801  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying Drugs with Bitcoin ? on: July 12, 2016, 02:30:04 PM
We must never use such great thing as Bitcoin to buy awful things like drugs.
This is wrong. Besides, if such story comes up in mass media, the reputation of Bitcoin will be ruined in no time.

I do not aggree...  Negative stories can somtimes cause more people to get on board.   When there are riots in the UK, they are not televised for that same reason.  Maybe the Americans should stop televising cops shooting black people.

Anyhow: So what if I live in Africa and I use Bitcoin to buy much needed pharmaceuticals?  Is that bad?

Also, tea and coffee are drugs.  As are coca leaves but do we forbid Bolivian people BTC and insist that the leaves that are sold in local markets and by street vendors are sold in USD rather than allow them to use their smart phone to pay BTC?

My partner buys oil for his electronic cigarette on-line with BTC, that contains nicotine.   Should I tell him to use PayPal or Yandex_Money?

Maybe performance enhancements are your game and you are an athlete, bitcoin would be a good way to pay?  I am no athlete but when I was at university studying, some people were using cognitive performance enhancing drugs designed for dementia patents to up their grades. Should they be made to pay for them in fiat rather than btc?

Moreover: IF (and it is a big “IF” as further research is needed) cognitive performance enhancing drugs do work and... are safe,... why don't we all use them to get ahead in life.  Maybe it would be a good alternative to genetically engineering “clever” people which is going on.
It would also create a level playing field in athletics if everyone was allowed to dope safely.

I think the OP was in Holland where you are permitted to buy and use cannabis for recreational use.

You cannot stop people and/or pharmaceuticals companies using bitcoin, dollars, pounds, rupees, yuan, grostelcoin or even ethereum.  Making the activity illegal will change nothing.  I have it from reliable sources that bitcoin is even used between inmates in British prisons.

I just want everyone to use bitcoin, who ever you are, and whoever side you are on.
802  Other / Off-topic / Re: Hottest WOMEN who use Bitcoin? on: July 12, 2016, 01:28:12 PM
i didn't see any women in bitcoin world till now but  i tried to teach it to some of them but they don't understand it or didn't believed me.

I am the hottest woman to have ever used bitcoin but only my fella watches me.  I didn't know there were so many crypto voyeurs.

I think that a good proportion of the forum users here are really women, children or old folk.  Put it his way, if you are too old or too young to work, mining is a way of getting money.  If you are a child and have your own room and your parents pay the power bill, you have free money.  If you are old and live in care or live with your children, you also get free electric so can hide an ASIC somewhere.  If you are owned by someone or enslaved in the sex industry or in servitude or are in a political regime that considers you a dissident, you can make, move and save money.

Bitcoin has empowered the most marginalised on the planet.  Especially if you have been forbidden a bank account by your state, your owner, your pimp, or your guardian/parent.  But if you can get on-line, you can have some financial freedom and no one will ever know.  All you need to do is remember a string of words (seed)

So there are many "Hot" women using Bitcoin.  But you will never know who they are.
803  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FBI May soon open an investigation about ethereum intellectual property fraud on: July 12, 2016, 11:12:57 AM
Complain to FBI is one thing, FBI will open investigation is another thing. They are quite distance. I don't think FBI will handle this, period.

So what does that say about cointelegraph? That they are also instrumental about spreading the FUD and could be biased against Ethereum? I find that unbelievable because are the press. They should be unbiased and facts based.

What, like the BBC?  All media have their own agenda.  If it is true, i will believe your statment bbc.reporter, when i read about the FBI investigation into ethereum in vitalik's bitcoinmagazine.  After all, the BBC did a real good job of reporting how it was complicit in rampant systemic child sex abuse over decades and decades.

One thing is for sure, ethereum has and continues to destroyed investor confidence in crypto-currency.
804  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum to go up or down? on: July 11, 2016, 10:38:46 PM

Thanks @visaco, good read.

