To clear your doubts, read this:
https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/other/only-3-of-bittrex-customers-claimed-their-assets-in-bankruptcy/ar-AA1gMozx
"Why it matters: Distinct for its high number of low-balance accounts, the case serves to highlight that being a claimant in a crypto bankruptcy requires a good amount of effort and personal data — and for many, the reward may not justify the price."

https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/companies/surprisingly-few-us-customers-want-their-bittrex-money-back/ar-AA1gFE9P
"Bittrex, which filed for bankruptcy in May, could be left in profit as customers aren’t claiming their money"
I never doubt what you say, I'm just surprised that this happens in an advanced civilized country like the United States.
According to the link you mentioned:
Quote
just under 36,000 customers have withdrawn around $143 million worth of crypto, the company’s lawyer Patty Tomasco told a Delaware courtroom Wednesday.

That’s just a fraction of the 1.6 million customers who were sent emails asking them to withdraw after the bankruptcy
Frankly, I was surprised by the information because I thought this only happened in poor countries and third world countries, and I did not imagine it even happening in the United States.
823  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: UK House of Lords passes bill to seize stolen crypto on: September 21, 2023, 02:58:45 AM
I have seen information from Americans that they do not take money from bankrupt exchanges because they do not want to fill out a lot of forms and go through checks with government agencies.
I thought that bureaucracy only existed in our country and that it did not exist in developed countries!!! Wink But I think they only intend that in Crypto.

and will that mean all users have to use CEXs as crypto wallet (any casual wallet) or what?
Maybe they will think about issuing such a law later, i.e. forcing all citizens to use CEXs and pass the KYC, but they will also fail because it is impossible to track all citizens to know whether they have a dishonest wallet or not.

Something tells me that it all goes to a dystopian end which is no different from Chinese CBDC. Any transactions moving out from a private BTC wallet will be traced and if it goes to a centralized platform, that's when it gets seized for questioning.
This is the worst scenario that I fear will happen, they will take complete control of the central exchanges and confiscate any anonymous transaction under the pretext that it may be stolen money.

During the bill’s review phase, the House of Lords agreed on certain amendments to clarify its intent of targeting monetary proceeds from fraud or other financial crimes.

A bill that aims to expand the ability of authorities in the United Kindom to target illicit cryptocurrency usage has been pushed to the final stages for approval by the House of Lords.

The Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Bill was introduced in September 2022 and primarily aims to tackle crypto-related financial crimes. Over the past year, the bill went from the House of Commons to the House of Lords and is now in the final stages of approval.

During the review, the House of Lords agreed on certain amendments to clarify its intent of targeting monetary proceeds from fraud or other financial crimes. In addition, the bill also aims to set provisions for corporate transparency and overseas business registrations.

At the final stage, the House of Commons will either decide to accept the proposed amendments or recommend changes to the bill. Following the approval, the bill will be signed into law through royal assent, a method by which a monarch formally approves an act of the legislature.

Let's discuss the potential negatives and positives of this law:

On the positive side, the law targeting stolen cryptocurrencies will help track cryptocurrencies stolen from central exchanges and return them to their owners. As we hear now, the value of the amounts stolen from CoinEX has reached more than $70 million. Such a law will be very useful in such cases.

As for the negative aspects, I fear that the law will be abused to impose more stringent measures and violate users’ privacy.

what do you think?

I expect you captured the screen on the first page before the page refreshed and when you moved to the next page the time became refreshed and that's it.

This is not a technical problem. This may happen sometimes due to the page not being refreshed or an error in the timing of the computer or mobile.

Most of the time I leave the forum page open in the browser and close the computer and when I later turn on the browser the old page appears with the previous time when I close. I have to refresh the page to get the correct updated page.
826  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Meet AssetX - The future of asset markets 💸 on: September 20, 2023, 09:44:44 AM
Tokenized Assets: AssetX allows you to own fractions of high-value assets through tokenization. This means you can invest in real estate, fine art, rare collectibles, and more without the need for large capital outlays.
The idea seems new and somewhat reasonable to me, but the biggest challenge is gaining trust. You have to gain trust first so that you can convince investors to buy those tokenized assets and hold them in a central platform. But my question is, how is this different from an NFT? Can you explain to me the difference between tokenized assets and NFT?

Nowadays, tokenization is becoming popular again. The platforms you see today are all about turning different types of things into digital assets. Our platform is an exchange, so with all these others popping up, the world will need a reliable place to trade them. I want to bring all these different platforms together in one central place. This will make more assets available and trading easier.
You will not find many people who encourage centralization here, especially after the successive incidents of collapse, hacking, or fraud of centralized platforms, so we go back to saying again that the first challenge lies in gaining trust, so if you can turn it into a decentralized platform so that the tokenized assets remain in the users’ wallets to keep them safe. It may be more popular.
on: September 20, 2023, 02:31:07 AM

828  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Do I Verify the Integrity of Open-Source Code on: September 19, 2023, 05:11:32 PM
I don't think it's really that important, I'd argue that if you're going to buy a wallet with codebase that could easily be edited it's much better to just buy a wallet from a provider or use your hard disk instead. Cause you're putting yourself at a bigger risk of losing your money to bad actors and hackers. Plus when it comes to "open-source" you can't really do much to verify it besides take the developer's word for it. There's no way for the consumer to confirm whether a program is an open-source until they actually work upon said program.

Don't worry about the trivial details anymore, just make sure you buy a self-custodial wallet and for the most part of your crypto journey, that's going to be enough.
These are not trivial details, on the contrary they are extremely important, this relates directly to the security of your assets and any small mistake can cost you the loss of all your crypto assets.

