841  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DCR] Decred - Hybrid PoW/PoS | btcsuite Devs | Tons of New Features | Go on: January 11, 2016, 04:31:18 PM
Hi devs, any chance you can halt or slow down gpu/fpga farms centralising the mining from the start so regular miners get a fair chance?

Also can you post some tutorial about mining for dummies or something so beginning miners like me can get into it?

Cheers

This could be a good addition. And as the above post say'd it would be good if the miner was out a bit earlier so the users can set up their machines and test that everything works. Decred should do everything to avoid as much launch drama as possible. Im guessing quite a few small miners want to give it a shot also.
842  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Provider as moneypot.com for orther currency? on: January 11, 2016, 12:36:01 PM
Hi all,

i'm search a provider as moneypot.com for orther currencys, moneypot.com support bitcoins, and i will be happy if there are a concept like that in Dogecoin and Litecoin? Smiley

are there somebody there know about a site like moneypot.com to orther currencys?

Thanks a lot for helping.

First of all i will point out that sine it is about altcoins you should move it to the altcoin section.
No for the topic. I would actually love something like moneypot for altcoins. Especially as i like gambling with other currencies more than i do with bitcoin. The provider would need to be as reliable as moneypot for it to work.

I saw the POS poll but didnt mention it before we got the official update on the situation. I would support going to POS. I see you want to double the current price, would take quite a few coins to get it double.
Its sad to see the exchange go but if it really was that bad, could be for the best. I hope the new one is better! I also see swaps can start again soon.
Yes, exchange script was piece of shit ( we bought it from http://m6lab.com <-- So, dont buy anything from them), we will rather wait few months and deliver you professional product than give you piece of not woring shit Wink

So it was that bad ? Thank you for letting people know so we can avoid them! The option of the POS coin seems interesting. Have you thought about what the % might be? Im sure you have thought about a few options. Would be interesting to know what the current options are and what you have thought of.

Rollin.

I Opened this Thread to learn strategy how to earn from this dice site.
I saw a lot people earn huge amount of bitcoin on Rollin.
I was playing in rollin almost a year.
But not yet earn bitcoin profits.

Please, someone share to me how to realize profits there!
any help will be appreciated.
Thank You.

As mentioned before there is really no winning strategy that always works. Things that can help are bankroll management as shown a few posts above me and knowing when to stop if you are ahead. One of the biggest mistakes people make is they start to chase the losses. Lets say you loose 5 in a row, 6th must be a win right ?! Wrong. Just follow what you believe is the best strategy and you can win some.

I asked Bittrex again few days ago. They said that they wont add coins whose primary purpose is to support gambling. As far as I know, there is only one coin with ths kind of primary purpose - CasinoCoin.

there were some before but they all died. lottocoin, jackpotcoin, etc

No worries. We don't need Bittrex.

Would be nice to still have them. If they don't want the coin, maybe ask Polo? Because right now the markets movement is really low, almost no trading. Could really use a bigger exchange that would take the place that cryptsy had but in a good way lol.
Getting close to February, exited to see what happens!
847  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] HYPER ~ Game Currency ~ ON CNBC ~ Twitch.tv ~ ShapeShift.io ~RPG + More! on: January 11, 2016, 08:54:32 AM
can somebody from dev confirm that? my wallet finally sync, so I want know, or I should wait first rewards or must resend coins?
p.s. wallet eating >700mb ram its normal?

Yeah, the wallet is a huge ram hog. Not sure if anyone's working to fix that. A lot of coins are below 256 MB ram so it's a pretty big deal.

Yes, a future wallet update will fix the RAM issues, There is still also a bounty for a lite HYPER wallet Electrum style, if anyone is interested in making that wallet and claiming the bounty.

zazarb, now that you are fully synced you will be staking optimally. DO NOT resend the coins to another address, this will reset the coin age and you will miss out on your stakes!

How much HYPER is in your wallet? You should be staking nicely now please let me know.

I am in talks with some of our biggest HYPER supporters and we are coming up with many initiatives to push HYPER forward in 2016.

