841  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin - very currency many coin - v1.8 Required Update on: September 09, 2014, 02:07:02 PM
Are you sure Doge admin is not on hawaii and isn't laughing us after reading this topic? Trade volume is near zero.

There is no admin in Doge, what are you talking about? )

Nxtty iOS CRYPTOmessenger implementation is now 100% complete. It's really fast same as sending a normal un-encrypted message.  The speed is went beyond my expectations.

Unleash the fury to the market! Cheesy

Staying in FIAT may be more risky actually.
844  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Wow Doge is exploding right now on: September 09, 2014, 10:42:41 AM
People shouldn't see Doge as an investement. Bitcoin is an investment.

It's a funny statement. Both Bitcoin and Doge are exactly the same minus a few technical differences of no importance. Both have an equal chance of being thought of as investment.
845  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin - very currency many coin - v1.8 Required Update on: September 09, 2014, 07:31:44 AM
What do you expect for Dogecoin? Yes you are right, mining is close to over but the volume of trade is very low. for example in Bter now is 2 days without any up/down.

Should I get out of Dogecoin?

Stage 1 of crypto currencies when the success was measured in volume of speculative trade only is close to over.
We're now facing Stage 2, when communities start to develop economies around their cryptos of choice.

Only 3 communities are more or less successful at this stage:
1) Bitcoin, which has the first mover advantage and a large network effect, its economy is the largest of course, unfortunately that also could mean that the time of big price rises is over, only gradual price rises are possible, as a lot of people are already involved and the potential is already priced in.
2) Dogecoin and 3) NXT - these two look set to reach their goals in building strong economies around themselves judging by their efforts, but both are naturally behind Bitcoin at this point, both are undervalued.
I don't see any other coin that is close.

Whether you should get out of Dogecoin depends on why you got in in the first place.

let's forge     Wink
Yeah I want to but my wallet is constantly having more and more problems as time passes by, instead of the contrary happening. We also have less nodes active so the blockchain takes a good awhile to be downloaded more and more too. The same must be happening to others and they feel not motivated to do it. I assume when we have higher price and stable wallet we hardly will have less than 25% stake forging.

It's a chicken and egg problem. More nodes are not set up, because the price is low and there is no incentive to set up nodes. The price is low because investors and prospective users don't set up nodes and don't grow the network and community. Make a bounty of at least 10k qora/week, that would at least cover hosting expenses. If the price goes higher, you can always lower the weekly payout.
847  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SuperNET - ICO conducted by BTER + ... on: September 09, 2014, 05:59:00 AM
Why users can not sell? These sell orders that how it happened?

Why don't you read before posting?

some people have asked for the ability to sell back the TOKEN, maybe due to needing the funds for some urgent purpose.
It is now possible to sell at 5% below the official price
This allowing of sales has cause many problems, but I feel it is worth the troubles so that anyone can cashout if they need the cashflow.

If they can just wait until the close of fundraising, there will be a nice big buywall at NAV to provide price support

DOGE will hit the LTC market cap within next year. This will happen due LTC falling and DOGE gaining its strenght.

The tone of this thread tends to change when the DOGE price doubles like it did recently.  Cheesy

Let's change the tone before it happens.

Go go, doge! Smiley
849  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Qora | Released 16 May | 100% POS | New Source on: September 08, 2014, 04:02:00 PM
We are still if you compare to NXT in dirt cheap territory.

That's because all you do is talking. One work horse is doing everything, the others are just waiting and dreaming, not even building the network.
there is a reward program for running a node

Ok, I found it, but it's only 3000 qora/week, that's ~$0.30/week, too little. That wouldn't even cover hosting expenses. Only initial stakeholders have a vested interest to run nodes now, and I see there are only 22 nodes in the network (http://qora.co.in/nodeview.php). If you want other people to join the network, initial stakeholders should provide more attractive bounties.

I am not talking about development. I am talking about growing the network and community. How are you supposed to withstand DDoS attacks with just 10 nodes? And if Qora price goes any higher, it will be noticed and DDoS'ed for sure. No DDoS attacks now is kind of indication that nobody thinks anything seriously about Qora. And why is that? Because there is no community and nobody is doing any productive work, Qora value is not backed by collective efforts. From the side it looks like a scientific software experiement of one Qora developer, nothing else. Who invests any big money into scientific experiments? Most scientists exist on government grants and scholarships. See what I am saying?

How does it work then if it's blocked?

Because Eligius only mines ~5% of Bitcoin blocks.

Do you mean Eligius removes all pending transactions of Counterparty when it mines its blocks and those txs have to wait for another miner to include them?

I wonder if Scotland votes to secede, would they start bombing it to make it return to UK like they do in Ukraine.

You guys should quickly start building businesses on top of Qora AE once it's available. That's what crypto 2.0 technologies are about. They are not coins. They are fuel and a transport layer for businesses on top of the blockchain. If there is just a piece of software with features, no matter how nice and robust they are, and nobody uses them, then it's just a piece of dead code. That's where you need a community, to build companies, to interact, to do a lot of other work. What one can observe now in Qora is one developer and perhaps a hundred guys or less waiting for the price to take off by itself and not lifting a finger to make it happen.

One simple question: how many nodes are there in Qora network? Every time I start Qora client to sync I always see a few, no more. PoS network is about building nodes too. With just 10 nodes or so it doesn't go very far. To build nodes you need to provide bounties to node owners, etc. You can do that right now, you don't have to rely on the Qora developer to grow the network.

You get a 5% discount on the price if you buy with NXT. But you can also buy with Bitcoin:

858  Economy / Speculation / Re: URGENT, Bitcoin is on the verge of collapse !!! on: September 08, 2014, 11:21:53 AM
What is your opinion today about my topic ?

Mining factor is 0.6 cent per GH at 24 hours, and continues to decline.

I personally think that your math is as bad as your English Wink.

For 3 months you have continuously claimed the bitcoin mining is unprofitable yet :
http://blockchain.info/charts/hash-rate

Large part of that hashrate must be from VCs' and other long-term investors' funds who intend to wait and not sell mined coins till it hits higher valuations. Which may or may not happen, the point is, they don't have urgency to sell to cover expenditures as smaller miners do.

What does it mean? It means smaller miners are more and more out of the mining business as price is stagnating, a few large miners centralize the mining process.

It's not a bad idea, but the name SuperNet... It sounds like a high speed internet service catered to the 60+ crowd.

I believe it will be called UNITY or at least that's what I heard. SuperNet is a temporary name.