I invested in Ethereum and my wallet is the fatter for it.  I would never want a large position in eth now.  I got out a week before the Dao went down.  Everyone in the eth space just seemed to have this blind faith.  Quite terrifying.  I lost my nerve and sold the lot.  It has to be one of the most risky investments around right now.  It will go up and down but the overall trend will be down.
I am currently more concerned about the damage it's done to the reputation of all crypto-coin investments.
805  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The most widely used altcoin on: July 11, 2016, 09:49:50 PM
I didn't know you could use altcoins for anything other than exchange them for other altcoins, bitcoin, fiat or gold.
Maybe in America the head shops make you buy a potcoin before you can buy weed form them.
I know of a pub in Oxford, England where you can buy warm beer with feathercoin.  Smiley
806  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH GETTING DUMPED HARD!!!! on: July 11, 2016, 08:49:54 PM
The DAO has actually increased about 24% during the past 24 hrs going from .00012621 to .00015649.

Pumpers will pump anything what makes them money.

After the hard fork, the DAO owners will get almost 100% of the Ethereum back, so the price will rise.

Quite the opposite I'm afraid.
I am optimistic that the price of ETH will rise so I have no choice but invest more with the current price. This downfalll is just temporary and we have witness already before that the price has reach to a greater value.

I also think like that. But it is better for me to observe for a few more weeks or even months to see the price action.
Price will rise after HF because investors will have new found confidence in the network min securing the coin.

LOL!! they are doing the opposite of securing the chain bye HF'ing it! Lol

I think getting the stolen funds from the thief is also good. It seems some people like the Ethereum to fail.

All scamcoins should fail, unfortunately this one took alot of people down with it.

Yet who enabled it?  Why would Coindesk publicize so many articles on Ethereum and ignore authentic projects?  How long can Coindesk do this until they are brought down?

Uhhh..... being paid $$$$$$$$$$$?

The Dao token was the first crypto financial derivative.  My reaction at the time was "congrats, they just invented the crypto equivalent of Wall Street".
When the big banks became too big to fail, and when the unsinkable sank, and the puppet masters intervened, QE1, QE2, QE3,.... it confirmed to me that we needed a less crony way of organising money.  Then Bitcoin came along... and with it came hope.

The whole ethereum thing stinks of a big corporate banking establishment's experiment, to both test their new back-end banking retrofit upgrade and discredit Bitcoin.

Moreover; the constant chatter over forks for the sake of the price, is deeply damaging to investors  confidence in all crypto currencies.  Ethereum should die quietly, for the sake of all crypto coins.
807  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GRS] Groestlcoin | Porting all wallets on every platform for user adoption on: July 07, 2016, 03:23:46 AM
OK, it seems that when i tried to un-install Electrum-grs 2.4.5 from the Windows 7 64bit machine, Malwarebites Anti-Ransomware (BETA)0.9.16.484 detected it as a threat and quarantened files from AppData/Local.  It had quarantened other Electrum-grs 2.4.5 files too.

I now have groestlcoin-lite_windows-x64_0_14_0 running on the Windows 7 64bit machine without issue.  Receiving payments from Suprnova OK.

I managed to send the coin that was in the Electrum-grs 2.4.5 wallet to the groestlcoin-lite_windows-x64_0_14_0 wallet
by installing it on the Windows 7 32bit machine.  It never showed any conformations and always displayed "unverified".

At least i got my coin to send from there.  Electrum-grs 2.4.5 wallet now uninstalled from the Windows 7 32bit machine and laptop is having a good clean with Malwarebites and Bitdefender.

