881  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ROCKMINER ASIC miner official thread on: June 18, 2014, 03:21:56 AM
No they are both USB 2.
I use the Razorfish hub for everything from RedFurys to OneString miners.  The Orico work with all the miners as well.  It just came today as I wanted to make sure it is not the hub.
I am stumped.
I even connected right into the pi with one and it has stopped mining since I posted in this thread.
So odd.
Even though I compiled and put BFGMiner 4.2 on the MinePeon I have no idea how to do it with cgminer.  LOL  Or I would try the newest cgminer.

Are either of those USB 3?
882  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ROCKMINER ASIC miner official thread on: June 18, 2014, 02:30:47 AM
I am having the craziest problem with 4 R-Boxes.
I can get 4 to start on almost any system but they drop off so only one is left working.  Sometimes only one will detect.  I have used the Razorfish hub, orico hub. MinePeon Pi, Windows 7 system and windows 8 system.
They will not all work together for long at all.  The only time they do work properly is on CrazyGuys cgminer fork.
Any ideas what is going on?
They are powered on a 750 watt PSU.  I also used the black arrow breakout board same results.

That is good news indeed.
I got an account recently on Havelock I will have to look into it.

Being tied up with mass production of Rocket Box lately, we hereby would like to extend our apology for not updating the progress in time.

Here are the main updates:

1. We are still making every effort to produce miners. Rocket Box and R-Box are our key products at present. For R-Box, another 2K production planning is expected to be completed by this week. The first batch of Rocket Box has 2K units. So far, the sales of Rocket Box is basically satisfactory. We will start shipping on June 25.
P.S.: Due to production issues, RX-BOX will be delayed indefinitely. Customers who joined Project R60 will receive 6 units of Rocket Box instead of 4 units of RX-BOX.(For domestic China customers: 3 units of Rocket Box instead of 2 units of RX-BOX)

Assembling

2. We have been developing our own stock exchange platform, of which basic functions have been finished at present. Partial functions need to be optimized. In consideration of calls for share exchange, in addition Havelock has always been in active touch with us, we decide to list RM shares on Havelock. Before that, shareholders who want to trade on havelock please follow instructions below to help us to list, and submit following information to transfer@rockminer.com :

1) your account on havelockinvestments.com;
2) your wallet address associated with RM shares, shares quantity, signature and verification of THAT address.

VERY IMPORTANT:Only complete signature and verification information can prove you are the owner of that address.

3. Due to fierce competition of miner selling, profit has been greatly compressed. Dividends for all shareholders will be delayed. We have to give priority to ensure the subsequent production plan. We believe no one wants to see that ROCKMINER has no fund for further production after we distribute dividends. Time for dividends may be delayed until July.

P.S. We updated the running command of OC R-BOX:

How many R-Boxes??

I compiled on minepeon basic commands, ./configure then automake. Running several days non-stop just fine on Minepeon.

@Betaman2k Read page 7 of this post.

Yes I have it working but not perfectly.
It will detect all 4 R-Boxes and mine for several hours before dropping down to one or two active miners.
I have new hub to try later tonight to see if that fixes it.
While they are running they work great on MinePeon.

I have just put BFGMiner 4.2.0 on my MinePeon setup.  Did you need to do any special compiling to have it detect your R-Box?

Were you able to get it working with minepeon? I've had no such luck as yet, but I didn't try particularly hard...

My interview with Nate of MultiMiner.
He gave so much great info and an insight into himself that left me even more impressed.  I will just post a quote of his here and the link to the full article.  That way I do not spam his thread.
Nate thank you so much for the interview and the great software.  You have elevated mining of crypto currencies in my opinion to something everyone can do.

Could you tell me about MultiMiner and its ecosystem?

MultiMiner a program for mining essentially any digital currency with virtually any device out there. It’s a graphical program (rather than a command line utility) that displays all of your local and networked mining hardware and then lets you choose which coins you’d like to mine with them.

MobileMiner is a companion web-based service, though it does not require MultiMiner. MobileMiner lets anyone monitor and control their digital mining from a smartphone or browser, for free, without having to make any firewall changes.

For some reason Fury Support is now broken.  I cannot run any of them.
I am sure it will get straightened out soon.

I tried moving my Red BitFurys to a different PC and they were not recognized by MuM 3.2.2 (BFGMiner 4.2.0). I uninstalled the WinUSB driver and installed something called BF1.inf and now they show up on Win7 Device Manager under Ports, COM99 through COM103. MuM only lists 3 of them but shows no hashing and their lights are not blinking. Anyone know how to get these lil' rascals runnin'  Huh
888  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: RK-BOX,450GH/S,480W ,shipping date 25th on: June 16, 2014, 06:23:12 AM
So the finished version uses only one USB port as opposed to the 4 USB cable tangle we see per box on the test unit?

The prototype looks like four independent miners each with its own power and controller/usb interface. Is the end product going to be like this?

Yeah seriously, are we going to need a USB hub for each miner?  Shocked

No you will not.
889  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Optimal Firmware/Hardware design for mining with cgminer on: June 16, 2014, 05:59:42 AM
Great job Kano!
I do not know how I missed this thread for so long.

I think you should bump it at least once per month to keep it in developers minds.

A couple things I would suggest would be this.
If they are putting out new hardware to stop using such outdated versions of cgminer or bfgminer as the release version.  ie: the ZeusMiners running 3.1.1 at start instead of a newer version.  I know they cannot always use the latest as the updates come out regularly but at least keep it as up to date as possible.

