801  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How should Lotteries be categorized? on: December 29, 2023, 01:32:13 AM
It will create confusion if the authorities do not, or stop categorizing lottery as gambling it has all the forms of what gambling is, betting the bettors' mindset, it may be different from all the games on how it is being played and the chances of winning but its still gambling I cannot think of any other category for lottery but only gambling
in gambling, luck plays a big part, whatever the percentage of chances a bettor has in hitting a jackpot.
Bettors put money into it in the hope of winning just like they do in casinos or other betting forms, the government the bettors and everyone involved in the lottery categorize it as gambling, if it's not what could be the right category?
802  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - December 26 on: December 28, 2023, 03:56:36 PM
result match inoue win with KO in ronde 10
but the match was very exciting and interesting
but tapales this boxer from the philippines is still outclassed.

I don't know what's wrong about tapales cause what I saw is the opposite of my expectations cause he is not just very aggressive cause he is always waiting the right time which is he control his punches he didn't throw so much punches  while Inoue punch him so much and in the round 4 we saw that tapales was hit a good shot and that's the reason why Inoue getting more aggressive because of that knockout.

There's nothing wrong with Tapales it just happened that he is facing a monster who is notorious for knocking out his opponents, he was fully aware of all of this because he had watched all of Inoue's fights and he was just making sure that he was well defended and at the same trying to impose his offense and plan, I'm proud of Tapales because he hurt and back down Inoue in some rounds but the gap in power and speed was just too obvious.
Tapales' only consolation is he made a lot of money in this fight and that will help him and his loved ones.
803  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling for fun, is it a lie that we tell ourselves? on: December 28, 2023, 03:07:01 PM

I know that it's said that you should gamble the amount that you can afford to loose, but will you call it a true fun when you know that there's a higher probability of losing your bet?

If you're not comfortable with that fact and you cannot have fun knowing that there's a big probability of losing then don't gamble, casinos are business operated to make profit its not cheap to set up an online casinos the cost is too big and this is not a cash cow of people, though some people tries to make it as their cash cow.

You can try the easy way and that is by accepting that your chance is 50/50 and have fun with the games or the hard by trying to make the casino you're cash cow but expect to get disappointed because the house has an edge and that edge will play out anytime, so if you're already winning and you think that calling a day is a good idea then do so, or you could lose your winning and will have to chase your losses and eventually get disappointed.
804  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can I dodge KYC using the his medium. on: December 28, 2023, 12:39:51 PM
Is it possible one can dodge KYC verification request after winning a big amount of money and decides not to withdraw a lump sum but bit by bit in smaller amounts. I have read many posts talking about how they wanted to withdraw the money they won but due to the amount they wanted to withdraw was big, they were asked  pass kyc verification because they never did when they first registered.

Are you trying to withdraw a big sum of money, if so what is the name of the casino, you have to read the terms of service of the casino you're playing some casinos have it in their terms that they can ask for KYC anytime even if you're not trying to withdraw a big amount of money.
They can ask for KYC if your account is suspicious, so no not because you are withdrawing a small portion of your big-winning you can dodge KYC so its better to be fully aware of the terms of service of the casino you're playing.
Or communicate with the support to fully understand their KYC requirement or procedures.
805  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: License: is it a guarantee? on: December 28, 2023, 09:15:14 AM
Almost every gamblers notably those that make use of online Casino's for their gambling have the notion that except from a license owned casino they don't use any  casino without a license, which I think is a cautious thing to do.

But have been wondering and wanting to ask, does a license guarantees that a casino won't scam it's customer's going forward.

That's not true, with or without a license a casino could scam you, a license is not a guarantee that you are safe you have to always check the status of the casino you're playing, the license shows that they are compliant with the regulatory board like AMLAC, and they show seriousness in running their business because it cost money to get a license but you should not feel comfortable when playing in a casino because of the license there's a lot of casinos here who scammed their players even if their license is prominently displayed on their homepage.