If anyone wants to contribute in any way please PM me.

Currently I am looking for someone to manage the official HYPER twitter account, but if you have any other ideas on promoting HYPER, or any kind of HYPER project you would like to work on, please also PM me.

There are also plans for more games.

Stay tuned ...

Other ways promote HYPER, be active on Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Tumblr and other social medias and create a blog where you post about games related to HYPER and HYPER itself. After some times it will increase the visibility of the coin and the community.

This really is the part where the community can help spread the word about HYPER. Tell your friends, share some tweets, post on Facebook. It all helps to get the word out.
Im really interested in learning what the new games will be Smiley Hope we get updated soon on that part.

looking at how this coin is doing on the market gives me some ideas why dev stopped updating or give news ( not like before)

IMO looks as though dev is buying up much of the cheep coins as possible and taking them off the exchange (i see lot of buying and coins moved off bittrex)

i don t blame the dev for trying get control back of the coin since he lost so much of the premine

its just s thought  that flashed in my head so guys stop dumping ...  don't base any FUD on this post Smiley

This could very well be happening or someone else who is interested in IEC is buying them up. The coins are cheap right now (compared to the previous price and how they are tied to gold and silver). I was thinking it will get even cheaper but seems those bots are doing a good job of buying the coins up.
849  Economy / Gambling / Re: •••• COINICHIWA • DICE • V3 PUBLIC BETA NOW! •••• on: January 10, 2016, 08:41:55 PM
The new version looks promising but it can take a bit time to get used to it. I like the idea of different language chat rooms, clears it up a bit. It looks pretty clean with no unnecessary stuff. Looking forward to what else will change there. It was nice to see that the bets were still fast, one of the best parts of coinichiwa.
850  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Betcoin.ag | Examples of Unethical Dishonest and Irresponsible Behavior on: January 10, 2016, 06:42:05 PM
I was aware about some of the points you mentioned (i used to play there a bit) but some issues are new to me. I havent really had issues with support (then again i havent played there enough to really need support). I am aware of the rake incident, i stopped playing after i learned about it.
851  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LTCR] Litecred - [QUBIT][8 MB][MINING][FIXED POW/POS SUBSIDY] LAUNCHED on: January 10, 2016, 12:27:03 PM
Here is your exchange : https://coinorium.com/market/34

this exange is dead and does not inspire any confidence
Keep talking foryourlsef , how can you call dead a website that started working 1 week ago?

We see that it is a new exchange and that is also the reason it is dead. Dead means no volume. First of all the exchange needs some good trading pairs (unless it is ment as a place to trade coins that are not seen anywhere else pretty much). Its good that LTCR is listed there but the point still remains, who's going to trade there ?
852  Economy / Gambling / Re: Domain name for poker site on: January 10, 2016, 11:59:15 AM
I dont really find any of the domain names to be good but if i had to choose one i would most likely go with the luckycardz. I think you should go for another look and see if you can find better names. Domain is a huge part of you identity so it is worth spending a few hours more on researching a good one.
853  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it profitable to invest in betting sites? on: January 09, 2016, 06:27:42 PM
I requested opinions from our members about which is profitable.
Investing in betting sites or betting our self?

Investing is profitable, if it wasnt, people would not invest. I have been investing for a while on a few sites (nothing big) but the overall is positive for me. The HE is there for a reason, and that is to make sure that over a longer time the investors stay in profit. Good example is CLAM, it also gives stake rewards so benefits of staking and investing.
854  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DCR] Decred - Hybrid PoW/PoS | btcsuite Devs | Tons of New Features | Go on: January 09, 2016, 06:21:04 PM
Sorry, i've read that dev bought decred at 0.49 usd each?
Is this the price at launch?
How could you predict price?

Not really sure besides the people who trade will determine the price. I dont think that is really a concern for now because the important part is securing the network and getting on with dev work and everything related. The price will get sorted when its time, its a long term project afterall so no rush.

