He said "Liberty Reserve"
Derp, sorry I fail.

OK, it's done. Tell me if there are any problems.
Just a half-second blip while LastPass logged me in again, and all is well!
863  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why did trade hill give up? on: July 10, 2012, 09:15:20 PM
So only Dwolla's motion was dismissed not Tradehill's entire case?

Dwolla's motion lead to Tradehill's entire case to be dismissed.
Quote
This would make more sense to me, since I believe Tradehill will win the case. Although, I'm still confused as to why Tradehill or any other exchange based in the USA would allow custormers to use Dwolla, Paypal, Liberty Reserve, etc to fund their accounts. As far as I know, standard practice for RL brokerage firms is customer's bank account to brokerage's bank account and vice-versa.

Dwolla was supposed to be irreversible. Turn out, it is not.

why do you include LR in the list?  I thought they did not reverse charges.
He said RL not LR, as in Real Life not Liberty Reserve.
864  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BITCOIN MAGAZINE ARRIVED! on: July 10, 2012, 09:13:17 PM
I ordered 1 for a friend and 1 for me June 23 and they arrived yesterday.

Only one complaint I have: I would prefer less 5 pages and smaller letters.
The only pages where the font had an acceptable size for a magazine was in the success/fail article.
All other pages had huge letters imposible to read because it made the paragraphs look enormous.
Yes, and the font sizes should be consistent.
865  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Subforum naming FAIL on: July 10, 2012, 09:11:55 PM
I'd call dev-kits custom.

The clue's in the name: Development Kit.

They're like, for development. They're not an end-user product. They are custom.
Even calling them COT is a stretch.

I'm comfortable with the forum name.

Dev kits are as custom as they come, but they're not custom mining hardware.
Yeah I doubt many of them would mine without power issues if you used an optimized bitstream.
866  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: EasyMiner - new version with Auto speed tuning on: July 10, 2012, 08:39:14 PM
I see a lot of people using CGminer - Why would one want to use CGminer instead of easy miner? is there a trend or preference emerging for one over the other.

Thanks

David

CGMiner is the probably the best miner software out there. And last I knew, mining in EasyMiner was not actually enabled.

Sorry for my ignorance - Just to verify  - you cannot actually mine with easyminer? That seems strange

Most people use EasyMiner to update the firmware of their Single, and then use CGMiner to mine.

is easyminer ever intended to mine if not the name is kind of ironic. ?
If you load it up, you will see that it has a mining function, but that has been disabled. This is because it is not fully developed, but the firmware updates were needed so it was released with mining functionality disabled. Even if it were enabled, you would be stuck with EMC as the pool.

Glad to say that BitVPS is now providing *proper* hosting for BTCCharts.com

I just set them up and am damn glad to have them as customers.

Finally our damn site will be up! I need some stats ASAP! Smiley
Maybe you should save your little press releases until the site loads for everyone, yeah?
869  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why did trade hill give up? on: July 10, 2012, 07:20:07 PM
According to the documents here: http://dockets.justia.com/docket/california/candce/3:2012cv01082/252135/

Dwolla filed a motion to compel Tradehill to submit to arbitration, and the case was dismissed because of that, if I am reading it correctly.

Guys, don't forget that he is in Australia, so it's almost 5AM Sydney time right now (not sure what zone he's in). Give him a few hours to wake up and sort out any issues.
873  Economy / Computer hardware / [closed] [WTS] Mini rig - GPU test & diagnostics station - PSU, CPU, RAM, Mobo.. on: July 10, 2012, 05:38:43 PM
SOLD

No, not that kind of Mini-Rig Cheesy
For sale is a scaled down version of my big rigs that held 6 cards. I used it for testing and diagnosing 1 or 2 cards, so that the rest of the big rigs could continue to mine while I figured out problems with specific cards.
It comes with the following components:

The frame as pictured, with mobo tray.
1x "BIOSTAR COMBO6S3B AMD Sempron 130 AM3 NVIDIA MCP68S Micro ATX Motherboard/CPU Combo" which was a temporary deal at Newegg so I don't have a link. Basically just a Semp 130 and a tiny Biostar mobo with 2 slots sold together.
1x Crucial 2x 1GB DDR3 RAM.
1x Cooler Master GX750W  RS750-ACAAD3-US power supply.

This board has one PCIe x16 slot, and one standard PCI slot. It works great for figuring out issues with one or 2 cards at a time, while allowing the rest of your rigs to run on their remaining cards. Additionally, for another $35, I will include a PCI-to-PCIe adapter, an x16 powered flexible ribbon cable, and an x16 unpowered ribbon cable.

Just add either a USB stick with BAMT or a hard drive with your choice of OS to get started. Great for testing all kinds of computer components that fit in expansion slots, not just Radeon video cards.
Asking $150 including the frame, or $185 with the riser cables and PCI-to-PCIe adapter, or make an offer. Shipping to the US included, Canadians might be a little extra. I can accept BTC at market rate, MtGox codes, or Dwolla.

I got my single yesterday, and its happily hashing away. Fastest shipping ever.
+1 for USPS, I have rediscovered their service and have started choosing priority mail for almost everything now. I sent that on Saturday and it got there Monday for less than $20 or so. Epic win.
878  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs. the Banks on: July 10, 2012, 01:36:04 AM
Governments is not in control of any currency, I don't know where you took this idea. Government is only regulating this stupid system. "banks" as the actual concept is a real problem because all money in circulation represent a dept and can be taken away from you (as society) at their all mighty willing at any moment. How a monetary system that only depend on its credit can be a good concept for the people. This concept is only good for the banks itself and that's all.
Oh? Would you care to speculate where all the frozen wikileaks funds are? And how they got frozen in the first place? That sounds a lot like governmental control, doesn't it?
I didn't know that Bank of America and MasterCard who where the first to threaten wikileaks was own by the government...
Show me where they turn them away before the goverment got involved and poked its smelly nose into places where it didn't belong.

Do you seriously think they would turn away a revenue generating customer solely on ideological pretenses? Hell no.

880  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are your thoughts of this? Possible scam in the future? on: July 10, 2012, 01:21:19 AM
Who cares? I don't even think that those kinds of actions should be considered when determining trust, so it doesn't matter.

And anyways, why would the BTC-e PR account post a note of thanks if it was actually a scam?