I prefer to check the scam accusation here or independent casino reviewers to check the status of the casino than rely on a license, but you must also know how to weigh or check if the accusations are valid, any gambler can open an accusation but only a deep analysis can prove if the accusation will stand.
806  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How many hours is the best time for a gambler to last while gambling? on: December 27, 2023, 03:49:07 PM
This thought just crossed my mind after I dropped my comment on this board here some hours ago. I have tried to search for any related topic but have not gotten any results. Guys, if this topic has been discussed before, please do well to tag me while you also drop your opinions here.

If the title is a bit tricky, then I will break it down.

Gambling is for fun, and actually, if someone wants to have fun gambling, there is no way they can spend six hours gambling or even spend the rest of their day gambling.

In my opinion,  the more time one decides to spend on gambling, the more money they lose. For example, if I spend like one hour gambling and another gambler spends like six hours gambling, which one of us do you think will spend more money?
Of course, the one playing with the longer hours is the one that will likely lose money, but it's not about the money or length of time playing it is how comfortable these people losing the money, you can play 6 hours and lose $100 and it's ok for you and you have a guy playing 2 hours and lose $30 and he got out feeling depressed because of the loss.

Quote
So the question again is: how many hours do you gamblers think are more appropriate to spend while gambling?
It depends on the player's preference, his money, and his enjoyment there's no rule when it comes to the length of time, it varies for every individual, the most important thing to consider is whether can he afford to lose what he allocates and is he ok and not feeling exhausted when he logs out.

Quote
Some people will say that they will gamble for as long as their deposited money is still not exhausted, while others will say that they will gamble until their urge is satisfied. But I think that it will be exhausting to gamble for a very long time, like more than 6 hours, and it will also cause the gambler to lose more.
I don't think I have gambled more than 2 hours without getting tired (not sure) Grin. I have not actually checked my gambling strength to know how long I can last while gambling; now that I have thought of it, I will try it.

Six hours is exhausting but in physical casinos, some players can play for up to 12 hours and they keep going on, in my case 1 or 2 hours daily is just enough I have a phrase that I strictly follow and so far I'm good doing that, but there are times when I reached 4 hours of playing during the weekend in a card game against my friends, its really about schedule and your motivation, and of course you need to finish gambling feeling good, not exhausted.
807  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wilder Vs Parker & Joshua Vs Wallin Boxing Mega Saudi card 23rd December on: December 27, 2023, 02:06:38 PM
So AJ who hinted an interest in fighting Wilder after his fight with Wallin. AJ might get it since Wilder after that humbling defeat to Parker started to talk once again. Wilder still wanted the AJ fight a go and was even saying that AJ might use the Parker victory as an excuse and pick another opponent.

Without a big Saudi offer, it won't be surprising if AJ offers Wilder a fight in the UK. It's still big and it's easy money if AJ stays disciplined the whole fight. But AJ being the most popular heavyweight right now could choose easier fights rather than the dangerous Hrgovic, Parker, and Usyk-Fury winner. Another good option is Ngannou and the 40-year-old WBO interim champ, Zhang Zhilei.
Maybe that is the reason why they made this news come out

Quote
Deontay Wilder has claimed he had problems heading into his fight with Joseph Parker - after spending too long in a cryotherapy chamber.
It now seems that Wilder may have been injured going into the fight as Queensbury Promotions boss Frank Warren said to talkSPORT: “I was talking to Wilder’s manager Shelly Finkel, he was telling me that he had a problem. I thought he looked pretty dreadful. He went into one of those cryotherapy chambers and sat in it for quite a long time. I don’t know, Obviously, there’s going to be some excuse.”

Deontay Wilder makes unlikely excuse for performance against Joseph Parker

They make it appear that the cryotherapy chambers have something to do with it, and not really because Parker is good or Wilder is losing his touch, both fighters still want to go on with the fight, AJ wants it because he is in a comeback momentum while Wilder is still having a second thought if he wants to continue we'll know this in the coming months Wilder might turn around with the deal or he might continue but he is risking his legacy, 3 losses in 4 fights is not good usually if you lose you will cherry-picked a fight to get back your momentum, but AJ is not a cherry-picked fight.
808  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there any fun in losing while gambling on: December 27, 2023, 11:36:25 AM
Over the time, I’ve seen several post, by users here who, claim that gambling is strictly for fun,

It is, casinos are entertainment platforms whether they are online or offline, if you check their TOS and what's on their license it says they are an entertainment platform
so gamblers who treat gambling as entertainment are just stating the fact, things go wrong when you treat gambling as a platform where you can make money.

