If I had thousands in preorders, I think I could pay off a few suckers to talk about how great my nonexistent equipment is.
Cool.  Want to bet on BFL ASICs being real?
882  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Just got my Physical Bitcoin from SgtSpike! on: May 07, 2013, 05:53:32 PM
how much was it?
We agreed on 5 BTC.  The coin is graded MS63 by ANACS.

Anyone got a CSI zoom photoshop filter to show the private key?

5GH/s for $274. I hope its not but my 10c is betting its a scam, or that a unit capable of 5GH/s is a wild pipedream.
Hear the one about the guy selling golf ball finders as bomb detectors?

Best of luck getting in and snapping some Miners!
They've shipped out 35 of those machines so far, and a number of people have reported receiving them along with pictures and video.  It is not a pipe dream - it is a reality.
884  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] BFL SC Single 60GH/s first-day preorder - 200 BTC on: May 07, 2013, 04:04:10 PM
SgtSpike has fallen to selling his units. What a travesty!

I will give you 5 btc.
Only if the price is right!  Why is it a travesty?
885  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] BFL SC Single 60GH/s first-day preorder - 200 BTC on: May 07, 2013, 04:03:39 PM
I have a first-day preorder (actually, an order from 6/14/13 for four FPGA Singles that was converted) for two SC Single 60GH/s.  This order has recently been confirmed by BFL customer service staff to be considered a first day preorder, and will be one of the first orders to ship out.  I would like to sell one of them for 200 BTC.

Details:
Escrow through a trusted forum member is fine, but I won't be doing refunds (unless you don't get the unit, obviously).  If something is wrong with the unit, then you would be expected to deal with BFL.  The warranties are transferable, and I don't want to be the one on the hook if BFL sent out a non-working unit.  I would not be testing the unit at all - only shipping it directly to you as soon as I receive it.

I would ship via UPS (unless you want a different service), insured for $50,000, overnight, with early AM delivery.  I would ship out the day I received it.  Basically, everything I can do to make sure it gets to you as quickly and safely as possible.  Shipping costs would be covered by me, but I would require a small portion of the escrow amount be sent to me prior to shipping so I can cover those shipping costs (~$600!).

Your order is from the future.
LOL, will fix that.
886  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Just got my Physical Bitcoin from SgtSpike! on: May 07, 2013, 05:57:51 AM
Glad you're happy with it!  Was a fine trade all around.  Smiley

unless you setup 7850 mining rigs on a massive scale, a single 7850 literary mine next to nothing/day
Pretty close to it.  They're worse than a 5870 for mining...
888  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Going To Visit Butterfly Labs On Tuesday on: May 06, 2013, 11:01:58 PM
Best of luck of being invited in. If you had a large FedEx package and would not deny being the delivery guy then you would probably be able to take a peak Wink I mean who would want to carry something heavy into the office him/herself?

Kansas State Fire Code says that the front door must remain unlocked during business hours, so I'll just open in and walk in!
Well, you do that, but unlocked door is not the same as open to the public.  Far from it, actually.

So?

If locked, I knock on the door!

What is wrong with you people?

What are you afraid of?
I don't think anyone's afraid of anything.  You're just being an arrogant jerk by not calling them up and scheduling a visit, when they have publicly requested that visitors do so.

889  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Going To Visit Butterfly Labs On Tuesday on: May 06, 2013, 11:00:39 PM
You should record video. Also, regaurding the comment about bfl being a manufacturer, they are more than just that. They have a marketing department, a manufacturing department, and about 2 - 3 others. They are in fact a business, so as the OP said, they must have "open hours" where people may stop by.
Please show me a law that states a business must be open to the public, ever.

(hint: There are no such laws)

I will be in the area so I intend to drop by.

We shall see what we shall see.

Have you scheduled a visit?  Or are you just going to drop in?

BFL is a licenced business which is required to have operating hours according to the local ordinances.

I'm just going to drop by.
Manufacturers are required to have operating hours?

Why not schedule a visit instead of dropping in unannounced, knowing that BFL requests visitors to schedule visits?

Even with some severe difficulty increases a ROI of 1 year seems like a good investment to me.

There is going to be a premium involved in buying your way to the front of a very long pre order line as well.

I paid 25 BTC for this pre order (Yes, you can point and laugh, but that was the price back then), if there are no better offers I will simply mine the coins myself as I originally intended.

If mining with it is such a good deal, then why do you not keep itself to yourself?

Your calculations seem to be completely missing the (what appears now as) exponentially increasing difficulty.

My offer of 0.75 BTC stands. It is a good offer. :-)
That's a terrible offer.
895  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTS BFL Jalepeno 5 GH/s #20XX order date 6/25/12 on: May 06, 2013, 06:11:24 PM
To be fair we haven't actually seen anyone say 35BTC. And clearly if such a person exists, they are doing it quietly on purpose (silly price).
Very good point.  The OP could be just making up numbers to drive the price higher for all we know.

It is a legitimate offer.

5 Gh/s will mine ~8 BTC per month.

No pointing and laughing coming from me - I paid 450 BTC for two SC Singles.

I offer 0.75 BTC for the item.
Current best offer is 35 BTC.
This just boggles my mind.

Someone is willing to pay 35 BTC for a 5GH/s miner, effectively 7 BTC per GH/s, but no one is willing to buy my first-day preorder for an SC Single (60GH/s) for less than half that rate (200 BTC, effectively 3.33 BTC per GH/s).

I don't get it.

It could be that Jales exist in the wild and singles dont.  Waiting for singles to be developed could take a while...
Valid point as well.

I have the very first 60 ghs order, id sell for 200 or so BTC too.

seems odd
I think mine is technically before yours (converted order from 6/14).  Wink

900  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ok, I've got some Bitcoins in my Ripple account... how do I get them out? on: May 06, 2013, 05:59:05 AM
I traded 10,000 ripples for a little over 1 BTC using bitstamp as my "base currency" or "issuer"... how do I actually withdraw those Bitcoins from my ripple wallet to my own Bitcoin wallet?

Go to bitstamp.net and I think it is deposit and they will give you link click it and then send the 1 btc to them. It will instantly show up in your account.
Thanks!
