No one is going to let the funds be held in escrow for that long. That is crazy but good luck finding someone
883  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Microsoft, 1st Tech Giant to Announce Bitcoin Intergration on: December 12, 2014, 07:42:15 PM
This is a great step to company adoption. Microsoft is one of the largest if not the largest company to date to accept and at least acknowledge bitcoin. I am sure they are just testing the waters and if it takes off they will integrate bitcoin into all the products (slowly but steadily). We do however need companies that will hold bitcoin to prevent the selling pressure that this will bring as well.
884  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CLAM] CLAMS, Proof-Of-Chain, Proof-Of-Pearl, Recent Mandatory Update on: December 12, 2014, 07:39:13 PM
The challenge for every POS coin is getting people to use/buy&sell the coin rather than just hoarding it in a wallet. With a 1% house edge JD allows quite a bit of fluidity - some people will cash out coins, others will buy to play - it's win-win.

One of the major "risks" with CLAM would be that nobody digs them up and a limited supply could dry up. We NEED lots of CLAMs to be dug up for the long-term future of the coin. Even if that means temporary dips in the market price Wink

I agree with you that there needs to be more clams dug up. Maybe changing it to award 2-3 people 1 clam every minute or let it scale to something like difficulty. THere should never be a machine though thats able to generate clams like sha256 or other altcoin algorithms. Unique coins like POS is what the altcoin industry needs since everything else is just copies

Price is finally starting to meet the difficulty to be profitable as it was before the difficulty spike. Hopefully it stays this way  Grin

888  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Growth of Bitcoin Mining Network slows to 0.5% per day. on: December 07, 2014, 01:06:05 PM
This could be a good time to enter the mining game.

Its an excellent time to enter the mining game since you can do easier predictions with a plateau difficulty. I dont think we will see greater than 5%+ increase in diff anymore at least until bitcoin goes to 450+
889  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Hashie.co - Cloud Mining from 0.0012 BTC / GH | NEW: AMHash | FREE 10 GH on: December 06, 2014, 10:26:03 PM
would be nice makes it a good time to mine if diff drops or plateaus
890  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient HDD Mining | New version 1.1.5 on: December 06, 2014, 03:30:13 PM
What's wrong with you people?  Roll Eyes "We are all dooomed" - or what?

The difficulty rises about 20% and you are speculating about botnets and one big player?!
This kind of rise in difficulty is expected and no anomaly at all. The weeks without rise in difficulty were the anomaly and to worry about. The network grows, the number of wallet grows with it. Nothing to worry about at all.

The problem with this is it will push out small miners like myself where electric is not dirt cheap and we can not get stellar deals on hardware. That is why I shyed away from home bitcoin mining and just do cloud mining. Having physical mining hardware just is more interesting (although more work of course)
891  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: LTCgear.com, the best scrypt/scrypt n/X11 cloud mining service, ROI 2 months on: December 06, 2014, 03:28:16 PM
I guess none of us really know what 1/2.5 actually means but the specs on the 2nd gen stuff is pretty impressive for stuff other than scrypt especially the the VTC fork. Pre-ordering at ltcgear seems ok with me since its only a month or so away pre-order and you get some bang for your buck now with the 1/2.5. Chris has done already this past year for his customers and I see no reason why he should not especially since hes paid twice for all blackfriday products (which made me hit ROI again  Grin). I am just debating if I want to invest now or wait a week or so until next payout and invest that into these new shares ( hopefully not sold out by then though)
892  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-12-05] NYT: Tim Draper Wins Small Piece of Bitcoin Auction on: December 06, 2014, 01:27:48 PM
Venture Capitalist Tim Draper Wins Small Piece of Bitcoin Auction

http://dealbook.nytimes.com/2014/12/05/venture-capitalist-tim-draper-wins-small-piece-of-bitcoin-auction/?_r=0

When the United States Marshals Service opened its second Bitcoin auction on Thursday, some bidders were not optimistic about their chances. After all, a single bidder had won all of the nearly 30,000 Bitcoins in the government’s first auction in June, leaving the rest of the participants discouraged.

But the Bitcoin king of June ended up just a bit player today. On Friday, the venture capitalist Timothy C. Draper, the first auction’s sole victor, said he had won just one block of 2,000 Bitcoins, a fraction of the 50,000 the Marshals Service had put up for sale. Mr. Draper bid on behalf of his venture firm, Draper Associates.