Quote
even when one is making losses and I’ve paused to ask this question “Is there actually any fun in gambling especially when the losses are more than the winnings?”
You have fun watching a movie and you're paying money to watch a movie so does gambling, the only difference between the two is you have an opportunity to make money but you should not force it, if the opportunity to make money then grab it, when you are gambling you should only play with money that you can afford to lose or money that you can allocate for entertainment.

Quote
Let’s be frank, there are several other things one can do for fun aside from gambling and I understand that life its own is a risk but seeing claims that people see gambling as fun even when making losses is weird and I think it’s worth discussion as to know if truly people gamble strictly for fun without minding if they’re losing or winning

It's not that you are supposed to lose in gambling but human loves challenges, much more mental challenges and this is something gambling is offering, you can lose or you can win and as a responsible gambler, you should have fun and accept losses and welcome winnings, if you understand this you are safe in gambling.
809  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto Casinos on: December 27, 2023, 04:01:16 AM
Hi everyone,

I'm a casino affiliate webmaster and I'm currently working with only one crypto casino. So far, no success. Are there crypto casino affiliate programs that are worth spending time to invest in?

Thanks,
Idan
You're not doing enough research to say that, there are a lot of casinos that offer good affiliate marketing rewards, and maybe you're not promoting your casino affiliate platforms enough to get more referrals, there's no problem on casino affiliate,  the problem is how you promote and who you are going to recruit to sig up to your link, everything depends on how your referral spend, you could have 100 referrals but if none or only few will deposit and play and their deposit is not that huge, you're not going to earn a decent amount.
And one more thing be sure to work on casino platform with good reputation when it comes to rewarding their affiliates I read a lot of affiliate marketers getting their affiliates deleted because of the changes of the casinos' affiliate set up.
810  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It is you who can't stop betting. on: December 26, 2023, 02:08:19 PM
Happy Christmas to all gamblers. I have been reading some threads and comments that many people have been saying that they find it very difficult to stop gambling (not only gambling addicts), but on one hand, I really think that it is not hard to quit gambling even when you are winning and not winning, but it is you who can't control yourself.
That's because of the dopamine effect, once it plays in your head you can't stop playing until you have satisfied your inner hunger, the dopamine keeps increasing so we have to gamble more and more to achieve that level of dopamine when you control your dopamine level that's the only way you can control how you gamble.
Quote
When we have a gambling win, the brain releases a feel-good chemical called dopamine

Quote
Bets can not force one to stake, but a gambler can force themselves to stake a bet, even when he or she does not have money to bet. Some gamblers did not learn how to gamble. They just see themselves doing it, but they can't stop it. Why because they can't control themselves, even when they are not addicted gamblers?
What do we have to say about this?

When you start gambling you will feel a kind of excitement that you will not feel on things that you're doing, and you will find gambling as an escape from the daily routine of work which is why so many become addicted to gambling, the excitement and the potential to make money are two of powerful combination for a gambler to stay on and to keep on playing.
811  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which currency do you prefer to use for BTC/LTC/ETH transactions? on: December 26, 2023, 01:19:15 PM
It was a question that's been asked months ago but it's very timely. Using BTC now for transactions will be costing you a lot of fees and might be the same for ETH because sometimes fees there are also that much. For LTC, I've used it and it still has cheap fees at all.
If there are other networks like the TRC20, matic sol, and many others. Wherever you can save fees, use them at this moment but eventually for the fees of Bitcoin, I think that they'll be very back soon for being cheap again.

I'm hopeful too about btc transaction fees to come back to being normal again, because it remains the preferred choice, I guess that this lingering congestion is because of the events that concerns Bitcoin that we're expecting next year and investors are flooding it's network for transactions. Litecoin, usage has been unanimously agreed that it has a cheaper fees compared to btc and eth that were preferreble, so as it is now Litecoin, has carried the day in terms of it's cheaper fees, until btc and eth networks stabilizes.

