821  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should mentally unstable people be allowed to gamble? on: December 25, 2023, 10:32:06 AM
Recently I was around a physical bet shop close to my area and I observed a man who was shabbily dressed walking in the gambling house. I got into the place to observe what his intentions were. He walked straight to the gaming attendant, placed his bets in a highly coordinated manner and quietly walked out of the physical gambling house. From the way he was well organized, you will never know that he was mentally unsound apart from his dirty clothes and unkept hair and beard.

When I inquired from the attendant, she said he was a regular customer and that he usually raised money for gambling through the manual jobs he does around the area. She also told me that he has never misbehaved and acted violently in the gambling house so she was comfortable with him.

My question now is are there any moral, ethical or legal obligation to bar a person from gambling after physically observing that he is mentally unstable?

That's discrimination the attendant already said that he never misbehaved or caused any trouble so he has the privilege to play unless that physical casino has a rule barring people with unusual behavior from staying on their premises but then again they have to check the background and examine the person because looks can be deceiving.
When it comes online, there's nothing in their terms that will tell gamblers to submit their mental or health condition, it's up to gamblers to examine themselves if they are fit to play online, when it comes to gambling it's always been played at your own risk.
Yes, gambling is a great source of entertainment but it can also become a source of mental anguish, so examine yourself if you can take all the risk in gambling.
822  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Know when to ride and stop! on: December 25, 2023, 02:24:48 AM

Don’t increase your bet when you are losing because it will just amplify your loss immediately once you are in bad streak. Always test the water before you increase your bet.  Wink

Sharing my recent juicy win using small bankroll below! At first I’m hesitant to ride but it takes courage to increase bet slowly especially if you have small bankroll.

This is mindful betting don't use the auto feature and follow and be noticeable on every bet and the pattern you have to start low and just add or change settings when you think it's not working in your favor, it takes a lot of discipline I able to do this, it's a slow process but sometimes bad luck ruin everything so it's better than when you experience a winning run and on profit, to take a rest an hour or two of rest will do wonder.
It may not be an exciting strategy because it lacks the thrill of taking a chance and hoping for the best but at least you maintain your bankroll and you are happy with the thought that you are betting the house with your method.
823  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Between Physical and Online Gambling which makes a person more addicted on: December 24, 2023, 03:41:29 PM
I have been wondering with a little doubt in me between Physical and Online Gambling which makes a person prone to being addicted cause I have this friend of mine who doesn't know how to gamble online but when it comes to physical gambling he does it without compromising any of the consequences before hands.

Now it has made every little discussion that leads to argument an avenue to gamble, always ready to stake huge amount just to prove himself right. I consider this being addiction and I am always advising him to drop this lifestyle.

Do you think Online Gambling has the worst potential of making a person addicted?

This is why there are a lot of online casinos vying to have a piece of the market, the operators that there's a big shift going on, they are shifting from physical casinos to online casinos, it's easy to get addicted to gambling when you first play here, and even if you're playing in a physical casinos you have to schedule your visit because of the hours of commuting, compared to online where you just open your cellphone or laptop and you can play right away.
People can hide their gambling activity, they will not feel guilty, and they don't have to justify their gambling activities because they are away from the prying eyes and judgment of other people.
That's one of the lures of playing online you are on your own, you do not have to explain to people and people will have no idea that you are into gambling, sensitive people prefer online casinos because they hate criticism, which they surely get if they are playing in a platform that will expose them.
824  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Features of the worldview of a gambler on: December 24, 2023, 01:20:20 PM

I have repeatedly encountered the fact that the very concept of risk management is either unfamiliar to them or they do not attach enough serious importance to it.
I would highlight the following features:
1. Pathological optimism.
2. Lack of risk management.
3. The desire to understand some fundamental issues of the game (they talked about this themselves in interviews)
4. Love for the game process itself.
What do you think are the features of the worldview of a gambler?
Everything you mentioned goes down to one thing they have activated dopamine that's the whole summary they just want to put logic on what they feel about gambling but it's all about the activity in the brain that releases dopamine

Quote
When we have a gambling win, the brain releases a feel-good chemical called dopamine.