Buying a self-custodial wallet is not enough. If you mean hard wallets, they also have programs, some of which are closed source and some of which are open source. As for closed source wallets like Ledger, they cannot be trusted, especially after it became clear that the company has access to the seed.

As for wallets that use open source software such as Trezor, we return to the same problem, which is how to make sure that we are downloading the correct software and not the wrong one, because if you download the wrong software, you will lose all your assets.
829  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't Just HODL But HODL Wisely and Securely on: September 19, 2023, 04:51:11 PM
Very true, before you think about holding, you should think about how to protect your assets well. This is one of the most important things that everyone must learn, whether experts or beginners, as asset security is considered the most important thing.

For me, I do not use any unknown wallet applications on Android or IOS. I only use the old, famous wallets that have become absolutely reliable through their secure use for many years.

It is not enough for the wallet to be open source for it to be secure, nor are all users experts in programming and code reading to read the open source and ensure that it is free of security vulnerabilities.
830  Local / منصات التبادل / Re: Coinex تهكير منصة on: September 19, 2023, 04:05:59 PM

831  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitcoin Marks 8th Anniversary of US Commodity Status on: September 19, 2023, 10:43:49 AM
Yes, arguably the two most important milestones in Bitcoin's short history are the ATH of $67,567. Another thing is the recognition of Bitcoin as a financial asset by US regulators.

Although I remember that an American judge ruled that Bitcoin is considered a form of money, however, Bitcoin is considered a more regulated commodity than a currency or investment, in addition to the fact that the volatility of Bitcoin makes room for futures trading.

Because futures markets allow investors to speculate without having to hold the underlying asset, Bitcoin has attracted the attention of large institutions and this has helped to position Bitcoin more as a commodity than anything else.
832  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Do we get the completed posts payment. on: September 19, 2023, 05:22:11 AM
In the first place, I do not see any problem with posting in the forum without receiving payment. Suppose you are not participating in any campaign, will you stop writing in the forum until you get a new campaign?

In addition to everything mentioned above, this relates to the minimum posts in the terms of the campaign. If there is no minimum posts you must complete the week to receive payment. If there is a minimum, you must achieve the minimum and then tell the campaign manager in the thread that you want Leave the campaign until he can do his job to the fullest.

Coinex:

Quote

834  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will reach all-time-high before halving. - BitQuant on: September 18, 2023, 10:35:18 AM
I also don't think so, it is unlikely that we will see Bitcoin at all-time highs before halving.

This has not happened before, and I do not think it will happen now. According to Bitcoin’s historical cycles, the ATH is always after the halving and not before it. I don't know where BitQuant got this analysis from but it's unlikely.

Although I say that it does not necessarily happen what is expected, it often happens that the opposite of the majority’s expectations occurs, when everyone expects a rise, there is a fall and the opposite is also true, but in the end we have become very close to halving. Let us wait and see.
835  Economy / Economics / Re: Tim Gurner wants Unemployment to increase. Employers have lost their power. on: September 18, 2023, 09:19:24 AM
I am confident that he has received enough obscene insults and curses, so I will not say more. This man is an example of a tyrannical authoritarian who wishes for the return of the eras of slavery that humanity got rid of after great suffering and sacrifices.

Such tyrannical aristocrats do not feel the extent of the need for people to work, especially via the Internet, to secure their monthly expenses. They smell of tyrannical power and hatred, and they hate Bitcoin and even the Internet, which has given people the opportunity to work from home and earn more.

I think he needs a lesson in politics before economics, because politicians in every country brag to voters that they are seeking to eliminate unemployment, and this idiot is spouting this nonsense about the necessity of increasing unemployment.
836  Other / Meta / Re: Without merit... on: September 18, 2023, 04:36:11 AM
This scale is not accurate. There are some high-quality posts that did not receive merit for an unknown reason, and on the other hand, there are low-quality posts that received merit for one reason or another.

The quality of posts depends on the personal perspective of the members. There are those who evaluate the post as being of high quality and worthy of merit, while others do not see it as such. Everyone is free to have his or her point of view, and it is difficult for everyone to agree on one opinion.

But in general, regardless of merit, the quality of a post can be evaluated through the useful or new information it presents in a simple and understandable way for everyone, and taking into account the placement of relevant links, sources, or images if necessary.
837  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Not banned, yet not accepted on: September 18, 2023, 02:38:31 AM
Governments can enforce bans on all cryptocurrency transactions through local banks but of course they cannot effectively ban citizens from using Bitcoin outside of banks.

Due to the decentralized and anonymous nature of Bitcoin, it is difficult for the government to track transactions that are not subject to third-party services and KYC terms. There are many transactions that take place through decentralized services or P2P, far from government oversight.

The government wants all financial transactions to be under control and oversight, so it bans Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, while many people want to maintain the privacy of their financial transactions, so they will continue to use Bitcoin despite the ban, even in countries that have strict ban laws.
838  Local / منصات التبادل / Re: Coinex تهكير منصة on: September 17, 2023, 04:40:27 PM

For example, adding an image to a post is one of the simplest things. However, it is not available and you need to install a tool to place the image in the post or use an external link.
What tool are you referring to?
upload images tool. Using this tool, you can add images to the post immediately without the need for an external link, but you first need to create an account on the image hosting website https://www.talkimg.com/

You must first add the script for the tool. The image upload tool was created by member TryNinja in this thread:
