821  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Darkcoin aka DASH - The biggest ongoing SCAM in crypto on: December 16, 2015, 11:57:52 AM
Storm in the sandbox again Smiley. There are only two important questions about any coin:
Can we trade it?
Can we make profit on it (preferably in BTC)?
If the answer is "yes" for both questions nobody will care about the rest.

BTW trolling each other not going to improve the reputation of any of the participants. Actually in this community Monero is noted much more because of it's aggressive fanclub than because of its features. Perhaps this isn't the best marketing strategy.

822  Economy / Gambling / Re: Can gambling sites deduct amounts in my account? on: December 16, 2015, 10:03:46 AM
Of course they can. If you exploit a bug on the site then they might "tidy up" your account, but (generally speaking) manipulating user balances isn't a common procedure.
823  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] do you take anything out of Spoetnik mouth serious? on: December 15, 2015, 04:15:20 PM
Yes, I do. He used to have a point, and he also used to have proof. That's enough for me.
824  Economy / Gambling / Re: Is it profitable to run a dice gambling site? on: December 15, 2015, 02:52:58 PM
Putting together yet another dice site isn't a recipe for success. You will need to spend a lot on hosting, bankroll, marketing, giveaways (faucet), and support, before you see any profit. Gaining a good reputation and building a big user base can take months or even years. Maybe buying an already working site or buying a part of it would be a better option.
825  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting on sport = gambling? on: December 15, 2015, 02:43:34 PM
Betting on sports is not really about luck. It's more like making (more or less) educated guesses, according to some sort of statistics. So I wouldn't call it gambling.
826  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The NXT Marketing Committee Is a Joke on: December 15, 2015, 12:06:31 PM
Hm but they already found the higgs boson ^^

<off>
No, not yet. The CERN guys 99% sure, but according to them they still need to do some more tests to make it 100% sure. These test were scheduled after the LHC upgrade (they finished that upgrade in 2015 July).

827  Economy / Gambling / Re: How can casinos profit from investments? on: December 14, 2015, 04:32:24 PM
I know investing in a casino will bring the investor profit in the long term, meaning that the casino will actually lose money in the long term so why are they doing it? What is the benefit they get from it?

The casino isn't losing money as they get a flow of money into their bankroll, what they might be unable to invest themselves. In addition bigger bankroll means more safety for the casino, more customer confidence, and ability to allow higher stakes. More customer confidence and higher stakes means more players and more money gambled, therefore more house edge.
828  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Was World War II a Hoax? on: December 14, 2015, 03:46:37 PM
According to my grandparents and other old relatives the demolition wasn't really controlled and both the germans and the russians seemed to be pretty real.
829  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do you believe in your shitty religion? on: December 14, 2015, 01:51:34 PM
Even those fairy tales are more consistent and well-tried than the ever changing "moral values" what liberals and leftists propagating Smiley. BTW if scammers and psychopaths don't like it than it must be a good thing Wink.
Well, it's all about power. Not about "values". Values wont get you any money, nor will pay your bills Smiley

Perhaps not much people want to live in a world where the "always the stronger dog will eat" is the only rule. Power without moral obligations and ethics not going to end well.
830  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The NXT Marketing Committee Is a Joke on: December 14, 2015, 01:36:19 PM
...

I agree, NXT marketing looks something like a Higgs bozon. Everybody heard about it, theoretically it exists, there are even measurements and interactions what strongly indicates the presence of "NXT marketing", but nobody really seen it.

His assessment is good in these days, and at least he's not trying to persuade noobs to jump into something what isn't really profitable today, so what's your problem with this part. BTW if he would try to convince that noob, probably you would be one of the first to open a topic with lots of color=red, size=100pt about how shamelessly he tried to scam gullible people Smiley.

That's why we need to figure out how to make a secular society that values morals & virtues. Most of the educated/experienced atheists I have communicated with do this, but there isn't a really good or popular example for the neophytes to get into this mode of thinking like there is for religious newbies.

We need a new great philosophy of the modern age that's backed up with examples and science. We can explain how ants that sacrifice themselves in battle benefit not only the colony, but their own DNA in the long run - and there are examples of "morality" in other animals that have no known religions. If this could be explained thoroughly and convincingly then there may be a chance for a secular society that has guiding principals other than simple hedonism and greed.