But when we gamble often, our brain gets used to the dopamine, which makes that winning feeling difficult to achieve. Consequently, we may have to gamble more and more to feel the same level of pleasure.
https://gamblershelp.com.au/learn-about-gambling/gambling-and-how-it-affects-the-brain/

All gamblers gamble with their emotions, they feel the roller coaster of everything, something they don't feel in other things that they do only in gambling,
when gamblers gamble they feel alive, they feel all the emotions, like excitement when they are chasing a loss, sadness when they are in the verge of losing everything, and satisfaction when they win a big amount.
Gamblers can give various reasons why they gamble but everything really depends on dopamine.
825  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wilder Vs Parker & Joshua Vs Wallin Boxing Mega Saudi card 23rd December on: December 24, 2023, 12:23:07 AM
Here is the recap of this big event

Anthony Joshua def. Otto Wallin via fifth-round KO

Joseph Parker def. Deontay Wilder via unanimous decision

Dmitry Bivol def. Lyndon Arthur via unanimous decision (120-107 x3)

Daniel Dubois def. Jarrell Miller via 10th-round TKO (2:52)

Agit Kabayel def. Arslanbek Makhmudov via fourth-round TKO (2:03)

Filip Hrgovic def. Mark De Mori via first-round TKO (1:46)

Frank Sanchez def. Junior Fa via seventh-round TKO (2:42)

Unfortunately, Wilder could not deliver, he was looking to land that huge right but unfortunately, Parker's defense did not allow him, Joshua - Wilder is now hanging in the balance because of this, maybe a Fury - Joshua is more realistic if Fury beats Usyk in their coming fight I wonder where will Wilder after this fight he will have a hard time climbing into the top rank because of this huge upset.

827  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - December 26 on: December 23, 2023, 03:26:52 PM

It doesn't matter if it will end in few rounds as long as the quality of the fight is very entertaining. Besides, that's what we came for, we cheer on the fighter we re leaning but we always expect a fight that would satisfy us, especially for those who pay for the price of subscription or venue tickets.

It's Inoue's fight so it's going to be entertaining, Inoue doesn't have a single boring fight, it always ends up with his opponents getting knocked out, I have seen both fighters' highlights, workouts, and training but however I looked at it Inoue still has an edge, I don't rule out an upset but Inoue is always hungry and he shows consistency on his performance I hope Tapales can surpass Donaire's performance in their first meeting where Donaire just loss by a decision.
If Tapales happens to upset Inoue, this will be a huge upset and one for the record.
But Inoue is just too good in his training and sparring he deserves his name the Monster because even in his training he is a monster.
828  Economy / Gambling / Re: What do you want to see in casino reviews? on: December 23, 2023, 02:11:37 PM

1. Do you read casino reviews?
Yes, when checking a newly launched casino here in Bitcointalk that has existed for many months the community will have a glimpse on how the casino performs based on the reviews before they play on the platform.

Quote
2. Do you find any casino reviews useful? If so, please share some examples of good casino reviews that you find useful.
Yes but I have to respect your post and not drop link reviews coming from other casino review sites

Quote
3. What should a casino review contain to make you read it?
The review should explore all areas of the casinos especially the terms of service and the deposit and withdrawal features of the casinos and the reviewer should play as many games as possible.
Transparency is very important and should always take the side of the gambling community more than the interest of the casino.

829  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does casino streamers have influence in your gambling life? on: December 23, 2023, 12:28:41 PM

I just smiled but I want to ask, how many of you are creates interests on a particular casino platform due to th influence of the casinos steamers?

I used to admire and watched these casino streamers they are fun and very entertaining to watch, they are very convincing and will draw you in the casino that they are promoting, but after reading about many negative things about streamers on how they do sponsor money, I became doubtful on their reviews, I prefer to trust casino review sites they are more lenient on the gambling community, they give a more honest reviews and than casino streamers.
Casino streamers are limited on what they show on their stream than casino reviewers, where they explore everything about the casino and give casino fair rating on their score, because their reputation lies on the trust given to them by the gambling community.
830  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk mixer ban, Altcointalk is active in that scope. on: December 22, 2023, 04:45:05 PM

Who knows, it could be temporary. I honestly think it's pretty likely that they will start considering following bitcointalk's steps if they get into authorities' radar-- you know, like being mentioned on their website or something.

