841  Economy / Economics / Re: Russia; The digital ruble will be launched in 2023 on: April 12, 2021, 07:48:48 PM
Using cryptocurrencies to overcome barriers in the financial space is a smart policy. Perhaps they are focusing on China when creating cryptocurrencies for their country.
Digital Rup will have more liquidity and get rid of the influence of strong currencies like USD, EURO.

It's funny to watch them fight other cryptocurrencies to get rid of competition.

Centralized cryptos go against the idea of cryptocurrency. They go against the values of Bitcoin.
Digital ruble is not going to be a real cryptocurrency. It's going to be a wolf in sheep's clothing pretty much like Libra and it's going to fail like Libra, Petro and all other government and corpo cryptocurrencies.

Makes me wonder what value will bitcoin have in 2023. How many rubles will we be able to buy for 1 bitcoin Cheesy
842  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency as a form of digital payment for ecommerce on: April 12, 2021, 07:12:31 PM
That's how I like my surveys. Short Cheesy

You could actually add an option to choose more than one in the last question.
For me acceptance and privacy are equally important. I wouldn't want to make a purchase without both of these things.

Good luck with your thesis!
843  Economy / Speculation / Re: Someone Big Again Just Bought 12600 Bitcoin at 60k on: April 12, 2021, 06:45:29 PM
Interesting the inflow never been lower.
https://ibb.co/ZhBRhfN

Might be time to buy Wink

Tell me please when it was NOT the time to buy. You won't find a single year in which buying Bitcoin was not a good idea.

I feel like the fact that the amount of bitcoins on exchanges is decreasing is going to be the real big catalyst of the bull run and it's going to be sudden and unexpected. Now there's a certain amount of coins bought and sold but it's pretty much the same coins, say 2 million bitcoins circulating. When we reach a time when those coins are bought new buyers will find out that every purchase increases the price by a lot and this is when the fun will start.
844  Economy / Speculation / Re: small price correction after this bullrun on: April 11, 2021, 10:08:25 PM
You're right, OP

People expect a big correction but it could never come. Like when we had that correction from 60 to 40 thousand. This may be the new normal and we'll have another peak followed by a 40% correction and so on.

The only thing that makes me rethink your idea is the logarithmic band that Bitcoin follows. We aren't at it's peak yet, but if there are peaks there will be lows. We are going to hit a level people will see as rock bottom, but it won't be so. Just like 2018 was not the ultimate peak and 2019 was not the real bottom.
845  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Avoid been carried away, it's never going to be bullish forever on: April 11, 2021, 09:57:06 PM
Since we're in the altcoin section I'll agree that taking profit is important. With Bitcoin not so much because Bitcoin is on another level.

It's important to be smart and estimate your chances. Altcoins depend on Bitcoin and on themselves so their chances of a continuous bull run are much lower than Bitcoin's. Think of the fundamentals and evaluate if they're strong enough to carry the coin you're holding. Like if I had a coin I don't believe in and see it's going nowhere on its own I'd rather be in fiat or something else.

Don't take profit blind.
846  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: XRP set to dethrone Bitcoin on: April 10, 2021, 11:28:37 PM
What a joke. XRP is a shitcoin and any pumps are orchestrated by Ripple corp or pump groups.

The only purpose of this coin is to act like it's a better bitcoin because it's centralized and make money from releasing premined coins to idiots willing to buy them. Then use some profits to pay press to show Ripple CEO and do interviews with him so that he can bash bitcoin and praise his money cow XRP.
847  Economy / Economics / Re: Why you can't be rich by owning crypto on: April 08, 2021, 04:11:17 PM
This would decrease the global productivity, even if the demand remains same(or even increase due to increased wealth). This would in turn increase the price of all commodities almost at the same rate as that of Bitcoin(law of supply and demand)

How many bitcoin millionaires able to retire in young age are we going to have worldwide? What percentage of their country's population are they going to be?

Even if it's 1% and this 1% of people retire early they will also be able to pay more for goods and services. They will want to build bigger houses, maybe start companies with the money they now have. They are going to pay people and give them work. How is that bad?

Bitcoin is going to become something you save up and give to your children so that they also can benefit. If I had millions of dollars in bitcoin I wouldn't sit on my butt all day but make sure I live my life to the fullest.
848  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Could Be Chinese ‘Weapon’ on: April 08, 2021, 03:50:34 PM
Quote
Thiel opined that, assuming China is long bitcoin, the cryptocurrency could pose a threat to the U.S. dollar’s reserve currency status.