The 2nd thing is to get units to ckolivas, Luke-Jr, Kano and Nate Woolls as soon as possible so that support for their products can be set for all the major mining software packages as soon as possible on the main chain.  I know this is a thread for just cgminer but this problem effects all the mining software packages.

Again great job Kano I look forward to devices working better because you have this thread going.
Thanks for all your great work.
890  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Who the hell is still mining on GHash.IO? GTFO that pool already!!! on: June 16, 2014, 04:15:00 AM
eleuthria of BTCG is always on here interacting and giving out info.  He does it in many threads both for BTCG and Scrypt Guild as well as in the Eligius thread recently as well about the block denial attack.

When you don't have a pool operator communicating on a regular basis with the community like Bitminter's or BTCG's pool ops you can't really understand the intentions of the pool.  Why people would lend them their hashing power just to make a few more satoshis is beyond me.  As I said before it's like tossing away $5 to get a couple of pennies.

Raspberry Pi Setup

I have got (2) Rockminer R-BOX's working on the Pi just fine using Luke-Jr's BFGMiner 4.2.0. Also using customized PiMiner with Adafruit's CharPlate LCD.

I am running the latest Raspbian on my sd card.

I have a picture of the sloppy setup, please don't mind it.

I had an issue with bfgminer not detecting my R-BOX's through a USB hub. However connected directly they worked fine. I was using a Anker USB 3.0 hub which apparently it did not like. I found an old Rosewill USB 2.0 hub laying around and hooked it up... it then detected the miners.

Remember to run bfgminer as su, as it also did not detect my R-BOX's as it did not have permission.

I used shell scripts at boot up to auto run the PiMiner and BFGMiner.

I just wanted to share the USB hub issue as it was a pain in the ass.

Awesome!!!!!!
I cannot wait to get it.
It looks great.

Fresh off the printer...

I know they are working on it.  Nate was not given one when they first came out to get support ready.
He has stated in the thread he has a Zeus/GAW miner coming so he can add support.
There is a fork of BFGMiner you can use that does allow it to work but it is not official yet.
Here is the thread that has the link.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=644921.0
Just replace the BFGMiner folder in you MultiMiner folder and it should work.

hey devs would it be possible to reach compatibility with zeusminer cyclone ( asic scrypt 22MH ) and other zeusminers 2now delivered by hundreds or thousands
894  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [12000 TH] BTC Guild - Pays TxFees+NMC, Stratum, VarDiff, Private Servers on: June 15, 2014, 04:03:51 AM
It does not feel like it that is for sure.
 Undecided

Variance is fine and well but is this really variance?
895  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [12000 TH] BTC Guild - Pays TxFees+NMC, Stratum, VarDiff, Private Servers on: June 15, 2014, 04:03:22 AM
I agree.
It would definitely help so much.  Many smaller miners would more apt to stay mining as well if that was implemented.

He sort of states he fixed the issue but it seems we are having that terrible variance we had last time he was at BTCG.
and I come back to this... no rush on an answer from Michael but I do feel as I suspect others feel as well that this should try and be addressed a bit more, the issue that is.

Seeing as how if it is possible, would nip the problem in the ass.

897  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The Open Source Block Erupter Project on: June 15, 2014, 03:52:30 AM
Exactly.  I hope this unit does that.  It looks to be built in such a way that it would benefit from pulling the air through.

It is definitely directed in an efficient manner from the looks of it over the heatsinks.
I wonder is the fan pushes or pulls the air over them?
I know it some cases like the SP-10 Dawson having the fans pull helps for a more even cooling.
This miner is very elegant in it's design I am impressed I cannot wait to get one or more.
Great work Friedcat.

Heat rises due to convection.  What if you just turned in 90 degrees with the fan on the bottom to push air up?  That way, the fan assists the natural flow of heated air upward.

I think convection should be neglegable with good airflow.

Looks to me like each board has the same heatsinks and airflow.

Don't forget,as you create a "suction",pulling air through instead of pushing it thru, you get a pressure decrease which also reduces temp.Very little, but the principle is there  Wink
898  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [12000 TH] BTC Guild - Pays TxFees+NMC, Stratum, VarDiff, Private Servers on: June 15, 2014, 12:59:54 AM
He is the same guy that hit BTCG earlier.
In the Eligius thread he even stated he has moved his hash power back to other pools.  He sort of states he fixed the issue but it seems we are having that terrible variance we had last time he was at BTCG.
I hope we are not getting screwed so he can try and prove he can do it and get away with it.  I am fine with bad variance but not manipulation like he was doing.

I clicked back in the thread to 05-10-14 (3 months back from 8-10-14) and didn't see any mentioned to the withholding attack.  Is there a separate thread detailing this discovery?
It was discussed May 5,2014 to May 8,2014 in this thread. The issue with a miners equipment is the withholding attack that keeps coming back up. pages 343-348 or at least that's the range my browser dissects the thread.

I keep coming across new threads that a user says Eligius stole 200 BTC from him. I have a feeling this is the same miner that was discovered here on the Guild and a part of this "Withholding". So in my eyes, he has publicly revealed himself.
899  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fury/Blizzard tuning and mods on: June 15, 2014, 12:52:19 AM
I know I kept going through the thread and boom another and another.  LOL
It rocks though.  Soon it will be in the main branch of BFG that will be awesome.
I like the stability and speed increases they are getting.

Newer?  Wow...the one I linked to was from today.  They're working fast.