Perhaps you might want to hand over ten commandments to them for a start Smiley. Of course you will need to adjust the first three.
832  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Ban Donald Trump on: December 14, 2015, 12:18:06 PM
If Western countries want multiculturalism, then why can't they accept migrants from countries such as Ukraine, Moldova, Greece and Armenia? Do you know how difficult it is for anyone from these countries (with the exception of Greece) to immigrate to the EU? Most of the people in these countries are highly educated, and they are civilized and friendly. On the other hand, the vast majority of the unwashed hordes from Pakistan and Eritrea are illiterate and prone to criminal behavior.

If our bosses want to replace whites with some mixed race population then why should they bring more whites in? Even worse, whites who can still think, rarely PC enough, and prone to a rather conservative behaviour. That would set back their project with decades.

834  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Saudi Billionaire Prince Demands Donald Trump Exit 2016 Race on: December 14, 2015, 11:38:27 AM
I'm just wondering why a saudi bloke believes that he have a say in that who can run for presidency in the US?

Why does everyone abroad think to have a say about the election of the US president?!
I wonder why nobody asks such a question when the US officials are pretending to have a voice on russian presidential elections. For hypocrites it's time to taste their own medicine.

US officials complaining because the people not elected their henchman is a quite common thing, we got used to that, and apart from a few liberal journalists and opposition politicians nobody cares. (BTW they are still the puppies of our own dog.) On the contrary, none of those goatlovin' tuskens are one of my cousins or other relatives who went overseas in the past 200 years Smiley.
835  Economy / Speculation / Re: The scam is so bloody obvious. on: December 14, 2015, 11:07:23 AM
Don't know many scams that have been nominated for a Nobel Prize, or a Turing Award. But hell, what would those bodies know.

Well, what about Obama and his Nobel piece prize? ...however I think bitcoin will be still trusted and valuable after 8 years  Wink.
836  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So...bitcoin is now a national currency on: December 14, 2015, 10:46:29 AM
So this small island off of Portugal, Principality of the Pontinha, has been a sovereign nation by royal decree since the 1400s. It has been handed down and changed hands a few times. The current leader has decreed that bitcoin is the nation's official currency.

This could literally kick off a lot of things. Bitcoin would officially become a foreign currency for all nations.

Equador, which is the only country to actually pass a law banning Bitcoin (which the law only banned Bitcoin from running on its banking network) had a stipulation that it would be recognized if it became a national currency. So by passing such a law...they may have potentially forced themselves to recognize bitcoin as an official currency.

I wonder how US will deal with considering Bitcoin a commodity when it is officially a foreign currency as well.

http://www.newsbtc.com/2015/12/13/bitcoin-atlantis-currency/

Gold and silver (islamic dinar and dirham) are both recognized official currency in Indonesia and in parts of Malaysia, (and on IS territories) but it still considered as commodity almost everywhere else. One swallow doesn't make a summer. Especially such a little swallow as Pontinha
.
837  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Iraqi Forces Advance in Campaign to Retake Ramadi From ISIS on: December 14, 2015, 10:20:36 AM
Something like the Nurenburg trials seems warranted for ISIS.  For every single last one of them.

Let that play on the media for five years.

That's not good enough. The liberals and leftists will be happy to save as much of these blokes as they can or give them some ridiculous prison sentences, so in a few years they would be back and in the meantime other terrorists would kidnap/kill people to free these guys. To get rid of them once and for all maybe not that nice and civilised, but much more effective. Here in the west we kept playing this "be PC, nice and civilised" game way too long.

839  Other / Archival / Re: $1000 by 1q 2016? on: December 10, 2015, 09:15:01 PM
Everything possible, but $1000 in Q1 seems to be unlikely. Call me bearish if you want but I would be happy with $500-600 Smiley.
840  Economy / Economics / Re: What if US Dollar Crashes? on: December 10, 2015, 09:12:36 PM
If USD crashes then the BTC price will be our least concern I'm afraid. Probably we'll be busy with trying to find a job and with queuing for food :/.
