846  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How did SilkRoad actually work? on: October 07, 2013, 07:54:15 PM
I think the court documents explained it pretty well.

Court documents actually point out how it worked? so far from what I read its an overview.
847  Economy / Service Discussion / How did SilkRoad actually work? on: October 07, 2013, 07:45:37 PM
I never used it.

Did you send BTC to your account and this is how the guy made a commission?

Nobody, has ever explained how it actually functions.
848  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you like bitcoin, what's your reason? on: October 07, 2013, 06:12:59 PM
There is TONS of reasons why bitcoin is so great but most of all: Freedom

This is it ^^ I mean put a price on Freedom!
849  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SilkRoad domain Seized? on: October 02, 2013, 08:46:25 PM
It's appalling to post that you think murder is an acceptable form of justice!. One of the very worst things about Bitcoin is the lunatic fringe it has attracted, no thanks to SR. I hope now it's gone people like you will leave our community and never come back.

The fact that some idiot thinks I'm "authoritarian" for merely being unsurprised at Ulbricht's true nature just shows how deluded some people really were. You didn't have to be a genius to see that he might be dangerous.

Yes, it might turn out that the entire set of conversations were a total fiction pulled out of some law enforcers arse. In that case I will take back these words. But somehow I doubt it. Parallel construction is not the same thing as simply inventing non-existent documents out of thin air.
+1   - I think its safe to say that some people who use "drugs" probably don't think straight when it comes to common sense decisions. It isn't a coincidence that most "drug related" incidents was caused by such an obvious error that baffles the minds of people who see it.

Just a suggestion - someone with some BTCTalk credibility should set one up - I'll edit this post with details when it's done.

Done.

851  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dread Pirate Roberts (silk road) arrest warrant on: October 02, 2013, 07:51:08 PM
How does arresting DPR reveal the identities of the sellers on SR? They should be safe.
Only thing that will change for them is that they will start selling on BMR instead of SR.

Btw: To reduce his lifetime sentence I'm sure he'll rat outs out some Silk Road sellers. Yes?

In an ideal situation, he shouldn't know who the sellers are

Yes, but he knows each one to help in case he ever got caught.  If I was him I would know everything about everyone in order to protect myself.

Apparently SR was hosted out of San Francisco?  Seems like an amateur move, maybe it will reopen with new hosting somewhere where the DoJ doesn't have supreme authority.

Posting interviews on YouTube probably doesn't help:

855  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SilkRoad domain Seized? on: October 02, 2013, 05:57:07 PM
Truly pathetic, if you think about it. BTC price was held up by addicts and perverts of SR.

It is a sad fact I am watching right now.

I have to agree that is fairly pathetic.

Or just uploading it really fast to Youtube?

Yes, even this would be good also. I'm willing to pay some BTC to someone who does.
