tapales having the desire to unify all the
belts won't be possible.

We can't tell what the future will be for both champs and how they will end this possible fight.

Let's speculate based on the outcome of the first fight. Right now, we should focus on the news of the upcoming fight as it's already confirmed.
655  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: September 27, 2023, 09:12:10 AM
I don't expect a lot of minutes from a rookie, but we never know, if the coach sees his value to the team, he might earn good minutes.
So the key here is hardwork and chemistry with teammates.

Not every player plays like a superstar during their rookie season, although there are a few exceptions. Some players manage to carry their team right from their rookie season, and good examples are Bollick and CJ Perez. However, is Kyt Jimenez on the same level? If the answer is no, then we shouldn't expect that.
656  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reasons you should not gamble on too many things at once. on: September 27, 2023, 08:27:48 AM
If you want to win, just focus on a few games so you will be able to master them. However, if your intention is to maximize the fun, then the right thing to do is try different gambling games. Of course, the likelihood of losing is high because more games means more exposure to gambling. But as long as you maintain your discipline, you should still enjoy yourself and ensure that you never lose more than you can afford to lose.
657  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 26, 2023, 07:37:55 AM
I think people are not interested in the rematch anymore, but since it's obligatory on the side of Crawford due to the rematch clause in the contract, we will see a rematch. But honestly, we already know who will win this fight. Maybe Spence is hoping for a miracle that he could beat Crawford, and then this rivalry is going to be interesting, as we might see a trilogy. However, for me, the chance of that happening is very slim. Crawford vs. Canelo has a higher chance of happening.

Although Crawford dominated Spence on their first fight, we all know that Spence can adjust his tactics so that it can counter Crawford's.  As I watch the fight between Spence and Crawford, I feel like Spence is out of sync.  I do not know if it is because of Crawford's strategy but I guess, it was a different Spence than the usual one that we have seen on their first fight.  So I would not be confident to say that this rematch will have the same ending like before (knocking out Spence).  There is always an upset in boxing so there is still a possibility even a little for Spence to win the rematch.

Not impossible to happen. We all know that Spence can bounce back and regain his throne.

Might be another rivalry that will earn the interest of boxing fans. They just need to continue doing their stuff, especially in keep updating
the fans with their social media accounts.

The more they are active, the more followers and supporters will possibly buy the tickets for their possible upcoming rematch.

It's possible that there are still people who would watch the rematch, but I don't expect it to be bigger than the first fight. The reason is they already saw the outcome of the first fight, and it wasn't close, so most likely they will be expecting the same result. Maybe this is the time when Spence will try to train harder and prove that he is still here. By winning this fight, they will surely earn a huge amount of money in a trilogy fight, as it's like going back to square one.
658  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [WARNING] Crypto casino scam on teh move again. on: September 26, 2023, 06:21:46 AM
This kind of strategy is a very obvious scam. First, why would you deposit in a certain casino without checking its reputation first? I mean, maybe gamblers who receive these messages are both greedy and gullible as they easily get victimized by scammers. Anyone can say, 'Hey, make a deposit and you will win easily. I'll tell you how to do it, but give me 30% when you win.' The question is, what if you lose?

Anyway, thanks for sharing this, OP. Newbies may be victimized, but those who aren't new to the gambling world, this trick would not work on them.
659  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading bots... do they work? on: September 25, 2023, 01:45:15 PM
Looking to get some real-world feedback on trading bots, the pros, the cons and the most important question... do they work?

So please, only comment below if you're actively using trading bots and how successful they are.
I'm not really good at trading so I try bots thinking that it help me and expecting this would change my mind about leaving trading. Unfortunately, the results never met my expectations, for me, it was a failed attempt. I've found out that trading bots is useless if you as a trader don't have knowledge about trading. I'm not sure if hiring someone to set up the bots instead of doing it personally is a good idea, but I don't think so. Because the only ticket for us in order to succeed in trading is to become knowledgeable about this.
660  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Gambling affect your relationship? on: September 23, 2023, 02:09:24 PM

When you talk about financial freedom, gambling is never and can never be a source for anyone to achieve financial freedom.

Gambling will damage your finances, not create financial freedom. Casinos are not a place to make money, so there will never be financial freedom in the world of gambling, as far as I know it will lead to mountains of debt. Can be sure that family and those closest will be the first to ask for a loan, which is where family relationships and friendships will be damaged because of gambling.

That will start making problems with their friends, and family members. Many things will change and arise once you've got caught in addiction, some people will understand it but most people will not. In fact, we can't expect that all the people around us will support our addiction and let us borrow their money, for they don't and can lead to having bad relationships, even your partners will never give you that. More often troubles will arise when there is financial problems occur inside and gambling addiction can be a factor in such thing.