@jackielove4u Thanks for the help..... i take it you got the 1 GRS?   I'm interested to see if you see it as "unverified"?
FW5SRqgUnHYP5MdVxpLTKLbfWxzTPQZPzZ is no longer in use so do not return the coin.
keep it,..... it may be worth somthing oneday   Wink

Ok, so the fault i had was with electrum-grs 2.5.4 on my windows 7 64-bit laptop is as follows.....
The transactions (under history) are listed as "unverified" even though the wallet has synched, it has the green spot ok on bottom right corner so it has connection to a server and is displaying the correct ballance.  I cannot however, send my coin to address FWqvMkKGZowp9D4HXktQZS5krDyfLC11TL. (transaction fee 0.02grs)

I have now installed electrum-grs 2.5.4 on my windows 7 32-bit laptop.  I used the same seed.  The installation went well and the Anti-Virus detected no issues. However,.....
The transactions (under history) are listed as "unverified" even though the wallet has synched, it has the green spot ok on bottom right corner so it has connection to a server and is displaying the correct balance. I managed to send 1 groestl coin to address FWqvMkKGZowp9D4HXktQZS5krDyfLC11TL. (transaction fee 0.02grs).  Balance has adjusted correctly.

Could it be an issue at Supranova?  Did they pay enough transaction fee? (their transaction fee o.ooo1grs) Coins still building up at Supranova, checkout threshold is now not set. It is set to manual checkout.

Currently have 13 comfirmations at time of posting to FWqvMkKGZowp9D4HXktQZS5krDyfLC11TL
809  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GRS] Groestlcoin | Porting all wallets on every platform for user adoption on: July 07, 2016, 12:07:08 AM
Your extra 10 GRS is also there so no worries.
Your 1 GRS did not arrive. What software are u using to mine? easyminer?
Is would recommend to switch to Groestlcoin Core as wallet address instead of electrum-grs. Is that a option for you?

My mining software is yam yvg 1900.  It is not running on this machine.  It is running on a  4 card GPU rig.  I didnt want to put a wallet on the mining rig as it has limited hard drive space plus, i do not want to tie up CPU power running a wallet.  The GPUs are mining feathercoin, the CPUs are mining Groestl.  Adding even a thin wallet will reduce the rigs hashpower.  Also, i don't want to have to setup a monitor and keyboard an sit among the hot air and noisy fans every time i want to access my coin.  I would prefer not to be in the same room as the miner.

My GRS is currently building up at Suprnova pool and i do not want to disturb the part of the system that is working well, i.e. the mining rig, it's software and it's pool settings.  Also, this would not solve my problem of not being able to access my coins.  I just want a wallet i can carry around and to be able to go on the blockchain and get to the coins that are pilling up at my address.  I hope you understand that it is just a functioning wallet that i need.  I want to be able to send and receive my GRS from a laptop.  I am not changing anything on the rig.

I have another laptop that i can download and install an electrum-GRS 2.5.4. so i will do that.
I will try my seeds in it and see if i can access my coin that way.  I wish all these coins had potable wallets like electrum LTC and electrum BTC.   I could keep them all on a USB stick, and access my Crypto Currencies on any PC.

@jackielove4u looks like bitdefender Anti-virus is blocking my wallet.  Are there any known issues?

What a headache.  Is there a portable version.  So i have to download another wallet and wait for it to sync... again.... so much time spent on this already.  Can someone send me their address and i will send them some GRS to see if it works?  That will be quicker.

LOL, no need for drama. Are you sure u know what u are talking about? You do know that Electrum-GRS does not need syncing? U didnt had to spent so much time on it, just 2 minutes. Electrum-GRS is syncless are there is no need to download blockheaders.

I did not ask u to download another wallet and to sync. I asked u to create a new wallet file within Electrum-GRS and to reopen the old wallet file(see the difference?).

Send some here: FWqvMkKGZowp9D4HXktQZS5krDyfLC11TL

Yer, getting it mixed up with feathercoin.  Electrum-GRS is a lite type and only uses headers.  Just had another payment come in.  Getting a bit stressed as i got them coming in thick and fast.  Another 10 GRS with the same problem

I have just sent a payment of 1 GRS to FWqvMkKGZowp9D4HXktQZS5krDyfLC11TL  it doesnt look like it sent though, i did not get a "Message sent" notice.