If it is to be that kind of weapon then there's really nothing bad in it for us investors. It's the central banks that should be worried.

I'm a EU citizen and I couldn't care less about USD losing its status. I've never bought anything using USD. I've never even held a dollar bill in my hand.
I try not to play "their" game simply because they don't care about me. All they need me for is to take a loan and deposit my hard earned money in their bank.

849  Economy / Speculation / Re: Next big news? on: April 08, 2021, 03:35:31 PM
We will reach 60 thousand again without any big news. It's natural for the price to keep retesting levels and when it retests highs it has to go back to test lows. That's the way it is and you shouldn't be concerned about it.

If you're worried about your investment you either have to let go and focus on something else or be like those weak hands and sell.

Remember that panic selling only makes you feel safer. It doesn't make you safer.  Lips sealed
850  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Many people think that Bitcoin is not a currency with practical uses on: April 08, 2021, 03:19:33 PM
Funny because in these past months I've been making trade online  using cryptocurrency and it's really seamless without any centralized company or government intervention whatsoever.
Most of merchants that I know also seem to prefer crypto nowadays, doesn't want to get in problem with company like paypal with their ridiculous ToS.
even if I'm being frank paper money has way less practical uses than cryptocurrency considering it can't be transferred easily without using third party services like bank, maybe they're just blind.

Then you have to be trading some expensive goods since you have to pay at least $10 to pay with Bitcoin. That doesn't mean bitcoin is impractical, on the contrary, it's a great way to keep the government off your back.

In many African countries people were forced to pay with their phone minutes for goods because their fiat money was so worthless. If we account for that then bitcoin is surely better than minutes Wink
851  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Two months since Tesla BTC purchase. Corporate buying less than expected? on: April 08, 2021, 03:05:18 PM
Corporate buying is OTC & we won’t know if there are lots of institutions buying until they announce it. They are not going to announce until they are finished buying. Think about it, if Apple announce they are buying bitcoin then the price will moon, these companies will only announce their purchasing once they are finished buying.

+1

We don't know how big corporate buying is just like we don't know how many coins are lost forever.

Corporations allow us to know as much as they want us to know. JP Morgan was bashing Bitcoin so they could buy. Many companies have the same strategy. They will buy and then break the news about their purchase to pump the price even if they are not planning to sell the news. They usually do it so that other companies - their competitors have to pay more and so that they can show profit in the books.
852  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coins are good for investing? on: April 08, 2021, 02:46:54 PM
At the moment I think BNB, LTC and ETH are good altcoins to invest in.
Stay away from XRP, the coin is having too much trouble and investors are losing patience with it.

XRP is one of the worst coins out there. Don't poke it with a stick Cheesy You might think that it's ok because it pumps from time to time but these pumps are from manipulation. They aren't natural.

Usually pump groups or the ripple company is behind any moves of this coin. Remember that Ripple's deal is to pump it so they can dump some of their coiuns on the market to have money to finance some more promotional campaigns.

Buy bitcoin first and when you have it go into ETH and ADA because they're pretty similar projects with a lot of utility. Stay away from BCH, BSV, XRP and TRON.
853  Economy / Speculation / Re: Despite six months of rising Bitcoin prices, Peter Brent says up to $ 50,000 cor on: April 08, 2021, 02:25:35 PM

From what I see... I would not rely much on this guy's predictions Smiley
He's just following the trend and adjusting his expectations by that.
Good call with the newer article, @tinopener
Who does really rely with someone calls like these? Every person does have its own and this isn't something different with those generic speculations that can really be seen around.

with that newer article had posted and such change of views then its already expected for these people to change up their minds basing on the situation they are currently seeing.

$50k correction is somewhat realistic compared into those going back to $10k calls earlier which it typically nonsense at all.We cant really just go back on that low.

Maybe by 50000 correction he means a correction to 50000? Cheesy that would be somewhat realistic since we had that in the end of March after the second ATH. Now we could go towards a third big ATH of this bull market. Maybe 65 thousand?

10 thousand is not really a realistic price because we already went over the last ATH of 20 thousand twice in the last 5 years. In 2013 we reached 3000 and then a new ath of 20 thousand. A correction from that 2nd ATH never went down to the previous ATH.

I don't think that we'll go below 20 thousand even if we have a strong correction.
854  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin wasn’t created to make you rich. It was created to make you free on: April 08, 2021, 01:56:16 PM
Agree totally. Myself and I am sure many others got into Bitcoin because the premise of being in control of your finances and being your own bank was our only hope of getting out of the broken financial system of this world.

Being rich while hodling should be seen as a bonus.

