801  Economy / Securities / Re: Starting a new FPGA mining farm/contract! Cognitive Resurrected on [BTC-TC] on: April 11, 2013, 03:30:24 AM
will COG.F be converted to cognitive shares upon delivery of the 7 BFL singles or is it some other conditions?

My understanding (garrett can correct this) is that COG.F will remain a separate fund until the funds have been spent and until the equipment purchased with those funds is hashing.

That is correct. The 7 SC Singles are unrelated to COG.F.

Davos, the intent of COG.F was to provide investors incentive to make substantial investments, while maintaining a competitive price. A split would defeat those purposes (or at least one of them).

I believe when the Bitcoin exchange rate stabilizes a bit, the cognitive price will rise as well. Because after all we're generating roughly the same amount of btc regardless what the exchange rate is Smiley Also when BFL delivers I believe Cognitive price will rise.

Best,
Garrett

If we send you, will you put a Bitcoin logo on the 'bot?

As of now, I'm paying my own airfare/lodging, and was planning on doing it anyway Cheesy

I will put a bigger one on it if I get donations in BTC.

tl;dr: Hell Yes!

Why work for Butterfly Labs?

There's nothing more rewarding than working on interesting projects, with the exception of showcasing your pride and joy at CES. Here at Butterfly Labs, we bring our experience almost to market for specialty applications in Industry, Education and Government, recently attempted to satisfy Bitcoin miners. Each project is unique, well funded (very well-funded now) and has a real and virtual world application. It's a deeply rewarding environment, and boy do we pile it on deep.

Please considering joining us, and don't bother bringing a feather--we have the whole damn chicken here outside beautiful Kansas City.

Just an update here -- We did end up going and we took 14th place of the 400 teams there. The only reason we didn't do better is because our bot fell from a 9' tall pyramid which mangled up our shooter quite a bit and made us have two zero point matches. Considering that, I'm pretty impressed with 14th Smiley

Thanks to all who made it happen; it was a fantastic experience!

Hey fellow Bitcoiners,

My robotics team, as of two hours ago, has committed to attend the 2013 World FRC robotics competition in St. Louis, Missouri! For those of you familiar with the program, you know that this is both a huge commitment and opportunity. If you don't know what FIRST (For Inspiration of Science and Technology) is, I encourage you to check out http://www.usfirst.org/roboticsprograms/frc

The majority of our team is Seniors (12th grade students), so this is our last chance to attend this awesome event. This event is being coordinated entirely by the students (chiefly myself and one other) on the team, and all contributions are GREATLY appreciated! We need to raise just under $15,000 in the next two weeks.

We've done extraordinarily well at the two regionals we've attended this year, and have been asked repeatedly to attend worlds because of our outstanding performance. Here's a video from our Spokane regional that took place on this last Saturday. We are team 3145, the TeraViks! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=67n8G2JNfi8

Oddly enough, we took 2nd place in both regionals. Portland having 61 teams, and Spokane having 41 teams, it's safe to say we're a pretty solid team

Please check out our campaign at: http://teravikstostlouis.org/ (of course, bitcoin donations are accepted. There's a link toward the bottom of the page.) My promise to you (I can say this because I manage the funds) is that any and all funds donated to the team will be used entirely in the team's best interest.

If you cannot contribute personally, I would sincerely appreciate you spreading word of our team to those that might want to.

Thank you all!

Hopping in with 20+gh. I have no ASICs (yet) but it's the best I can do. Who's with me?!
806  Economy / Auctions / Re: Selling ** The VERY FIRST BFL ASIC Order ** on: April 07, 2013, 05:23:52 PM
remember: if you bid 11btc for a single, you're only paying OP.
bid for a jalapeno and upgrade it YOURSELF.

If you read OP, you'll see that I control the order still, and just ship it to you when I get it. AKA you cannot do the upgrade yourself.

Plus, it already sold Tongue

It was an inappropriate joke. (Again!). There is nothing to sell.

Take our your anger on the source (BFL) not the middleman (me) please.

Thanks.

Not on topic but whatever.

HAPPY $125 Bitcoin!!!
815  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: First BFL ASIC! on: April 03, 2013, 03:17:43 AM
Are you being compensated by BFL in any way for your development efforts or making these statements?
Yes, BFL is moving his order to the front of the line. Having the first hashing device will provide quite a nice profit for him.
My order was already at the front of the line.

I understand BFL shipping to a pool/miner dev first, but you were certainly not at the front of the normal queue so please refrain from lying to make you or them seem better, okay?

I know this because I was confirmed by BFL to be at the very front of the line, with order number 1656.

--Garrett
I don't lie. All I can speculate is that maybe their "very front of the line" included multiple positions as "front".

Edit: Another possibility is that the customer service people just didn't have it accurate, since my order was setup directly (not via the ordering system).

Not that I doubt you, but I doubt you so what was your order #?

I don't intend to make this a heated argument or anything, I just want to make sense of the situation.

Edit: just saw your edit. disregard this Tongue

818  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Pizza.. For Litecoins! on: April 01, 2013, 05:15:33 PM
I'm just trying to do this to see if it's possible to replicate the famous '10k BTC Pizza story'. I am willing to order a pizza for anyone anywhere in the world (as long as you have a pizza delivery shop with internet/phone orders that can deliver to your location) for 50 LTC, heh. Let me know!

A month ago, I would have said yes.

Thanks for not posting this a month ago Wink
819  Economy / Auctions / Re: Selling ** BFL ASIC SC Single Order # 2265 ** on: April 01, 2013, 07:47:43 AM
Yes I can provide whatever proof you'd like. I'm on my phone right now but when I get home in the morning I'll gladly prove ownership of the order to you. I'm happy to use an escrow service, but I find it entirely unnecessary because I myself act as an escrow, and am trusted with well over 100k USD of other peoples' assets currently. (Just check out my SIG links, post history, etc.)

Also my previous listing was not a joke, and I did sell it.

Happy April fools day! (And I'm not implying that this is a joke or anything lol)
820  Economy / Auctions / Re: Selling ** The VERY FIRST BFL ASIC Order ** on: March 31, 2013, 04:28:35 PM
Hi, so if I understand correctly. If I have a 3xxx order for a jalapeņo, can I get this upgraded to a single sc and not lose my place in the line?

I think that is correct.
Thanks. I have put my request in to BFL to upgrade :-)

Just confirming: yeah they'll do it for ya!

Cheers