Only have 2 servers to choose from.  Both give good connections.
But nothing changes.  Still says "Not yet redeemed" in explorer, Still says "unverified" in wallet.

I have electrum wallets for Bitcoin and Litecoin and never had this problem.  Maybe i should stop mining this coin as i will soon have more coin being sent to me.

i have posted an immage here   https://forum.ethereum.org/discussion/comment/46641/#Comment_46641

What an interesting coin.  I have it CPU mining in the background on my feathercoin GPU mining rig.

I got it up and running in no time thanks to this page http://cpucoinlist.com/how-to/cpu-mine-groestlcoin/

The only one worry i have is, I got my first payout of 10 GRS from suprnova to my electrum Groestlcoin wallet yesterday and it still shows unverified. Huh

Which version of Electrum-grs do u use?
Do you have a txid? Did you check it on the blockexplorer?

Wallet is Electrum-grs 2.5.4

My address is FW5SRqgUnHYP5MdVxpLTKLbfWxzTPQZPzZ     "Not yet redeemed" ?? ??  what does that mean?  My wallet says unverified

817  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum mining still profitable? on: July 06, 2016, 10:35:20 AM
ETH will go PoS, and then it'll be only the rich deciding things anyways.

word. I dont get the pos shit, sure it solves the insane energy requirements but at what cost? Back to the top 1% running the world?

We can all buy some Ethereum so that the top rich will not have more than 50% of the total voting power.

In this world the 1% super rich controls 80-90% of the wealth. They can manipulate almost everything.

@Auponef I was making coments like that on forum.ethereum.org 4 months ago and they all got took down.  Conformation by action.
roll on Global Insurrection Against Banker Occupation.
818  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Future of Altcoin Mining on: July 06, 2016, 10:24:27 AM
Use this......  https://www.whattomine.com

I am currently fliting between eth and feather depending which is top of the leader board. However, what is left of the CPU power on the rig is being used to mine Groestl.

So 2 coins on 1 rig!

Eth is running out of time, getting too big too, wow those DAG files! soon PoS, and the price, hmmmm... and its connection with the DAO  Angry
feathercoin looks ok, ASIC resistant on neoscrypt   Wink
Groestl seems to run in the background with a bit of CPU throtling and seems to be just as efficent on CPU as GPU.

I'm still looking for best ways to cash out, as i like to cash out once per month from Altcoin to either Gold or bitcoin.....  And in the case of eth.... im so glad i did.  I was only holding 0.119 eth when the DAO was hacked so i got to keep my shirt.  And I enjoied 3 -4 months of very profitable mining, sh*t myself when the electric bill came though.

Things are changing....  Lets see what happens after the bitcoin price doubling Cool  £300 two months ago.... £600 in two months time.

I'm interested to see what others plan on doing with their GPUs after ethereum.

820  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Delusion on: June 18, 2016, 10:31:26 AM
Delusion or not.  I love ethereum. My wallet is fatter for it.  I could see ethereum was a ponzi!  But I love a good ponzi.
I started solo mining eth on 1st of April (April fools day), I hit two blocks in the first 36 hours.
I made ROI for my rig and electric costs in just 40 days.  I then pool mined up until last weekend when I decided to sell all my eth for Btc  (@ ~0.024btc pre eth) shut my rig down and sit back and watched it all happen.

l@@k  https://forum.ethereum.org/discussion/7562/i-shut-my-rig-down-now-using-my-money-set-aside-for-electric-to-buy-bitcoin

So I won't have a bad thing said about VB, I want to kiss him.  I bet he wish he had not dropped out of collage now though.  Cheesy

This volatility is where we make our money.  I currently have an eth position of 119 finney (0.119eth)
If Eth goes to $2... I will buy “a little” and look to sell it before the next crest ($18) or.... lose “a little” if it fails.
