Qual o problema desses aparelhos? São tão difíceis de se fazer assim? Qual a diferença de se usar placas gráficas potentes? Tks. Nao tem problema algum, exceto a escasses de gente capacitada para executar o projeto. O mais dificil é levantar a grana inicial pra desenvolver construir e testar os chips. A diferença eh que a ASIC só realiza uma tarefa específica, vide o nome, Application specific integrated circuit. Não só mão de obra, mas ter uma empresa pra suprir uma produção em massa dos ASICs também é difícil. Quando disse gente capacitada eu me referi a engenheiro experiente em projetar esse tipo de chip, quanto a producao em massa, nào é problema, estamos falando da China, veja o exemplo da ASICMINER também ancorada na terra dos mandarins mas que opera com transparencia e eficiencia espantosas, entrega o prometido, constantemente, sem lero lero. Ja Asicminer é a verdadeira primeira empresa a entregar asic em grande quantidade a seus investidores. O motivo da Avalon estar demorando tanto? Níinguem pode afirmar com certeza, mas como eles já tem as maquinas prontas e MINERANDO, o mais óbvio é ganância mesmo. Subiu a cabeça de alguém por lá ter máquinas suficientes pra imprimir o equivalente a 1Milhao de USD por mês. Sobre o atraso da BFL, desconfio que foi por pura ignorância dos caminhos e negócios da China e por mirar muito alto prometendo um produto muito bom logo na primeira tentativa, eles também tem seus chips sendo produzidos por aqui e por nao serem chineses devem ter ido pro fim da fila, nao se assuste se isso soar como racismo ou xenofobia. aviso: nao me responsabilizo por nada escrito aqui |

I like very much the poem and all zen stuff, thanks for posting, that does not make it easy because we all know they are mining, its bright clear, they said this themselves in the last newsletter they would do it a few days and that would help get the machines we funded done. Totally comprehensible, they are working for us, avalon exists because of we all here funded Icarus, Lancelot *both pre-mined and delivery with very very little delay* and now we have to wait the new shiny hot air blowing toy. BTC is stronger, the network safer, no one is complaining about the success of this enterprise, but the full-of-rigmarole-newsletters, delay and repetitive schedule missing --those guys really enjoyd the holidays-- let alone the language avalon public man uses to communicate with their costumers(sic) should have been very different from the start. Some people should visit more the ASICMINER thread and learn how to deal with the people that make big projects possible. Basically, when you have money and fame you should at least try to be a gentleman too. I miss the days we could deal direct with the great ngzhang and have a straight conversation. Source pls the source is good source, and I guess this is batch2 first wave shipping date, they are here everyday they can confirm if they think its the right thing do to. and at this point that the schedule is gone your choices are: choose to believe or not on what I heard and wait the bulk email. I would be very surprised if they deliver before that date to anyone outside the tradein program, note that the special costumers delivered fpga 2 weeks ago and are still waiting contact. and now I said this maybe they confirm this date or continue to postone, who knows? did I just gave whoever/whatever is behind the delay more time to finish, improve, mine or whatever? avalon just write one more email and hit submit, we did our part! |

thats fortunate. I deliverd a bunch of pacakges paying slightly more and one with a bigger difference, I still have to return to BJ and collect the change with mr Chen. I sincerely cant see him using that $$$ to fix this duties without prior notification. i wonder why and how the delivery guy.would give up on payment for your package

Avalon and their holidays.
Source? They were supposed to be back from holidays, processing orders at full speed, on april 15, since the machines are finished and already mining for sometime now. Speaking of batch two, we are unfortunately going to be late. This should not be too surprising as the delay from batch one will no doubt carry over. This delay also caused us to make drastic adjustments to our project timeline dealing with anything with a lead time like parts purchasing. We plan to start shipping majority of batch two orders starting on 15th of April. Not all the news is bad news however, originally around this period we are suppose to take this time to organize, make some changes and install a brand new SMT line in our facility. This upgrade will effectively double our production capacity, it enable us to put Avalon into the hands of our customer even faster. The new line is currently scheduled to come online during the last week of April. We expect batch two and three to ship much faster than batch one mainly there is no Chinese New Year and we have overcome the problems encountered in shipping batch one.
On to batch three, we at Avalon did not even wish to sell another batch. If you recall, our original plan was to produce only one batch, sell chips to thwart the centralization of mining, but due to the lackluster performance of our competitors we are here today as the exact centralization we tried to decouple. In addition, this delay is eating into our timeline for this project's future goals and various other projects. To be frank: it was a simple decision of build a mining farm ourselves and mine for a month or so to get the funding for things like the SMT line and next generation development vs. raise the price and sell units trying to get the money earlier to counterbalance the delay we have had. So, we came up with some terms and left the choice to the community.munity. |

As long as you make about $2000 from each machine, it's a good investment. Further, bitching to Avalon won't make them ship faster. Perhaps Yifu might delay your machines just to troll you, who knows.
No, I'd consider that a complete failure as an investment. I paid 77 coins per batch 2 machine I ordered. If I do not earn 77BTC back (per machine) in a reasonable time frame, then it was a losing investment. Heh. I did the smart thing and pegged it to USD. As long as I get it back and then some, I'm golden. Define reasonable time frame. A realistic ROI on investments IRL is 5-10% yearly, at best. Not on BTC mining investments. Due to difficulty increases, if your device doesn't pay for itself in the first year it never will. Probably the first 6 months, TBH. Resale value will be next to nothing. This. Hopefully now that BFL is shipping we will have some batch #4 Avalons with a competitive price, let's say 25 BTC for 45GHs and 50 BTC for 90GHs. That would ROI in 30 days at 27 million difficulty, which I think is the minimum diff. we will see when batch #4 Avalons start to arrive to customers hands. We can start talking about batch 4 after batch 2 and 3 gets delivered. And Looks like the batch3 with ROI of 30 days at diff 10.000.000 is already far away from reality. |