The disruption or congestion in the network is caused by ordinals and inscriptions
Quote
For the uninitiated, Ordinal Inscriptions are a type of digital asset on the blockchain network. While comparable to NFTs, these started with being engraved onto individual satoshis (SATS), the smallest units of Bitcoin (BTC)...
This sudden spike in ordinal inscriptions increased the load on blockchain networks, causing problems.
https://coinchapter.com/ordinal-inscriptions-wreak-havoc-on-blockchain-networks/

The blockchain should have been solely for transactions but because of these inscriptions there's a 20% surge in transactions and it will even go higher, some developers are working to fix this issue like what Cronos chain is doing.
Quote
To face these challenges, blockchain networks are now having to innovate to curtail the surge in traffic. For example, last week, Cronos activated dynamic transaction fees that change with transaction volume to withstand traffic spikes more effectively.

Right now the preferable alternates for Bitcoin are Litecoin and Dogecoin, but many networks and companies adopt USDT, many altcoins are good alternatives right now, it's their time to shine now because of the traffic congestion in Bitcoin blockchain.

812  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - December 26 on: December 26, 2023, 12:14:21 PM

How sad It end up not in favor with Tapales but still he bring a good fight and it really show that Inoue's skill is om different level. But still a great achievement for Tapales for lasting at round 10 since not all Inoue's opponent would last at late rounds. And would agree that its better for Tapales for not getting up on his last knock out since its very clear that he already lost in that match. He may get more damage if he insist to make the fight last until round 12 and that can give him more problems.

I think Inoue will get one more fight and after that he will go up to feather weight since he want to chase more belt then break more records.

So fast and so strong that's how I describe Inoue in this fight he has maintained his speed and power from the Bantamweight, and in his recent interview he mentioned he would stay here and do a few more fights before moving on in the higher division, I think featherweight is a more challenging division for Inoue, these are the featherweight champion that he is going to face in case he move up to featherweight I think he will move up before the end of this year.

Rey Vargas 36–1 (22 KO), Luis Alberto Lopez 29–2 (16 KO) and Rafael Espinoza 24–0 (20 KO)
813  Other / Meta / Re: Has anyone here received bitcointalk phishing emails? on: December 26, 2023, 07:02:25 AM
Was reading 2fa topic, and thought crossed about scammers may now phish for 2fa codes, then realized I have never received password phishing mails in first place.

Have you?

If there are phishing emails they will be reported but right now there are none like that, Theymos already reminded us to keep the email associated with our Bitcointalk account secured so creating an email account exclusively for Bitcointalk is highly recommended, now that we have that 2FA I can use the bypass captcha code, as the hacker will have a hard time brute-forcing my password.
814  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Gambling Affiliate Program Problem on: December 26, 2023, 06:26:24 AM

I'm a Gambling Affiliate and something is bothering for some time. In most of the casino affiliate programs that I registered to, I can make a little amount of money or nothing at all. Did anybody encountered a similar problem?

Your earnings depend on your referrals' wages if they are not playing then you will not earn or if they are not spending a lot then do not expect a lot of money in your earnings, if you know your referrals' personality or they know who they sign up with better offer a rake back or a percentage of your earnings so they will become active in playing or motivated to play.

And always become updated on the terms, we have seen reports of casinos changing their terms or changing the whole structure of their referrals, many of them losing all their referrals or losing a big portion of their earnings, your referral earnings are your residual income and your referrals sign up to your link believing that you are referring to a good casino, so only promote casino with good reputation, who will not scam your referrals and will not steal your earnings.
815  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: In The Span Of six months what will make you trust a new casino on: December 25, 2023, 04:08:22 PM

It's just not realistic for casinos not to have complaints and accusations since not all players are honest.