Here to claim the 50k to give a shot at the Jackpot. I see there has been a winner already but the winnings are pretty small as the levels are still so small. Maybe one day we can get a good jackpot also, wont most likely be me but still got to hope! Thank you for the Happy Hour
856  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Losing a martingale is easier than you think on: January 09, 2016, 05:08:54 PM
... indeed, with an house edge of 1% and betting 2x, you have 19.33% of chances to encounter an 8 losing streak in your first 100 bets. 1/5, not so hard...

The math behind this is really hard, I struggled a bit to find it out and I definitely can't understand it, but for people who can here's the link:

http://www.askamathematician.com/2010/07/q-whats-the-chance-of-getting-a-run-of-k-successes-in-n-bernoulli-trials-why-use-approximations-when-the-exact-answer-is-known/

And, for lazy people like me, here you can find a calculator:

http://maxgriffin.net/CalcStreaks.shtml

I'm just sharing, because I was asking thiis question myself for a time, and now I found the answer

Martingale can work, it really depends on luck and your bankroll. While what you say is true, the 8 loosing streak can come very fast but to make profit you need to survive longer than 8 losses. I believe there was a player on BitDice some time ago who played martingale on something like 48.5% or something like that. He played for months and won over 100 BTC in the end, i think close to 200.

"martingale can work" but it's incredibly stupid.

Here's a fun math problem to figure out why it's dumb. Calculate the odds of winning, x in a row. Calculate the odds of losing x in a row. They are exactly the same if you are flipping a coin. Now calculate how much you win if you win x in a row, and compare that to how much you lose when you lose x in a row (which has the same odds on flipping a coin, and will actually be easier to do on a dice site with 2x payouts). See how incredibly different those numbers are? Why would anyone think that's a good idea?

There is no such thing as a "good idea" in gambling nor a strategy that is proven to work. I just brought out an example of someone who did successfully win using the strategy playing almost all the time over the course of 2 months using autobet. It can work but that does not mean it will.
857  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CLAM] CLAMs, Proof-Of-Chain, Proof-Of-Working-Stake, a.k.a. "Clamcoin" on: January 09, 2016, 04:40:53 PM
What other coins stake as easily as Clams?

Many do but that is not the point. Its more about the options you get with CLAM. You can solo stake if you want or invest in gambling sites (such as JD and BitDice) where you can be an investor and still stake. If staking is not your thing there is always movement in the exchange so you can trade (people buy and sell for gambling). You can even lend the the CLAM out on Polo if you want and earn more that way.
Its a good mix Smiley
858  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CLAM] CLAMs, Proof-Of-Chain, Proof-Of-Working-Stake, a.k.a. "Clamcoin" on: January 09, 2016, 11:22:48 AM
Im sorry, but how is CLAM even worth anything? How can it be the same pricw as coins such as Factom and ETH? I really dont understand..

CLAM has some nice features such as the voting system (tho some part of it is still in development to make it user friendly). The main reason why it is so high is Just-Dice. Being the usable currency for the iconic gambling site is worth more than pretty much any innovation those named coins have.
859  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How legal is to create betting/gambling site? on: January 09, 2016, 10:33:44 AM
Hello.

I'm thinking about creating own gambling site. Do I need license for that? Does anyone have experience in this field?

It really depends on what country you are from and the local laws. Pretty much impossible to say without knowing where you are from but i can say that most gambling sites are not registered. Especially the smaller ones (new sites that pop up and for example moneypot apps). So i would not worry too much about it Smiley

Great to see people are starting to receive invitations and generating their addresses! The e-mails will keep flowing. Make sure you check your spam folder if you haven't whitelisted decred.org. There is also a dedicated support thread that just opened to help guide others through the process. Decred has an international community, so if you notice anything in the language-specific threads about getting help with the process, please help others where you can. You can also post here and people will help you if you have trouble.

Just checked and seems i have also received the airdrop confirmation email. Time to go and claim my key Tongue
Theres plenty of time to go till the 18th so people can still get in if they are interested. The way they chose to give the coins out was the best what they could do for now im sure.