I'm pretty sure that the Altcointalk admins are very much aware of what's happening here they clearly stated their stand that they will welcome mixers promotion in their forum, this is a welcome development for the mixing industry and for posters, they could only follow Bitcointalk's stance if there at least two or three mixers that become notorious as money launderers so far all the mixing that's going to make a campaign there next year are all doing good and there are no big issues like what happen to Sinbad.
We never know if Altcointalks become the marketing platform of mixers, we'll know that in the first 5 months.
831  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which type of gambling have more gambling addicts ? on: December 22, 2023, 03:33:38 PM

Now are days I see much or all this in house gamblers becoming addicted and acting weird over gambling results, and walking down into some betting shop, you will see most of those gamblers spending their whole day in the gambling shop, which made me have the above question. I know any form of gambling can produce gambling addicts, but among all, there is one that is most common, which is what I want to hear from others.

Online casinos are the runaway winners for a platform with the most number of users and probably gambling addicts, you can play it anywhere, anytime and the people around do not know that you are playing online, online casinos make billions of profits because they cater to all walks of life, compared to physical casinos where they targeted specific people mostly rich players and compared with the number of online casinos compared to physical casinos there is a wide gap in numbers.
One of the things that attract online casinos is the number of games and how you can bet even with a small amount and you are completely anonymous, online casinos can give gamblers everything they need to continue playing on their platform, name it and online casinos have everything.

The press conference is just getting started guys -

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NK24-TGnky8

It’ll be interesting to see how Joshua & Wilder conduct themselves. They have both already hinted towards a potential fight in the future, if they both win on Saturday.

sportsbet.io odds - https://sportsbet.io/sports/boxing/matches/future

All the matchups are worth watching this is indeed a mega-fight no championship belts are on the line for the Heavyweight but this is a crucial fights for every participant in mega-fights one interesting matchup that caught my attention is the Dubois - Miller matchup, the faceoff is very intense and the roasting is very funny I'm sure this too will go at it I have this feeling that this is the most exciting match that will produce a lot of action because both fighters are almost equal in their style and power.

I'm also hoping Wilder and Joshua win so they can finally meet after years of unfruitful negotiation.

Daniel Dubois doesn't BACK DOWN from Jarrell Miller in TENSE face off at final presser

833  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do casino owners benefit from creating multiple casinos? on: December 22, 2023, 12:17:22 PM
I have noticed that there are multiple casinos in the crypto space owned by the same person or company. I am curious about the reasons behind creating additional casinos when there is already a running and profitable one.

It is industry practice and can be done in any industry, especially in the gambling industry, we all know gamblers are experimental they want to see new interfaces and new games and explore their luck on other platforms and they can easily trust other casinos with association with casinos that they've already played and trusted, there are advantages and disadvantages but the advantages outweigh the disadvantages if the casino can build their brand and their reputation and the disadvantage is if one losses its reputation the other one will also lose its reputation.

Quote
How does this practice contribute to their business? It seems illogical as it might increase operating expenses without an obvious benefit.
They can easily make a quick profit once they are up and running because the new casino all has to do is connect to the existing one, it will partake the trust reputation and brand of the existing one, making the new casino's operation smooth.

834  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hard Rock to Hire 400 People Ahead of Rockford Casino Opening on: December 21, 2023, 03:44:18 PM
What do you think? Would you like to register?
If you enjoy gambling and don't have a steady employment, this is a good place for you. or perhaps you currently hold a job, but consider this Hard Rock opportunity.
With manager pay of over $70,000 and supervisor wages of over $50,000 annually, the compensation package is very alluring. and a starting wage of $18 per hour for certain other positions.

Of course, they are not going to offer that salary without the needed requirement for them to work in a big company like Hardrock the $70k salary is for those who have extensive experience as a manager and supervisor in physical casinos, it is a good move for Hardrock they are a popular brand in the entertainment industry so people will easily trust a company like HardRock.
This is one of the good things about opening a physical casino, many jobs are going to be available and many new industries will link up like the music and restaurant industries, they can open a space within the area, and physical casinos generate jobs and strengthen tourism.

836  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bitsler witheld my money for 7 days, with no explanation what so ever on: December 21, 2023, 01:59:52 PM
If the allegations you mentioned in this post against Bitsler are true.  So I would say instead of creating a topic here, create a topic with evidence on the Scam Accusations board. As I am seeing that you haven't mention any prove of your allegation yet.  Undecided

The user received his withdrawal, so no scam has technically occurred. Instead, he has made a complaint here (and rightfully so) to warn others.

"Wait 7 days =)" is a totally unacceptable response. Obviously the representative was confident that the user would get his withdrawal, though that is still not acceptable. If a casino is holding a withdrawal, stating why the withdrawal is being held is required.