What I mean is a valid scam complaint we all know there are cheaters, opportunists, and blackmailers especially for new casinos if they can address the complaint right away and prove that the accusation is not a valid one, just created to extort or cast doubts on the casino, then the complaints will backfire against the complainant.
The community is wise enough to see who's telling the truth we have seen some instances where the complainants are just making it out to look a new casino bad.
816  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should security be employed in local bet shop? on: December 25, 2023, 03:26:04 PM
For those persons who prefer gambling in local bet shops instead of gambling online. I know that most times some persons carry huge sums of money to come to gamble and I understand that if it was a local casino there would be securities. Now, in the local bet shop, why are there no securities? I know a local bet shop close to where I reside. There are no securities there and there are people who act strange and mentally unstable there. They could cause fights, noise, and cheat. So for other persons to feel safe betting there I think securities should be employed there.

I will not even go near that kind of betting station who do not prioritize the safety of their bettors, their bettors are the ones bringing the money into their vault so it is just right that they invest in securing their betting station.

It's not inviting if there are bad elements or criminal-looking people in the vicinity of the station, they will eventually lose their business, they should hire security personnel and invest in close circuit television and make it known to people that their place is secure and they are taking good care of the safety of their bettors.
817  Economy / Gambling discussion / In The Span Of six months what will make you trust a new casino on: December 25, 2023, 02:43:28 PM
If a new casino launches an announcement here in Bitcointalk what are the requirements or criteria that will make you trust them?
Within six months after they launched their announcement here

Launching a review and signature campaign?

No complaints or scam accusations?

Very responsive representative here?

Good reviews from casino review sites?

Please vote and tell us why this is your choice all reasons are valid points but if you're going to pick one that will be the best answer what will it be?

818  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lack of proper knowledge on casino games increases chance of loss and reduce fun on: December 25, 2023, 01:26:34 PM

I would like to ask if some people here has experienced this too and what is the possibility that most people who experience repeated losses are Ignorant of the game play patterns.

These are newbie mistakes but you will eventually look for methods, guides, and patterns as you move forward, especially if you're serious about making money in gambling or have a fair chance in gambling.
It's the human instinct when we are trying to look for an effective way to keep our bankroll, even if friends or other people advise us that gambling is just for fun, it is human motivation that we search, for and explore various ways to conquer things.
This is why so many methods and patterns are introduced or created and gamblers keep innovating or even go to the point of cheating just to have a chance to beat the house, even though it has been proven that the house always wins.

819  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - December 26 on: December 25, 2023, 12:14:26 PM

Tapales is underestimated, that's not surprising at all as anyone who would fight Inoue would always end up a heavy underdog in the bookies market.

Right now all of Inoue's opponents in his weight division are underestimated because nobody comes close to beating him, Donaire was the closest opponent but on their second fight Inoue knocked him out, Tapales in his last fight, he did not show a performance that can equal Inoue's skill and power, I hope he can put a good fight and Inoue will not hurt him like he did to Donaire.
The fight will be held tomorrow, it is the best gift for both boxers, the winner takes everything, prestige, all the titles if the fight proves to be close there could be a rematch, so let's see how the fight will turn out to be I'm hoping that Tapales could be the one to give Inoue the toughest fight of his life or beat him
820  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should mentally unstable people be allowed to gamble? on: December 25, 2023, 10:32:06 AM
Recently I was around a physical bet shop close to my area and I observed a man who was shabbily dressed walking in the gambling house. I got into the place to observe what his intentions were. He walked straight to the gaming attendant, placed his bets in a highly coordinated manner and quietly walked out of the physical gambling house. From the way he was well organized, you will never know that he was mentally unsound apart from his dirty clothes and unkept hair and beard.

When I inquired from the attendant, she said he was a regular customer and that he usually raised money for gambling through the manual jobs he does around the area. She also told me that he has never misbehaved and acted violently in the gambling house so she was comfortable with him.

My question now is are there any moral, ethical or legal obligation to bar a person from gambling after physically observing that he is mentally unstable?

That's discrimination the attendant already said that he never misbehaved or caused any trouble so he has the privilege to play unless that physical casino has a rule barring people with unusual behavior from staying on their premises but then again they have to check the background and examine the person because looks can be deceiving.
When it comes online, there's nothing in their terms that will tell gamblers to submit their mental or health condition, it's up to gamblers to examine themselves if they are fit to play online, when it comes to gambling it's always been played at your own risk.
Yes, gambling is a great source of entertainment but it can also become a source of mental anguish, so examine yourself if you can take all the risk in gambling.