That's right. I'd be happy if my money held value when held in the form of Bitcoins. I'd much appreciate deflation of 5% a year.

Many people complain about volatility, not seeing that Bitcoin deflates by more than 10% a year, sometimes reaching crazy numbers like 200%. Even 10% is more than any bank would give you for your money and then you'd have to subtract 2-5% inflation from that.

Buying bitcoin is pure profit if you can keep it safe.
855  Economy / Economics / Re: Russian currency big problems on: April 08, 2021, 01:40:30 PM
Russia with Putengo(aka W. Pputin  Roll Eyes is a HARD, VERY HARD, VERY,VERY,VERY HARD COUNTRY !!!

Is a good news - all world talk now about Putango Palace, - YES, THIS MONEYS FROM GRANDMOTHERS AND GRANDFATHERS WHOT PUTANGO GET FROM THEM !!! YES - PUTANGO IS A DICTATOR, NOT SO STUPID LIKE AFRICAN DICTATORS, BUT HI IS REAL? REAL - REAL DICTATOR !!!!

Putin is germany so he dont care about russians
Germany rules the world
Also germany switxerland

All these people are there to make money and politics is only a game they play.

We all saw the palace that former Ukraine president built for himself. We also saw Putin's palace. They all have billions and shit in gold plated while their citizens live in poverty.

Russian currency has its own problems but the bigger problem is corruption.
856  Economy / Speculation / Re: The price of bitcoin may go bull soon on: April 08, 2021, 01:10:08 PM
I thought we reach already the very peak of this Bullish season for Bitcoin?
I was thinking now for possible dumps but just to look into that indicator, isn't over yet. But, I don't give the fullest expectation to that, it is just because I don't want to get disappointed just like having a feeling of last 2017 bullish ends. We are expecting a lot for that time but that all be gone when a drastic downfall comes next to it and many were not prepared for the said drops.

I keep believing that the market is really unpredictable and that neither thinks that it will happen even there is stable market demand. Or even they have shown it right twice.

What made you think that it's the end? You haven't given any reason.

As far as I know, bull cycles end with a bang. We reach a certain point that is so overbought that people are just waiting for any sign of weakness to dump it all. They don't want to stay in 50/50. We could see that in 2013 and in 2018. The price was so overextended that when the selling begun there was almost no buy orders on the way down, just empty space into which people were selling, making the price go -30% in a matter of hours. For something like that to happen we'd go to 60 thousand and back to 40 in a day. We were very close to this in February, but since then we had a new high and a much smaller correction which is a bullish sign. I think that we might have another shot at a new high.
857  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we expecting a bullish trend? on: April 07, 2021, 10:16:19 PM
If you're thinking whether to go short or long think about your current position.

People who have a lot of coins bought ling before this ATH should take some profit. It's going to make them feel more confident, safer, ready for a possible fall and give them available money to buy the dip.

If you're one of those who still don't have any coins you should buy. Having none means missing possible gains if we go up. Always open yourself to both possibilities and have something to do when price goes up or down. I honestly think that every person in the world should spend at least 1% of their savings on bitcoin.

Since we are in a bull market you have better chance of going long. Don't go against the trend, wait for a confirmed reversal.
858  Economy / Speculation / Re: The price of bitcoin may go bull soon on: April 07, 2021, 09:59:36 PM
I read about a bitcoin pi cycle indicator and in the past 2 bull markets (2013 and 2017) it was very accurate. It even managed to accurately point the top twice in 2013 (in Spring and Winter).

If it were to be correct once again we should have another big pump to a new high within 2 weeks, followed by a large correction. It's going to depend on whether the lines cross. THey're pretty close together now but it doesn't mean they will cross this week . I'm not going to sell if we pump a bit and the lines cross, but I'm going to watch this out of pure curiosity.

859  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Risks of instituations holding bitcoin on: April 07, 2021, 09:44:35 PM
Quote
US Securities and Exchange Commission revealed that retail’s share of bitcoin purchases has fallen steadily over time, from 80% in Q1 2018 to 36% in Q4 2020. This indicates that institutions are buying up a bigger share of the bitcoin pie, a trend which may only continue and perhaps even accelerate in the future.

Nothing new. As price goes up less private investors will be ready to buy a big share. Private investors who bought cheap will be selling and big companies who have money and are prepared to invest a lot more and be satisfied with smaller margin of profit are going to keep buying.

I don't call it a risk. It's what every mature asset evolves into. Gold is also owned by big players like central banks. Retail in mature assets is always falling behind institutions.