Looks like there weren't enough bitcoins to satisfy everybody's appetite.  Smiley

They actually said they split the bitcoins up into blocks for sale this time and did not put them all together like last time. It will be interesting when it leaks who won the other 48,000
893  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can Bitcoin do another 10x price increase? on: December 06, 2014, 04:59:13 AM
I do not think we will see the huge 10x price increase in the month timeframe we saw last year. IT might start to steadily rise almost how recently it has steadily declined. I feel around 500 is a decent plateau we might be able to hit in the next month or two depending on bitcoin news. 1000 goal might be a year or so from now unless something drastic occurs.

895  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud miners, why did you pick the cloud mining services you are using? on: December 06, 2014, 04:02:33 AM
I picked ltcgear for the major of my investment. Why? Simple it is the most profitable and has the best ROI date (already ROIed btw  Grin)

Interesting I looked at the most recent posts of the banned user and it seems he was not flaming or trolling but raising very valid questions. Sad that he was banned for that  Angry

Love the no trading fee...

Love the lower maint fee...

HOWEVER - There are some problems that are not getting answered.

No payments on 11/29  and no answer on it.

Also some are reporting maintenance fee of 61% rather then the quoted 49% on the website.

Come on bitmain, you can take market share from your competitors right now if you start acting more professional.

Answer your forum questions on no payments and higher maint fee if you want us to stay.

Thanks.

I agree with all these points in addition I would also like to say the whole share not equal to a gh is annoying. In most sites when you buy a gh its a gh here its always less but how much less depends on which miner you buy. That is extremely misleading since I had 1500gh of S2s (not the subscription one) and it at best mined 1350gh
see this my friend is news to me. So you telling me what i actually have lets make me 1TH umisoo is not actually 1TH of mining speend? If i misunderstood please clarify cause you are right can be a head shake scene lol but other than that i like hashnest. I still want to know why they have doge coin wallet? Are we able to use dogecoin on hashnest website for anything at all?

Go to status and look at the 1 day average it shows the actual mining speed. umisoo is close to what you would expect but s2 is so much lower. i have 1.5th in umisoo and its more or less 1.5th but the 1.5th i had on s2s definitely was not always showed 1.35th

Agreed, spot on. It will be interesting to see what umisoo does in the next quarter, especially with hashing power and prices. S2 never seems to correctly reflect what you may buy, based on the mining speed. It is a bit misleading, they should probably state you may see less in terms of hashing speed you buy/trade for. Same as if you actually purchased a physical miner.

They do stress the +- 5% however the main concern is its more like 10-15% at times.

899  Economy / Digital goods / Re: $100 Starbucks Egifts and Physical cards Supplier (PRICE REDUCED) on: December 05, 2014, 01:48:36 AM
Something seems fishy about this. How are you paying for these cards?
Likely hacked accounts or carded, but of course he's never going to say that.

Out of all the people selling Starbucks gift card here...why do I get left with a negative feedback?  Embarrassed
I'm offering a service that benefits this whole community by offering cheap starbucks cards that actually LAST unlike many other services that go bad in a few days. Is it because this might be a good thing for consumers, that they actually have cards that won't go bad and won't have to buy more to replace it  Huh
Why are you trying to ruin my business by posting a negative feedback and discouraging other people to buy from me, when other members are doing the same thing too?

Tomatocage, please explain this to me. Is this some kind of conspiracy between you and other members to eliminate competition?

Look at these members affiliated with cheap starbucks cards and nothing has happened to them  Huh
Hero member reselling cards why didn't he get a negative feedback? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=782611.0 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=728606.0
Sofia26, the most popular sb reseller on here selling cards that get ZEROED out and nothing has happened https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=765861.0
Sr.member dealing with cards in bulk https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=727009.0
full member selling cheap cards https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=580282.0

Huh Huh Huh Talk about fairness in this community, wow.

I agree some people can judge too quickly but its probably because your a new user. Too many new users come on and sell things only to find out people get scammed. As for referring to me I sold a handful of cards from a source I had and guess what those cards are still not zeroed out ( I still have a handful of them for personal use). My main purpose on this forum though is not to sell cards plus I had previous trust before selling these cards with other stuff. Sure it looks suspicious for you but I agree you may be treated too harsh but only time will tell.
900  Economy / Gambling / Re: DirectBet – LIVE Sportsbook & Racebook. Rated # 1 by Bitcointalk Members ! on: December 05, 2014, 12:16:39 AM
Overall for live betting I think directbet has the best sportsbook. The only other reliable live betting I found was on cloudbet and they have very few games. Directbet has amazing options for live betting and the whole negotiate odds and setting a min is amazing. Being able to get paid right after the event over is also nice not having to manually withdraw. Keep up the great work!
