1705  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a way to get multiple deposit addresses for MtGox or other exchanges on: June 15, 2012, 01:40:45 AM
How will you know a payment was received?  Monitoring the address using a third-party service, like BlockChain.info perhaps?

I wonder if any clients (e.g., Armory, Electrum or Multibit) can do a sweep to your Mt. Gox of the transaction immediately on 0/unconfirmed.  That way you don't need to receive directly to Mt. Gox.
I could think of a way to do this. Just export an existing private key that belongs to a "Sweep To" address, and then import that address to MtGox. Since MtGox sweeps all imported keys for every transaction, that would solve the problem of actually getting the money to the exchange.

Then, you would have to code your bot to detect when a deposit has been received by MtGox, and trigger a sale at market price.

For the actual address the the customer gets, that would be generated using the API of the client, and funds received by each unique address would be swept into the address that was added to MtGox.

I'll ask again: why doesn't Andre have a scammer tag under his name?
Apparently, those are only for repeat offenders or those that may be likely to do the same again. At least according to the administration here, from what I understand. I guess that goes to show why quite a large number of scammers don't get tagged.
1707  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Version 0.6.2 available on: June 15, 2012, 01:04:03 AM
lol VB6. It's called Qt and it's from Nokia: http://qt.nokia.com/
If you really have 11,000 transactions, why are you even using the GUI?

And if you know how to program in wx, you are welcome to maintain the old version. Luke-Jr will even help you set it up.

Happy I got some lol's out of the VB6 comment. Cheesy

So, run bitcoind instead of GUI you're saying?

Thanks!
It would definitely be more efficient, especially if you have some way of automating your process (sounds high volume). It requires you to send it commands and get a response, like most daemon applications, so it won't be like clicking a bunch of buttons and away you go. But it will run with your existing wallet with no problems.

ANALYSIS

Maria didn't have any significant balance in Bitcoinica. She created this thread to make people believe that she really had that balance, and she assumed that without a database, her claim cannot be verified as wrong. By promising to donate a significant amount, she thought she would be able to make people direct to Bitcoinica.

Instead of trying to recover funds from Bitcoinica LP by filling a claim, she instead started personal attacks against me. Because Bitcoinica LP as an limited entity had limited funds, and if she got the funds that didn't belong to her, people would know eventually and Maria and CoinExchanger will be get a Scammer tag. However, I, as an individual, is an unlimited entity and she assumed that she could defame and threaten me to get money without justification at all.

DISCLOSURE

Since I didn't receive any instruction from Maria regarding the unclaimed user account, and until today Bitcoinica still didn't receive a valid claim for the 28 cents, I decided to disclose relevant details.

Username: 2122397500
Email: atqcapital@gmail.com

I searched the email online and it was disclosed under a scammer thread as well. And apparently this account belongs to her husband. There was no identification documents under this account.

WHAT'S NEXT?

What do you think we should take actions against people like her?
Get BcX on it for some epic doxing action. Grin

Yeah the "private" tickbox doesn't seem to work as expected, and the same goes with the pool selection list. Also, the javascript froze my browser, but that's probably because the browser was leaking memory already. I need to fix that.
1711  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BITCOIN MAGAZINE ARRIVED! on: June 14, 2012, 10:08:20 PM
So the subscription said 12 months + free gift.  What is/was the free gift?  Or is that a surprise for the future?
The gift is the top secret swimsuit edition.

Yes, with Vladimir and myself in revealing poses laying atop *hot* mining rigs.

You guys can talk about doing something all you want, and point fingers and scream and yell too, but I predict that next year at this time the same exact shit will still be happening, and Andre will still be coming back every few months to post an insincere update. Just like he has been doing recently, just posting often enough to make people think he cares.

Alcohol should also be illegal.   The gun violence involved in prohibition was why it became a violent and unsustainable mess, once we take the guns away it is an achievable goal to prohibit it.

I'm at a solid 2106, and ideally I would just hold them and not buy more but chances are I'll want to keep buying. I've got pie-in-the-sky hopes for this thing since I'm one of those crazy internet libertarians who thinks Bitcoin is almost the perfect money.
Lol, you must have just come back from the dead to see the value of your coins. I can tell because of the TH referral.... TH is dead now, Dwolla fucked them.

The medical evidence is clear, smoking pot can make you violent and alters your thinking process, making you paranoid and disturbed.

AMSTERDAM, Netherlands, Feb. 1 (UPI) -- A Dutch study on the effects of marijuana use on teenagers suggests a connection with aggressive behavior.

The BBC reports researchers at the Trimbos Institute in the Netherlands found 17 percent of the 5,551 12 to 16-year-olds questioned had used marijuana within the past year. The study found the higher the frequency and amount of marijuana use, the more aggressive behavior the teenager showed.

http://www.upi.com/Business_News/2006/02/01/Study-Link-between-marijuana-aggression/UPI-28721138819619/#ixzz1xnfl72Wq

People who deny the dangers of Marijuana are exactly like those who deny the global warming science.  Just because you wish something was true doesn't mean it is, you have to actually look at the science.
That smacks of a study that couldn't be damned to actually do proper research. Fucking hell, there are so many variables that they conveniently ignored, it's totally laughable to look at the "study" and use it for evidence.

Additionally, you conveniently left out this quote from the same article:
Quote
Harald Wychgel, author of the Dutch study, said aggressive behavior and poor school grades are exacerbated in countries with more stringent drug laws.
(Emphasis mine)

So even if you do take the article at face value, it is still making a case for legalization.