Then the being banned from discord. Highly suspicious behaviour.

Thankfully the user got his withdrawal in the end.

I understand why he is sharing his experience now because it will not feel good if you get banned from asking a legit question and made to wait for 7 days without an explanation they have very bad support if they cannot explain the user status, OP think its injustice that he got this treatment since he is not breaking any rules.
It's better for Bitsler to either refute this or offer an apology because this will reflect on how they address their clients, I'm sure OP is looking for a new site to play.
837  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Michael Jordan a gambling addict ? on: December 21, 2023, 11:38:11 AM
I was recently arguing with someone whom stated that MJ is a gambling addict, and I pushed back.  I think we could probably all agree that being addicted to anything is never good, no matter what it is.  Michael is famous for being a big gambler.  However, it's not like that's the only thing he does in life.  He's a billionaire with many companies and countless things to do each day. Gambling doesn't effect those important things in life.

He takes care of his family, far from broke and gambling brings him entertainment.. so my question, would MJ be considered an addict?  I argue he's not.  He just loves to do it, but any negative effects may be literally zero ..

Every definition of gambling addiction applies to Jordan's behavior it's not a competitive behavior that he claims he poses in his character it is more of the urge to prove that he can excel in gambling while others accumulate losses, from his early days to his high school days while playing in the NBA and after he has done playing in the NBA he still has it and until base don the account of people around him he still does, its just his enormous earnings from endorsement and his business ventures that keep him go beyond zero in his gambling adventures.
Only time can tell if he can keep up or if he will find a way to cure himself of his addiction.

Quote
Though Jordan claimed he could stop gambling, there is no public evidence suggesting that he ever did. In fairness, he never needed to. His career flourished despite everything that happened in the time leading up to his first retirement, and he is so wealthy through his basketball and endorsement earnings that he could never realistically lose it all betting. Whether he ever truly had a problem is ultimately irrelevant. Even if he did, it was just a speed bump. Jordan's rise to the top of the basketball world was hardly interrupted, and as a result, he could enjoy his hobby unimpeded.

838  Economy / Gambling / Re: Welcome to 8ombard.com on: December 20, 2023, 04:02:45 PM

Hi Shamm,

Thank you for your kind words! We are very excited to see where this takes us!

If you get a chance, please have a look at our site!

We would love to hear your thoughts.

After you've launched your platform it's better to hire a reputable manager here who will manage a review campaign for your platform, A review campaign is good for a casino with a unique concept, you can do this before launching a signature campaign.
The review campaign is an innovative marketing campaign as the platform can easily get a good rating and the administrator of the platform will know exactly what's missing in their platform to make it competitive because the reviews are in-depth and the reviewers will dig deep and explore the platform to give the owner additional suggestion on how to improve the platform.
You should check the service section and see some casinos that launched review campaigns, all of these casinos gained good feedback from the community.
839  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Teofimo Lopez Vs. Jamaine Ortiz WBO Welterweight Title February 8 on: December 20, 2023, 03:36:39 PM
Lopez may be a favorite in this fight but Ortiz can deliver a huge upset if Lopez comes out easy in this fight like he did against Sandor Martin, Ortiz has matured after his fight against Loma.
Lopez has a history of undermining his opponents he has done this two times already against Kambosos and then against Sandor and Ortiz is a better fighter than Sandor if we are talking about fight comparison with Lomachenko.
Lopez when he fought Loma, Loma had a shoulder injury, while Ortiz when he fought Loma was 100% in perfect condition, so the comparison will not add up.
840  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's your view on this? Is it fun or addiction? on: December 20, 2023, 12:38:56 PM

Do you see this as addiction or just catching of fun?

Mind you, we just enjoy the moment and might just joke around with people making predictions based on the teams,  they love but we are mostly gamblers at our different ends.

As long as you are all playing with money that you can afford to lose, I don't see any issues at all, there are many groups of friends and groups of workers doing this to relieve the stress of the work some groups are also doing that and besides there's no money involved but data subscriptions, it creates camaraderie among the group, I don't think it borders to addiction.

Addiction is when you play almost every day with different groups or alone with the hope of making money and spending money just to recoup your past losses. but if you are not gambling except with your group friends and you are all having fun without spending more but only on the agreed bet it's a safe form of gambling.
